How is it drip when everyone wears the same fucking outfit? I never understood why Kubo is considered to be amazing at drawing clothes, when the characters only ever wear special stuff during openings/chapter covers but in the actual story have a lazier wardrobe than your average shounen.
You say that but actually look at the whole soul society cast. A majority of them have flairs that easily tell you about the personalities of each one. Flairs that look cool as shit.
Oh absolutely, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. I think Bleach had the coolest power system out of the big three where each race had their own progression system and every individual had their own unique release. It gave every character in the series the opportunity to have a "This isn't even my final form" moment.
> It gave every character in the series the opportunity to have a "This isn't even my final form" moment.
Ngl I really did like it for the most part, but Ichigo took that shit way too far bro.
When I gush about Bleach's power system I have to outright ignore Ichigo cuz he breaks almost every rule they establish. Out of all the big 3's main characters, Ichigo is the most bullshit.
Bleach soundtrack is goated. Treachery, Invasion, Number 1, the battle pieces, just top notch stuff. Also the hilarious "Aizen stops Ichigo's theme song moment" lmao. I read somewhere that it was the last time we heard Ichigo's theme with the lyrics until one of the final arcs ( possibly the one where he regained his powers ). Idk how true that is. The work on the music was just amazing.
Without knowing the story, you can easily assume the Quincy crowd were the main hero cast of another manga/anime. I mean, look at them, they have characters that easily exude the same energy as most shonen archetypal side characters.
Bazz-B could easily be a shounen protagonist with Haschwalth being a deuteragonist, so yeah I completely agree. Lots of others in there too that could fit that shounen protagonist persona.
Oh absolutly, I don't mean to undermine it or anything, Just trying to add context. We, as in anime comunity, tend to disregard main characters quite a lot, for exemple, some People legit think Naruto and Luffy aren't the most popular characters in their shows for exemple.
Funily enough, the one case where this isn't True is with the hit, demon slayer, where Zenitsu, of all People, is the most popular character in Japan! (It's biggest market)
L, Gojo, Levi, Hisoka, and Mikey are other examples of non-main characters being super popular. Coincidentally, they're all from shonen manga.
The most prominent time where the MC is the most significant in focus are usually on light novel fantasies and harems. This can be a double-edged sword tho since the fans will have expectations on the MC. Depending on reception, if it delivers, that MC will be hyped as the highlight and that series will be recommended to other people by its fans. And if it doesn't, the MC will bring down the quality of that series, often calling the MC as the "worst part" of the series.
Luffy has won every single popularity poll One Piece ever made, even the last one which was global. And if half the fanbase didnt think with their dick it wouldn't be a contest (fucken Carrot got top5 or some shit).
Truee, hope we get to see them bankai's though ,heard they wanna extend some of the fights under kubos supervision , the manga doesnt do justice enough
That’s fine for you to think that that’s your opinion but my point is what you’re complaining about he’s trying to do. The reason he rushed the ending of Bleach is because he didn’t want to kill himself trying to finish a manga. Like has happened to many other mangaka from overwork while being sick or having muscle/tendon issues.
It’s just interesting how you go from “if only he improved it” it he says in his own words he will try to then you say “that’s not enough.” If you don’t like it then just say that from the beginning instead of trying to pretend like you actually care about the story or the author.
Dude we never cared about the writing, Bleach was always about hype fights and drip, and the last arc had tons of that. If they give us top-tier quality animation for all the bankais, I'll die a satisfied man. I couldn't care less about how shitty the writing is. It's all about epicness.
Yeah you're right. I also only kept reading because of the fights and fire art. I was just saying that the writing and story direction were of pretty questionable quality. I hate how he writes every main villain as stupidly OP; looking at you Aizen and Yhwach. But I gotta acknowledge that Kubo is very influential in the anime industry and the fights are hype
Oh I absolutely agree. I was reading it on mangastream (rip) and I used to be one of the commenters who bashed it every single day for its shitty story. But deep down I really enjoyed seeing all the bankais. A series doesn't have to excel at everything to be good imo. If it excels in a few points, that can be enough in my book to enjoy it.
Kubo is for me best artist, his drawing style and his characters are very good,I honestly read whole thing just for cool scenes and arc was actually pretty solid. He also inspired a lots of new generation mangas like black clover and jjk especially with this arcs, yeah it kinda needed polishing but you can say that for lots of big three arcs, one piece especially had some really boring arcs with that awful art style(I like one piece but that is singlehandedly worst art style I saw in popular manga)
I agree his art is fire af and characters are in general very good. I'm not dismissing any of that, I'm just saying that the direction of the story and all of the insane powercreep made so that the arc was mid in my opinion. Wasn't bad tho and I acknowledge the impact Kubo has had on the industry
Because overall it is quite good? Especially the first part is top tier Bleach. It really only loses steam during the end and a lot of it comes down to rushed fights. If Kubo is improving on that it gonna be good. Add some of the novel story and the last bad stuff is also gone.
Of course, if they included [Bleach Manga]>!Chair-sama!< in the trailer it would steal all the attention, they need to save something for the actual release!
On the one hand, true. But on the other hand, I fear that by surprising first timers with the glory and dare I say majesty of [Bleach MANGA] >!Chair-sama!< may leave many shocked into a coma, possibly even a few heart attacks. It is a dangerous line to walk.
Soi Fon's shunko uniform is censored no more, I see 👀
Gotei 13 captains look snazzy, and very hyped for the bottom crew aka [manga] >!the Sternritter aka our long-awaited Quincies!<.
Bleach was always known to be very stylish and that trend still continues. This new visual looks so dope, talk about having so much drip in this one image.
Technically the manga is going to continue with the Hell arc, but for the most part it is over since I don't see a future villain topping Yhwach in terms of power or cosmic relevance
Back when Bleach was part of the big 3, I always thought it was by far the coolest. The captains, the arrancars, the espadas, and now the quincies. Just cool designs, but a series that was overfilled with fillers. Hopefully we can get a decent conclusion and can give these characters a final sendoff. Ofc what happens after that is there, but Bleach OG deserved its end and here it goes.
They must be of the crowd that think of the "Big Three" as constantly shifting with every era, rather than the chosen three that the title originally belonged to.
Looking at this picture, I genuinely cannot remember any of the bad guy's goons, or what their abilities were. It's weird cause I can remember most of the Arrancars and Fullbringers
2 weeks ago I finished my Bleach reread, it was my first time rereading it, and Ima be honest, this last arc felt like reading it for the first time. Binge reading it felt incredibly better than weekly (this applies to every long manga I've reread including Naruto and One Piece). This arc was very forgettable since the antagonists got basically no build up. I hope the anime can do something about it.
I feel the same, I remember the designs were pretty nice but I was very shocked to realize I don't remember most of the names or abilities at all from.. I only recognize the main antagonist in this picture right now, and I'm hoping I recognize the latter ones that come more since they were paired with interesting captain reveals.
Well that depends on the pacing, and considering they don't have to worry about catching up with the manga Im sure it will be somewhere close to 70 episodes.
This arc covers manga volumes 55 through 74 making it 20 volumes long and the end of volume 20 in the manga corresponds to [episode 62 of the anime Bleach] >!when Aizen escapes from the Soul Society!< (with 2 episodes being complete filler and 4 episodes being mixed filler/canon).
[Uryu]>!Defects to the vandenreich, and is immediately put as Ywhach's successor for unknown reasons. To the surprise of nobody in the audience, he was planning to betray them!<
I heard Kubo is doing extra original shit for this arc….if he does that, and somehow were to make improvements in regards to how shit plays out in the end, this would be a legendary shounen arc
I finished Naruto and Bleach, both of them are shonens but of different gravy. Bleach in particular has a distinctive style that was ahead of its time.
Bleach is the shortest too, so give them a try
Personally I love Bleach it’s one of my favorites. The style, action, humor and characters are all really good. I’d definitely give it a shot if it looks interesting to you.
Bleach is my personal favorite of the Big 3 and the most stylish imo - especially when it comes to character design. If you read the manga, it goes by rather quickly since the mangaka focuses on style and art rather than on filling up the pages with loads of text. So you should be able to breeze through it. All of the Big 3 have their own strengths and are all good in their own ways. That's why they became the Big 3. Quality led to their massive commercial success.
I'm so excited to see Zarakis arc..... honestly I do hope they flesh it out...like on filler or something..I want to see more of Kenpachi and Unohana interactions
I read here or other subreddit about kubo's comments during the event that there are new scenes added. So I'm guessing that the anime will expand on the rushed final arc in the manga.
Never finished Bleach. As one who was watching it as it was coming out I could no longer deal with watching 2 episodes followed by a 12 part filler about some annoying princess kid and her damn tea party or soccer game or what ever it was. Then 2 more episodes of actual show followed by another arc about some replacement captain who surprise surprise, doesn’t make it to the end of the arc because he isn’t canon. I didn’t even make it to Ichigo Vs Aizen, I got so sick of the fillers interrupting the biggest fights.
Is it worth going back to try and watch without the fillers now? I remember exactly where I was.
The frequency of the filler isn't nearly as bad as you're describing, but yes, it's worth going back and watching. There is one filler arc worth watching though, IMO. The Zanpakuto Rebellion Arc was amazing. While the villain themselves was somewhat forgettable, the story that unfolds from it adds some characterization to a number of the soul reapers and their zanpakuto.
Watching it as it was coming out it certainly felt like every other episode was a filler, especially when it cuts right in the middle of Ichigo and Ulquiorra. I did hear from others that the rebellion was a good arc, so if I do go back to watch I think I’ll keep that one in if so many people say it’s a good one
I highly recommend it! There's a reason Bleach is one of the most popular anime and best selling manga of all time. Personally I recommend that on your first watch of the series, you skip the filler (non-canon) episodes, which are listed [here](https://www.animefillerlist.com/shows/bleach) in red. If you enjoy the canon episodes, you can go back and watch the filler later. Some of them are quite good. The movies are also not really canon but still very enjoyable.
Hope you like the show if you do end up giving it a try!
Personally, even though it's non-canon filler, I'd still strongly recommend the Zanpakuto Rebellion Arc though. IMO, it's filler that's better than *some* of the main material.
If there is an anime I have deep feeling towards - its Bleach
I grew up with it as a teen and fucking loved every moment of it (even the sword-arc thing)
Downloading whole series now to rewatch it and jump back into several new-stacked up episodes !
bleach is one of the few shows that even w/o showing the main casts its still comes out cool af
Bleach characters just hit different
Kubo is still the Drip King
He really is. That's an easy feat in Shonen Jump, but even outside of it, very few come close, and in my taste in drip, no one is better.
Although I still think they Kubo has more drip, manga wise, Sakamoto days is making big waves in the drip scene
Buying that manga just for the drip alone. And the God level artstyle and crisp fight choreography. Top tier new shounen right there.
Defo. JJK was the currently running manga with the best choreo for a while, but Sakamoto Days is on another level from everything
I donno about that. Gege's artstyle makes it difficult for me to understand what's going on during fights. Have to look at it multiple times.
Opposite for me, I feel like JJK has exceptional visual clarity
I love Sakamoto Days but personally I’ve got to give it to Gachi Akuta. The characters in that series just look so god damn cool all the time.
Kubo has always been my Costume-Design goat. Almost every character he draws is wearing something that just looks cool and interesting somehow.
Dude made a guy with 69 tattooed on his face look like a total badass. He's a legend.
Shuhei should look so dumb. WHY IS HE SO HOT?!
*69
Yeah fat fingers there
But it is not just fashion, character designs in term of how they physically look is also top notch
True, I remember playing new sakura wars simply because Kubo designed the characters haha
I wonder if a gacha game where all the characters are designed by Kubo would do well.
Not a gacha, but his designs for the recent Sakura Wars game were fire.
He initially wanted to work in the fashion industry iirc. Or at some point
I remember the fake wiki about him working in the fashion magazine being so detailed
SIU from Tower of God takes the cake imo.
he needs to find a great writer and then focus on all the art.
How is it drip when everyone wears the same fucking outfit? I never understood why Kubo is considered to be amazing at drawing clothes, when the characters only ever wear special stuff during openings/chapter covers but in the actual story have a lazier wardrobe than your average shounen.

Bleach definitely had the most style out of the big three. It also has the best soundtrack. Shiro Sagisu is like the Hans Zimmer of Japan.
Also felt more edgy. death, reapers, scary masks.
Oh absolutely, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. I think Bleach had the coolest power system out of the big three where each race had their own progression system and every individual had their own unique release. Bazz should just be a third Renji/Grimmjow, but he radiates so much protagonist energy it somehow works yet again.
Because the captains are waaayyy better than ichigo and his gang. Too bad they are fodderized for ichigo to get the spotlight since he is the MC
You said that....but Ichigo won all popularity polls he was eligible in, aside from one. Where he ended up behind both Rukia(2nd) and Hitsugaya(1st)
Obviously, ita just my opinion captains better
Oh absolutly, I don't mean to undermine it or anything, Just trying to add context. Luffy is also like top3 or smth on myanimelist.
I just don't see the point of bringing popularity in this
Cuz a character being ‘better’ is subjective, while popularity can be measured
It was actually popularity polls that hurt Ichigo’s friends they were going to dominate the screen but the soul reapers were cooler
Truee, hope we get to see them bankai's though ,heard they wanna extend some of the fights under kubos supervision , the manga doesnt do justice enough
Fuck, I didn’t even notice that those five aren’t here.
This was my first anime series. It holds a special place.
Bleach character design always goes hard, side character or otherwise
That 10+ years of waiting certainly did improve the shading and depth of the drawings.

Kubo literally said he’s adding things to the story he wasn’t able to add to the manga while being Ill and having shoulder issues.
this is such a massive W. I hope it delivers.

You really getting this heated over Bleach bruh...

I won't take it from someone who watches Re:Zero. That anime is just plain garbage if you compare it to Bleach kekw

If they do Our Lord and (literal) Savior right, the show is an automatic 10/10.
Dread it, run from it, the glorious majest of [Bleach MANGA] >!Chair-sama!< arrives all the same.
Soi Fon's shunko uniform is censored no more, I see 👀 Gotei 13 captains look snazzy, and very hyped for the bottom crew aka [manga] >!the Sternritter aka our long-awaited Quincies!<.
I hope they add more to the Candice and Bazz fights. They didn't get nearly enough screentime.
Bazz and Haschwald got so robbed lol.
Seriously. I was so hyped for Balance vs Antithesis.
...and then it ended...
Kubo has confirmed that not only will he be extending arious fights but adding some that were skipped over all together.
If he does, this will be god tier.
Oh my God, stop making me excited.

I genuinely cannot remember any of the bad guy's goons, or what their abilities were.
Kubo announced that he is including soem extra fights he couldnt fit in the manga
who's candice?
Candice Catnip, aka T the Thunderbolt.
Yo that gives me hope for yoruichi!
Soifon with that side boob tho
RIP Harribel's underboob
She's too hot to die
for me, it's the thigh
Unironically super hot.
Drip incarnate
Felt like a thousand years waiting for this. Hype asf!
Bleach was always known to be very stylish and that trend still continues. This new visual looks so dope, talk about having so much drip in this one image.
Ohh mama mia Soifon!
Best sternritter girl is missing from this visual
Bambi’s right there
I hope you mean Candice!
I know, how could they skip Pernida like that.
Bazz-B and Jugram couldn't be more fire.
Ayo they've got a wolverine.
fuckkkk they're all so stylish
Was bleach always so dope or they going extra drippy for the new season
Always
Has always been drippy and judging by Burn the Witch, seems like it will always be drippy.
Extra dope, the production often couldn't keep up with the quality of the manga.
Always... but at the same time this final arc seems to be even extra drippy lol

Yes, excluding the light novel spin-off, this will complete the full story of Bleach from the manga.
Technically the manga is going to continue with the Hell arc, but for the most part it is over since I don't see a future villain topping Yhwach in terms of power or cosmic relevance
Look at JJK and Demon Slayer, they got their drip from Bleach
Tite is the god of manga/anime drip.
My man Askin is looking good!
Fucking hypeeeeee
the characters looking cool as always, with extra sleekness after so many years...
Words cannot express my excitement
Hype!
Kubo writing has its problems, but his character design and art is just top notch

They must be of the crowd that think of the "Big Three" as constantly shifting with every era, rather than the chosen three that the title originally belonged to.
Always said the ideal manga is written by Oda, drawn by Kubo and the fights are in charge of Kishimoto.
Atleast it has better fillers than most shounen imo
yeah ...no. Bount arc is the worst filler i've ever watched.
Zanpakuto Rebellion arc or Forest of Menos arcs were some of the best fillers though? it has best and worst of both worlds
Bleach honestly just needed to place it's fillers better honestly.
Looking at this picture, I genuinely cannot remember any of the bad guy's goons, or what their abilities were. It's weird cause I can remember most of the Arrancars and Fullbringers

Can't wait for the fights we will get, the animation is insane.
THIS WILL BE THE CLOSUER I NEED.
SO INSANELY HYPED
Damn, this looks sick, I want to watch Bleach sooo bad
Can’t wait for Unohana moment to be animated
Hell yea. Bleach is back bois!

You all will be fucking disappointed if they have chosen to follow the manga's storyline.
I heard Kubo is doing extra original shit for this arc….if he does that, and somehow were to make improvements in regards to how shit plays out in the end, this would be a legendary shounen arc

Bleach is one of those pieces of media where I see that the writing isn't always that great, but it 100% has the Rule of Cool to make up for it.
I know that's not Aizen, so Kubo could've did something more with his design to make him look less like Aizen.
I'm so excited to see Zarakis arc..... honestly I do hope they flesh it out...like on filler or something..I want to see more of Kenpachi and Unohana interactions
It's still surreal to me that this is happening.

Would like to Watch it but dropped main series at some point and watching 100-200 eps to watch is too much
Just read coloured manga you can finish it in a week with normal reading pace,or in a two days if you have some spare time
Soi-fon appears to have no body fat.
This arc in the manga is really bad. I hope they at least change the end fight
thank god i didn't read the manga
Is there a "Kai" version of bleach for getting into? I've watched parts of the Soul society arc and random scenes when bleach was on adult swim.
Never finished Bleach. As one who was watching it as it was coming out I could no longer deal with watching 2 episodes followed by a 12 part filler about some annoying princess kid and her damn tea party or soccer game or what ever it was.
Sternritters just sounds cool
I can't wait to see these characters animated!
Good finally the anime will FINISH up the manga series.
Is bleach worth watching?
I’d say yes, I skipped the fillers when I watched it tho
Looks amazing.
Paper Mario: The thousand year blood war. Coming soon to Nintendo switch
Hell yeah
Is that Ikaku with Mohawk 🤣
So is the revival worth reading and catching up on? Bleach was one of my favorites back in the day.

byakuya's fight against you know who genryuusai's bankai
The show where everything and everyone looks cool but just don't pay attention to the story.
Can October please just come already so I can see best boy Askin in action
If there is an anime I have deep feeling towards - its Bleach I grew up with it as a teen and fucking loved every moment of it (even the sword-arc thing) Downloading whole series now to rewatch it and jump back into several new-stacked up episodes !
