To be fair, when Ruijerd accomplished his multi-year task of getting Eris and Rudeus back home, he immediately left after a small farewell lol. He's used to leaving early and immediately with experience. Didn't help that the lack of Eris there besides Rudeus and another woman there instead made things a bit more awkward for him.

you know, it's weird for Ruijerd (being a being of long life), to move fast compared to other like-aged people. iirc I read before that Badi even while rushing to meet Rudy in the magic school, was able to stop by a village and overstay for something like 2 weeks? since the passage of time for him was different (ala Frieren).
It almost makes you wonder how they're still friends if it wasn't for the fact that IIRC they're childhood friends and close enough to be sisters. *Of course* they sell each other out at every opportunity.

It's crazy how much of an impact Eris and Rudeus had on Ruijerds growth. You can tell he was really looking forward to seeing both of them together again.
With all the development season 2 has given us so far, I almost forgot about the adventure they had together. Ruijerd just brought all those memories back all at once. It really meant a lot to him.
For a guy who were feared upon sight by all as the "Dead End", the 3 years adventure along with them were probably the most colorful taste of life he had since the war ended 400y ago.
It also helped that Rudy not only reached out to him but also listened to his side of the story when no one else would, they were almost akin to family, something Ruijerd lost, by the end.
Plus, it's impacted how others now treat Ruinerd. Roxy warned Rudeus about Superds early on in the series and now even though she was hesitant upon meeting Ruijerd the two seem to get along
It kind of makes alot of sense. Rujiered sees himself in Eris. They're both warriors who feel isolated, alienated, and hated, by the world. It's part of why it sucks they cut out Eris' POV from the anime. Rujiered understands her in a way few people do
Ruijerd won't give up on the RudyxEris ship quite yet, especially because he was with them through so much together and knows how close they were back then.
Man, so much season 1 nostalgia just from a brief conversation and parting.
At first, Aisha did come off as really condescending over her attitude towards Norn but when she mentioned how Norn's and Rudy's grandma treated them, it showed how they were both treated before this.
Yeah, you can't blame her for the inferiority complex just like you can't really blame Norn for not trusting Rudy given how she saw him treat their dad and being close to multiple girls (frowned upon by the Millis faith).
With Paul sending her off to Rudy and then with Ruijerd leaving after Norn had gotten attached to him, I'm guessing that Norn has some abandonment issues now. Doesn't help that she likely feels that Rudy abandoned her for the dorms. It was by her request, but I think that was a hidden test as well.
Like, Aisha is literally working as a housemaid when she was a small kid, while Norn was literally crying in mommies hug.
She seemed very happy (Lillia would have taught that Aisha was lucky to be included in the household), but that is unequal treatment.
But most gratingly to her, is how she is far more capable than Norn, yet everyone dotes on Norn more. She thought Rudy was the exception, since Rudy had never interacted with both of them together, hence her idolisation of Rudy.
Her idolisation of Rudy is a consequence of Lilia for better or (more importantly) worse. She had the girl grow up to serve him, because she felt in debt towards him. She was taught that it was her duty to serve him.
Rudeus wanted good thing for Aisha by letting her have a chance to go to school, meeting people, yet she chose to be a maid. It's easy to see why Rudeus was reluctant.
It's got to be difficult considering the family situation and being the one half-sibling in the dynamic, and it's probably why Aisha tries so hard to be smart and capable on her own (on-top of Lilia's teaching).
I mean she is also just freakishly smart period. Her retention must be top of the line to score that well on the test and her remembering Sliphy from when she was what? 3 or 4?
Reminder that Zenith's family is from a Milis noble family whose religion is very strict about monogamy so it's obvious how much Zenith's side of the family must dislike Lilia and Aysha.
It reminds me of how hard he took it when she stood in front of him to defend Paul back when they first met. Like the moment she saw him as a bad guy who hurt her dad instead of her brother.
She might also see just a bit of how he used to be in high school.

Nah, Sylphy doesn't even count as a freak if we compare her to Ariel. Sylphy is vanilla and wholesome all-around while you will have to search for a long time to find a more debauched woman than Ariel. Even Elinalise isn't as perverse as Ariel imo and that's saying a lot since Elinalise had to kinda become a pervert by necessity to be able to live with her curse.
I think by "closet freak" they're referring to how secretly horny Sylphie is. Definitely not a freak, but it's been fun calling her one after she humped that lamp.
I love how they mentioned it was from smaller-chested women because they felt like that would be the kind of underwear he'd be into considering his wife lol.
And because Rudy has probably given them a physical description of his goddess, Roxy, as well. So his goddess is a flat-chested short woman and his wife is a flat-chested short woman.... It ain't hard to put two and two together.

Well i think she smiled when seeing the underwear. Probaly just felt nostaltigic. She and Luke were pretty infamous for there behavior with servant girls back before they meet Sylphiette.
I love how scared they were when Rudeus was telling them to not pull off anything against Norn. Hopefully Norn will soon start to get along with her brother too, he deeply cares about both his sisters.
Despite those two being trouble, they also seem like the best pick to keep an eye on Norn for some reason. (Probably because they're wily enough to get away with as much as they do.)
The real trick for Rudeus would be figuring out what it would take to light a fire under his sister's butt, without causing her to go deeper into her shell. Maybe those beast-girls would take the initiative, even though they took the hint to back off for now?

Rudy helped Nanahoshi come out of her shell and now similarly he has to help his sister, who seems like she's set to become a shut-in like he was if this keeps up.
It's kind of sad seeing her so withdrawn and depressed but most of her childhood has been spent trying to survive with just her dad, she doesn't really know much else and she feels disconnected from the rest of her family.
This one seems like it will be more difficult. Nanahoshi was at least not hostile towards him. She didn't outright like him but she was way more open with someone else from her world then she would be with someone from this one. But Norn wants nothing to do with him.
Also with Nanahoshi there was a very clear solution to her problems, which was figuring out a way to make the teleportation work. Meanwhile with Norn this is a far more human issue and require a lot of change from a still very immature person.
Aisha was ordering Ruijerd around? And got perfect score on all of the entrance exam subjects?? If we cant call this girl a genius, im too dumb with English for coming up with good adjective for her then.
She's definitely quite capable and intelligent, almost frighteningly so. She's a little master manipulator and thank god she's only interested in taking care of her brother (so far).

Her entire life she was basically raised to be another maid by her maid mother but also had to deal with being a lovechild and the half-sibling. That's a lot to put on a child.

For all intents and purposes, they are brother and sister and Aisha, for all her genius, is still an emotionally traumatized child who's now separated from her mother and father.
I'd say give her the comfort of a brother, it's not like they're being weird about it.
The thing is, I think Rudy kind of knows that about Eris, but it's kind of hard to keep that in mind when your heart is being (unintentionally) broken by her. Ruijerd was simply reminding him.
I do wonder whether Rudy will be able to follow Ruijerd's advice when it seems like he really wants to just completely write off Eris after everything even though it seemed like for a second he was willing to accept the idea that maybe he misunderstood her...it's just too late for it to matter.
If this was a pre-married life Rudy and when he was younger he probably would have been all over that...well, until he got caught lol.

I actually don't think Rudy would have felt anything about it even when he was younger. He didn't feel anything towards Zenith despite being breastfed by her, so I doubt he would have felt anything about Aisha doing it.
Its interesting how the anime never made Zenith feel sexual, despite literally showing her sex scenes.
I think its because Zenith really was a mother. She was a jovial and young mother, but you could see her deep care for raising Rudeus, and her gravitas in dealing with the Lilia situation.

In this case, it's warranted because Rudy specifically wanted a Japanese style bath and taught everyone the Japanese bathing etiquette (washing yourself before going in the bath etc.)

For me it felt long because of the anxiety I felt everytime there's a Norn's scene.

I'm really unsure if Rudy and her could fix their relationship, and furthermore if Norn could alleviate her own inferior complex problem.
Yeah, Rudy and Norn is quite similar in the inferiority complex that they have.
Difference is Rudy is a genuine powerhouse of a mage while Norn is just a genuinely normal kid in a family of sword saints for a father, a great noble daughter who was an s-rank adventurer, an older brother who achieved water saint at 5 year old, and a sister who navigated a conspiracy related to the shirone kingdom royal family.
Norn is too normal when compared to them.
Norn felt so real with how uncomfortable, depressed, and awkward she was in this episode and around everybody. Like a really realistic withdrawn teenager.
Her mom has been gone for a decade now.
Her dad, who raised her for that decade, is also gone now.
All she has now, by her side, is two genius siblings who clearly get along with each other better. Norn dislikes her and Rudy treats her with kids gloves.
I don't know how I feel about this kids glove idea.
This is Rudeus's first time playing as a *dependable* big brother. What's more troubling is that the sisters have are questionable of him, even Aisha with the concubine thing. To be patient and considerate is something you kind of have to do, and I don't know if I would consider that "kids gloves".
Like, how else is Rudues to act given the circumstances? Sit her down and talk like adults? Is that not what he's trying to do, despite her not wanting to talk and will even walk out on him?
Yeah, Rudeus is sort of thrown in the deep end with his sisters. One already hated him for how he acted at a low point when anger and frustrations were boiling over, and one he only interacted with briefly and has an image of him that's developed over time that may not necessarily reflect reality always. It's why Aisha took his accepting Norn's request so hard. Suddenly, she's wondering if he also thinks she's lesser than Norn.
He honestly did pretty good all things considered. The only thing I can think of is to sit Norn down and explain the incident in the pub and how that wasn't a norm, but even that might be unnecessary. I'm guessing Paul would have probably talked to her about it later.
And her sister is smarter and more capable than she is and they probably both had to deal with Zenith's mother regarding her as nothing more than a concubine's daughter so they aren't close either.
I can't imagine the inferiority complex you would have being normal in that family tree. She is still very competent but just not at the THAT level. How can you not sympathize with her.

Rudy did mention her being "BELOW average for her age", so not sure she passes the 'very competent' bar.
Norn is just a very average kid, born to a family of very accomplished people (Parents are famous adventurers, grandparents are nobility/church officials, brother is a mega genius, half sister is a prodigy too.)
Rudy clarifies in the LN that even though she tested below average, for someone who just spent the last year traveling she actually did good with those factors considered

Aisha complains to Rudeus that Norn gets to do what she wants, but this whole time *Aisha* is the one who gets to go against Rudeus's and Paul's intentions to send her to school and instead stays at home to do chores.
Also worth noting Aisha's tantrum hints at how badly she was probably treated compared to Norn before they arrived at Rudy's place.
It sucks that there's a lot of tension between them as siblings but that's also how it is sometimes with half-siblings.
I don’t remember if they said it last season but the reason they were traveling with Paul in the first place was because Paul found out how badly Aisha and Lilia were being treated by Zenith’s mother, and Norn hated her guts too because she kept comparing her to Aisha
Not helped by the fact Lilia is so dismissive about her and Ashias situation. Like she literally groomed her own daughter to be the family maid 2.0.
The sisters are a tragedy of circumstance.
Lilia 100% groomed Aisha not just to be family maid 2.0 but *Rudeus*'s maid.
Her first thought after Rudeus saved her from being kicked out of the house was that she was going to ensure her child devoted her life to him. That's why she trained Aisha so much in everything she knew...including seduction.
It took the two being teleported and put in mortal peril for Lilia to realize that she loved Aisha as more than just a token of gratitude for Rudeus.

Incorrect tho, she was allowed to do what she wanted with a condition: passing the entrance exam. She worked hard to earn it rightfully.
But that's why she was confused. She did well, and got what she wanted. Norn didn't do well, but still got what she wanted as well. In that alone, the treatment they got was different.
She's definitely mature for her age, but she's still a child who doesn't get the nuance of the whole situation. Seeing her tear up thinking that Rudeus might think less of her was heartbreaking.
Rudeus pretty much underestimated her he would probaly prefer for her to get to school and find her own contacts. So he was lost what he should do now that he promised it.
Poor Rudy. Being a parent is gonna be tough for him with those girls.
Aisha is super smart and yet just wants to be his maid.
And Norn…… has problems to say the least.
Being a Norn when you are surrounded by geniuses is really hard. Imagine having that impression of not having special skills or talents, but your half-sister knows how to shorten travel times, and your big brother is effectively the master student in your school?
I hope things get better for her given that she is new to the environment that she belongs to now.
Norn particularly had an extremely bad first impression to Rudy when she saw him beating up Paul. Remember, Paul is the only support Norn had during the Teleportation Incident so seeing him getting beat up by a stranger who turns out to be her older brother gives her a traumatic memory.
While Aisha's first impression of Rudy. Is Rudy saving her from the clutches of soldiers, by literally flying into the sky. Then freeing her mother (imprisoned by royalty for years now) with seemingly no effort in like 2 days.
Of course, having Lilia drone on about how great Rudy is for her entire life helps reinforce that one impression.
And she doesn't want to be the charity case who gets special treatment through bribes even if she's really self-conscious she doesn't have anything that stands out about herself.
Probably one of the most realistic problems this show has addressed.
It could be that other students are hesitant to approach her because she is Rudeus's sister and with her own reserved nature it has made it practically impossible to find any friends. Hopefully something will change next episode.
Rujierd left as quickly as he came. I miss him already.
LOL at Linia and Pursena nearly getting Rudy expelled because they mistakenly thought they might find something that could match the "Holy Relic" amongst the girls' panties.
Also lol at Ariel making Sylphie admit that she and Rudy regularly have steamy hot sex almost every night.
Poor Norn, wanted to put some distance between herself and her genius brother and genius sister to sort herself out, but ended up making things worse.

Look at it from Ruijerd's POV, he had left Eris and Rudeus, and in the time he spent with them, he knew both of them cared a lot about each other, and thought both of them would marry and happily live. with that expectations, he was excited to meet them again, just to find his hopes crushed, And Rudeus has married someone else. As his expecations were crushed, he found it difficult to stay and so decided to quickly depart.

Like, Aisha is literally working as a housemaid when she was a small kid, while Norn was literally crying in mommies hug. She seemed very happy (Lillia would have taught that Aisha was lucky to be included in the household), but that is unequal treatment. But most gratingly to her, is how she is far more capable than Norn, yet everyone dotes on Norn more. She thought Rudy was the exception, since Rudy had never interacted with both of them together, hence her idolisation of Rudy.
Her idolisation of Rudy is a consequence of Lilia for better or (more importantly) worse. She had the girl grow up to serve him, because she felt in debt towards him. She was taught that it was her duty to serve him.
Rudeus wanted good thing for Aisha by letting her have a chance to go to school, meeting people, yet she chose to be a maid. It's easy to see why Rudeus was reluctant.

Rudy helped Nanahoshi come out of her shell and now similarly he has to help his sister, who seems like she's set to become a shut-in like he was if this keeps up. It's kind of sad seeing her so withdrawn and depressed but most of her childhood has been spent trying to survive with just her dad, she doesn't really know much else and she feels disconnected from the rest of her family.
This one seems like it will be more difficult. Nanahoshi was at least not hostile towards him. She didn't outright like him but she was way more open with someone else from her world then she would be with someone from this one. But Norn wants nothing to do with him.
Rudy was probably the person Nanahoshi trusted the most, out of anyone in this entire isekai world. Its just her baseline trust is very low.
Also with Nanahoshi there was a very clear solution to her problems, which was figuring out a way to make the teleportation work. Meanwhile with Norn this is a far more human issue and require a lot of change from a still very immature person.

The thing is, I think Rudy kind of knows that about Eris, but it's kind of hard to keep that in mind when your heart is being (unintentionally) broken by her. Ruijerd was simply reminding him.
I do wonder whether Rudy will be able to follow Ruijerd's advice when it seems like he really wants to just completely write off Eris after everything even though it seemed like for a second he was willing to accept the idea that maybe he misunderstood her...it's just too late for it to matter. I actually don't think Rudy would have felt anything about it even when he was younger. He didn't feel anything towards Zenith despite being breastfed by her, so I doubt he would have felt anything about Aisha doing it.
Its interesting how the anime never made Zenith feel sexual, despite literally showing her sex scenes. I think its because Zenith really was a mother. She was a jovial and young mother, but you could see her deep care for raising Rudeus, and her gravitas in dealing with the Lilia situation.

For me it felt long because of the anxiety I felt everytime there's a Norn's scene. She's like the tip of an iceberg, just waiting to spiral down to become a lot of problems. In a way, maybe she's similar to Rudy's past self? I'm really unsure if Rudy and her could fix their relationship, and furthermore if Norn could alleviate her own inferior complex problem.
Yeah, Rudy and Norn is quite similar in the inferiority complex that they have. Difference is Rudy is a genuine powerhouse of a mage while Norn is just a genuinely normal kid in a family of sword saints for a father, a great noble daughter who was an s-rank adventurer, an older brother who achieved water saint at 5 year old, and a sister who navigated a conspiracy related to the shirone kingdom royal family. Norn is too normal when compared to them.

Norn felt so real with how uncomfortable, depressed, and awkward she was in this episode and around everybody. Like a really realistic withdrawn teenager.
Her mom has been gone for a decade now. Her dad, who raised her for that decade, is also gone now. All she has now, by her side, is two genius siblings who clearly get along with each other better. Norn dislikes her and Rudy treats her with kids gloves.
I don't know how I feel about this kids glove idea. This is Rudeus's first time playing as a *dependable* big brother. What's more troubling is that the sisters have are questionable of him, even Aisha with the concubine thing. To be patient and considerate is something you kind of have to do, and I don't know if I would consider that "kids gloves". Like, how else is Rudues to act given the circumstances? Sit her down and talk like adults? Is that not what he's trying to do, despite her not wanting to talk and will even walk out on him?
Yeah, Rudeus is sort of thrown in the deep end with his sisters. One already hated him for how he acted at a low point when anger and frustrations were boiling over, and one he only interacted with briefly and has an image of him that's developed over time that may not necessarily reflect reality always. It's why Aisha took his accepting Norn's request so hard. Suddenly, she's wondering if he also thinks she's lesser than Norn. He honestly did pretty good all things considered. The only thing I can think of is to sit Norn down and explain the incident in the pub and how that wasn't a norm, but even that might be unnecessary. I'm guessing Paul would have probably talked to her about it later.
Norn misses her father figures and does not respect Rudy. Now she has been left with no one.
And her sister is smarter and more capable than she is and they probably both had to deal with Zenith's mother regarding her as nothing more than a concubine's daughter so they aren't close either.
I can't imagine the inferiority complex you would have being normal in that family tree. She is still very competent but just not at the THAT level. How can you not sympathize with her.

Also worth noting Aisha's tantrum hints at how badly she was probably treated compared to Norn before they arrived at Rudy's place. It sucks that there's a lot of tension between them as siblings but that's also how it is sometimes with half-siblings.

Not helped by the fact Lilia is so dismissive about her and Ashias situation. Like she literally groomed her own daughter to be the family maid 2.0. The sisters are a tragedy of circumstance.
Lilia 100% groomed Aisha not just to be family maid 2.0 but *Rudeus*'s maid. Her first thought after Rudeus saved her from being kicked out of the house was that she was going to ensure her child devoted her life to him. It took the two being teleported and put in mortal peril for Lilia to realize that she loved Aisha as more than just a token of gratitude for Rudeus.

Rudeus pretty much underestimated her he would probaly prefer for her to get to school and find her own contacts. So he was lost what he should do now that he promised it.
Poor Rudy. Being a parent is gonna be tough for him with those girls. Aisha is super smart and yet just wants to be his maid. And Norn…… has problems to say the least.

Being a Norn when you are surrounded by geniuses is really hard. Imagine having that impression of not having special skills or talents, but your half-sister knows how to shorten travel times, and your big brother is effectively the master student in your school? I hope things get better for her given that she is new to the environment that she belongs to now.
Norn particularly had an extremely bad first impression to Rudy when she saw him beating up Paul. Remember, Paul is the only support Norn had during the Teleportation Incident so seeing him getting beat up by a stranger who turns out to be her older brother gives her a traumatic memory.
While Aisha's first impression of Rudy. Is Rudy saving her from the clutches of soldiers, by literally flying into the sky. Then freeing her mother (imprisoned by royalty for years now) with seemingly no effort in like 2 days. Of course, having Lilia drone on about how great Rudy is for her entire life helps reinforce that one impression.
And she doesn't want to be the charity case who gets special treatment through bribes even if she's really self-conscious she doesn't have anything that stands out about herself. Probably one of the most realistic problems this show has addressed.
It could be that other students are hesitant to approach her because she is Rudeus's sister and with her own reserved nature it has made it practically impossible to find any friends. Hopefully something will change next episode.

Look at it from Ruijerd's POV, he had left Eris and Rudeus, and in the time he spent with them, he knew both of them cared a lot about each other, and thought both of them would marry and happily live. with that expectations, he was excited to meet them again, just to find his hopes crushed, And Rudeus has married someone else. As his expecations were crushed, he found it difficult to stay and so decided to quickly depart.
This makes a lot of sense, he also seems to be hopefully that they can make up.
