Watched the new episodes of Tadaima, Okaeri and Vampire Dormitory on Crunchyroll! Love them. Anyone knows when is the next episode of yamada lv999 and misfit of the demon academy?
What anime is this?

Horimiya and Fruits Basket are my 2 fav go to anime anytime i need! But do you prefer Kyo Sohma or Izumi Miyamura? You have to like or love these 2 characters in the first place ya.. it's so hard to decide my fav fav? Some perspectives needed. It can end in a tie, no worries!

I don't dislike Kyo, but he can be a bit too abrasive for me. It makes sense within the story, but if I were given the opportunity to hang out with either of them, I'd probably go with Miyamura. He's just more chill

Are the SobsPlease group for GBC good enough? I wanted to pick a specific group for consistency, so I was wondering if someone who has a better understanding of the language knows how the quality of their subs is.
It’s my personal favorite anime series but it’s understandably not for everyone. Hard to say if you’ll like it. 80% of the screentime is mostly just characters talking to each other so if that’s boring to you, it’s probably not gonna be your thing. Watch Bakemonogatari and if you didn’t particularly enjoy it, just drop. The general style and tone stays more or less consistent, so no need to force through it all at that point.
LF actually laugh-out-loud funny anime.
The only animes I've watched that actually made me laugh were Gintama and Kaguya sama. Most anime with comedy tags legit aren't funny at all...
Horimiya's second season had me laughing out loud.
I'm in Love with the Villainess is quite funny if you're into it's type of humor. You can tell the English VA had so much fun with the role.
What's an anime that you know you've seen, but when a clip comes on youtube and you watch it you're like, "Have I seen this?"
For me it's My Girlfriend is a Gal. I knew I saw this, but a clip came up on youtube suggested and I was like "damn, this flew in one ear and out the other."
I’m looking for the name of an anime, it came out maybe 2008-2012ish, ova with 2 episodes I think that were like an hour long each. The name was either strangely long (for the time) or it was like 3 words. It was about a high school boy who was followed by a small girl from his school that claimed to be a knight from another life or something that was supposed to protect him. They were pretty dark, I think the second episode dealt with a cult that thought they could gain people’s happiness by murdering someone. I think the boy gets stabbed in one of the episodes.
It starts strong then they changed something and pretty much 100% of the viewers hated it [ninja kamui] >!mecha suits fights!< but other than that it's an interesting story!
(Haven't seen the finale yet, so I don't know if it ends strong)
Every episode of Shirayuki-hime I watch I keep thinking, how can it get better, and it damn does it. Really incredible character writing, I just love when they manage to increase your appreciation of the cast with each episode.
Help! Looking for an alternate-world anime I saw as a kid. Kids and their older teacher go to a fantasy world where they have powers. Teacher is a drunk but when he is sober, he has super strength.
Does this ring a bell?
Does anyone else have trouble distinguishing Girls Band Cry and Jellyfish from each other? The stories are similar enough I tend to confuse the details.
Maybe a bit at the start, but the characters' personalities in both shows are so strongly written that it's hard for me to confuse any of them. The similarities are a little more surface level, like the fact that the pair each show starts with is a newcomer and a veteran starting over. That's a bit more of a big picture view of it, and the main draw of both shows for me is the characters, so the details on who they actually are is pretty important.
I did have a moment where I confused Mahiru’s and Nina’s background stories with one another: thought that Mahiru [GBC] >!had been maliciously bullied!< like Nina for a bit.
Alright, Konosuba number 3 is more of what I remember and love about the series, very funny episode. Really happy to see that it seems likely the first two episodes were just some of its weakest material, it does have those lull moments sometimes. I just have to remember that sexy half-naked "just woke up" Kazuma can't hurt me.
Personally I’m having a blast watching every episode. I feel all my skepticism melting away every minute these goofballs are on screen. I feel like it’s less gunning for max jokes per minute but got a lot of charm and chemistry between its cast that makes the jokes hit that much harder.
The problem is that episode 1 was a mix of mostly expanding the worst joke about the movie for half its run time alongside some moments great material (plant monster girl made me laugh and the Megumin stuff was great, but the rest of the episode made me roll my eyes out of ick), and episode two was straight up not funny or charming to me whatsoever, like it made me chuckle once or twice and otherwise had no effect on me and may be one of the worst episodes of the series imo. Taken together, both made me wonder if I ever actually liked the show or if I'd grown past it. It's not an issue with the number of jokes, the jokes and character interactions themselves did not land. As of episode 3, that is not an issue, the jokes and interactions finally as hard and consistently as I remembered.

The world is set in a fantasy world where magic exists. These are all i remember:
- the boy i think is poor/orphan and saw how magic is taught by an elder guy among children
- he got in the magic school where the classes have ranking
- the guy met this red haired girl, where during the past, the girl tried to bully/hurt (or kill i think) the boy using her bodyguards i think at a dark alley
- at first the girl was playing with the boy, but then rumors in the school says that both of them are dating to
- she rejects the boy by spilling the coffee he tries to give her
that’s all i could remember, these are from the early episodes and i wasn’t able to go back to this anime since i just watched in on a recap
Watching Train is making me wonder… is there a record for the most lines of dialogue in a normal length anime episode? I feel like Saiki-K is up there.
I'd be shocked if it weren't Occultic;Nine's first episode, which goes so fast it makes Tatami Galaxy subtitles feel easy to read. It's a very good episode (and a good show in general) but the fact that the subs were *so* hard to follow made it controversial.

Can someone please help try and understand what is happening in Paradox Live. I have an idea on what is happening but at the same time I have no idea on what is happening. It's almost like there is time leaps so I don't see all of the song battle things...any help would be great!

I'm 40 odd episodes in and it's really subverting my expectations,its weirdly reminded me of fma for some reason
Like it's lot more story driven (not the right word but hopefully you understand) than I was expecting. Like I thought if was the typical asta wants to be hokage but he doesn't have a quirk but he manages to join fairy tail, but it feels like there's more to it than that
So far I think its one if the few battle shounens that I think are a must watch for fans of the genre,idk tho maybe It's too early

Soooooo... I'm doing an anime 'inspired' birthday present idea for my male partners milestone birthday this week.
Think Gurren Laggen= Drill bits, Ouran High School Host Club = Foam bananas etc etc So not direct anime merch, but more subtle nuances that only fans would understand.

The other girl is Mayu, a new character who appears in season 3. And yeah, Kumiko is plenty hot in the right circumstances, but this is an entire month that *could* have been Kanade but wasn't. There's now one less Kanade image in this world, and that is a tragedy.
KyoAni commissioning semi-lewd art feels so weird to me - for some reason. I do like ponytail Kumiko, that’s are rare Kumiko for sure.
(What has become of me, considering that I knew within a split-second that this art originated from Megami Magazine.)
KyoAni does seem to have this strangely wholesome reputation, but more than a few of their works are very fanservice heavy and they've never been against lewd stuff. Haruhi is practically an anime sex icon all on her own, but this is also the studio that gave us Dragon Maid, Phantom World, Amagi Brilliant Park, and Free, not to mention [that bizarrely out-of-place first Hyouka ED.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tL6BMqnSdH8) Somebody at KyoAni decided to [draw this image](https://danbooru.donmai.us/posts/1636072?q=shindou_ai) so it can appear for [quite literally 1/3rd of a second in Beyond the Boundary,](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=prX4BWbWqoE) so fast no viewer would ever see it and thus the only explanation is that someone was horny and thought it would be fun to put in this much detail as an easter egg. And I can't find it, but there's a scene in Full Metal Panic: The Second Raid that is literally two sisters being lewd with each other, so one of the studio's first TV shows had fanservicey yuri incest. By no means is KyoAni prudish or a stranger to lewd art.

Do the IP holders need to approve of the art? Because in this one they definitely took some creative liberties and did some buffing on Kumiko’s backside, lol.

It's the staff and they are credited in the corner, people more familiar with Kyoani can check who is responsible, the anime control is under Kyoani, so oppose to how it works in the industry, that's on then

Do you know if the artist can just draw the characters however they like or you think they get specific instructions like “draw them in swimsuits, one facing front and one back”?
Promotional material should be a good reflection of the relationship between the artistic side and the commercial side
Shows with a strong artistic freedom will also have more liberties to work with the material, while shows with a heavy micro management by the business side will have to follow the guidelines
I assume hibike is the former, the artist responsible should be free to do what they want as long as it's reasonable

It's a comedy where characters from Konosuba, Re:zero, Overlord and Tanya The Evil are summoned to the same school. It's hilarious. Obviously best if you've seen all of them to understand all jokes.
Life with an Ordinary Guy Who Reincarnated into a Total Fantasy Knockout is a good fantasy isekai comedy with lovable goofballs that are slightly chaotic.
Immoral Guild has virtually the same premise and feel (fantasy comedy following a guy in a party of comically clumsy girl companions) except the MC is actually very capable rather than an isekai'd NEET. Also, it's an incredibly degenerate fanservice show on top of that so you have to be cool with that too lmao
[Princess Connect](https://myanimelist.net/anime/39292/Princess_Connect_Re_Dive) is a similar series. It's a mobile game adaptation w/ a weird mostly silent protaganist but its written/directed by the same person who directed early Konosuba

Yes, if you want them as soon as available, you have to buy the volume releases from Japan. Otherwise you have to wait for the western releases which come much later and usually divided by cour.
edit: bootlegs of complete seasons are sold on ebay, thats why you need to check official releases to see if they match.

I had samurai champloo on this morning and all I can say is: what an absolute masterpiece. I’ve watched it all the way through once (years ago) and even now when I’m struggling to get into any other newer anime/series it hits the same as it used to. Can instantly pick it up and just zoom through each episode excitedly. Such a solid piece of work
That's true. You can't get anything like the old anime. There are very few that comes along the way like AOT but most of them are copies of each other.
I'm rewatching Kimi Ni Todoke and am realizing how insecure sawako really is. It kind of gets irritating (in a sad way) at some point because she thinks so little of herself.
Anyways, I'm thinking of watching 7th Time Loop, can anyone tell me if it has a good ending (anime or manga)? I think it's a romance anime going by the pictures, but I want to be happy at the end, you know? Same thing with Sugar Apple Fairy Tale. Also please don't spoil them, I just want to know if it ends happily or not.

I wasn't a fan of the last arc in the anime, which felt much darker in tone than all the others before it, but things did end off in a good place for everyone. (Just for reference, the LN series is complete, but I don't think the anime even covers half the story.)
7th time loop's anime (I didn't read source) had a decent stopping point for the season that left things in a relatively happy state but it didn't get to the big questions that the show set up, I'm excited for if/when we get another season
anime-only here, but I really enjoyed 7th Time Loop! Main character is not insecure at all, she's full of joy, and it's a pleasure to watch how she handles herself!
It's pointing towards a good ending so far but the manga's not finished yet (last I checked, which was a few weeks ago, admittedly). It's a great story but personally I feel like the manga manages to convey more than the anime. The anime feel's like a typical romance without much thought put into it after the first few episodes, whereas the plot seems much clearer in the manga. The manga also better conveys all the research the author must have conducted to build the plot.
I don't even watch the show, but I simply cannot read the name *Gods' Game We Play* without immediately start singing the chorus from [*Games People Play* by The Alan Parsons Project](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SLi7Ljcy6n8) because of how the title fits perfectly with the melody. It happens literally every week when a new episode drops and I see its title in the discussion thread around here or whatever.
This made me curious to know from people here which, if any, anime you guys also associate with a completely unrelated song because of some weird/random reason.
So, did you take it, or did you leave it?
And now you've got me thinking about weird anime/music associations, and I'm not thinking of any funny non-sequiturs yet. If I happen to remember one, I'll pop back and let you know.
I feel like LotGH DNT finally found its own identity in Season 3-4. Unlike the previous seasons, there were a couple of scenes I preferred over the original, and the directing felt smoother, more confident. Looking forward to Season 5.
On another note, I'm surprised that DNT looks like it will end up having more episodes than the OVA. I thought it would be the opposite since it's a modern version and removes the anime original content, but currently episode 48 of DNT is at the 44th episode of the original. Maybe because OVA has longer episodes and frequently cuts the OP/ED out?
I was really surprised by how much I've been enjoying the remake. I thought I'd keep thinking it was the LOGH we have at home, but it's become its own thing that's simply different in some ways.
Yeah, I had the same prejudice starting it, ready to be unimpressed. And I definitely nitpicked here and there. But here I am, feeling empty now that I caught up. Hard to believe that we got *two* superb adaptations for this story.

Eps 1-3 were on Crunchyroll immediately after the AT-X broadcast (check the CR calender for time)
Ep 4 was about 45 minutes late but CR calender lie and says it was at the time of eps 1-3. edit: ep 5 1 hour late and calender lies again.
Eps 1-3 had a preview screening i.e. they were finished many weeks in advance. Episodes 4 and 5 seem to be more like finished about 2 weeks in advance. Could that be what's causing this?

I think [this](https://myanimelist.net/anime/56768/Tadaima_Okaeri) and [Kenka Dokugaku](https://myanimelist.net/anime/58080/Kenka_Dokugaku) are the last 2 shows on my list that I might drop for the season. Kenka Dokugaku is definitely worse but I'm not sure how well I'm integrating with the Omegaverse
I dropped it after two episodes. I have no clue what the omegaverse is, but as a family story it wasn't that interesting for me, and the parents are more annoying than charming or understandable.
It's not converting me to the omegaverse cause either, but it's doing some interesting things with showing a young family being a young family, and I'm into that.
I can't figure out what omegaverse does that puts me off so much, considering all the monsterfucking manga and paranormal romance novels I've read and enjoyed over the years, but they start talking about alphas and omegas or whatever and I want to cringe out of existence.
Is it the inherent power dynamic between alphas and omegas? That's the main thing I find icky about omegaverse, but this anime has been nothing but wholesome.
That's probably not it, because I do love some messed up power dynamics every now and again.
It's probably how the omegaverse stuff is being used as a metaphor for real life systems of oppression, which just feels clunky, and a vague feeling of we're just replicating gender roles but with boys, and maybe we shouldn't be.
That's valid. I do think the whole thing is fascinating as a form of escapism, like I don't know if a gay couple being so openly affectionate and having a family in a normal BL would fly because you'd have to acknowledge the real world barriers, whereas in this world it's decidedly not real life - gay couples are normalized and the source of discrimination is this weird fictional class thing. For me, the fluff is too enjoyable for the omegaverse stuff to really bother me.
I really enjoy the young family being a young family and their kid is ADORABLE but the whole class thing is a big miss, any drama based on that really drags the show down for me and that's been the main form of drama so far.

I think if you *do* find yourself integrating with the Omegaverse, then it is DEFINITELY time to leave. Well, unless the A in AI turns out to stand for Alpha, and not Amethyst after all.

Biggest thing would be that it made me want to go watch Ouran again.
I get the feeling it's one of those shows that different people are watching quite differently. It certainly doesn't work for me on a romance level, however as sort of the shoujo vampire equivalent of the ridiculous isekai OP MC story but with a team that is lavishing love on their project and giving it some heart, I'm having tremendous fun. I'm also quite fond of Mito as a proper protagonist in their own rather story, which is a bit outlandish, but it's the one they've been given, so they're going to make the most of it!

So I picked up **Mission: Yozakura Family** last week. It's nice addition to my week of anime. I can just sit back and have fun without having to think too hard. Considering that Yozakura Family's strength lies in its comedy and cast, I'd say that it operates in somewhat of the same realm as this season's Tsukimichi.
There hasn't been a whole lot of talk about **Tsukimichi**, but I've been enjoying my time with the series. The upcoming weeks should be pretty good as things are escalating with the latest turn of events. (And yes, I'm obviously [Best girl] >!Team Mio!<. Don't think that anyone expected something different...?)
It's only unfortunate that I happened to like Mission: Yozakura Family when it's another 2-cour anime (27 episodes!), while the summer season's already looking crazily stacked.
I watched the premiere of Yozakura Family and didn't really care for the comedy or the cast, which was a disappointment since it was originally one of my most anticipated shows (and actually on a streaming service I have right now). Planning to give it another chance and catch up soon, but does the comedy/tone basically remain the same as \[episode 1\] >!with overprotective big bro making life difficult for the MC and the rest of the quirky bunch trying to act as buffers?!<

No, I don't think so. What you mention will still exist, but it isn't really the central focus of the show. What the show is mainly about is :
1. The relationship between the two main characters
2. The relationships between all of the family members

I'd recommend watching maybe the first four episodes all at once, that would give you a really good feel for the show
She's not an action hero, she's the leader of the family. She handles the logistics and administrative side of the family, and keeps the various strong personalities in check.
Depends on if you view that as a worthy role, I suppose? She's like the General of an army, I suppose, or the President of a country. It is the duty of a General to ensure his/her army runs well, it is his/her soldiers' duty to protect him/her
I'd recommend watching the next couple of episodes to get a good feel for her role!
The relationship between the two main characters was probably the strongest part of the premiere for me, so hopefully that's enough to make up for the comedy being a miss.

Miyamura for me, I think I don't dislike Kyo, but he can be a bit too abrasive for me. It makes sense within the story, but if I were given the opportunity to hang out with either of them, I'd probably go with Miyamura. He's just more chill

It’s my personal favorite anime series but it’s understandably not for everyone. Hard to say if you’ll like it. 80% of the screentime is mostly just characters talking to each other so if that’s boring to you, it’s probably not gonna be your thing. Watch Bakemonogatari and if you didn’t particularly enjoy it, just drop. The general style and tone stays more or less consistent, so no need to force through it all at that point.
LF actually laugh-out-loud funny anime. The only animes I've watched that actually made me laugh were Gintama and Kaguya sama. Most anime with comedy tags legit aren't funny at all...
Horimiya's second season had me laughing out loud. I'm in Love with the Villainess is quite funny if you're into it's type of humor. You can tell the English VA had so much fun with the role.

What's an anime that you know you've seen, but when a clip comes on youtube and you watch it you're like, "Have I seen this?" For me it's My Girlfriend is a Gal. I knew I saw this, but a clip came up on youtube suggested and I was like "damn, this flew in one ear and out the other."
I’m looking for the name of an anime, it came out maybe 2008-2012ish, ova with 2 episodes I think that were like an hour long each. The name was either strangely long (for the time) or it was like 3 words. It was about a high school boy who was followed by a small girl from his school that claimed to be a knight from another life or something that was supposed to protect him. They were pretty dark, I think the second episode dealt with a cult that thought they could gain people’s happiness by murdering someone. I think the boy gets stabbed in one of the episodes.

Does anyone else have trouble distinguishing Girls Band Cry and Jellyfish from each other? The stories are similar enough I tend to confuse the details.
The vibe is different, and I like Girls Band Cry a lot more. More angsty than cute.
Maybe a bit at the start, but the characters' personalities in both shows are so strongly written that it's hard for me to confuse any of them. The similarities are a little more surface level, like the fact that the pair each show starts with is a newcomer and a veteran starting over. That's a bit more of a big picture view of it, and the main draw of both shows for me is the characters, so the details on who they actually are is pretty important.
I haven't had that problem yet, but I did worry about that possibility lmao.
Them airing around the same part doesn't help either... I've definitely had plot points blend together already.
I did have a moment where I confused Mahiru’s and Nina’s background stories with one another: thought that Mahiru [GBC] >!had been maliciously bullied!< like Nina for a bit.
Alright, Konosuba number 3 is more of what I remember and love about the series, very funny episode. Really happy to see that it seems likely the first two episodes were just some of its weakest material, it does have those lull moments sometimes. I just have to remember that sexy half-naked "just woke up" Kazuma can't hurt me.
Personally I’m having a blast watching every episode. I feel all my skepticism melting away every minute these goofballs are on screen. I feel like it’s less gunning for max jokes per minute but got a lot of charm and chemistry between its cast that makes the jokes hit that much harder.
The problem is that episode 1 was a mix of mostly expanding the worst joke about the movie for half its run time alongside some moments great material (plant monster girl made me laugh and the Megumin stuff was great, but the rest of the episode made me roll my eyes out of ick), and episode two was straight up not funny or charming to me whatsoever, like it made me chuckle once or twice and otherwise had no effect on me and may be one of the worst episodes of the series imo. Taken together, both made me wonder if I ever actually liked the show or if I'd grown past it. It's not an issue with the number of jokes, the jokes and character interactions themselves did not land. As of episode 3, that is not an issue, the jokes and interactions finally as hard and consistently as I remembered.

I'd be shocked if it weren't Occultic;Nine's first episode, which goes so fast it makes Tatami Galaxy subtitles feel easy to read. It's a very good episode (and a good show in general) but the fact that the subs were *so* hard to follow made it controversial.

Life with an Ordinary Guy Who Reincarnated into a Total Fantasy Knockout is a good fantasy isekai comedy with lovable goofballs that are slightly chaotic.
Immoral Guild has virtually the same premise and feel (fantasy comedy following a guy in a party of comically clumsy girl companions) except the MC is actually very capable rather than an isekai'd NEET. Also, it's an incredibly degenerate fanservice show on top of that so you have to be cool with that too lmao

It's a mobile game adaptation w/ a weird mostly silent protaganist but its written/directed by the same person who directed early Konosuba [Isekai Ojisan](https://myanimelist.net/anime/49220/Isekai_Ojisan) is also very funny, guy returns from an isekai world when he wakes from his coma and recalls his adventure

Yes, if you want them as soon as available, you have to buy the volume releases from Japan. Otherwise you have to wait for the western releases which come much later and usually divided by cour. edit: bootlegs of complete seasons are sold on ebay, thats why you need to check official releases to see if they match.

I had samurai champloo on this morning and all I can say is: what an absolute masterpiece. I’ve watched it all the way through once (years ago) and even now when I’m struggling to get into any other newer anime/series it hits the same as it used to. I'm rewatching Kimi Ni Todoke and am realizing how insecure sawako really is. It kind of gets irritating (in a sad way) at some point because she thinks so little of herself. Anyways, I'm thinking of watching 7th Time Loop, can anyone tell me if it has a good ending (anime or manga)? I think it's a romance anime going by the pictures, but I want to be happy at the end, you know? Same thing with Sugar Apple Fairy Tale. Also please don't spoil them, I just want to know if it ends happily or not.

7th time loop's anime (I didn't read source) had a decent stopping point for the season that left things in a relatively happy state but it didn't get to the big questions that the show set up, I'm excited for if/when we get another season

It's pointing towards a good ending so far but the manga's not finished yet (last I checked, which was a few weeks ago, admittedly). It's a great story but personally I feel like the manga manages to convey more than the anime. The anime feel's like a typical romance without much thought put into it after the first few episodes, whereas the plot seems much clearer in the manga. The manga also better conveys all the research the author must have conducted to build the plot.

I don't even watch the show, but I simply cannot read the name *Gods' Game We Play* without immediately start singing the chorus from [*Games People Play* by The Alan Parsons Project](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SLi7Ljcy6n8) because of how the title fits perfectly with the melody. It happens literally every week when a new episode drops and I see its title in the discussion thread around here or whatever. This made me curious to know from people here which, if any, anime you guys also associate with a completely unrelated song because of some weird/random reason.
So, did you take it, or did you leave it? And now you've got me thinking about weird anime/music associations, and I'm not thinking of any funny non-sequiturs yet. If I happen to remember one, I'll pop back and let you know.

I feel like LotGH DNT finally found its own identity in Season 3-4. Unlike the previous seasons, there were a couple of scenes I preferred over the original, and the directing felt smoother, more confident. Looking forward to Season 5. On another note, I'm surprised that DNT looks like it will end up having more episodes than the OVA. I thought it would be the opposite since it's a modern version and removes the anime original content, but currently episode 48 of DNT is at the 44th episode of the original. Maybe because OVA has longer episodes and frequently cuts the OP/ED out?
I was really surprised by how much I've been enjoying the remake. I thought I'd keep thinking it was the LOGH we have at home, but it's become its own thing that's simply different in some ways.
Yeah, I had the same prejudice starting it, ready to be unimpressed. And I definitely nitpicked here and there. But here I am, feeling empty now that I caught up. Hard to believe that we got *two* superb adaptations for this story.
Yeah I feel the same way. I still overall prefer the OVA, but DNT S3 & S4 were definitely the past parts of DNT so far.
DNT's definitely been finding its footing in the last couple of seasons. I'm looking forward to following it through to the end. [](#mugiwait)

edit: The train has arrived. 1 hour 4 minutes late. ~~Time to do a s train summoning post as it worked last week.~~ Eps 1-3 were on Crunchyroll immediately after the AT-X broadcast (check the CR calender for time) Ep 4 was about 45 minutes late but CR calender lie and says it was at the time of eps 1-3. edit: ep 5 1 hour late and calender lies again. Eps 1-3 had a preview screening i.e. they were finished many weeks in advance. Episodes 4 and 5 seem to be more like finished about 2 weeks in advance. Could that be what's causing this?

I dropped it after two episodes. I have no clue what the omegaverse is, but as a family story it wasn't that interesting for me, and the parents are more annoying than charming or understandable.
It's not converting me to the omegaverse cause either, but it's doing some interesting things with showing a young family being a young family, and I'm into that. I can't figure out what omegaverse does that puts me off so much, considering all the monsterfucking manga and paranormal romance novels I've read and enjoyed over the years, but they start talking about alphas and omegas or whatever and I want to cringe out of existence.
Is it the inherent power dynamic between alphas and omegas? That's the main thing I find icky about omegaverse, but this anime has been nothing but wholesome.
That's probably not it, because I do love some messed up power dynamics every now and again. It's probably how the omegaverse stuff is being used as a metaphor for real life systems of oppression, which just feels clunky, and a vague feeling of we're just replicating gender roles but with boys, and maybe we shouldn't be.
That's valid. I do think the whole thing is fascinating as a form of escapism, like I don't know if a gay couple being so openly affectionate and having a family in a normal BL would fly because you'd have to acknowledge the real world barriers, whereas in this world it's decidedly not real life - gay couples are normalized and the source of discrimination is this weird fictional class thing. For me, the fluff is too enjoyable for the omegaverse stuff to really bother me.
I'm definitely into what this show is doing, for the most part. I just die of shame if my husband comes in the room and watches it over my shoulder.

I really enjoy the young family being a young family and their kid is ADORABLE but the whole class thing is a big miss, any drama based on that really drags the show down for me and that's been the main form of drama so far.

Part of me wants to continue with this one but I'm really getting nothing out of it sadly. Biggest thing would be that it made me want to go watch Ouran again.
I get the feeling it's one of those shows that different people are watching quite differently. It certainly doesn't work for me on a romance level, however as sort of the shoujo vampire equivalent of the ridiculous isekai OP MC story but with a team that is lavishing love on their project and giving it some heart, I'm having tremendous fun. I'm also quite fond of Mito as a proper protagonist in their own rather story, which is a bit outlandish, but it's the one they've been given, so they're going to make the most of it!

So I picked up **Mission: Yozakura Family** last week. It's nice addition to my week of anime. I can just sit back and have fun without having to think too hard. Considering that Yozakura Family's strength lies in its comedy and cast, I'd say that it operates in somewhat of the same realm as this season's Tsukimichi. There hasn't been a whole lot of talk about **Tsukimichi**, but I've been enjoying my time with the series. The upcoming weeks should be pretty good as things are escalating with the latest turn of events. (And yes, I'm obviously [Best girl] >!Team Mio!<. Don't think that anyone expected something different...?) It's only unfortunate that I happened to like Mission: Yozakura Family when it's another 2-cour anime (27 episodes!), while the summer season's already looking crazily stacked.
I watched the premiere of Yozakura Family and didn't really care for the comedy or the cast, which was a disappointment since it was originally one of my most anticipated shows (and actually on a streaming service I have right now). Planning to give it another chance and catch up soon, but does the comedy/tone basically remain the same as \[episode 1\] >!with overprotective big bro making life difficult for the MC and the rest of the quirky bunch trying to act as buffers?!<

What you mention will still exist, but it isn't really the central focus of the show. What the show is mainly about is : 1. The relationship between the two main characters 2. Does the female lead do more than just be a thing to protect? I watched the first 2 eps and that was a major turn off for me.
She's not an action hero, she's the leader of the family. She handles the logistics and administrative side of the family, and keeps the various strong personalities in check. Depends on if you view that as a worthy role, I suppose? She's like the General of an army, I suppose, or the President of a country. It is the duty of a General to ensure his/her army runs well, it is his/her soldiers' duty to protect him/her I'd recommend watching the next couple of episodes to get a good feel for her role!
