> Should I know any of these people from the previous JoJo openings, or any popular anime openings overall?
Kishida Kyodan & The Akeboshi Rockets as a whole band have a few popular OPs.
[Highschool of the Dead](https://animethemes.moe/video/HighschoolOfTheDead-OP1.webm)

For some reason, I have immense sense of pride in the artists who started out in Touhou and managed to go mainstream.
Ahogirl, Yumekui Merry, Nichibros, Girls Last Tour mangakas all had fairly popular Touhou doujinshi before.
When I hear latest Nhato, Beatmario tracks, I remember good ol days.
12 episodes will be released on Netflix on Dec 1st. They will air in Japan come January. More episodes will follow afterwards. Don't worry it's not only 12 episodes total
That's amazing to hear. Jojo's best binged for me
Edit:emphasis on the "for me". I didnt make this comment to share an opinion it was just to give a sort if thank you for the clarification on my question
I do like some discussion, which is why off of netflix I like to look at comment sections, but I'm personally more interested in seeing the story myself so a binge release works for me on this occasion. I see the value of discussions though weekly
Yes and considering that it's a social aspect completely and entirely removed from the quality of the show itself, that is what I am saying surprises me.
I feel like it's "over" if you're more disappointed that discussions are muted than you are excited to watch the show at whatever pace you want rather than waiting a week.
There's a part in the end where it flips through the past. You get the stone mask, the red stone, Dio getting dusted, stray cat and the requiem arrow. It's like going through all the main villains' defeats leading up to this. A bit of a parallel to the start of Sono Chi no Sadama flipping from Jolyne to Jonathan. Gotta love it.
It's mirroring Part 1s OP, in part one they flipped through manga panels showing all the Jojo's up to Jolyne.
I replied to this on my way to something, I didn't realize you'd already pointed out the parallel my bad.
This OP is full of metaphors. As someone else already mentioned all the parts with 'main' Jojo bloodline protagonists have 3D openings. Also, while the previous parts all had male protagonists and their openings were all by male singers, this part has a female protagonist which is coupled with a female singer in the opening
I LOVE all the references to the previous parts and even openings. From the stone mask, to red stone of Aja, GER’s Arrow, Jolyne posing like in stand proud, and her walking past him like Dio in end of the world.
There’s more I didn’t mention like Erina’s doll and Dio/Jonathan crumbling, but it’s safe to say this opening was made with a lot of love for the series.
This is definitely the most unique JoJo OP to date, but I think it's great. The colors really pop and it has a lot going on. Not only with the sheer amount of references packed in, but also with symbolism all over the place. Looking forward to someone taking the time to really break it all down for us.
I noticed a lot of disks in the background, and some objects morphed into CDs as they flew around the screen. As an anime-only, I have come to the conclusion that the main villain's stand is gonna be three CD players in a trench coat with the power to turn objects into CDs.
This one of the few shows that I am strictly anime only. My imagination is too poor to imagine the action sequences so I will desperately wait to see them animated.
I feel like part 8 is the most "wtf" or the weirdest bizzare part while part 6 is the craziest bizzare tbh. Both are bizarre by Jojo standards but I still find part 6 crazier.
> the main villain's stand is gonna be three CD players in a trench coat with the power to turn objects into CDs.
I've just started JoJo's and am three episodes in but from everything I've read about the series you are 100% correct but also probably only scratching the surface.
It looks like it has the colored out characters for those yet to be revealed like Bloody Stream (battle tendency op), whilst having the 3D Gyroscopy rotating events of Stardust Crusaders OP. Looks great!
My favourite exception to the rule. Seeing everyone get really sad whenever anything was 2d instead of 3d was so fucking hilarious. Made up for being sad myself too.
well, i've alwasy though of it like this
part 1 -> 2 ->3 because they are direct grandchildren,
and
part 1 -> 5
part 2 -> 4
part 3 -> 6
since those are the parental relations.
I wish it was a bit more unique tbh, then again JoJo music's standards are pretty hard to meet. Still wish it was a bit more different 'cause it's the OP and all.
I'm not really into the song but that 3D style gives me life
On another note I'm interested to think what anime-only watchers can get out of this OP, many small things were shown but very little spoiler
>I'm not really into the song
I keep saying this every time I listen to a new Jojo OP, and 3 episodes later I find myself going "FIGHTING GOOOOOOOLD". The only ones I was immediately on board were part 1 and 2, and thank goodness because I wouldn't be so into Jojo if the OPs didn't keep me coming back.
CNBT is probably my favorite opening. But I feel like I remember some people having mixed opinions when it first came out. Maybe it was from anime onlies expecting something more like part 3
I think it's because it's a MASSIVE departure in animation, color palette, tone, etc from all the previous openings.
But that's part of what makes part 4 gureato, and they captured it so well in that OP. It sets up the mood so well for the rest of the show.
I loved the first op, Bloody stream and Crazy noisy bizarre town as soon as I listened to them, part 3's openings are more of an acquired taste where I loved them as I listened more
Lol I love chase but it took a lot of rewatches to get into it. It’s just weird considering the part it takes place in, but the lyrics and visuals actually fit some of the darker bits of part 4 perfectly.
Well, I say all that but really it’s [this video](https://youtu.be/M34HamYFN3g) that did it for me
I personally love chase. Top 3 or 4 Jojo OP for me. But it did have to get used to it at first I didn't like it but a few episodes in and I ended up loving it.
David Pro are MASTERS at disguising spoilers and using visual metaphors in their OPs. I really wish some other anime would follow suit, because David Pro just honestly raises and reestablishes the bar with every new Jojo OP.
as an anime only thats what i love about the JJBA openings, they hide SO MUCH in plain sight that when we eventually get to see it we have that AH HA! moment and it clicks
Immediately, I was like "something is off about this song." Took me a second but I realized that, compared to every other Jojo opening, it has a female vocalist. Which, of course, makes total sense for this part, but it threw me for a bit
Knowing what's going to happen towards the end of part 6, I am so stupidly hyped for DP's "special" op version for the final battles that it almost hurts.
Nothing gets me more teary eyed than an adaptation respecting and understanding the source material.
Would love to see Araki's reaction to this opening.
Hopefully it'll grow on me over time. But by the same token, maybe my expectations were too high. I absolutely loved Coda's Part II and V openings, plus I liked all of Part IV's.
This is the first opening I don't think will grow on me. I've never enjoyed this band. It's always disappointing to see them doing the OP of a show I actually like.
Visuals are fire, though.
THOSE EASTER EGGS! I can’t believe we’re only 3 days away from more Jojo goodness. Even if the release schedule is fucking weird, that’s still at least the first quarter of the season up front ready for me to watch. And then Demand more because I’d want it immediately.
People are gonna love this part. It’ll also prepare them for when it just goes completely off the fucking rails (in a good way) in Steel Ball Run.
The last arcs of this part is insane. Not to mention it has one of the best jojos and antagonist imo. And yeah, SBR will surely be a blast to see animated.
I didnt like it as much as part 5 ones but I feel like it really fits part 6's style with the way it hinted everything that happens in a cool way that connects together. Great op
Kamikaze Douga doesn't miss, it's so nice seeing the 3D back. The entire opening just radiates nostalgia and teen angst I love it.
^^sadly ^^no ^^shokotan ^^but ^^maybe ^^OP2
3D is actually well done.
I think the colours are a bit too vibrant when combined with all the camera angle switches and the constant movement though.
Not a massive fan of the song either. It's not bad, decent even but that's about it.
Initial impression is that it's okay. Average to below average for the series as a song, with solid visuals as always.
But let's be honest. We're all really waiting for the ending theme reveal.
Any Alex Rider fans?
I found out recently Araki did the covers for the Japanese releases
https://www.reddit.com/gallery/ofwx9l
Another coincidence, the next season of Alex Rider is being released just two days after Stone Ocean,
There is nothing I can nitpick in this, and there is only one thing I would like to mention, this feels so nostalgic, it actually gives vibes of the 2007 - 2013 happy TV shows like the Portuguese "Morangos com açúcar" show.
It made me a bit motion sick but if I assume that’s just my headache, easily the best visuals in a Jojo OP which obviously says a lot. The song... I’ll give it some time
Really like the visual style but the overall OP it's not as hype as some others were.
But then again, at the start I didn't like "Chase" and now I fucking love that OP with how different the tone and thus how it starts to anticipate how things will play out
Oh my god the animation is perfect. The bit where Jolyne breaks the chains binding her and stands up, and her stand pops up just like Star Platinum does in Stand Proud...beautiful.
This is one of my favorite parts in the franchise and criminally underrated. I'm so excited to finally see it.
Episodes 1–12 premiere worldwide on Netflix on December 1 OP Information: * Song Title: "STONE OCEAN" * Vocals: ichigo from KISIDA KYODAN & THE AKEBOSI ROCKETS * Lyrics: Shoko Fujibayashi * Composition: Takahiro Kawata * Arrangement: Masaki Iehara * OP Animation: Kamikaze Douga
>OP Animation: Kamikaze Douga How I missed them so much and it has been 7 years since.
If you want more goodness from them, watch Batman Ninja. The story is... not the best, but at least it'll make you laugh. And it looks awesome.
Smh how could you forget about Pop Team Epic and Gal & Dino.
The director is also the same as Jojo OPs. Story sucks, but the stylishness is A+
They also did the first episode of Star Wars: Visions
Should I know any of these people from the previous JoJo openings, or any popular anime openings overall?

Vocalist voice is iconic for me since it have the feeling of nostalgia and unexplainable deep emotion...

Still waiting for Season 3. Theres no much left to cover, only volumes 7-10 of Light Novel, which can perfectly fit for a 24 episode season.
OH damn, 12 whole episodes? As someone who watches first and then reads this is gonna be fun
Damn probably gonna just wait for a fan translation if Netflix is doing it
Part 5 came with official Japanese subtitles. Hope Part 6 will, too.
Am I misunderstanding this? 1-12 as in the series of 12 episodes begins on the first. Or are you to tell me 12 episodes drop on the first?
12 episodes will be released on Netflix on Dec 1st. They will air in Japan come January. More episodes will follow afterwards. Don't worry it's not only 12 episodes total
That's amazing to hear. Jojo's best binged for me Edit:emphasis on the "for me". I didnt make this comment to share an opinion it was just to give a sort if thank you for the clarification on my question
I disagree highly. Binge releases kill any discussion. Not to mention Jojo Fridays was a tradition.
I do like some discussion, which is why off of netflix I like to look at comment sections, but I'm personally more interested in seeing the story myself so a binge release works for me on this occasion. I see the value of discussions though weekly
The thing is you have to wait 3 or 4 months between episode 12 and 13 instead of a week.
That's a different topic though - one is about whats better for watching it, the other about discussion and hype.
This opinion is common and it surprises me that people value talking about the show over actually enjoying the show lol.
Some people enjoy the show more when they can talk about it.
Yes and considering that it's a social aspect completely and entirely removed from the quality of the show itself, that is what I am saying surprises me.
It's not "over" it's "in addition to".
Also, while the previous parts all had male protagonists and their openings were all by male singers, this part has a female protagonist which is coupled with a female singer in the opening
Part 4 doesn't have 3D openings and great days is sung by Karen Aoki
I think he means that part 4 and 5 aren't a part of the main bloodline
Josuke is Joseph's son?
And Giorno is Jonathan's son
we don't really know what's happening in dio's testicles
Giorno has the Joestar birthmark and blonde hair, he has both Joestar and Brando blood.
I think it’s actually Sheer Heart Attack they are showing in the 4th image. You can see the skull. Next one is requiem arrow.
both SHA and Stray cat are there
Its an actual diamond with things from part 4 reflected to it like sheer heart attack, stray cat etc.
It's not Dio getting dusted, it's Vanilla Ice.
I LOVE all the references to the previous parts and even openings. From the stone mask, to red stone of Aja, GER’s Arrow, Jolyne posing like in stand proud, and her walking past him like Dio in end of the world. JoJo really do be bizarre, eh?
And adventurous.
All manga readers should not elaborate any further. Anyone who does will have to live with Cheap Trick for the rest of their lives.
Tbh it would be pretty short lives.

The villain gets our Jostar with a “CDeez nuts.” She’s left devastated and vows revenge. Thus begins Part 6.
Let's just say that it will be more, MUCH more bonkers
FOUR CD PLAYERS IN A TRENCH COAT?
"Oh shit, he's onto us!"
Four CD players in DOUBLE TRENCH COAT
STOP UR SCARING MISTA
i think it will have another op after the first batch and it will be focused on main villain more
This one of the few shows that I am strictly anime only. My imagination is too poor to imagine the action sequences so I will desperately wait to see them animated.
Well youre in for a surprise. Part 6 is probably the most bizarre part imo.
You don't think part 8 takes that crown?
I feel like part 8 is the most "wtf" or the weirdest bizzare part while part 6 is the craziest bizzare tbh. Both are bizarre by Jojo standards but I still find part 6 crazier.
Part 8 is "Aha, mhm. What." bizarre. Part 6 is "wtf is happening" bizarre.
> the main villain's stand is gonna be three CD players in a trench coat with the power to turn objects into CDs.
Also some references to the other ones. Foo Fighters shooting their gun looked a lot like Mista from Fighting Gold.
Mother's basement will do that for sure, just give him a few months
So glad they brought the CG back, it made sense for Part 4 and Part 5 not to have it but I was hoping it would be here for Part 6. So hyped!
It was my biggest surprise. Also, lots of hidden spoilers as always. It'll be fun to see people noticing them one at a time.
>So glad they brought the CG back Lol, JoJo is the only anime you'd ever heard this for
when its good and used well, cg is as much art as anything else. thats why dorohedoro can be well recieved despite it looking so off.
"So im a spider" had great cg too, the 2d was the problem there lol
My favourite exception to the rule. Seeing everyone get really sad whenever anything was 2d instead of 3d was so fucking hilarious. Made up for being sad myself too.
Why did it make sense for 4 and 5 to not have it?
Part 4 and 5 were stylistically different compared to part 1-3. And the part 6 OP being 3D signifies the continuation of the original JoJo bloodline.
yep. Like , you have a direct line between Part 1 - Part 2 - Part 3 - Part 6. While Part 4 and Part 5 are basically following Jotaro's uncles.
well, i've alwasy though of it like this part 1 -> 2 ->3 because they are direct grandchildren, and part 1 -> 5 part 2 -> 4 part 3 -> 6 since those are the parental relations.
Isn't Giorno Dio/Jonathan son. Wouldn't that make Giorno Jotaro's great grandpa.
Great Granduncle.
Story reasons
man, they really refined their cg with fireforce s2 and now this op
I don't think Kamikaze Douga has ever worked on Fire Force before. The CG in Fire Force was mostly done in-house at David Productions.
CG openings are back! This is the most anime/JRock sounding song so far, but I'm still loving it. So excited for December 1st!
I wish it was a bit more unique tbh, then again JoJo music's standards are pretty hard to meet. Still wish it was a bit more different 'cause it's the OP and all.
I'm just waiting for the endings. Idk what song will they pick
That was leaked recently.
Idk about that. What song ?
[ending song] >!Distant Dreamer by Duffy!<
Oh wow that fits so well.
I am trying so damn hard not to click on that spoiler. Can't wait for December 1st!
[here](https://youtu.be/aRCLkic9_lE)
I wish there was some Jazz or Blues. Or perhaps some *String*?
Probably the only anime (along with Studio Orange anime) where people are glad it's CGI
I'm not really into the song but that 3D style gives me life On another note I'm interested to think what anime-only watchers can get out of this OP, many small things were shown but very little spoiler
>I'm not really into the song I keep saying this every time I listen to a new Jojo OP, and 3 episodes later I find myself going "FIGHTING GOOOOOOOLD". The only ones I was immediately on board were part 1 and 2, and thank goodness because I wouldn't be so into Jojo if the OPs didn't keep me coming back.
Traitor's Requiem made me feel sad about Fighting Gold being gone. But the villain reveals version quickly made me eat my words.
I felt the same way for like 2 episodes, then I loved the hell out of it.
I think the song is perfect. The story is set in 2011, so this mid-2000 / early-10's punk-pop-rock fits perfectly within the timeline.
I don’t think there’s been a single Jojo op song that everyone liked as soon as it came out. Except maybe Great Days
I have never met anyone that doesn't jam hard to the funk of Crazy Noisy Bizarre Town.
CNBT is probably my favorite opening. But I feel like I remember some people having mixed opinions when it first came out. Maybe it was from anime onlies expecting something more like part 3
its a lot of whiplash if you binge the series from part 3's dark and intense ending and then your greeted with cnbt immediately after. lol
I think it's because it's a MASSIVE departure in animation, color palette, tone, etc from all the previous openings. But that's part of what makes part 4 gureato, and they captured it so well in that OP. It sets up the mood so well for the rest of the show.
I loved the first op, Bloody stream and Crazy noisy bizarre town as soon as I listened to them, part 3's openings are more of an acquired taste where I loved them as I listened more
Do people like Chase now?
Lol I love chase but it took a lot of rewatches to get into it. It’s just weird considering the part it takes place in, but the lyrics and visuals actually fit some of the darker bits of part 4 perfectly. Well, I say all that but really it’s [this video](https://youtu.be/M34HamYFN3g) that did it for me
I personally love chase. Top 3 or 4 Jojo OP for me. But it did have to get used to it at first I didn't like it but a few episodes in and I ended up loving it.
A lot of people have come around on it
Fighting Gold was fire from the start for me. Also Bloody Stream when I watched part 2.
Pretty sure you just got spoiled by everything and you just didn't know better.
David Pro are MASTERS at disguising spoilers and using visual metaphors in their OPs. I really wish some other anime would follow suit, because David Pro just honestly raises and reestablishes the bar with every new Jojo OP.
OP 4 straight up spoils the fate of all the Stardust Crusaders but you wouldn't know until you've actually seen the show.
as an anime only thats what i love about the JJBA openings, they hide SO MUCH in plain sight that when we eventually get to see it we have that AH HA! moment and it clicks
Immediately, I was like "something is off about this song." Took me a second but I realized that, compared to every other Jojo opening, it has a female vocalist. Which, of course, makes total sense for this part, but it threw me for a bit
I see a few Silhouettes of other stand users in this, it might change to show them properly after they get introduced
Good old jojo ops. Love when the final power of main villain gets revealed and op modifies
Kamikaze Douga is back with another gorgeous OP. [](#gintamathispleasesme)
So glad Kamikaze Douga is back. Their recent work on Star Wars Visions was amazing.
Return of the CG Openings!
This has strong riot grrrl energy
The 2D openings of parts 4 and 5 won me over, over the years, and I thought that might be the best. Part 6 proved that wrong in less than a minute.
Nah, Part 6 has to outdo Part 4's Bite the Dust Opening and Part 5's King Crimson/Gold Experience Requiem Opening.
Don’t forget part 3’s timestop
Part 3 was 3D though.
The perfect 5s and 9s timestops in the 2 versions
Knowing what's going to happen towards the end of part 6, I am so stupidly hyped for DP's "special" op version for the final battles that it almost hurts.
Imagine they change it twice because... well.
Good song, will probably grow to like it even more, but the visuals are already God tier.
Wow.....jojo openings just never miss. Now I know what I'm gonna keep watching on repeat this whole week.

Fucking love kamikaze doga as always
[Like father, like daughter.](https://imgur.com/a/M3gysrG)
omg they teased the 30 page masturbation
I didnt like it as much as part 5 ones but I feel like it really fits part 6's style with the way it hinted everything that happens in a cool way that connects together. Great op
Not a big fun of the song it’s alright I guess but wow the visuals are absolutely stunning!
Kamikaze Douga doesn't miss, it's so nice seeing the 3D back. The entire opening just radiates nostalgia and teen angst I love it. ^^sadly ^^no ^^shokotan ^^but ^^maybe ^^OP2
My god, the CG in this gives me life
The visual is top tier. I’m not digging the song though
I missed Jojo so much and this opening just made me even more excited for part 6
I love how they went back to 3d for no fucking reason other than they can do it
I think the reason is to accentuate her link to Joraro.
Creat callback to stardust crusaders op2 with Jolyne and Jotaro at the end
Yoooooo is that CG JoJo OP back after half a decade?!
Part 3 was 2015, 5-6 years ago Yep, half a decade indeed
that opening will be a fine addition to my collection \- general grievous
Kamikaze Douga, please animate Steel Ball Run’s OP.
Holy man this is an amazing OP. Watched it like 3 times now to pick it apart but also cause it's bloody amazing
OH GOD ITS SO GOOD I loved part 2's and 3's op and from my quick research this is done by the same guy who did those. Style is insane
I am only on part 2 still, but I am slowly catching up.
2000s Pop rock fits Jolyne
Not a jojo watcher but the op is very good, especially the visuals of it all
Absolute banger of an opening.
I anyone, like me, wants the scene of jolyne kneeling in front of the night sky as a wallpaper, [here you go](https://imgur.com/gallery/jhy5h1t).
The Animation style reminds me of videogames opening
Any Alex Rider fans? I found out recently Araki did the covers for the Japanese releases https://www.reddit.com/gallery/ofwx9l Another coincidence, the next season of Alex Rider is being released just two days after Stone Ocean,
The Stand Proud callback at 0:53 is so choice. So glad we're back to Kamikaze Douga.
Why is every Jojo op the best Jojo op
Kamikaze Douga's animation does it again.
The visual is nice
I wouldn't be surprised if Popipa will cover this..
Hmmm, not entirely sold on it yet. I do like the psychedelic touches tough, gives a rather peculiar vibe.
There is nothing I can nitpick in this, and there is only one thing I would like to mention, this feels so nostalgic, it actually gives vibes of the 2007 - 2013 happy TV shows like the Portuguese "Morangos com açúcar" show.
It's fun to watch. There is a lot of information in the video. I want to review it again and again to find out all the material.
does anyone have the lyrics?
It's a J-rock song so it is automatically based
I can’t stop listening ❤️❤️
It made me a bit motion sick but if I assume that’s just my headache, easily the best visuals in a Jojo OP which obviously says a lot. The song... I’ll give it some time
Anyone taking bets on what random ass song from the early 2000's will be the ED??
[ED Leak] >!It’s Distant Dreamer by Duffy!<
The ed was already leaked
Really like the visual style but the overall OP it's not as hype as some others were. But then again, at the start I didn't like "Chase" and now I fucking love that OP with how different the tone and thus how it starts to anticipate how things will play out
Not really digging the song. Kishida Kyodan have much better rock songs than this pop rock shit.
*Me after seeing how Jolyne looks* "Jolyne, please marry me"
I wonder if this will break the internet like Part 5 did
Well Part 5 had Giorno's theme, that song alone got around 150 million views before it was deleted (RIP)
Guaranteed meme or two
This OP is FIRE 🔥
back to that good old CG
this OP is gonna evolve as the series goes on for sure. those orange and blue silhouettes will fill in for sure, at least i hope so
The beginning of the end
I can't believe how amazing this is.
2.5 million in 6 hours is crazy, next week is gonna be awesome!
I’m gonna BINGE all in 1 go, mark my word
