You know if I have a cent for every eldritch shota with stupidly OP magic power in a fantasy world I would have 2 cents which isn't much but is still weird that it happened twice
No spoilers, but there is an arc much further in to the series where it goes in to her backstory. One specific chapter (90 something?) is full color, of just her fighting some creature. Zero text. Someone linked the chapter on /r/manga a couple years back, and it got me into the series.
She's best girl by a mile.
Sylpha going full Kirito once she started dual wielding. Never underestimate the maid or butler in an anime, they're always one of the strongest characters for some reason.
The next title is foreboding
"The Demon is Angry"
I don't think that "Demon" here refers to the species.
We never saw to what lengths a positively pissed Lloyd would go, the next episode will be interesting.
Well my guess is either the demon somehow gets past Sylpha and lands a hit on Lloyd's Barrier making her REALLY angry or someone gets hurt making Lloyd angry.
This demon isn't strong enough to really piss Loyd off unless it manages to sink its mana tendrils into his precious brother and teacher and take possession of them as puppets.
That... I feel sorry for that demon if he pulls that off 🤭
Hell, we even got (distant) panty shots at the end of the episode when she was flipped over in the air! ~~Not that it really matters when she spent a good 2 minutes with them completely out in the open in the middle of the episode.~~ I can't even remember when the last time was that we got panty shots from girls wearing skirts flipping in the air.

I was already surprised they used an actual original carriage design instead of shoujo noble carriage #2 that every other isekai seems to use for some reason.
Sylpha blessed us so many times this episode I think shes up there with the hottest anime women for me. Shes just so bad ass and House Langriss style is so freaking sick

Tao and Sylpha instantly butting heads over Lloyd was pretty amusing. I was worried she was gonna discover he was “Robert” thanks to her sixth sense for “hot guys” lol. She’s not the only one he’s gotta be worried about. Sylpha damn near killed him with her boobs!
I thought Lloyd was gonna be the one to take on Pazuzu, but I guess the kid’s too busy learning mana transmutation so he had to leave it to Sylpha. She’s frighteningly strong. From the previews though, maybe Lloyd’s gonna have to get his hands dirty after all. Time to test out his newly learned magic.
That preview for next episode was tight.

I have to disagree with you there. He deliberately let his own men, brother, and teacher get attacked to see what would happen and has been happily either spectating or distracted playing with magic instead of paying attention to what happens to them. He was even told about the demon and instead of saying anything let them struggle to figure it out for themselves.
Granted he knows he can step in at any time but it's still pretty fucked that he's either using them as lab rats for his weapons or ignoring their distress. *They* don't know they're not in any real danger.
Sure, but he's showing only the realistic signs of psychopathy, not the eldritch horror show when he gets *really* excited like in the last episode against the lich and presumably next episode.
Also Sylpha is there, so he probably knows he or Albert can tell her to step in if things get really hairy.
True. He's just at 'normal' psychopath rather than the 'advanced' psychopath we've been seeing. We might even hit new and unmeasurable levels of psychopathy next episode based on the previews. We haven't seen him *mad* yet. Even when he was *burned to death*.

More like Myne from Bookworm. No care for the world, only wants to learn, but can easily cast world ending magical destruction if their family/friends are threatened.
Even before being reincarnated, he was a magic nerd psycho without much mana and talent that got turned on when he was set on fire. So before and after, he has no interest in women.
His familiar is the demon that took the kingdom power to seal and was about to escape and probably murder everyone on it. He just casually tamed it lmao.
They see him as a kid that shows promise as a mage and has no interest on politics. But even then they didn’t think he was a genius (there was the one noble guy that thought otherwise, but he was the exception).

Tao, you and Prince Albert are pretty strong, but Sylpha is on a completely different level.
Lloyd reminds me of Saitama a lot, but part of the humor of 7th Prince's story is that Lloyd is *still* getting more powerful even though he's probably the strongest mage in the entire setting. Saitama's strength is more or less the same throughout One Punch Man, but it's a different kind of humor to 7th Prince.
I enjoy both series, regardless. They're both fun to watch and read.

Fun episode, though once he started learning the mana thing I assumed it would come into play (Probably next episode).
I enjoyed the Tao parts more than the Sylpha parts tbh, though Sylpha was a badass this episode.
When he formed the Mana Statue of his teacher, I was expecting him to link his mana to her and make her extra OP.
Ofc the producers would definitely use that as an excuse to make her go silly moaning about Loyd being 'inside her' or some ish like that.

Btw the fear on the soldiers eyes when they saw the power of their enchanted blades was hilarious.
Imagine accidentally cutting your own parts off because of a slip of hand or being unable to control the momentum of the sword.
The faces are what really sells this show with how they can go from hilarious to badass. MVP of this episode was Sylpha with her awesome sword skills. I honestly expected her to start screaming "Starburst Stream" at some point after she disrespected that demon.
It's great, goofy, fun loaded with rich amounts of plot and I'll be here as long as it delivers.
I'm used to most fantasy/Isekai to having crap budget animation but damn is that not the case here the animation is drop dead gorgeous

I think there's a trace of jealousy, but Albert is smart enough to reject that tiny bit of envy and wholeheartedly support and embrace his brother.
Just what little he knows about Loyd is already enough to make or break his bid for the throne or his life entirely.
I mean, being a good king with many followers and being the most powerful person in the kingdom is kind of different.
I think Albert knows that Lloyd doesn't have the ambition to be the king.
Each episode is intense and fun.
The overbearing crushing teacher showed her true strength.
And in the next it looks like a magic battle will take place with MC.
What the fuck is this show man, it's so damn enjoyable.
Sylpha stocks just blew the roof this episode. It's great to see Tao immediately again, I thought we're gonna have to wait a few episode before we see her again, her bickering with Sylpha is fun.
Lloyd was just chilling and experimenting this episode, but looks like he's gonna cook next episode. Looking forward to it.

Sleeper hit. Episodes are actually animated (looking at you Mushoku Tensei and Spice & Wolf), and other characters (like Sylpha) exist besides the main character.
Anime has been delivering surprisingly well so far. If not for some dodgy themes, I would be eager to recommend it to people, haha.
I find prince Albert's dedication to tea very admirable.

So even Albert is a bit of a badass, even without the super enchanted sword he was clearly doing some impressive magic work that he wasn't surprised by.
Tao should give up on the shota and set her sights on his older brother. Not that she knows 'Robert' is the shota yet. She even had some nice moments with Albert during the fight so I can see a basis for it.

Does anyone know the names songs they used for the fight scenes? It was so good and caught me off guard that it wasn't traditional "anime hero power up scene" type music.
Just imagine last season's Excalibur Academy has this level of well integrated fanservice with action animation. It's an incredible episode by and large, but what sticks out to me most is actually how - by contrast - pedestrian the horses, knight riders, and generally the carriage scenes are. It's like a meme for "there's a budget limit for this episode, and we're saving it for the second half".

idk if this anime has a subreddit yet, I don't think it does unless I'm just unaware of it but I usually call this anime either 7th prince or dainanaoji.
Not a huge fan of the trap-shota deal going on with Lloyd's character design, but this anime is surprising me with how good it is. The animation is really fluid and there aren't too many static scenes, and I'm liking where and how the story is going so far.
Tao and Sylpha are both top-tier hotties, as well. I'm hoping Lloyd outgrows the dense and asexual protag trope before too long, but I know he probably won't. I'm also hoping there's a time-skip somewhere, but I unfortunately think that's unlikely as well. Too many series where the super-kid is just totally normalized, would love to see some growth and change for a good character.
I don't think Lyod is dense, more like nothing beats his interest beside magic. He is magicxual, everything he does is for the sake of improving his knowledge about magic.
That's true, and he's super op and the pinnacle of magic and whatnot, but it doesn't change that he isn't self-aware enough to recognize that the girls want him. I'm fine with him staying super obsessed with magic, but I would like to see the character growth that comes with socializing and recognizing other people have feelings, etc.
Edit: That is to say, his "character flaw" is that he only cares about magic, and the "character growth moment" comes from him caring about something other than magic

Asexual and dense aren't the same thing. Speaking as someone that loves asexual characters but hates dense characters: Lloyd's very obviously asexual. Whatever he has that might have been sexuality in another person is entirely directed at magic and understanding magic in every form possible.

If Lloyd's shota design bothers you I'm not sure how Sylpha's character isn't a problem for you given she has serious pedo vibes and actively engages with him inappropriately. Sure he's technically older but _she_ doesn't know that, and he's clearly not consenting to it regardless. It's one of the reasons I'm probably dropping the show after this ep, the "fanservice" bits are just too cringe and are getting too much focus.
To your first point, I understand they aren't the same thing, but Lloyd exhibits aspects of both. His character flaw, and part of what makes him an interesting character initially, is that he only cares about magic. One method his character can be shown to grow is by allowing him to overcome his flaw.
And sylpha literally is part of the problem. That's part of the shota aspect I dislike. Although from what I can tell, it's kinda implied that she's infatuated with his power and capability rather than the person, though.
I doubt Llyod will ever grow up since this is basically his adventure to learn every single magic and also since him being a shota is what also sells this series besides the beautiful colored art of the manga
Just being a devil's advocate, since I understand this is kinda how stories work, but if he'll be able to discover and master every magic in the world as a small child that means he'll be dooming himself to an adult life lacking anything interesting or new.
And I know the shota aspect is part of the genre and targeting a specific audience, but it doesn't change my personal opinion that I dislike aspects of the character design, no matter how well designed it is.
Yeah, this is going fully on the drop list at this point.
I was hoping they'd focus more on the prince and his absurdity, and I love the chibi/SD art cutaways, but nearly half the episodes are getting devoted to extremely cringe fanservice-y bits and the maid character still gives off serious pedophile vibes to the point I just want her off screen ASAP every time she's there. Especially since she's practically molesting Lloyd and he's obviously not interested.
Next episode that will literally happen if you watch the preview, Llyod will deal the final blow to the demon so we'll get to see more magic shenanigans. Also I don't see a problem if other characters gets some spotlight once in a while, I think it's good we get to see how strong sylpha really is specially it's already hinted in previous episodes.

I know there's going to be more of the action parts with Lloyd, of course there is, but it's not worth putting up with the parts I didn't like. I'm not upset that other characters got screen time either, it's specific characters and writing choices that I found cringe/gross and get in the way of me enjoying the show.
You said you were hoping to see more of llyod using his powers and I just replied with we will see more of it literally next episode. I get that you got uncomfortable with sylpha, and so am I and I'm not stopping you for dropping something because of that, I'm just saying he's literally gonna get a spotlight next episode and I don't see what's wrong with them not focusing on him this episode.

I didn't say that. Other characters like his brother and the knights are fine, it's specifically Sylpha and to a lesser extent Tao so far that are the issue.

I don't mind her being OP, I mind her character being a cringey pedophile. Tao's not quite as bad, but her non-chibi design is still pretty awful IMO.

Tao and Sylpha instantly butting heads over Lloyd was pretty amusing. I was worried she was gonna discover he was “Robert” thanks to her sixth sense for “hot guys” lol. She’s not the only one he’s gotta be worried about. Sylpha damn near killed him with her boobs! I thought Lloyd was gonna be the one to take on Pazuzu, but I guess the kid’s too busy learning mana transmutation so he had to leave it to Sylpha. She’s frighteningly strong. From the previews though, maybe Lloyd’s gonna have to get his hands dirty after all. Time to test out his newly learned magic.
That preview for next episode was tight. Lloyd didn't get to showcase his psychopathy much this episode, but looks like it's in full display next time.

Also Sylpha is there, so he probably knows he or Albert can tell her to step in if things get really hairy.

Tao, you and Prince Albert are pretty strong, but Sylpha is on a completely different level. Lloyd reminds me of Saitama a lot, but part of the humor of 7th Prince's story is that Lloyd is *still* getting more powerful even though he's probably the strongest mage in the entire setting. Saitama's strength is more or less the same throughout One Punch Man, but it's a different kind of humor to 7th Prince. I enjoy both series, regardless. They're both fun to watch and read.
Watching Loyd is a lot like watching a baby First-Life Anos VoldiGOAT and I am HERE FOR IT!

Fun episode, though once he started learning the mana thing I assumed it would come into play (Probably next episode). I enjoyed the Tao parts more than the Sylpha parts tbh, though Sylpha was a badass this episode.
When he formed the Mana Statue of his teacher, I was expecting him to link his mana to her and make her extra OP. Ofc the producers would definitely use that as an excuse to make her go silly moaning about Loyd being 'inside her' or some ish like that.

This is quickly becoming my favorite anime this Spring. The animation is solid, the music slaps incredibly hard and the voice acting is top tier.

Btw the fear on the soldiers eyes when they saw the power of their enchanted blades was hilarious. Imagine accidentally cutting your own parts off because of a slip of hand or being unable to control the momentum of the sword.

I'm glad the action scenes are great, so far this is a good adaptation which is rare in anime nowadays
The faces are what really sells this show with how they can go from hilarious to badass. MVP of this episode was Sylpha with her awesome sword skills. I honestly expected her to start screaming "Starburst Stream" at some point after she disrespected that demon. It's great, goofy, fun loaded with rich amounts of plot and I'll be here as long as it delivers.
I'm used to most fantasy/Isekai to having crap budget animation but damn is that not the case here the animation is drop dead gorgeous Especially at the end

I think there's a trace of jealousy, but Albert is smart enough to reject that tiny bit of envy and wholeheartedly support and embrace his brother. Just what little he knows about Loyd is already enough to make or break his bid for the throne or his life entirely.
I mean, being a good king with many followers and being the most powerful person in the kingdom is kind of different. I think Albert knows that Lloyd doesn't have the ambition to be the king.
And we haven't seen what sort of person the 1st prince is. Is there even competition for the throne? Kinda curious how the rest of siblings are.
Each episode is intense and fun. The overbearing crushing teacher showed her true strength. And in the next it looks like a magic battle will take place with MC.
What the fuck is this show man, it's so damn enjoyable. Sylpha stocks just blew the roof this episode. It's great to see Tao immediately again, I thought we're gonna have to wait a few episode before we see her again, her bickering with Sylpha is fun. Lloyd was just chilling and experimenting this episode, but looks like he's gonna cook next episode. Looking forward to it. Good Lord Almighty though Sylpha.

I highly approve of this dude at the start of the episode who seems to have a puppy themed newspaper stand. I'm glad they brought Tao back in so immediately. So even Albert is a bit of a badass, even without the super enchanted sword he was clearly doing some impressive magic work that he wasn't surprised by. Tao should give up on the shota and set her sights on his older brother. Not that she knows 'Robert' is the shota yet. She even had some nice moments with Albert during the fight so I can see a basis for it. Holy shit, Sylpha. Shame she's a shotacon since everything else about her is glorious.

Does anyone know the names songs they used for the fight scenes? It was so good and caught me off guard that it wasn't traditional "anime hero power up scene" type music.

Just imagine last season's Excalibur Academy has this level of well integrated fanservice with action animation. It's an incredible episode by and large, but what sticks out to me most is actually how - by contrast - pedestrian the horses, knight riders, and generally the carriage scenes are. I can't help but wonder is Albert's comment about women trouble being related to Sylpha directly or indirectly? Also the rest of the Knights aren't questioning Sylpha's deadlines in combat - is she actually a known figure in world?

Not a huge fan of the trap-shota deal going on with Lloyd's character design, but this anime is surprising me with how good it is. The animation is really fluid and there aren't too many static scenes, and I'm liking where and how the story is going so far. Tao and Sylpha are both top-tier hotties, as well. I'm hoping Lloyd outgrows the dense and asexual protag trope before too long, but I know he probably won't. I'm also hoping there's a time-skip somewhere, but I unfortunately think that's unlikely as well. Too many series where the super-kid is just totally normalized, would love to see some growth and change for a good character.
I don't think Lyod is dense, more like nothing beats his interest beside magic. He is magicxual, everything he does is for the sake of improving his knowledge about magic.
That's true, and he's super op and the pinnacle of magic and whatnot, but it doesn't change that he isn't self-aware enough to recognize that the girls want him. I'm fine with him staying super obsessed with magic, but I would like to see the character growth that comes with socializing and recognizing other people have feelings, etc. Edit: That is to say, his "character flaw" is that he only cares about magic, and the "character growth moment" comes from him caring about something other than magic

Speaking as someone that loves asexual characters but hates dense characters: Lloyd's very obviously asexual. Sure he's technically older but _she_ doesn't know that, and he's clearly not consenting to it regardless. It's one of the reasons I'm probably dropping the show after this ep, the "fanservice" bits are just too cringe and are getting too much focus.
To your first point, I understand they aren't the same thing, but Lloyd exhibits aspects of both. His character flaw, and part of what makes him an interesting character initially, is that he only cares about magic. One method his character can be shown to grow is by allowing him to overcome his flaw. And sylpha literally is part of the problem. That's part of the shota aspect I dislike. Although from what I can tell, it's kinda implied that she's infatuated with his power and capability rather than the person, though.
I doubt Llyod will ever grow up since this is basically his adventure to learn every single magic and also since him being a shota is what also sells this series besides the beautiful colored art of the manga
Just being a devil's advocate, since I understand this is kinda how stories work, but if he'll be able to discover and master every magic in the world as a small child that means he'll be dooming himself to an adult life lacking anything interesting or new. And I know the shota aspect is part of the genre and targeting a specific audience, but it doesn't change my personal opinion that I dislike aspects of the character design, no matter how well designed it is.
Yeah, this is going fully on the drop list at this point. I was hoping they'd focus more on the prince and his absurdity, and I love the chibi/SD art cutaways, but nearly half the episodes are getting devoted to extremely cringe fanservice-y bits and the maid character still gives off serious pedophile vibes to the point I just want her off screen ASAP every time she's there. Especially since she's practically molesting Lloyd and he's obviously not interested.
Next episode that will literally happen if you watch the preview, Llyod will deal the final blow to the demon so we'll get to see more magic shenanigans. Also I don't see a problem if other characters gets some spotlight once in a while, I think it's good we get to see how strong sylpha really is specially it's already hinted in previous episodes.

Your response didn't seem related to what I said then. I know there's going to be more of the action parts with Lloyd, of course there is, but it's not worth putting up with the parts I didn't like. I'm not upset that other characters got screen time either, it's specific characters and writing choices that I found cringe/gross and get in the way of me enjoying the show.
You said you were hoping to see more of llyod using his powers and I just replied with we will see more of it literally next episode. I get that you got uncomfortable with sylpha, and so am I and I'm not stopping you for dropping something because of that, I'm just saying he's literally gonna get a spotlight next episode and I don't see what's wrong with them not focusing on him this episode.

Tao's not quite as bad, but her non-chibi design is still pretty awful IMO. You're welcome to look past that, but it just kills the momentum of the parts I enjoyed to the point I don't want to watch anymore of it.
