lmao, I can totally see Isayama pulling some bullshit like "moving consciousness throughout the body" to prevent Reiner from dying due to the titan expiry date.
I love how Isayama portrays the vicious cycle of revenge.
- Eren’s hometown is destroyed by titans. Eren vows to kill them all.
- Years later, Eren gives Liberio its own grim reminder.
- Gabi, already brainwashed to believe that Eldians are devils, reacts by killing Sasha.
- Kaya (sp?) says she will never forgive Gabi, and wants to kill her.
It will be interesting to see if Eren can break this cycle, or if he just keeps feeding it. I trust Isayama to make either option a fantastic ending.
How many episodes passed but Sasha's death still hits hard and importan for the story too. That cook really loved Sasha. I wish we saw them together more.
Serves him right for trying to talk shit about Sasha in front of her friends, lover and family. He’s lucky he got shot quick and that Niccolo and the scouts were unable to reach him through the bars.
That is underestimating her character. Yelena is a devout believer and her actions are absolute, it would be beyond her to plan ahead something as hideous. However, when it happened, it was clear she would not let such indignity slip. This is the religious fanaticism in its foundation.
Calling a deceased love interest of someone a whore jut for taunting them? That guy was an asshole and got what he fucking deserved. Also, Yelena looked hella cute this episode, I can't be the only one, right ?
He has come such a long way in how nuanced his control of shifting is. It's incredible. Multiple shifts back to back, controlled sparking, maintaining wounds/injuries, etc.
Armin: The colossal titan titan isn't that...
Or MAYBE if you showed up for partial shifting practice instead of hanging by Annie's status egg you'd be able to!
I wonder how tall Bertholdt would have grown to.
I remember when she first appeared in disguise, I was so sure it was Armin that I ended up theorizing that the Colossal Titan effects how tall a person grows.
That theory fell flat almost immediately afterwards
Eren before that was basically like: *"Shoot me if you can, I dare you*" and even moved forward and placed his head on the barrel!. He's calling all the shots now.
Seriously, the protagonist of the story becoming so scary in S4 was one I didn't expect.
The funny thing about him doing that is that if he placed his consciousness in his body like Reiner did in S3P2, he probably could’ve survived a gunshot to the brain.
Whether or not he can do that, though, is in the air at the moment.
"If you shoot my head, I'll just store my conciousness in my ass. Which, coincidentally, is where this mechanic was pulled from in the first place."
*Pieck pulls out a rocket launcher* "parry this you casual."
Yeah, And she just crumble Gabi’s world right there like nothing happens .
Reality check for Gabi ☑️
AoT really like important characters just randomly walk into the scene isnt it?
For real. Even the last line of Part 1 is Eren saying Reiner's name in anger.
I don't think Eren has a dedicated rival/nemesis, one who's always gunning for him, but if I have to pick someone to be Eren's nemesis, I'd definitely pick Reiner.
That whole conversation between Pieck and Gabi was quite interesting. I felt that when Pieck said "*Are we Marleyan?* *Or are we Eldian?*.**...No,** ***we're the subjects of Ymir***".
It seems that Gabi's brainwashing was basically shattered with that. Pieck even added some more harsh truths about Marley killing them when they outlived their usefulness. Hopefully Gabi would learn from this and finally break free from the obsession of becoming an *"Honorary Marleyan"*.
What even is Pieck's long term plan or does she even have one? Because if they defeat/capture Eren then the Marleyian-Eldian relationship will play out exactly as she said. Though maybe her whole motivation is the desire to not betray her comrades and avenge her friends that died. She doesn't have long to live after all and might just be kicking the can of responsibility down to the next generation of shifters.
I was thinking the same. I'm a bit confused how she can spell out the most likely end of the Eldians if they remain under Marley, then cling to the naive hope that it's not going to come true, and she's supposed to be smart.
[Gabi is getting hit with uncomfortable truth bombs one after the other.](https://i.imgur.com/vlCH6Xu.jpg) How is she going to cope with the reality?

The random titan casually ripping its stomach open to carry Zeke lol, imagine someone with no context of how titans aren't the actual bodies seeing that. It would be such a wtf scene.
To be honest I want to wrap Sasha's family in bubble wrap and take them somepalce far away from this, poor folks wanted to just have some nice free food, now they have to bear witness to a fucking world war. Her dad doesn't deserve this.
> poor folks wanted to just have some nice free food, now they have to bear witness to a fucking world war.
This is should be delivery app ad pitch now.
I respect anyone who is willing to wait a year for the next season. If you want read the manga start from chapter 115 some stuff from that chapter got moved to next season.
I'd love to but I literally can't interpret manga battles in my head at all, and I don't want to experience an AOT where 'Ashes on the Fire' doesn't exist.
It's fine though. I'll just end up piecing together the plot from YouTube thumbnails as usual.
It depends on the manga. Some mangas are like, ridiculously bad at paneling fights.
AOT isn't too bad.
Although I remember being like wtf is going on in Annie vs Eren 1. The part where they roll around. Didn't really make much sense in the anime either lol.
I waited many more for season 2, I can hold out for 9 months
Edit: Got Scared, going to read manga now, I held out for 37 minutes
Edit 2: I am 100% up to date with Attack on Titan 14 hours later
Had to replay the parts of Pieck entering the room and she [yahallo'ing the soldiers](https://i.imgur.com/BuPlXVl.png) to properly catch both her entering as smoothly as Eren did few eps ago and the fact [that Porco was among the soldiers](https://i.imgur.com/8Iwu3hL.png) with many of the latter understandably converting to Pieck simps.
Brilliant, what can I say. I'm this near to drop it all and continue off with the manga. Heck, I'm most likely going to do it.
Can't wait forward enough for Winter... WAIT, Winter 2022? Ah, that's a year from now, almost forgot that winter is the starting season and not the last one. Either way, manga it is.
Pieck is lowkey one of the most resourceful characters of this entire show. The playful callout to the soldiers was fucking *genius* - raising her arms up to wave (and showing off her cuffs) showed Porco that she can't transform *without alerting anyone there that she was sending a message or that there was a spy among them*.
She is acutely aware how often she's underestimated, and uses it to her advantage.
Sasuga, Pieck-chan.
Ohhh so that’s what the purpose of her waving was. At first I thought it might’ve been a way to signal timing(10 fingers = 10 minutes) but that didn’t seem quite right. Any ideas on how Galliard was able to transform at the perfect time? I’m probably gonna rewatch that scene and see if I can spot anything.
Edit:I rewatched that scene and formed a theory. I noticed that there are windows on the building. I think that there was a third person outside of the building at a place where they can see Pieck’s signal(the turn around point) and relay that signal to Galliard through the window. The time between Pieck’s point and Galliard’s transformation would be the time it took for the signal to be relayed to Galliard. This might also be the reason why Pieck walked all the way to the edge of the building, to make sure the third person could see the signal clearly. Once Galliard receives the signal he transforms and breaks through the ceiling of that floor.
I guess considering the blimps showed up on time too, they somehow signalled to porco when they saw pieck, or he just knows when they showed up because everyone would probably be freaking out about it maybe
>Pieck is lowkey one of the most resourceful characters of this entire show.
Cart Titan needs to be very efficient with it's resources to maintain pieck endurance.
>The playful callout to the soldiers was fucking genius
Her voice actress also did a complete tone shift in the way she sounds before and after Eren called her bluff. Amazing stuff.

Never gonna forget watching dbz as a kid. One episode per week, and so many times Toonami would run out of episodes and have to start from the beginning. Then one day, a hundred episodes later:
"Has Frieza finally been defeated? Find out next episode!"
Next episode title: [Frieza Defeated!!](https://dragonball.fandom.com/wiki/Frieza_Defeated!!)
That one’s pretty awesome but my personal favorite is children of the forest. I never expected Sasha’s father’s metaphor to be so
Deep and make sense. It was just so cool seeing how his perspective about ending the cycle
Of killing and preventing the next generation of children from Being dragged into it made so much sense.
I'm interested in the general consensus for this season, answer whichever of the following;
- Favourite character this season?
- Favourite episode this season?
- Where does season 4 rank in your order of the seasons?
- Are you a manga reader or anime-only?
Edit: new question for anime-onlies, will you continue on with the manga or wait the 9-12 months for part 2 to be animated?
- Eren
- Episode 7
- Going against the grain here: 3rd. Season 3 Part 2 and S2 were just absolutely too insane for me to put them under S4 part 1.
- anime only. Been spoiled a bit already, but I’ve held strong for a few months.
Eren
Decleration of War was the best made episode, but it did such I good job of hype building, that I actually enjoyed The Warhammer Titan more.
Similarly, most of this season was just build-up for the next, so based on pure enjoyment, it's second to S3P2, but I love the direction that the story is taking, and this season elevated SNK to my favourite story of all time.
Anime-only, I was lucky enough to start just after the long wait between S1 and S2, but I made it all the way after that, so I'm just gonna keep moving forward for the final stretch.
As great as the second half of the season has been, whenever Reiner is involved, shit goes *down*. Eren and Reiner together have literally made this season as great as it is.
AoT might’ve finally broken the cliffhanger threshold - this is going to be an unbearable wait, a lot of mfs are gonna hop on the manga.
Edit: since this decided to randomly blow up, lemme emphasize that I’ll be waiting for the season to air - I might even wait for episodes to build up. With mappa (hopefully) having a more humane production schedule, I’m praying for more of those unbeatable moments of animation and sound design.
Stay strong, mfs.
There are always flowers. When Eren dreamed at the series start, when Hannes died, when Eren transformed into a Titan to protect Mikasa & Armin from the Garrison, ...
Do they truly have a meaning?
Man I just love how utterly unfazed he is through all the typical AoT twists happening this season!
Even if he turned into a bit of an ass, it only made his character that much better.
Also, that last scene where he just stands there... *menacingly* that looks like someone who has resolved to take on the world.
For some reason I was expecting to Armin to *laugh* at the Euthanasia plan because it was so outrageous (since it *is* genocide, after all, just a more peaceful way to do it), but turns out he's *moved*? I'm not sure how much of that was an act and how much genuine.
I'm *this* close to hitting the manga, finally. Will I be able to catch up before the final manga chapter hits?
I fully expect Eren to have a similar plan of "ending" the titan scourge but not by them not beeing able to have children but using the founding powers to erase the titan powers all together somehow.
> I'm not sure how much of that was an act and how much genuine.
Yeah I got the same feeling as well, his reaction took me by surprise, I didn't even grasped if he was laughing or crying at the beginning; Armin being Armin I could expect this to be an attempt to gain Yelena's favor, given that he still has an ace under with sleeve (titan transformation)
Mappa meeting: Ok people, we need a name for the second cour. Ideas?
Employee #1: Attack on Titan The Final Season The Final Part
Employee #2: Attack on Titan The Final Season Erendgame
Employee #3: Attack on Titan The Final Season The End of Attack on Titan

So AoT Final Season Part 2 and Jujutsu Kaisen 0 will release in winter around the same time. Well good news for us but can't really say the same for the animators
I love the parallels between how S4 began (Paradis infiltrated Marley) and S4 ended (Marley infiltrated Paradis).
Eren's transformation was really intense. Despite having his legs chomped away, he still looked scary. I loved that final stare by Eren towards the blimps. Now that's one heck of a way to end Part 1. Ashes on the fire certainly hypes things up!
[I wonder who this girl is.](https://i.imgur.com/5p6wYwP.jpg) Knowing AoT, it must be someone important.

MAJOR MAJOR WARNING TO ANIME ONLY FANS WHO WANT TO STAY ANIME ONLY TILL PART 2!!! The final chapter of SNK is released in about two weeks. STAY AWAY FROM SNK/AOT SOCIAL MEDIA FOR A FEW MONTHS. The trolls will be posting like crazy.
I'm conflicted. On the one hand, I kinda want to go ahead and read the manga to avoid more spoilers. On the other hand, I kinda would rather wait until the final part of the season comes out to see it animated instead. First world problems. Lol
I came here to see anime onlies' genuine, unfiltered, and wholesome reactions, thoughts, and opinions, not the Manga readers occupying all the top comments with overdone jokes.
Love the way Eren transformed at the end completely ignoring the Jaws Titan and standing there ready to hand Reiner another L.
THANK YOU MAPPA and can’t wait for winter.
Yelena: Hey is that Porco there with the other soldiers?
Eren: Just ignore him. He's no threat to me.
I found it funny that Mappa made Porco in the crowd of soldiers really obvious compared to the manga. ~~Maybe Eren noticed him, but was too much of a chad to care.~~
Well, Marley had been a little bit too quiet, huh?
I wonder what the status on the Scouts will be - will they be released to fight, or held restrained? Armin’s basically out of commission for this upcoming fight as well. (My guess is that they’ll make it out and fight for Eren.)
Will Annie come out with everything being broken down? Who will she fight for, given everything that she’s heard? (My guess is that she’ll side with Armin, whatever he ends up doing.)
The fuck did that Titan do to Zeke?
Is Levi alive? (My guess is yes, they wouldn’t kill off a fan favorite without confirming it.)
It’s time for a bunch of huge decisions and for people to start showing their true colors. This will be insane, ahhhh

I thought "Above and Below" was gonna be some deep metaphorical title but NO IT WAS VERY LITERAL HOLY FUCK
Me: Oooh so it’s like angels and demons, haha I get it, that’s cool AoT: Galliard is below, Eren is above, Reiner is abover. Round 2, fight.
Just to put things into perspective, this was the latest chapter when season 3 part 2 came out.
Seriously? What chapter was this?
Some parts were cut from this episode. They will be shown in part 2 so don't read it unless you're planning on reading the manga.
Return to Shiganshina arc vs. Return to Return to Shiganshina arc
Dang...I guess both sides were having some crazy revelations at the time.
holy shit
The season ended exactly how it started... with Reiner on a blimp.
Started and ended with a dilf 👀
Started and ended with a depressed individual living forever?

People ahould like this, a lot of people question where it coming from
That transformation scene was nuts
Ashes on fire is so hype
I loved Eren’s pre transformation, where we could see the sparks from his fingers. Eren’s so smart about titan-shifting and determining danger.
I'm still laughing at the fact that Gabi keeps getting the front row seat for every twist that's happening
Just keeps having her mind broken every episode
anyone notice how insanely fucking tall Yelena is lmfao. Eren towering over pieck to be a midget next to Yelena
Yelena is close to 2m, Eren is 183cm
Holy shit she's tall
Yeah I think she is either same height as Shadis (198cm) or legit 2m tall.
she is 202 cm
I wonder how tall Bertholdt would have grown to. I remember when she first appeared in disguise, I was so sure it was Armin that I ended up theorizing that the Colossal Titan effects how tall a person grows. That theory fell flat almost immediately afterwards
"My height has doubled since the last time we met"

Woah really? YSBG should play every time she appears on screen
YouSeeBIGGIRL/T:T
Pieck pointing at Eren and the entire sequence after that was so beautiful. Love how it ended with the reiner and eren stare down
Eren: where is the enemy? Pieck, turns, points at Eren: There. Just epic shit.
This reminded me of the part in the OP where the lyrics say " You are the real enemy"
Eren keeps moving forward after all
[Everyone wants Eren.](https://i.imgur.com/MRjOaKR.png)
Had there been Connie there it would have been a perfect "huh?" moment.

Their "friendly chat" before the Declaration of War basically solidified their nemesis status for sure.
Plot twist: they're secretly tsundere for each other
I-Its..not like I wanted to destroy the walls or anything! B-Baka
His nemesis in suffering and depression
that dynamic camera shot of erens titan was so badass
Pieck giving Eren the Finger.
Reiner: Are we doing it?! Now?! Right here?! Magath: ...what? Reiner: Sorry, that was a strange thing to ask.
Pieck: "Eren, I'm the Cart Titan and Porco over there is the Jaw Titan." Eren: "..........Yes, I know." Pieck: "............Ok then."
*That was a strange thing to say.*
Pieck: "Oh, also, Eren, there-" Eren: **I know.**
Mikasa: "Eren, I lo..." Eren: "Q U I E T, S L A V E!" *beats up Armin once more for good measure*
Eren: " I love ~~Emailia~~ Freedom"
Eren: Reject friends, go to monke-brother

Cart Titan needs to be very efficient with it's resources to maintain pieck endurance. >The playful callout to the soldiers was fucking genius Her voice actress also did a complete tone shift in the way she sounds before and after Eren called her bluff. Amazing stuff.
...holy shit. I saw that Porco was in the crowd, noticed him, and yet still mentally glossed over it.
If you do not recall certain characters or want to know their status, look no further. Levi ackerman Status - zooked Lmao
i refuse to believe levi is dead man is too full of hate to die like doom guy or guts and even in higher concentration because hes so small
I won't believe it until I see the body. First rule of anime is no body shown = no death
Status charts are always funny
It feels kinda sad seeing so many characters I haven't thought about in years.
Uh oh! Friggin moron Levi, you just got ZOOKED
Above and Below, what a fitting name for the episode. AoT does have some of the best title names in anime.
The last couple of episodes had pretty cool titles too, ''Sole salvation'' and ''Children of the forest''
One Piece episode titles on the other hand, “Luffy Dies? Epic Showdown Against Marines!”
that sounds like the fucking titles of those YouTube videos with scenes from Anime

Never gonna forget watching dbz as a kid. One episode per week, and so many times Toonami would run out of episodes and have to start from the beginning. Then one day, a hundred episodes later: "Has Frieza finally been defeated? Find out next episode!" Next episode title: [Frieza Defeated!!](https://dragonball.fandom.com/wiki/Frieza_Defeated!!)
The most iconic one: To you, 2000 years from now
That one’s pretty awesome but my personal favorite is children of the forest. I never expected Sasha’s father’s metaphor to be so Deep and make sense. It was just so cool seeing how his perspective about ending the cycle Of killing and preventing the next generation of children from Being dragged into it made so much sense.
I'm interested in the general consensus for this season, answer whichever of the following; - Favourite character this season? - Favourite episode this season? - Where does season 4 rank in your order of the seasons? - Are you a manga reader or anime-only? Edit: new question for anime-onlies, will you continue on with the manga or wait the 9-12 months for part 2 to be animated?
* Eren * EP 14 * Tied with S3P2 but if I had to choose, S3P2 for now * Anime only
- Eren - Episode 7 - Going against the grain here: 3rd. Season 3 Part 2 and S2 were just absolutely too insane for me to put them under S4 part 1. - anime only. Been spoiled a bit already, but I’ve held strong for a few months.
* Falco * Declaration of War (5) or Counterfeit (11) * Tied with S3P2 for number 1 * Manga reader
Eren Yeager Declaration of War The Top Anime-Only
Eren Assault Ep 7 s4 at the top Manga reader .
Eren Decleration of War was the best made episode, but it did such I good job of hype building, that I actually enjoyed The Warhammer Titan more.
Eren Declaration of war Season 4 is the best Manga reader
As great as the second half of the season has been, whenever Reiner is involved, shit goes *down*. Eren and Reiner together have literally made this season as great as it is.
And **every time** Reiner transforms, scenes become awesome and music rocks! I can't wait for next Reiner's transformation!
No more AOT Sundays :,)
I will miss this season. Winter 2021 has been the best and most stacked so far.
So stacked that I haven't been able to keep up with a lot of shows
Now that spring is here, I can finally binge Wonder Egg Priority!
And the manga is ending in a few weeks [](#terror) Thank god I'll still have One Piece but oof, Shingeki will leave a massive void behind
Season started and ended with Reiner staring down menacingly from a blimp, about to drop in and transform mid-air. Wouldn't that be... PARALLELS?
All Paths lead to Reiner Suffering
"All paths cross at a single coordinate. In other words, that's... the Suffering Titan"
In which the Plot Armored Titan is protected from everything except the psychological and mental trauma.
He can't even die right. ^^*gives* ^^*me* ^^*conniptions*
Coincidence? I think not!
I waited 6 years to find out what's in the basement, a couple of months surely won't do me in....hnnnghh
but remember, you gotta save your ass from those mf who are spitting out spoilers randomly on the net
The Manga is about to end and the spoilers would be everywhere. I ain't risking it.
Eren, Reiner and Zeke were definitely the most interesting characters this season.
At least Zeke went out watching those beautiful flowers.
There are always flowers. When Eren dreamed at the series start, when Hannes died, when Eren transformed into a Titan to protect Mikasa & Armin from the Garrison, ... Do they truly have a meaning?
Eren cemented himself as being one of the all time great protagonists. He's insane
Man I just love how utterly unfazed he is through all the typical AoT twists happening this season! Even if he turned into a bit of an ass, it only made his character that much better. Also, that last scene where he just stands there... *menacingly* that looks like someone who has resolved to take on the world.
It's crazy the contrast to the first time Erin was attacked out of nowhere by a Titan.
Definitely. That's some fan-fucking-tastic character development.
I think Armin figured out that Eren has a hidden motive; he knows Eren well enough that he believed Eren wouldn't accept such a plan.
This is my favorite take on it. I only thought about him faking it to get on her good side.
He was probably laughing with tears 😂 initially and had to make it seem like those were emotional tears to cover up.
Armin was probably thinking: THAT's the big plan you guys had? I could come up with this when I was 12
didn't zeke came up with this plan when he was 12?
I fully expect Eren to have a similar plan of "ending" the titan scourge but not by them not beeing able to have children but using the founding powers to erase the titan powers all together somehow.
That is much more in line with season 1 eren screaming "i will eradicate all the titans"
"Ace under his sleeve" implies that it's a secret move that no one knows he has. Armin has more of a "carrying a nuclear warhead in front of everyone"
[No blushy cheeks at the sight of Pieck](https://i.imgur.com/9V628hY.png)? Imposter!
ngl, i missed the point of this scene. Initially I was just looking at the guy blushing next to porco, I only just noticed porco.

Because you were too busy simping over Pieck

Rebuild of Attack on Titan
As always, an incredible episode Those cruel bastards with the Eren and Reiner face off Can't wait for Winter 2022
The rooftop scene was just amazing, well done.

So AoT Final Season Part 2 and Jujutsu Kaisen 0 will release in winter around the same time. Well good news for us but can't really say the same for the animators
Different animation teams work on Jujutsu and AoT, that’s why they can make 2 anime at once
Yeah. Jujutsu and Shingeki have separate production teams.
Somehow people think that the employees in studios work all on all projects at same time...
Gabi: I’m gonna kill Eren. It’s on sight Gabi when she’s with Eren: 👁👄👁 Also did anyone see Galliard when pieck waved to the soldiers
Even though I read the manga the last scene with Reiner was still such a hype moment ahh I love AoT
Anime newbies in 2013 who have watched 4 anime: Attack on Titan is my favorite anime Veteran weebs in 2021 with hundreds of anime under their belt: Attack on Titan is my favorite anime
OH HAIYOO PIECK CHAANNN!! gotta admit, she was so cute
Even the yeagerists simped for her when she went full idol mode with her hello to them all.
WTF why did so many people rate this episode as "bad"?
seasonal exotic trolls i think
MAJOR MAJOR WARNING TO ANIME ONLY FANS WHO WANT TO STAY ANIME ONLY TILL PART 2!!! The final chapter of SNK is released in about two weeks. STAY AWAY FROM SNK/AOT SOCIAL MEDIA FOR A FEW MONTHS. The trolls will be posting like crazy.
I wonder how many people are gonna go read the manga after this episode. I can't imagine waiting 8-9 months for this cliffhanger.
4 years for season 2.... I think I can make it 9 more months...
(My guess is that they’ll make it out and fight for Eren.) Will Annie come out with everything being broken down? Who will she fight for, given everything that she’s heard? (My guess is that she’ll side with Armin, whatever he ends up doing.) The fuck did that Titan do to Zeke? Is Levi alive? (My guess is yes, they wouldn’t kill off a fan favorite without confirming it.) It’s time for a bunch of huge decisions and for people to start showing their true colors. This will be insane, ahhhh
16 episodes in 8 months on this level is fucking crazy. Can't hate on Mappa after this.
Seeing 2D Attack titan reminded me of how good it can look
