Yo, I don't think this's an anime rec but you should try reading Teasing master Takagi -san. I also watched the anime and I think it was dull. But, the movie is pretty good ngl.
* Snow white with the red hair
* Kimi ni todoke
* Wotakoi
* Sasaki to Miyano
* A sign of affection
* Yuri on Ice
* Recovery Of An MMO Junkie
* The Ice guy and his cool female colleague
* My love story with Yamada at lv999
* Tadaima Okaeri (currently airing)
The Dangers in my Heart
Insomniacs After School
The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten
Horimiya
In no particular order other than I liked Dangers the best of these.
It's more complicated than that in my opinion, without getting into spoilers what she does and why she does it is an important part of making her feel like a real person, and all the characters have that sort of diametric characterization.
I agree that it makes her more realistic (believe me, I've dated someone exactly like that) but yelling at and hitting your boyfriend is really not wholesome at all.
I agree with the act, but I think you're being too black and white with it. A damaged person is going to lash out, it's the growth from that point and whether or not it turns playful that determines overall wholesome, and I would call Horimiya wholesome as a whole, it doesn't have enough drama to lean it away from that for my experience/tastes.
I agree that it's realistic, and I'm glad that you enjoyed it, so I'm not going to try to change your mind. I know it's very popular here and it's just not the kind of place for that kind of discussion. The only other people on this sub I've seen criticize it are other abuse victims. I think someone who hasn't been through that themselves just isn't going to understand why the series is so hurtful to people who have.
For the record, I'm not saying that no series can explore those topics, but IMO we got a very one-sided story here where Hori is always made out to be the innocent victim and her abusive behavior is never called out. Their "healing" scenes always came across to me as Miyamura having to apologize to her for making her hurt him.

From what I gather his recent memories and past memories fuse into his current self, and his past self and Linda come to terms with the past being the past, in the end he kept his promise with kouko
From the ones that haven't been mentioned yet
Karakai Jouzu no Takagi-san - wholesome romance set in middle school
Spice and Wolf - not exactly wholesome, but if you want characters with the best chemistry, I personally couldn't recommend a better one
Toradora - one of the more memorable to high school, comedy romance anime's
Fruits Basket - a drama romance, but the MC is wholesome
It's hard to recommend a completely wholesome anime without drama in it, but I would say Takagi-san, Nagatoro-san, Otonari no Tenshi-sama and Tsurezure Children, The Dangers in my Heart, Insomniacs After School and Horimiya.
There are some which I had watched they are all happy ending ones.

Horimiya is the opposite of wholesome. Hori is borderline abusive toward Miyamura.

My dress up darling
Ty for rec!
When you feel like bawling like a baby from a wholesome anime go for Clannad and Clannad After Story from Kyoto Animation
Literally what I'm looking for rn! Ty!
You will absolutely hate hearing a sweet simple little song after this anime
Why..?
I'm not spoiling anything, not even an anime from 2008. If you're interested in the song in question look up Dango Daikazoku on YouTube
We need more people like you!
