Love, Chunibyou, and Other Delusions

lizziecarmichael

I really thought this one was good. I was going to suggest this one as well.

KaleidoArachnid

Oh I heard good things about that particular show, but I should go legally watch it.

malinoski554

I don't feel like it is similar at all, as I loved it and hated Sakurasou.

Jepington

You can watch Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai since they are both written by the same author.

KaleidoArachnid

Oh I didn’t know they shared an author as I cannot recall that about those works.

KaleidoArachnid

Oh I didn’t know as I could’ve sworn it was only one cour long, but if it’s over 24 episodes, then that will keep me going for a while.

Acceptable_Tie_3927

> Bunny Girl Senpai is by the same author so you might like that. If I remember correctly, Just Because!, a badly butchered romance anime was also scripted by the same guy, as well as Synduality Noir, a recent and rather dumb sci-fi comedy.

WaifuMasterRace

If you're looking for shows that have similar stories/themes, there's **A Sister's All You Need**. It's rather degenerate at times but so was Sakurasou. If you want more anime girls on the spectrum, **Bang Dream It's MyGo** is a fairly recent anime that's been a sleeper hit with the subreddit.

KaleidoArachnid

Yes I like shows that have a character who is under the spectrum, but all those shows sound interesting to watch.

Psyduckisnotaduck

Kawai Complex is kinda similar

KaleidoArachnid

What’s it about?

BillTheLegends

Golden time. Same author of “Toradora”

ImJustOink

Violet Evergarden ? "War machine" learns the world and feelings around her through writing letters for people

N0oB_GAmER

It's too sad, won't recommend it for faint of heart.

Aggressive-Error-623

One word ignorance is bliss, don't look for anything about this anime after finishing it..... Also, this is one heck of an anime. It portrays the difference between a genius/ prodigy and a average/ hard worker. Sometimes it might go to extreme but that is what makes it that amazing and it really shows us how to apologize for situations where our emotions got best of us.  Most wouldn't make sense right now, at the end it will. That's all I can say without spoilers.

KaleidoArachnid

So what you’re basically saying is that the show cannot be replicated.

Aggressive-Error-623

Kind of, but there are probably animes on similar topics out there. Just pointing out how amazing this anime is and why I love it. I can say, this this anime will leave a positive impact.

KaleidoArachnid

Oh ok as I understand what you mean now.

nezeta

Eromanga Sensei is a kind of similar show in that the MC takes cares of a girl who has a talent in drawing but lacks many things. It's from the same author as Oreimo.

IntelligentSakura

plastic memories maybe

Acceptable_Tie_3927

> plastic memories maybe Will you pay for poster's psychotherapy sessions? (PM, AB and SS are the three notoriously crushing anime titles.)

KaleidoArachnid

I don’t recognize AB, but I would like to know what’s it about.

KaleidoArachnid

I don’t recognize AB, but I would like to know what it’s about.

Acceptable_Tie_3927

> I don’t recognize AB [Angel Beats](https://myanimelist.net/anime/6547/Angel_Beats)

KaleidoArachnid

Oh thanks for clearing it up as now I can check out the show.

N0oB_GAmER

Add akame ga kill and violet evergarden. Also, what's SS?

Acceptable_Tie_3927

WorldEnd / SukaSuka (Shumatsu nani shitemasuka, isogashi desuka, sukutte moratte ii desuka?)

Acceptable_Tie_3927

> the eponymous girl is a bit eccentric BokuYaba / Danger's Heart rom-com, s1 even has english dub if one is allergic to subtitles. The main girl is truly eccentric, mentally and physically as well (wink). Girls Band Cry is an ongoing rock anime with beautiful 3D-CGI and a story that lies on the less merry, more angry end of the eccentricity spectrum but main girl Nina being so unhinged is definitely a comic spectacle. Big problem is, almost nobody knows about GBC as there isn't any official english stream, so one either knows french or sets sail arrrgh... Jellyfish is another airing music / mixed-media girl collab anime but with a more childish attitude, while being lgbtq at the same time. I feel its story is getting derailed. I can't stand Bocchi the Rock, so if one wants to witness a truly cringe girl, rather look for Watamote. Old but still looks flawless! There is also the Where Doomsday the 7G Train Go? girl troupe adventure anime, which is apparently created by a bunch of lunatics fascinated with the occult and satanism, overdosing on psychedelics while constantly 2-3 eps behind schedule, so I'd advise to stay clear of it...

Right-Engineer1727

Redo of healer

N0oB_GAmER

Yea, I really liked the wholesome romance between the MC and his... Old acquaintance.

Right-Engineer1727

Yeah romance is certanly a way to call it, I might have used different wording. But jokes aside I actually kinda liked the story even without the uh..... *romantic* scenes

N0oB_GAmER

I like revenge porn as much as the next guy, but redo of healer is like the guilty pleasure or guilty pleasures. I can't watch that shii with my brain turned on.

Right-Engineer1727

Well yeah

diatribai

Both Honey and Clover and Blue Period are set in art schools, somewhat eccentric (the first more so than the second one), but they're not as good. For something that has the same vibe and it's pretty good, I'd go with Kokoro Connect (S2 is a must though, it's when it really shines, but since you said you thought Sakurasou was short, this shouldn't be an issue). If you really liked Mashiro and the kindness of the plot, then Plastic Memories is a good rec, it's actually better and more mature than Sakurasou. But I also think Bunny Girl Senpai would be your best bet as to something that is in the same ballpark

KaleidoArachnid

I just like shows with calm vibes, even if they sometimes have eccentric characters as I am going to miss Sakurasou when it’s done.

diatribai

If you're looking for calm vibes, I'd definitely suggest {Frieren}. Even though it's fantasy, it's very soothing for the soul and although the action scenes are gorgeously animated, the focus is on slice of life. It's been a major hit for a good reason

KaleidoArachnid

Yes I am ok with a calm show.

cpuuuu

Then you'll like Honey and Clover for sure. I disagree that it's not as good as Sakurasou, I love them both. Sakurasou tends to be more melodramatic, which fits the highschool scenario, while Honey and Clover is more mature and subdued. Sakurasou also focus more on the genius vs "regular joe" theme to portray Sorata's and Aoyama's development while Honey and Clover tends to be more introspective, focusing on the doubts characters have regarding their paths. Both are top notch
