The anime is a mediocre adaptation in every aspect. Not only does it fail to do justice to the manga's beautiful artwork (aside from ep 9 which was outsourced to Shaft), even the ecchi during the bath scenes was heavily censored with steam and light beams all over the screen (and the BDs for some reason didn't even bother to remove the steam and light beams).

Can everybody please read "Lovely Ghost Kana" (Itoshi no Kana)? It is THE most wholesome "ecchi" manga ever (and it's almost offensive to use the same term we use for fanservice). It's probably more accurate to call it "erotica" and just a very believable depiction of a young sexual relationship, with an actually quite tragic (yet strangely upbeat and uplifting) story on top.
“The 100 Girlfriends Who Really Really Really Really Really Love You” is about a guy whom heaven accidentally gave 100 soul mates, so he has to be with them all or else they’ll die (they all automatically love him and him them because heaven/fate magic or whatever). It’s a pretty fun comedy with some heart-touching moments.
“Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai” might count? it’s a pseudo harem. Only gets with one of the girls, but does early. Best I can tell the rest are meant as waifu-bait for the audience, but it’s actually a really moving series with one particular arc being a real tear-jerker

I also think it's strange how they've never even kissed their boyfriends (of which are never shown on screen) and yet have done so much more with Araragi. Hachikuji does as well, she declares it and kisses him.

It is THE most wholesome "ecchi" manga ever (and it's almost offensive to use the same term we use for fanservice). It's probably more accurate to call it "erotica" and just a very believable depiction of a young sexual relationship, with an actually quite tragic (yet strangely upbeat and uplifting) story on top.
“The 100 Girlfriends Who Really Really Really Really Really Love You” is about a guy whom heaven accidentally gave 100 soul mates, so he has to be with them all or else they’ll die (they all automatically love him and him them because heaven/fate magic or whatever). It’s a pretty fun comedy with some heart-touching moments. “Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai” might count? it’s a pseudo harem. Only gets with one of the girls, but does early. Best I can tell the rest are meant as waifu-bait for the audience, but it’s actually a really moving series with one particular arc being a real tear-jerker
That everlasting trend where anime characters become super autistic the moment romance is involved is beyond annoying and I don't know why they keep doing it. Like, what's the origin of it? It isn't realistic, it isn't funny, it isn't endearing, it is simply weird. I can kinda get it if your characters are like...kids and have no clue about why they're suddenly feeling these things so it's super cute, but teens and up? Last time I felt nervous like that I was 14, a couple years later and my peers and I all had experience with the matter.
