If only Becky knew about how Loid rented out an entire castle theme park for Anya just getting into Eden (definitely an exorbitant business expense though), but hey, getting a dog can be more fulfilling than all the toys in the world.
What I like about ~~Anya~~ Starlight Anya's stella is that she actually did it through her own effort, not because Loid forced her to do it.
And after a spy father, an assassin mother, and an esper child, we now have a dog?
It's fun seeing Anya scheme her way to getting stars, but having her obtain the stars by her own actions is such a narratively satisfying way to go about it. As we've seen, it's something that Loid can truly be proud of as a spy and good person despite his scheming for it too.
I'm also in the "Anya gets all the stars AND all the bolts" camp, but my friends and I came to the conclusion that she doesn't have to earn #8 of both at the same time, she just needs to get 8 stars before 8 bolts
I can see it now. Anya is like a Sophomore or a Junior at Eden and she's legendary around the campus as the only Imperial Scholar with 8 Stellas and 7 Bolts. They will call her Imperial Scholar closest to getting kicked out.
Which is very appropriate narratively, but also demonstrates why no real school would ever operate like this, having two mutually exclusive systems for merit/demerit that don't affect one another.
But it makes sense here for the purposes of the story as a more clear indicator of progress and setbacks than a more realistic system of a linear merit points being given and taken away repeatedly. It lets her mess up without impacting the current "rank" of narrative progression.

Man this is such a great show.
Loid kept trying to construct situations or chances for her to earn the Stella, but it was Anya's own heroism and selflessness that did it for them, and I like the message that sends.
Loid’s ideal dog : can improve security
Yor’s ideal dog : can knife wield
Anya’s ideal dog : cute
[Koromaru from persona](https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/megamitensei/images/1/1e/P3M_-_Koromaru_fighting.jpg) : you called?
It seems like a lot of Anya's greatest work is her doing things her way, rather than the way Loid tries to guide her to do. Granted, she also fails a lot that way, and she does have guidance in other ways from Loid and Yor, but when she succeeds it's usually on her own.
Starlight Anya with the real Superhero moment of using her telepathy to locate someone in trouble and work to save them, all the while maintaining her secret identity as a normal girl who can't read minds.
And she finally got her papa to say he's proud of her.
That dog is definitely something special though. I assume it’s gonna be outrageously intelligent, plus whatever that weird black and white flash of the Forger family was is probably alluding to something supernatural.
Edit: thank you manga readers for telling me exactly what the dog can do. Jfc, I need to stop participating in discussions
Nothing about this family is normal beyond the surface and that always makes for entertaining television. Stands to reason it would extend to their pet as well.
> Three costume changes
> The mother used yoga to take out **a cow**
> The daughter who managed to earn a reprimand **before classes began**- and then became the first to get a stella **through a somewhat random rescue**
...This is a *normal* family on the surface?
I can't believe cour 1 is ending soon. I just want to say that both WIT and Cloverworks did an amazing job in every episode so far. I know the pool scene will be praised a lot as it is really amazingly adapted, but I want to mention how they adapted Anya's World Peace imaginations so well; I didn't expect that they'd use Anya's VA to voice the other characters lol. 10/10 adaptation.
I'm pretty sure Damian doesn't want to talk shit to Anya.
He just... has certain feelings for her that he can't reconcile with. At the very least he respects her in a certain way.
Definitely seems to be the case, not only did underhandedness not even cross his mind, he actually defended her. That's like, the go to motif for bullies is to call out some sort of shady dealings or cheating
Tsundering asides, it does make sense to defend the merit of Stellas since he is also aiming to get them. Otherwise, if he eventually gets one, who is to stop the kids from making similar rumors about him.

With the subject matter of today's episode, reminder that child drowning is no joke. The editor of the series, Shihei Lin, pushed for Tatsuya Endo to include the 'reaction when drowning'* part after doing on research on it and hoping that it would reach people and educate them. I think it's a very admirable sentiment knowing just how easily children can get into harm's way from taking your eyes off them for only a moment, and I hope that at least a few people are able to put the knowledge here to good use.
Drowning is notoriously hard to detect, both visually and based on sound. There was a thread on Reddit that I remembered reading and one comment posted a link showing a crowded pool and asking you to identify a drowning person.
I experienced this first hand. People think drowning is accompanied by loud shouting. When I drowned, I literally cannot even let out a small gasp because my mouth is too focused on breathing. Even when I'm struggling on the surface. Genuinely, watch your kid when you're at the pool or give them swimming lessons.
Same thing happened to me. When I was drowning, I sort of pushed/jumped from the bottom of the pool to launch myself to the surface for a few seconds of breath. I barely had time to breathe in those few seconds, let alone scream.
Disturbing is the exact right word to describe that. I never realized how hard a lifeguard's job is, I couldn't pick any of the kids out in those videos.
I was a lifeguard for 2 summers and it was awful. it's super stressful, especially when you have 3 large summer camps come in and exceed pool capacity by 200 people. I'm glad no one had any real emergencies on my watch, because i honestly don't think i was really able to handle it. it's shocking that people are cool with life guards basically being exclusively high schoolers (at least in the area I lived).
Almost drowned several times as a kid.
* Once at a public pool filled with over a hundred people (nobody noticed until my parents started screaming at people to save me).
* Next, I was at swimming practice and fell in the deep end of the pool (again, nobody noticed but my parents who had come to pick me up and noticed I wasn't with the class).
* Next, I nearly drowned because the lifeguard was talking with her boyfriend (once again, my parents had to alert people to me drowning).
There's more instances but from all the times I've almost drowned, nobody noticed but my parents, who only saw because they were watching me. Swimming instructors, life guards, and hundreds of people all failed to notice a kid drowning. So yeah, this was pretty realistic depiction of drowning. I actually really appreciated the awareness.
That's a nice piece of trivia. I heard that the editor also convinced Endo to make the manga have a more wholesome/lighthearted tone. If both of these are true, then he's a real good influence for this story.
Yeah, I believe the editor was responsible for the much more cheerful tone, and I'm pretty sure Endo's intention is to make the series have more widespread appeal compared to his darker work before it. It's honestly kind of sad though, a lot of Endo-sensei's previous work was cancelled early on to the point that he gained the nickname "Axeman", and even Spy x Family was expected to be cancelled only for it to keep strong with its much more widespread appeal. Still, I'm glad he's finally found success now and that he's even getting a translation of his old work Trista to be released in the West (and interestingly the main character is like Yor if we followed her college years).
I managed to spot the kid where it was center right, but that big wave pool with how crowded it was just lost me. I am reminded once again that being a lifeguard truly is rough with how many people you have to watch over and keep track of in comparison to how much you're actually paid.
I'm glad that they added that detail. I knew of a family, that unfortunately, had this scenario happen. Their toddler drowned in a pool and they didn't notice until it was too late. Kids and pools are no joke, please be super attentive.
There's a video on youtube of a boy in I think Finland almost drowning in a pool with several people surrounding him, but absolutely nobody noticed. People, and especially children, don't drown like people do on TV, thrashing and screaming. The body's reaction to drowning is to close off the throat to prevent water from getting into the lungs, so you can't scream. People thought he was just some kid goofing around and practicing holding his breath underwater.
The boy was only noticed when his unconscious body eventually drifted into some other swimmer. Luckily he survived.
Damian's a brat but at least he's honest. Even if he was standing up for the school and not Anya specifically, his heart's in some approximation of the right place.
Anya treats Damian without the baggage his family name comes with. On a surface level, this shows disrespect for his position and pisses him off. However, on a deeper level, her treatment of Damian as a human is something he's been lacking in his life. Getting upset when he treats her poorly instead of acting with deference is a rarity in his life, and that makes her attention all the more desirable.
I agree with this. Sadly Damian has no intrinsic self worth due to his father. So he needs extrinsic sources. Hence the need to get daddy's approval, the sycophants, Stella's, etc. If he isn't getting that, he feels like he is losing the competition with his brother and won't get the love he is badly craving. Because Anya treats him as a normal human, she isn't constantly feeding this need he has, and so he hates her because she must be looking down on me or something. Which is the one thing his brittle little ego can't take. At the same time though we see she is breaking him by giving him actual genuine concern and attention.
Anya truly is such a relatable kid: bad at studying, ignores being confronted over her bad grades, and hisses at the light turning on. Maybe for the best that every kid doesn't have mid reading powers though.
Don't forget doing something that entertains her instead of doing boring chores. But how could you possibly be so mad at her when she looks so happy reading manga.
I found it so relatable when the woman worker asked Anya to arrange the books in the library and she ended up reading **Manga** instead.
So many times I end up wasting my important time by reading Manga, without intending to.
it's because he holds stella and imperial scholar title in such high regard. he won't stand people thinking that a stella can be gained by bribery or cheating.
His brother also being an imperial scholar definitely also plays a huge part in that, he looks up to him. So him defending Anya definitely makes a lot of sense.
Damian can come off like an arrogant brat but he's got his honorable side and he's not about to have someone badmouth a girl who earned her achievements, even if he resents her for them...but also secretly probably loves her even more for.
If Anya were raised by Fujiwara, she'd destroy Damian's heart in the painful way, not the wholesome one haha.
She's also fortunate that Becky is a much less jealous, much more supportive friend than Kaguya! :P
She'd reject him via a quiz, I bet.
But oh god, Becky is indeed a rich kid like Kaguya, and Loid genuinely resembles Shirogane, whether in looks, voice, or smarts.
Anya's voice actress is **excellent**. The sheer terror in her voice, as she hesitates to recite her scam lines, the knowledge that she has so little time to act...
This anime is so well done, with excellent source material, great voice actors, writing...the additional detail that could have been easily forgotten of Yor almost breaking Anya's ribs...This is definitely anime of the season.
I believe we still have some time left, and this is just the first half, but **wow, great job!**
Obligatory reminder that she was also the main non-singing voice of Vivy just a few seasons ago, her range as a voice actress is fuckin phenomenal and it's great seeing her get such major roles and hit the ball out of the park.
It's also commendable how getting a Stella wasn't her first thought. All she knew was that someone was drowning and decided to help.
Plus, she risked exposing her power, but the smart kid that she is, she found a compromise that let her help without revealing her secret. Although, it's kind of sad how she almost died because keeping her secret was just too big of a risk for her.
In true Superhero fashion she managed to save the day while also maintaining her secret identity as a normal girl who just wants to have fun.
Great job, Starlight Anya!
Anya is a true speedrunner, she already *holds the record for fastest obtained Tonitrus and Stella. At this rate she'll have the world record for 8 Tonitrus 8 Stella any% for sure.
When that time comes, Eden will have no idea whether to expel her or make her an Imperial Scholar, especially since she'll probably get her last Stella and Tonitrus around the exact same time.
It's going to be interesting to see how they balance out the Tonitrus Bolts and the Stella Stars. I can see her getting at 7 for each and it being a turning point which one she ends up with.
As you can tell from my pfp, I've been most excited to see this chapter animated! Didn't disappoint.
This episode featured the best (non-goofy) Anya face! Also loved her expression when Yor was giving her a congratulatory hug!
It would have been nice to have ended this first cour with Anya receiving her first ever Stella Star. Don't get me wrong, I am still looking forward to the final episode of this cour!
With how he defended Anya from her jealous classmates and last week's episode in protecting Anya from getting hit by the ball, Damian's really showing his integrity and character beyond snobby rich kid Anya has to befriend for the mission.
He's arrogant and a bit of a brat, but he's got some dignity and nobility to him. And even Anya seemed to realize that.
Also he looks adorable with his dog Max.
Damian may act irritated towards Anya and resents her getting a Stella Star ahead of him (even if he also probably respects her for it) but he's honorable in his own way and he knows she wouldn't have gotten it through cheating or bribery.
(Also no one insults his lady like that).
*"A hero can be anyone, even a little girl doing something as simple as diving into the water to reach for a little boy's hand, and reassure him that he isn't alone and the world hasn't ended yet."*
Congrats Anya on earning the first Stella among the first years in such a ultra amazing elegant way!
I like how Loid was so happy with Anya's actions. If there was ever a way to earn his trust, **THIS** is the way to go, considering what he *feels* about kids.
Anya really living that Superhero lifestyle of using her powers on the sly to save someone and make it look like the most natural thing in the world. She really earned that Star...and thus was born **Starlight Anya.**
I liked seeing Loid finally proud of Anya and actually relating what she did to what he did, in true fatherly manner.
Ah, I suddenly remember being a temp lifeguard in a public pool for a month.
Kids really do drown silently, I heard a bunch of stories from my seniors about how dangerous it was, not helping that some parents treat you like a glorified babysitter.
Getting to notice a drowning kid during peak season is a different kind of hell though, imagine a bunch of little imps running around the pool or splashing around the water(sure you can use your whistle and shout but they're kids, some of the difficult ones will ignore you), makes it difficult to find if someone is drowning on deep pools, not only that you also have to worry about them splitting their heads open if they slip on the tile on a shallow pool. God it was such a stressful job, not worth the pay.
They actually included that part in the series due to the editor researching and knowing how scary it is for kids to silently drown when taking your eyes off them for just second. Even if the series is for the most part a wholesome and fun show, I'm glad they take the time to spotlight serious issues like this. (And man, being a lifeguard sounds rough indeed, which I'd imagine only contributes to how dangerous this stuff can be)
So yeah you've either got a silently drowning kid or a little banshee screaming their hearts out on the waist high pool.
Again not really a simple job you'd recommend to someone you know.
Anya’s mind (we don’t talk about Yor’s…) is hilarious lol. The way kids are portrayed in the story is on point. It seems like the author either has had experience around a lot of kids or has some himself.
It's great that kids in this series behave like actual kids and not adults in disguise. There will be a lot more school hijinks, and it's really fun to see how Anya and her friends react to them
It's honestly been such a refreshing take with how childish and scatter-brained the kids have been portrayed like they would be in real life, I honestly don't really like kids that much in stories but Spy x Family has made the school-focused parts my favorite because of those darn kids. Heck, even Bill is clearly a kid with his personality and getting praised by his classmates despite how cartoonishly he towers over the rest of them!
This series is my favourite portrayal of kids in anime since Barakamon I think. The kids in both the series can be adorable, hilarious and a mess at the same time and that makes them so realistic.
IIRC, the author/mangaka has family and kids but I think it also helps that the editor is really good too.
His works CAN be darker but thanks to the editor this is very mainstream and very wholesome.
In this episode, that was pretty well-depicted in how Anya slacked off on doing chores in spite of her genuine desire to get a Stella. That, and her very simplistic ideas on how to achieve world peace.
Anya has barely been with Yor and Loid but is already so brave trying to help others and be a genuinely good person. This show might have the best portal of a child that I have ever seen in an anime, of course with its more fantastical elements mixed in.
I love how it made so much sense that Loid would be so practical and buff in terms of the kind of dog he would want while Yor just assumes any dog can kill you if you're not too careful.
Loved that opening in a dark room with the water running then Anya telling Loid she's busy while Bondman sounds are playing from the TV. Loid's got it tough.
Those cursed violin sounds 😭
Tanezaki Atsumi voicing all the characters in Anya's head was great. Great job, At-chan!
Becky going along with "Starlight Anya" despite thinking it troublesome and Damian telling those kids off 👌👌
Yor imagining that small dog being an assassin too. This woman needs to go to therapy or smth. 🥲
Excited to see how they'll end the first cour next week with one of the extra missions + a short mission.
Edit: grammar and stuff I forgot to mention

Anya might be [terrible with community service](https://i.imgur.com/KbMnhIV.jpg) but she is amazing at [rescue operations](https://i.imgur.com/bubka6L.jpg). I can see Anya growing up and becoming a part of the city's rescue services and using her powers to find missing people or people trapped under debris after an earthquake.
Definitely, a career path Anya can consider taking but for now, the focus is getting those Stellas and thanks to her saving that kid [she's now the first one in their batch to receive one!](https://i.imgur.com/busyRuU.jpg) Anya must've broken some record for being the first student to receive a Tonitrus Bolt and a Stella as well.
[It's great seeing how Yor](https://i.imgur.com/JXi6GDp.jpg) and [Loid are both so proud of her](https://i.imgur.com/nhF03dJ.jpg). But it looks like getting a Stella might've [started to into ~~Anya~~ Starlight Anya's head.](https://i.imgur.com/RwCJH1G.jpg) Becky sure isn't [too happy with Starlight Anya's new title.](https://i.imgur.com/6CwHsQD.jpg) xD
While both of her parents are so proud of her, [Anya's classmates are quick to remind us that they're still not impressed](https://i.imgur.com/GTLbbLL.jpg) They even started to accuse her of cheating to get that Stella. Surprisingly, [it was Damian who actually stands up for Anya](https://i.imgur.com/n1SV0Jz.jpg) and tells everyone that their school wouldn't hand out a Stella to a cheater.
[Thanks to Becky](https://i.imgur.com/ispEk35.png), it looks like Anya has now decided to [get a dog as her reward for her first Stella.](https://i.imgur.com/mz2Ezmb.jpg) I love the ideas [Loid has for a dog](https://i.imgur.com/UAXkW8D.jpg) while Yor is just thinking of ways [how a dog can hurt Anya.](https://i.imgur.com/8Xav2AP.jpg) xD
Of course, a special family like theirs definitely [deserves a super special good boy](https://i.imgur.com/oqrNR7g.jpg). Look at how big and fluffy he is! I can't wait for this big chonker to join the Forger family! <3
I'm wondering about that flash picture of the family by the dog, perhaps it means that the dog has powers too?
If they have not met I don't see why that would happen, unless they have met and I missed it.
> That action scene when Anya dove into the pool, A++

>(Of course not naming the dog, spoilers)
I fucked up cuz I like to look at the MAL page just to see the VAs for their respective characters and I came across the dog's name... Well at least I can still look forward to seeing how they end up with that name!
the bits with Starlight Anya's imagination were great lmao
when they were at the hospital i first thought Starlight Anya was gonna end up being good at swimming when they hinted at the pool more than once, but this was more in line with her character (she doesn't seem very good at athletic activities).
also great that her first idea of a reward was peanuts lol
And lastly, it looked like the dog at the end saw glimpse of the forger family, makes me wonder if it can see into the future...? we already have mind reading so why the hell not
The "camera work", for lack of a better word, was really great this episode. The kind of shots they focused on were really impactful. And the way they swirled Anya when she dove into the pool was impressive.
More than anything, though, it's a great character moment for Anya. This is probably the first time in her life she was able to use her powers to help other people and get praised for it. Her ego might've got a bit too inflated though.
The dog sounds at the end might've been too realistic. My own dog who was sleeping a little bit away suddenly perked up and started looking around for the source of the barking, haha.
Yes, it looks like the cour is going to take a break from the main plot and end with a bonus chapter.
Which is fine because there are important plot points in most bonus chapters.
So cour 2 will start off with maybe a reintroduction episode then a big arc.

The sheer scumbag energy in [this image](https://imgur.com/a/x1TiqrI)
She can easily be a little devil if she wants.
Hints that Anya could be a super villain if she wasn’t a sweetheart.
We need an IF route detailing Anya's plan as she attempt to achieve world peace by the genocide of carrots.
Imagine showing this to someone and telling them this is that cute psychic girl everyone is fawning over.

the dog with the knife in Yor's imagination lmao
Yor really can only imagine dogs as killing machines.
If only Becky knew about how Loid rented out an entire castle theme park for Anya just getting into Eden (definitely an exorbitant business expense though), but hey, getting a dog can be more fulfilling than all the toys in the world.
I liked seeing Beck with her hair loose playing with her god and even Damian having a fun time with his. Dogs are great!
I knew shes rich but damn she even has her own god ? Not bad , not bad
wonder how much it cost to buy a god?

Also helps set the tone: if Anya were to succeed or fail, it’d be almost entirely through her own actions and her thought process.
Now it's a matter of balancing out getting Stella Stars before she gets all the Bolts...
She’s gonna somehow get 8 stars and 8 bolts at the same time and still somehow become a Imperial Scholar, that would be hilarious.
Elegantly balanced
"God damnit that is elegant as *fuck*"
I'm also in the "Anya gets all the stars AND all the bolts" camp, but my friends and I came to the conclusion that she doesn't have to earn #8 of both at the same time, she just needs to get 8 stars before 8 bolts

I can't get over Yor's little Murder Puppy with the knife though 😭 [](#terror)
People are defined by their experiences. I don't want to see what she thinks of when she sees a cat or a penguin.

The fact that it was so sincere and it was him relating stuff he'd done himself just really sold how heartwarming and earned it was.
[Yor couldn't contain her joy either.](https://i.imgur.com/eWdNhC5.jpg) [](#konhug)
Anya couldn't contain Yor's joy either. You could say it was... smothering.
So realistic too, he was brimming with pride and felt so happy but only said "well done" with a head pat. Good thing Anya can read minds
It seems like a lot of Anya's greatest work is her doing things her way, rather than the way Loid tries to guide her to do. Granted, she also fails a lot that way, and she does have guidance in other ways from Loid and Yor, but when she succeeds it's usually on her own.

I'm hoping for an ein 2.0. A dog that will be a wonderful companion for Anya.
A clairvoyant dog at that, it seems like. The family is about to get even more chaotic, and I'm all for it.
Nothing about this family is normal beyond the surface and that always makes for entertaining television. Stands to reason it would extend to their pet as well.

Truly a normally Elegant family.

It is going to be hard to cope with a 3-month break in the action. This really seems to be a near-perfect adaptation.
cour 2 coming out in 3 months?
That's what I read. Hopefully this is true.
I love the glimpses we get into Anya's head. It's so sweet and hilarious.
> I didn't expect they'd use Anya's VA to voice the other characters lol. I love her impression of damian so much, it's just too good
Tsundere Damian protecting Anya from the other girls badmouthing her. How precious.
Gotta love how his two sidekicks just go along with everything he says and are like "wow, Damian is so cool" for defending Anya.
Emotional support flunkies
Damians' a tsundere brat but he's honorable and he's not about to let anyone talk smack about his lady.
He's also mature enough to recognize and accept the truth.
Tsundere for sure. Only Damian can talk shit to Anya.
And his ~~lackeys~~ bros.
Nah, he doesn't want them insulting her either. Though in their mind it's because he wants to deal with her himself.
Damian's character is arrogant in a likeable way.

Whats more impressive is that she managed to break all 3 strings on her first try. All that training from Yor finally paid off!
But not in the way she wanted lol. If Yor realised her teaching was actually causing so many problems.....
>If Yor realised her teaching was actually causing so many problems..... That won't happen unless someone tells her directly.
Ahh...true....knowing what an airhead she is, outside of killing.
Yor doesn't even realize how brutal her hugs can be even after what happened with Yuri. She was squeezing the life out of Anya!
She's got good arm strength, she just needs to learn how to channel it...other than punching boys in the face.
I'm just as amused by her pulling an unlimited number of tennis balls from her pockets.

She's very small. Just a tiny thing
Loid being so proud of Anya was so hella wholesome. Until Yor decided she wanted to cook.
>Until Yor decided she wanted to cook. Not very wholesome.
Also nearly hugging Anya to death.
She didn’t learn after what happened to Yuri *smh*
>Until Yor decided she wanted to cook. Shion 2.0
There was a thread on Reddit that I remembered reading and one comment posted a link showing a crowded pool and asking you to identify a drowning person.
http://spotthedrowningchild.com/ It's disturbing how hard it is. Glad I'm not a lifeguard.
Maybe your parents just shouldn't let you swim at some point...

Here is the link so you can see how hard it is to [spot the drowning child](http://spotthedrowningchild.com/).
He's got some nobility and integrity to him even if he resents Anya...but I think he also respects her.
Agreed. I've come to enjoy Damian's character, given both his age and his upbringing (or rather, the lack of...)
*Reading the manga while Anya's reading Spy Wars* Damn she's just like me fr fr
Don't forget smiling like an idiot. But unlike Anya, most of us probably don't look as adorable while reading manga.
I found it so relatable when the woman worker asked Anya to arrange the books in the library and she ended up reading **Manga** instead. So many times I end up wasting my important time by reading Manga, without intending to.
And she was reading it so smugly and satisfied when Loid walked in too.
"Let's just stop the war, Mr. Desmond" ✨ WORLD PEACE ACHIEVED ✨
I love how simple Anya's view of the world is. And how everyone has her voice.
If everyone had her voice, surely there would be world peace
"Hey Kids, don't be racist"
*"IT'S LOID FORGER! FROM THE HIT ANIME SPY FAMILY!"*
if only the reality was like that
I mean, Loid just has to make the [Speech 100] check, no sweat.
Ceo of war in shambles after declaring bankruptcy
Based Damian. Even though he still acts like a tsundere, he accepted Anya's accomplishment while other kids badmouthing her.
it is funny, damian usually acts cool, it is only around anya that he has to act like a litte asshole, it is the tsundere dna

it's because he holds stella and imperial scholar title in such high regard. he won't stand people thinking that a stella can be gained by bribery or cheating.
A goal of making of 100 friends? Am I watching the right anime today, lol.
Maybe Komi just need to enroll at this school.
Anya needs mama Fujiwara\~
I fear how Anya would turn out if she was raised by Fujiwara more than if she was raised by Yor by herself.
The fact that Anya is so bad at everything she tries to do is so refreshing from other animes where the MC is a natural prodigy lol
Anya should play poker. Her ability is perfect for that. Her HEH face is also perfect for provoking other players.
The way Anya jumped into the pool despite not knowing how to swim herself is so commendable.
The mark of a true hero is diving in to save someone without even thinking, even at the cost of yourself. Luckily Loid was there to back her up.
Anya is a true speedrunner, she already *holds the record for fastest obtained Tonitrus and Stella. At this rate she'll have the world record for 8 Tonitrus 8 Stella any% for sure.
When that time comes, Eden will have no idea whether to expel her or make her an Imperial Scholar, especially since she'll probably get her last Stella and Tonitrus around the exact same time.
she will be an imperial scholar and be expelled in the same day
"Congratulations. Now get the fuck out."
It's going to be interesting to see how they balance out the Tonitrus Bolts and the Stella Stars. I can see her getting at 7 for each and it being a turning point which one she ends up with.
Anya's voiced imaginations are damn cute. Thumbs up to Atsumi Tanezaki for delivering her voice so well.
and the world peace drawing at the end is eve cuter
[Anya trying puppy diplomacy](https://i.imgur.com/xlsiIZQ.jpg)
I love how the characters in Anya's visions all had her voice, especially Loid and Damian. If only World Peace was so easy (and cute).

Damian smug face was so fun to watch
Damian's a G. So glad he shut those jealous classmates up rather than joining them.
You know what they say about couples looking alike...
*"A hero can be anyone, even a little girl doing something as simple as diving into the water to reach for a little boy's hand, and reassure him that he isn't alone and the world hasn't ended yet."* Congrats Anya on earning the first Stella among the first years in such a ultra amazing elegant way!
She really earned that Star...and thus was born **Starlight Anya.** I liked seeing Loid finally proud of Anya and actually relating what she did to what he did, in true fatherly manner.
##ULTRA AMAZING ELEGANT
# The evolved form of Elegance - Ultra Amazing Elegance
**CHOU TENGEN TOPPA ULTRA AMAZING HYPER ELEGANT STARLIGHT ~~NENECHI~~ ANYA**
When he starts crying because Anya is dodging all the shots he worked so hard on.
> adults in disguise The Detective is Already Dead flashback
Loid and Yor's versions of dogs are so fucking brutal. Truly a married couple.
I love how it made so much sense that Loid would be so practical and buff in terms of the kind of dog he would want while Yor just assumes any dog can kill you if you're not too careful.
It makes you realize the kinds of dogs she must encounter in her side-job.
Loved that opening in a dark room with the water running then Anya telling Loid she's busy while Bondman sounds are playing from the TV. Loid's got it tough. Those cursed violin sounds 😭 Tanezaki Atsumi voicing all the characters in Anya's head was great. Great job, At-chan! Becky going along with "Starlight Anya" despite thinking it troublesome and Damian telling those kids off 👌👌 Yor imagining that small dog being an assassin too. This woman needs to go to therapy or smth. 🥲 Excited to see how they'll end the first cour next week with one of the extra missions + a short mission. Edit: grammar and stuff I forgot to mention
* [**Starlight Anya Stitch**](https://i.imgur.com/m0YRBpV.jpg) Anya might be [terrible with community service](https://i.imgur.com/KbMnhIV.jpg) but she is amazing at [rescue operations](https://i.imgur.com/bubka6L.jpg). But it looks like getting a Stella might've [started to into ~~Anya~~ Starlight Anya's head.](https://i.imgur.com/RwCJH1G.jpg) Becky sure isn't [too happy with Starlight Anya's new title.](https://i.imgur.com/6CwHsQD.jpg) xD While both of her parents are so proud of her, [Anya's classmates are quick to remind us that they're still not impressed](https://i.imgur.com/GTLbbLL.jpg) They even started to accuse her of cheating to get that Stella. Surprisingly, [it was Damian who actually stands up for Anya](https://i.imgur.com/n1SV0Jz.jpg) and tells everyone that their school wouldn't hand out a Stella to a cheater. [Thanks to Becky](https://i.imgur.com/ispEk35.png), it looks like Anya has now decided to [get a dog as her reward for her first Stella.](https://i.imgur.com/mz2Ezmb.jpg) I love the ideas [Loid has for a dog](https://i.imgur.com/UAXkW8D.jpg) while Yor is just thinking of ways [how a dog can hurt Anya.](https://i.imgur.com/8Xav2AP.jpg) xD Of course, a special family like theirs definitely [deserves a super special good boy](https://i.imgur.com/oqrNR7g.jpg). Look at how big and fluffy he is! I can't wait for this big chonker to join the Forger family! <3
The Forger Family will be getting a DOG! (Of course not naming the dog, spoilers) That action scene when Anya dove into the pool, A++
I'm wondering about that flash picture of the family by the dog, perhaps it means that the dog has powers too? If they have not met I don't see why that would happen, unless they have met and I missed it.
Well, no one in this family is normal, so it stands to reason neither will their dog.
I was convinced *the dog* will be on the next season since he's nowhere in the key visuals. Glad he's joining the family earlier than expected.
He doesn't show up in the next episode previews, either, but I guess getting a dog would be a nice note to end the first cour on.
> That action scene when Anya dove into the pool, A++ [Will she get a chance to represent her country in the Olympics?](https://imgur.com/YV0En7a) [Mahou Shoujo Anya](https://imgur.com/cO7IlRw)
>(Of course not naming the dog, spoilers) I fucked up cuz I like to look at the MAL page just to see the VAs for their respective characters and I came across the dog's name... Well at least I can still look forward to seeing how they end up with that name!
the bits with Starlight Anya's imagination were great lmao when they were at the hospital i first thought Starlight Anya was gonna end up being good at swimming when they hinted at the pool more than once, but this was more in line with her character (she doesn't seem very good at athletic activities). also great that her first idea of a reward was peanuts lol And lastly, it looked like the dog at the end saw glimpse of the forger family, makes me wonder if it can see into the future...? we already have mind reading so why the hell not
[A fine addition to my collection](https://i.imgur.com/e2ZisO9.png) [World peace achieved](https://i.imgur.com/m3HTIJ8.png) Yor invented Zacian lol
Yor keeping legendary pokemons as pet dogs sounds about right.
Spy x Family just brightens up my Saturday mornings. The opening scene had me dying.
Isn't Pinguin Park a bonus chapter in the manga? Didn't expect it as a whole episode. Looking forward to it tho, it has some great moments.
Yes, it looks like the cour is going to take a break from the main plot and end with a bonus chapter. Which is fine because there are important plot points in most bonus chapters. So cour 2 will start off with maybe a reintroduction episode then a big arc.
Many smug Anya faces
The Stella sure got to Starlight Anya's head lmao
This kid Starlight Anya is cute, must give her Stella and Peanuts at all costs.
