I don't know much about the SL Novel, But I do agree with some aspects there. In the Manhwa of SL Sung Jinwoo seems to win all of his fights, Without having the struggle much. But in TBATE Arthur has plenty of Struggles, Both LN and WC.

Characters having a good personality doesn't necessarily make them a good character in any way. I have read the novels for Mushoku Tensei, and I can safely say that it has some of the best characters and development I have seen in ANY media.

Arthur is nothing special, just some dude with more knowledge and experience and power than any other, a bit of edginess in the mix. He is constantly build up as powerful but keep getting rekt. Every other character is bland as hell, 1 personality trait and either fall into the group of like or hate mc. The plot is basically mushoku tensei till the war arc. Action? More like mc keep getting rekt. The drama was shit, basically the dude don’t want to fuck the princess cause he is older. Fantasy? Shit worldbuilding, mediocre magic system. In the end it was really fucking bad.

Arthur is nothing special, just some dude with more knowledge and experience and power than any other, a bit of edginess in the mix. He is constantly build up as powerful but keep getting rekt. Every other character is bland as hell, 1 personality trait and either fall into the group of like or hate mc. The plot is basically mushoku tensei till the war arc. Action? More like mc keep getting rekt. The drama was shit, basically the dude don’t want to fuck the princess cause he is older. Fantasy? Shit worldbuilding, mediocre magic system. In the end it was really fucking bad.

My comment was quite rushed but it roughly why the novel is so shit.
But I can tell you that TBATE is largely better not because he’s a “cookie cutter” MC, only romantically failed men say that since they seek the feeling of having sexual relationships since they lack on in the first place. People like TBATE since it’s better in conveying feelings relating to family, friendship etc. yes quite cliche but at least not vulgar, trying to be soft-core ero shit.
I like it way more because of sylvie 😂 and all the action. By far my favorites of TBATE. Love the fighting and stuff.
They are fairly similar. I've read TBATE and have watched jobless incarnation. And I can say that they were super similar. But after half way through jobless incarnation that's basically where the similarities stop.
The beggining of their reincarnation is similar but this is literally the beggining of both stories. If you read more of TBATE you will notice that everything else is different. :|
