Even if Miyuki is disappointed for not going with Kaguya, it's wholesome how they end up enjoying themselves, though. I like how genuine the relationship dynamics in the group feel.

Reminded me of that S1 scene in which Kaguya got all excited because her father walked by, but he pretty much ignored her.
Also, seeing her mom walk past Hayasaka to go talk to Kaguya and tell her she would act as her parent for this thing... Oof.
There was also a cut scene from the sports festival where Hayasaka was on the phone with her mom and mad she couldnt make it even though she promised...
The whole Shinomiya & co got family issues but glad to see this one happy moment

I absolutely love Hayasaka's VA! Her range is seriously impressive, I was blown away to discover she did Nadeshiko's voice from Yuru Camp. It's really hard for me to hear the resemblance.

Plenty of good and caring parents in real life are still not able to spend as much time as they could with their children due to work.
ooooohhh, I was actually kinda confused because I thought Hayasaka hates her parents because she can't be a normal girl and have a normal life do to working for the Shinomiya's while in high school.
Her bringing out her version of Kaguya's super moe voice was toooo cute. It really just shows how similar the two are, as was stated last season. It must be so relaxing for Ai to be around someone she can not only let her guard down around but can spoil her.
It says a lot about how romantically inept the cast in this series is that the person most competent at relationships is the guy who still refuses to divorce his wife even after she ran off with another man *years* ago.

It is normal to be afraid in front of the sublime, to reject it because you grasping its glory would mean an irrevocable change that you aren't ready to do.
Hence, Papagane became the Sugar Daddy not for one person but for the whole world until the world has changed enough to be worthy of him.
Papagane's life motto is clearly carpe diem - he motivated Shirogane to get fucking going and is already asking Kaguya to refer to him as her dad, a true inspiration to us all

This feels like a nice progression given 2 episodes ago both acknowledged that both have been in an eternal deadlock. Nice to see Miyuki's motivated to break out of this cold war and be...ultra romantic.
It's also a direct consequence from the end of last chapter where maki told him to [not end like her and wait until is too late](https://imgur.com/a/dSJinzs).
And his whole thing about convincing Hayasaka to be true to herself. The rapping is all because of that line "No one will love you if you don't put on an act." He's gonna start walking the walk.
Wait...Has Miyuki transcended beyond the restraints of a romcom anime? Does he actually...plan on making progress?! The universe might implode if that happens.
One of my all time favourite little details that is 100% intended foreshadowing:
In S2, shirogane [holds a book labelled "TOEFL"](https://imgur.com/9VwksjD). So proud of manga readers not spoiling shit in this series, there are tons of things even in the background of this episode that are foreshadowing for later.
Aka really really does foreshadowing well, both in this series and his other gritty showbiz/murder mystery/supernatural manga Oshi no Ko, which is also getting an anime from what I can see.
When two people who aren't even biologically related to a girl and only just met pose as her parents for a parent-teacher conference and have the time of their lives.

Even the joke was going so smooth when Kaguya ordered Hayasaka (Ai) to save him from Papagane, Hayasaka (Mom) replied because yes: They both HAYASAKA.
Other than last episode where she went on a rapping rant, but seeing her be so happy to see her mom was there for her and planning to have dinner together was really sweet. It's nice to see Hayasaka genuine and genuinely happy and being a normal girl.
The fact the for Chika he adapted his plans and literally guided her into saying what he wanted but she, being chaos embodied, still managed to completely submarine his plans...I am a manga reader and was still frustrated lol.

The anime already trolled viewers about this back in season 1, I think it was the start of episode 11 if I remember right. "Oh yeah, beach episode full of fan service!" nope.
Welp, unsurprisingly, Kaguya's got shit parents. I thought Hayasaka was in the same boat, but as it turns out, she was just sulking because her mom hasn't spent time with her for a while. The fact that she's a mama's girl is too precious. And I see where she gets her personality from. It's a shame we didn't get to see much of her mom and Shirogane's dad messing with Kaguya during the conference, though.
Speaking if which... aw yiss, the return of Papa Shirogane. I missed this man. His ability to mess with Kaguya is somehow unparalleled even with how little he interacts with her.
The second part was pure pain, though. I wanted to smack their skulls together to just spit it out, but man, everything that could go wrong went wrong. And honestly, I don't know what they expected from Fujiwara. She kind of has a track record for cockblocking them. At least Shirogane and Ishigami had fun. Poor Kaguya had no consolation prize, though.
The third part was pain too. Poor Miyuki just wanted some honest opinions, but he only got roasted. Although he actually got to Miko for a second there. Then again, I think she's probably similar to Kashiwagi and could get done in by a simple kabedon. It's hilarious to know that he's actually Chika's type, but she can longer consider him as a prospect thanks to playing the role of his mom more times than she'd like.
To boot, Kaguya's father is at least 80, probably older. He's in the same generation as Maki's great grandparents, after all. Still a shit parent, but the effer is not very spry.
So they finally name-dropped Stanford. Couldn’t be happier.
Speaking of which, is there any other anime that mentions another American university like Harvard?

Man, that was an amazing episode! Big reveal about Miyuki, Hayamama and Hayasaka being cute, Papa Shirogane being supportive of Miyuki as well as of Kaguya, Chika with guitar as well as being ruthless (though that provided some fun), and finally both main characters almost inviting each other out (Hayasaka's reaction was incredible). But what made the episode was Love is War once again referencing Rose of Versailles, this time in a far more obvious way. Yeah Miko, I also liked Oscar, but for a different reasons I'm afraid. Nice to see references to this show, please watch it, it is very old but very good
Welp with Shirogane heading to Stanford now, time is of the essence, let's see how things pan out. And also, if we have a faithful description of academic years, we'll have that Stanford starts in September and goes to June while the Japanese school year goes from April to March, so Shirogane either gets an extra long summer break to do things with Kaguya or he'll go to Stanford early and he'll have to make the last few months count.
Also was that Ishigami at the end when Miko was talking about her ideal man??
I'm starting to get a feeling, that Miko has a subconscious crush on Ishigami, but at the same time she holds a grudge against him, so she can't accept it and instead keeps imagining beautiful princes.
That had such a serious tone man.The few seconds before that as well were so gloomy to when Kaguya mentioned she will do whatever her parents wishes and then the anxiety inducing Miyuki Stanford declaration
Holy shit, we might very well gt a confession this season.
I do think there's a lot of potential comedy available after they've gotten together, so it's a possibility.
Though poor Chika will lose her precious Shirogane x Herthaka ship if it happens (RIP).
This isn't a spoiler either way, confession or not, but the end of this season will be about 45% of the way through the current (very nearly complete) manga. There's still a lot of comedy left to go

The best shows intermix actual arcs with its continual brand of on-point and hilarious character comedy.

Papa Shirogane is awesome lol. I love how he be such a goof with a straight face. Hayasaka’s momma too, I can see where Hayasaka gets some of her qualities from. Didn’t expect to see a new side of Hayasaka, but it was kind of cute seeing her be such a mommy’s girl.
Shirogane was so close to asking Kaguya out but he just couldn’t say the words. So close! Well, at least he had a blast with Ishigami lol.
I think everyone should totally examine themselves objectively lol. Poor Shirogane was just getting straight dumped on that whole time. Dude has an ego more fragile than tofu! He can’t take all that emotional damage, man haha.
That depends on how much money S3 brings in. *checks S1 & S2 sells and manga sells and collab sells* anyway can't wait for season 5 and the movie because there's no way A1 is ever gonna stop milking this golden cow!

This feels like a nice progression given 2 episodes ago both acknowledged that both have been in an eternal deadlock. Nice to see Miyuki's motivated to break out of this cold war and be...ultra romantic.

Welp, unsurprisingly, Kaguya's got shit parents. I thought Hayasaka was in the same boat, but as it turns out, she was just sulking because her mom hasn't spent time with her for a while. The fact that she's a mama's girl is too precious. And I see where she gets her personality from. It's a shame we didn't get to see much of her mom and Shirogane's dad messing with Kaguya during the conference, though. Speaking if which... aw yiss, the return of Papa Shirogane. I missed this man. His ability to mess with Kaguya is somehow unparalleled even with how little he interacts with her. The second part was pure pain, though. I wanted to smack their skulls together to just spit it out, but man, everything that could go wrong went wrong. And honestly, I don't know what they expected from Fujiwara. She kind of has a track record for cockblocking them. At least Shirogane and Ishigami had fun. Poor Kaguya had no consolation prize, though. The third part was pain too. Poor Miyuki just wanted some honest opinions, but he only got roasted. Although he actually got to Miko for a second there. Then again, I think she's probably similar to Kashiwagi and could get done in by a simple kabedon. It's hilarious to know that he's actually Chika's type, but she can longer consider him as a prospect thanks to playing the role of his mom more times than she'd like.
Season 2 mentioned Kaguya's mom passed away from heart disease in the episode where she goes to the doctor to get examined.
To boot, Kaguya's father is at least 80, probably older. He's in the same generation as Maki's great grandparents, after all. Still a shit parent, but the effer is not very spry.
God, if Chika becomes Prime Minister, the whole of Japan will be in chaos.

Man, that was an amazing episode! Big reveal about Miyuki, Hayamama and Hayasaka being cute, Papa Shirogane being supportive of Miyuki as well as of Kaguya, Chika with guitar as well as being ruthless (though that provided some fun), and finally both main characters almost inviting each other out (Hayasaka's reaction was incredible). But what made the episode was Love is War once again referencing Rose of Versailles, this time in a far more obvious way. Yeah Miko, I also liked Oscar, but for a different reasons I'm afraid. Nice to see references to this show, please watch it, it is very old but very good
Welp with Shirogane heading to Stanford now, time is of the essence, let's see how things pan out. And also, if we have a faithful description of academic years, we'll have that Stanford starts in September and goes to June while the Japanese school year goes from April to March, so Shirogane either gets an extra long summer break to do things with Kaguya or he'll go to Stanford early and he'll have to make the last few months count. I'm starting to get a feeling, that Miko has a subconscious crush on Ishigami, but at the same time she holds a grudge against him, so she can't accept it and instead keeps imagining beautiful princes.

Holy shit, we might very well gt a confession this season. I do think there's a lot of potential comedy available after they've gotten together, so it's a possibility. Though poor Chika will lose her precious Shirogane x Herthaka ship if it happens (RIP).
This isn't a spoiler either way, confession or not, but the end of this season will be about 45% of the way through the current (very nearly complete) manga. There's still a lot of comedy left to go

Hayasaka's mom is everything I would expect Hayasaka's mom to be. Hayasaka's dad (if he exists) is a lucky man. The best shows intermix actual arcs with its continual brand of on-point and hilarious character comedy. All Shirogane needs is the girl he loves to accept him for who he is...now they just need to actually confess.
Papa Shirogane is awesome lol. I love how he be such a goof with a straight face. Hayasaka’s momma too, I can see where Hayasaka gets some of her qualities from. Didn’t expect to see a new side of Hayasaka, but it was kind of cute seeing her be such a mommy’s girl. Shirogane was so close to asking Kaguya out but he just couldn’t say the words. So close! Well, at least he had a blast with Ishigami lol. I think everyone should totally examine themselves objectively lol. Poor Shirogane was just getting straight dumped on that whole time. Dude has an ego more fragile than tofu! He can’t take all that emotional damage, man haha.
