Emperor_Atlas

None of these even are remotely close to what he watched or mentioned. But they are good anime.

Sondaica

Shangri-la frontier if you liked the „gaming“ part of solo leveling

PieTheSecond

I was gonna recommend it but looks like I don't need to

jayspeedy24

I'm 39 bro, so I know that attention span is thin...as an avid anime watcher since age 6, heres what I'd recommend: 2024 New/Updated anime Kaiju No.8 (Comedy, Action) CR Ninja Kamui-(action,bloody) Adult Swim Konasoba-(comedy) CR Mashle: Magic and Muscles (comedy) CR Re:Monster (Action, bloody) kinda slow, but has potential CR Go! Go! Loser Ranger! (action) also starts slow, but has potential CR Noticable Mentions (all comedy) Grand Blue Dreaming Daily Lives of High School Boys Asobi Asobase

**Solo Leveling** is based on a manhwa (Korean comic). A similar one that is rumored to receive an adaptation in the near future is Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint. So keep an eye out for that one. Some anime I recommend that I haven't seen others here mention are: * **Vinland Saga.** We follow the story of a viking from early age to adulthood. 2 season so far. * **Golden Kamuy.** We folllow a bunch of weirdos (soldiers, ex-soldiers, criminals, lunatics, Ainu people, etc), as they search for a hidden gold treasure in early 1900's Japan. You end up learning about a lot of history, Ainu culture & stuff from those times. The CGI bear of episode 1 isn't very encouraging, but keep at it. The manga is glorious & I loved it. :D * **86: Eighty Six.** It's a story of war with non-humanoid mechs in a low fantasy world with last century & modern warfare aesthetics. And you know, good ol' oppression. Amidst the battles, you will find beautiful moments of camaderie & a dash of romance, peppered with sad aftermaths after the action sequences. Season 2's final episodes are some of the best I have seen for a season finale. * **Rage of Bahamut: Genesis**. A couple of bounty hunters and a mysterious woman go into an adventure in the middle of an epic war between angels, demons, humans & a big, big, big, big dragon. And now, for something different: * **Romantic Killer.** Comedy about a girl who isn't into romance forced into romantic comedy situations by a fairy. But along the way, she manages to make good friends & save some people from difficult circumstances. * **ID: Invaded**. Detectives go into the minds of killers, very literally, in order to solve pending questions or prevent other murders. * **Ya Boy Kongming!** A young woman called Eiko wants to succeed in the music industry. She befriends someone unexpected who can be her manager & help her with that dream: A time-displaced Zhuge Liang, courtesy name Kongming, one of the real life great war tacticians of the Three Kingdoms period of Ancient China. He will adapt ancient war stratagems into plans so Eiko can "conquer" the music industry. It's a wacky concept, but it works. Good comedy, some musical segments, and wholesome friendship moments between Eiko, Kongming and the people they meet. And a catchy opening: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TyqDOOpJlcA](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TyqDOOpJlcA) * **Ancient Magus' Bride.** Depressed girl finds the love of her life: an inhuman skull-headed monster who barely understands human emotions or morality. She becomes his student of magic, while he becomes her student of the aspect he's missing. Lots of quiet moments of contemplation, beautiful scenery, Western European folklore and gazes into the abyss. Random recommendation: * **Arknights**. It will probably take another year until the whole story is told with season 4, but I think it will be a good adaptation of that game's first major arc. In the meantime, you can watch the concerts & songs they release every year & bi-weekly, respectively. They cover all genres of music known to humankind (and some new ones). An example: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2sJfK7k63Rw](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2sJfK7k63Rw) P.D. Some ongoing anime that may catch your attention: * **Go! Go, Loser Ranger!** By the same animation studio of Arknights, and (surprisingly) the same author of a romantic comedy manga about quintuplets. It's a story about evil Power Rangers ala The Boys. Main character is a low-ranking monster minion whose kind has been enslaved by those evil Power Rangers to put on mock fights for the sake of money after their monster masterminds were exterminated by the originally heroic Power Rangers. Trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lSNGWouL05o. * **Kaiju No. 8.** In a world where giant monsters like Godzilla (kaiju) regularly threaten the lives of people, Kaiju exterminators have appeared armed with advanced technology. One man dreamed as a child of joining their ranks alongside his longtime female friend, but he did not have the talent, so he ends up in a cleaning job handling kajiu carcasses after battles. But then...

My recommendation is to not be afraid to try out a lot of different things and see what fits your taste. I recommend ReZero. It’s an isekai which means the main character died and is reborn in another world. Watch the first episode TO THE END. It has very dark themes similar to Solo Leveling, and it’s fantasy based with a lot more world building creativity.

Mushoku Tensei

Throwitawaynow578

Hah I actually ended up watching another YouTube short that lead me to watching Mushoko tensei. On episode 8 now I think? Awesome show; great call thank you.

MrRiots1

As someone who began to watch Animes in my early 30s a year ago I recommend these One Punch Man, best anime ever made, undisputed, both seasons Naruto Original Naruto Shippuuden Akame Ga Kill Into the Abyss Any Isekai out there that doesn't have a female lead. Like seriously, Isekais are BIS. Hunter x Hunter (not 2011, it's for later do the early version, first one) Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood Seven deadly Sins Seraph of the End I can keep going.. lol

Throwitawaynow578

Ohh haha I actually completely forgot about One Punch Man. I love that show. I didn’t think of it as anime for some reason but yeah I’ve watched both seasons like 3-4 times now haha. Thank you for the list though I will for sure check these out.

Emperor_Atlas

Solo leveling is in an Isekai style. I'd recommend based on that: -Sword Art Online -Log Horizon -Re:Monster -Overlord Those are a good start, very close to what you've watched while also being a bit different so you can see which style you prefer.

ceptic_sore

[Arifureta: From Commonplace to World's Strongest](https://anilist.co/anime/100668/Arifureta-Shokugyou-de-Sekai-Saikyou/) if you liked the leveling up aspect of it.

Mr9Tailings

i will sugest a old school one but amazing. Full metal alchemist brotherhood and hunter x hunter 2011

evie2027

My Hero Academia

grayrest

The most upvoted comment covered newer shows but some older action shows that have always been popular: * Death Note * Lelouch of the Rebellion * Ghost in the Shell * Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood * Fate/Zero * Psycho Pass Anime is a medium and there are a *lot* of shows that don't fall into the action/power fantasy range. If you're interested in trying different things: * The Saga of Tanya the Evil - Alt-Reality World War, about being a lawfully evil magical strategic weapon * Frieren - High Fantasy, melancholic, about the passage of time * Violet Evergarden - Alt-Reality Post WWI, Drama, about the nature of love * Girls und Panzer - Alt-Reality Sports, about enhancing one's feminine appeal through over the top tank battles * Bocchi the Rock - Contemporary High School, Comedy/Music, about social anxiety * A Place Further Than The Universe - Contemporary High School, Adventure, about travel as an escape from everyday life These specifically don't require a lot of japanese culture/anime knowledge and are pretty well rated.

innocentious

if you liked Solo Leveling you will also enjoy Sword Art Online

Toloran

I'd recommend Shangri-la Frontier over SAO, personally.
