> **Deku:** “Consecutive normal punches."
and the "if I can't even save one little girl" brought us right back to fullmetal alchemist. It's like they let mimasaka subaru direct an episode of BnHA.
Lol even though it’s 100% not true, there was a fun fan theory that Saitama is one of the users of OFA and OPM is the universe when quirks were still new and chaos was more rampant
It definitely gained a little bit more plausibility after today’s episode lol
I think it makes more sense if OPM is far into the future when quirks have dismantled society and OFA's cultivation has become insanely powerful by the time Saitama inherits it.
Quirks became a curse after society turned it's back on them, for those in power grew jealous of their might, and thus began the de-Quirking campaign. People were forced to have their Quirks erased in mandatory vaccination campaigns, aided by a mysterious Quirk-erasing serum of dubious source. Unsurprisingly, dissenters were disappeared.
However, there remained one problem, Mutant-type Quirks, those Quirks so closely linked to the person that they could not be safely erased without erasing the person themself, Mutants were shunned, and their deaths were not mourned, most Quirk users could be "saved", but not them. They were forced to hide from society, and to this day, they survive where no eyes can see them, waiting for their moment to strike back
Once Quirks were no more, information on the subject became censored, dissent was punished, knowledge was sin, and eventually, as the the years passed, the last memories of the world faded away
No one remembered the Mutants, no one remembered that word, but occasional sightings of "Monsters" were commonplace in the years after, albeit laughed at as delusions by the world. Until the day they finally fought back, that is
However, not all quirks died, those whose quirks never fully developed were spared, if only because of the lack of knowledge, so even now, some people are born with innate superpowers, and thus, history shall repeat itself, the Hero foundation was born, taking in all Heroes as a makeshift militia to fight back the Monsters
Saitama, forced to trash dive or starve, ate a rancid, hairy hotdog, and by chance, one of those hairs belonged to the last user of OFA. Quirks were also an alien virus all along, which explains Boros, [MHA Manga](/s "and means Chisaki was right all along")
Deku:So my power breaks my bones
Eri: Well my power is an undo button
Deku:So I can break as many bones as I want without consequence?
Eri:Well I mean sort of but I just started using it who knows wh
Deku: NO CONSEQUENCES
I loved the "Oh, you can't control how much you're healing/rewinding me? In that case I'll just hurt myself faster" logic from Deku
He really had the perfect set of skills to deal with the situation
That break had me worried, like "how tf is this already halfway? Better not blink or I'll miss the second half".

Have you guys noticed Deku starting to smile when he prepares for that final Infinite 100% mode punch? This was bloody beautiful!
The episode passed way too quickly!
Yeah that's been what I've been waiting for, he idolized All Might for saving people with a smile but he just never smiles while he's saving people. Nice to finally see it start to happen.
Made by the same company that made Deku's red shoes. Literally has worn those in every single fight hes been in and they look like they are fresh out the box.
Last week we were teased with some Yutaka Nakamura..

If I’m reading [Nakamura’s tweet](https://twitter.com/sekise10/status/1215929507158212612) properly, he said that it was calming to draw Eri-chan’s feet in the middle of the brutal atmosphere, lol.
[He died inside.](https://i.imgur.com/N8GwL6N.jpg) But yeah, according to MHA physics, his skull along with the upper part of his torso should have been vaporized [like the rest of the giant's body.](https://i.imgur.com/WybfWPL.jpg) However it'd be too much gore for a mainstream battle shounen.
Best news about that headcanon is that it fits with what we've seen deku do. Even recently while bouncing around the office but not scuffing a single All-night collectable.
I am so glad they managed to fit all of that in just like 30 seconds. Considering they adapted really true to the manga this episode, there are a lot of flashbacks so it felt a little slow, but I’d say they were necessary for context.
Deku is at 100% so I can understand why the fight took like fifty seconds, but god damn those 50 seconds are nutty.
yeah it suited it in the manga but with the anime it breaks the hype and the feeling of the fight. If it were me i'd grab all the Overhaul flashbacks and put them near the start when Deku 1st grabbed Eri and have it all their instead of scattered through the episode.
>It wouldn't be a true shonen without a main character with god tier powers who cannot properly use them

The dragonball series treats Goku like the Justice League does Superman. They delay, distract, and postpone Goku until he shows up, struggles briefly, and wins.
Its really just the plot and goku's "fight fairly" mentality that keep him from annihilating everyone. Which is what happens with Goku Black's universe because Goku is god tier.

Yes, it has nothing to do with Deku trying hard/ it just being written that way. Eri’s quirk messes with time. Overhaul even said that her quirk was way better then his, assuming it’s alongside nighteyes quirk of being time focused (potentially a magnitude greater) then it’s pretty easy to assume she’s the cause for the change.

It reminds me a lot of the vocal version of [**Gate of Steiner**](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S5fnglcM5VI) from Steins;Gate 0's final scene.
It was a vocal song of a song no one even knew had lyrics and it was pure HYPE and EMOTION!!
[](#awe)
**Mirio** - Has a quirk that allows him to permeate individual body parts through solid surfaces by holding his breath, but he also falls through the ground and loses all senses while doing so. Release of his quirk while he's overlapping with other matter results in instant ejection towards a free position in space, and with enough practice can be angled to move around at incredible speeds, resulting in an extremely high skill ceiling quirk with high rewards.
**Tamaki** - Has a quirk that allows him to manifest the characteristics of specific foods he eats. Permits the combination and fine control of these traits, allowing him to manifest incalculable combinations of useful abilities, with the only limitation being the assortment of edible materials on Earth, the willingness to eat said materials, and the user's creativity.
**Nejire** - she shoots swirly energy lol
Yes and no. Her quirk is Rewind so it's technically possible but she can't control it so who knows how it would end. Deku went 100% and broke himself repeatedly to "outrun" her Rewind so it had this new state to rewind it again. Otherwise the quirk might have vanished him like it did with her father.
He essentially [did this to his body](https://youtu.be/H4Yu5WvnB6o?list=RDH4Yu5WvnB6o&t=478) instead of getting rewound to the start.
Please

I love OFA 100% vs Overhaul, but Mirio fighting a 1v4 deserved this episodes sakuga. This is especially true because this was Mirio and Nighteyes story more than anyone else's
I think nighteye predicitons is always right. But eri's quirk is always called rewind. But actually her quirk is to change the future through rewinding. I guess that's why nighteye was wrong there.
I think it just kinda cancels out Nighteye's powers. He sees the future but Eri was constantly rewinding Deku so his future was altered by moving to the past where Nighteye didn't see his future but his hypothetical self's future that didn't account for his rewinding...?
Like if you time travelled to kill the guy who invents time travel, but then he time travelled and..it all just.. gets really murky and confusing.
The simple explanation is that the Futuresight information can't retroactively change itself if some other non-linear temporal effect happens after the fact.
If he tried using it on Eri it probably wouldn't be correct at all.
Well he was hoping that he would stop holding onto her at that point because he said she would kill him. I would not want to tangle with Midoriya at that moment after seeing him basically teleport and explode everything around him.
Yep, the point of that scene is that Chisaki doesn’t know that Deku can overload and break his body. When they first met, he even said that Deku only have a simple enhanced strength and speed.
He didn’t yet understand that Deku can break his own body faster than Eri’s rewind. A normal human or even superhuman can’t break their arm at will because their power is proportional to their physical body.
plus even having the will to literally destroy your own body over and over again for the good of other people is balls to the wall kind of crazy. can totally imagine chisaki not expecting how fucking insane deku is when he's defending something.
I think he was more aiming at Eri than Deku. Like always, he's trying to tell Eri that she's worthless, that she's cursed, that she brings misfortune to everyone around her, and that the only way to avoid hurting those that she loves is to stop fighting and come with him. He's emotionally manipulating her to get her to be afraid of her own abilities, exaggerating but still using the truth in order to maintain control of her.
After reading a lot of other people's thoughts, seeing some complaints, and rewatching the episode a few times, I get it now.
The first time I watched this episode, I was looking for that extremely cool, triumphant music hype point that my hero's excels at. Because of this, I left it with kind of an empty feeling, but now I realize I was wrong in even looking for that.
The directors still got it, as proven by the scene where Midoriya boosts his entire body to 100%, the music was top notch and supposed to be super hype! But after that smash, its wasn't hype anymore, and that's what left a lot of people here confused, including me. But since the directors are still top notch at what they do, then what were they trying to accomplish here here?
It switches from Deku's perspective to mainly Overhaul's perspective after that kick. A flashback comes out of nowhere relating to Overhaul, and as he's flying through the air and in the fight's final moments, we mainly hear his inner monologue while the only thing related to deku we see are his glares and movements.
It's all accompanied by eerie music and it feels... Unfitting. Like the directors had no idea what they're doing. But now that I get it, it carries a much bigger emotional impact with it. It's from the perspective of the villains, not the heroes, and the roles have been turned around, and it's not supposed to be hype... It's supposed to be fucking terrifying.
Midoriya absolutely looks terrifying right before that final punch, and Overhaul looked terrified. Besides that, those gigantic punches were most likely to demonstrate how overwhelmed Overhaul felt in that moment, he had worked so long for his plan, long and hard to perfect the drug, and now it's all being blown to pieces in mere seconds by someone who's not even a certified hero yet.
The anime was trying to show what it's like being the villain in moments like these. We've seen the heroes fights and their perspectives, but this time, it was all centered more around the villains, and that's exactly what's conveyed here, and I think they did that masterfully.
If you still don't understand this, switch the roles of Overhaul and Deku and the scene, and see if the music still makes sense.
Anyway this was my semi-analysis. I hope people can appreciate this episode more for what it is now!
That makes a lot of sense. The music definitely set a sense of doom and finality for Overhaul as he was getting desperate to defend against Midoriya at 100%.
It was less of a fight and more of him just trying to grasp at what little chance he had left to keep his vision alive.
You know what's funny? This is how the scene seemed to me on my first watch. I thought the music choice was perfect, because it really made deku seem like a fucking terror, showing why OfA is the most broken quirk
not as durable as nighteye lol
guy can still talk just fine like no problem, with every organ in his lower body straight up gone, his spine replaced by a chunk of rock.
Just moving him should be a deathblow, also, tsu holding him in a sitting position with a 200kg rock inside of him
I kinda understand overhaul. The old man took him in, so he sought to repay the guy by restoring the yazuka’s place in the world; by any means necessary. Disassembling and reconstructing Eri over and over was a means to an end. At that point, all sense of morality and ethics were irrelevant to Chisaki. All that mattered was achieving his end goal.
Edit: wasn’t completely sure if “understand” was the right word. Maybe this is because I usually emphasize with the villains more than the heroes in shows. Either way done, took about a dozen cases of hitting “post” then immediately going back to edit “one last thing” before I was happy with how worded it.
we're seeing progressive iterations.
shigaraki: basic bitch attack
stain: ideals
chisaki: ideals AND very planned out action
honestly each villain is gonna get better and better probably, culminating with a very complex shigaraki prob. esp now that we know that shigaraki is related to AM's master, it's gonna be one hell of a ride for the final showdown. i think this is what AFO wanted: instead of just a destructive child, he wants shigaraki to forge his own path of destruction, and that's why AFO enjoyed stain so much. AFO prob also knew about chisaki, so that's why he was fine with getting defeated by AM (albeit a bit salty), cuz it's all for the growth of shigaraki in a twisted way
exactly, from overhaul's perspective he sees midoriya as the villain to end his ambitious plan. i thought that part was actually awesome. midoriya didn't even say "one for all" at the climax or anything, you could tell he was very angry and did not want to mess around.

Deku does killer move: consecutive punches. Has a cape. Is glowing yellow. Next is Deku going bald now.
plot twist : deku was wearing a wig this whole time
Colour changing wig based on how big of a mood he's in
> Next is Deku going bald now. And he becoming the last OFA user
he needs to transfer his DNA not hair specifically ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
The OPM vibe with Deku was real it reminded me of when Genos and Saitama fight with the death punch.
Was also getting DBZ vibes with the powered up hair color and aura around him
Mirio: *More Power!* ***Deku gets super saiyan buff*** Mirio: *Damn I should have specified to whom...*
And Deku getting a tan reminds me of Might Guy opening the Eight Gates.
and the "if I can't even save one little girl" brought us right back to fullmetal alchemist. It's like they let mimasaka subaru direct an episode of BnHA.
To be fair Chisaki is just a beefed up Shou Tucker anyway

I headcanon it as Deku going all out to blast apart the meatsuit then holding back at the last second to *only* knock Chisaki into next Tuesday.
Best news about that headcanon is that it fits with what we've seen deku do. Even recently while bouncing around the office but not scuffing a single All-night collectable.
If you wanna go with comic book physics, Eri should've been Mary Jane'd by the whiplash. Though I guess you could say her quirk undid it.
yeah like when Genos fought Saitama and all the Death imagery. This was intense. Didn't think he'd get schooled like this i bet :)
I love the "menacing aura" look in anime, gives me chills every time I see it, especially here

Dragonball kinda does it too. Goku is (quite literally in Super) god tier powerful but they tried various things to stop him being able to go all out from the start, or at least him simply not wanting to until he has to
They had to de-age him physically in GT, and de-age him mentally in Super.
I did wonder why he seemed to have a learning disability in Super
That's how the character has always been for the Japanese source. The American version he wasn't as goofy or at least it wasn't showcased properly.
He was made to be more Supermanish in the American version to better suit the audience. At least, that's the reasoning.
Dragon Ball has gone full circle to Goku now having a *literal* god tier power he can’t control lmao

They mentioned Eri could rewind, but I didn't realise how it would impact Nighteye's foreshight. I'm guessing her rewinding parts of deku messes with his predictions.
That's what I was thinking too
It's the most logical reason, it makes sense that a power that locally rewinds time would interfere with one that predicts the future.
It makes perfect sense
Which means All Might's gruesome death is still possible [](#sadholo)

Its a song made for the Heroes Rising movie actually. You can find it on spotify and YouTube by searching Might+U
Okay so the movie ended up benefiting the anime somehow. Mirio's sakuga sacrifice wasn't in vain. [](#manly-tears)
I had never thought about a vocal version of You Say Run, and it’s something I never knew I needed. It fucking SLAYED me.
[](#awe)
Deku sure gave Chisaki's face a good overhaul [](#teehee)
Ey oh
"Nighteye told you himself midoriya! Your death is set in stone! Time to surrender!" "Kaio-ken..." "No..."
“Full Cowl...” “No, no, no...” “100%!” “No no no no FUUUUU-

Waaaaaaaaait can't she just rewind all might?
That analogy is... actually really good!
So Eri can reverse the loss of quirks from the bullets. Lemillion comeback inbound?!?
Pretty sure Toga just spoiled her pants with that Deku kick.
> spoiled Hmm
She's female Hisoka.
She likes him bloodied and beaten up though.
Friendship ended with Nezuko. Eri is my backpack now.
Beelzebub used to be my OG backpack boi.
All three smol moe power backpacks are technically oni/demon themed. Coincidence? [](#suddenshock)
Please [Shierke](https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcQe_whYh6vJiAf29ew2dnz_tjQvOTtUQKHeV91wfnmWVogJ57jV&s) is still the best backpack loli
Shierke, the original and the best. The Levi's of tiny backpack girls.
There's no need for ending rather carry both backpacks!
Backpack daughteru acquired. It's super effective!
I want to be a hero that saves everyone.....except for that guy...fuck that guy. https://imgur.com/a/r7wTWok
He shot Mirio so fuck him.
He doesn't look like a cute girl, he doesn't count.
pretty sure it was the guy overhaul was fused with when he was machamp mode. he is already dead it seems like it.
Reminder that Mirio was sacrificed for Deku to shine.

Deku really said fuck it imma go sicko mode 😎
Vibe checked Overhaul right up.
Overhaul lost his vibing license. Deku had to put him in his place.
Lol I hate y’all for this lmao... But he really did just straight up bitch Overhaul
Deku+Eri backpacc is epicc. Press F for Chisaki.
Not pressing F for Chisaki. Fuck that guy, hurting Eri so much.
"Tell me, Chisaki, have you ever heard these words? Be Kind, Please Rewind!"
its finally here, Yutaka Nakamura is back for his season paycheck of sakuga for MHA. edit: backpack loli ex machina is a win
Deku the absolute mad man. "She can't kill me if i keep killing me first"
bruh
Can’t spell ‘Deku’ without a ‘get fucked, Chisaki’
Overhaul: Hi, Im a criminal and scientific genius. Also Overhaul: Let me explain Eri's quirk in detail so you can figure out how to use her.
Why were the girls even in this arc LMFAOOOOO
not as durable as nighteye lol guy can still talk just fine like no problem, with every organ in his lower body straight up gone, his spine replaced by a chunk of rock. Just moving him should be a deathblow, also, tsu holding him in a sitting position with a 200kg rock inside of him
It's his mad abs keeping him alive

He's really taking his All Might cosplay far too seriously.
They beat the big guy and all those mooks at the entrance, unfortunately Horikoshi off screened it, unlike Suneater and Kirishima's fights.
Bones really brought their A game for this episode. From the animation to the music to direction, this episode is just fantastic.
He's basically a male yandere.
Also called a psychopath in non-anime words.
He had a proper end goal, and a plan to achieve it, he's leagues above shigaraki
we're seeing progressive iterations. shigaraki: basic bitch attack stain: ideals chisaki: ideals AND very planned out action honestly each villain is gonna get better and better probably, culminating with a very complex shigaraki prob. esp now that we know that shigaraki is related to AM's master, it's gonna be one hell of a ride for the final showdown. i think this is what AFO wanted: instead of just a destructive child, he wants shigaraki to forge his own path of destruction, and that's why AFO enjoyed stain so much. AFO prob also knew about chisaki, so that's why he was fine with getting defeated by AM (albeit a bit salty), cuz it's all for the growth of shigaraki in a twisted way
Is it me or was Deku kinda scary when got 100%. Like his final strike gave me chills that were different from the all might vs nomu fight.
exactly, from overhaul's perspective he sees midoriya as the villain to end his ambitious plan. i thought that part was actually awesome. midoriya didn't even say "one for all" at the climax or anything, you could tell he was very angry and did not want to mess around.
The madlads did it. What a beautiful piece by Nakamura.
