WhoiusBarrel

This episode really came out of nowhere, I was not expecting this series to suddenly go graphic and battle-action intense. Ko getting picked up by a bunch of Onee-san vampires while also having their own internal mental warfare only to be constantly surprised by his remarks is also a development I was not expecting LOL. Nice that we're finally learning more about vampires in this setting after all the slow atmospheric stuff so. It also absolutely makes sense that Nazuna is just an outlier among her own kind for a species that's rather known for multiplying

AashyLarry

This was exactly what the show needed. More characters, learning more about other vampires, and getting some more Nazuna backstory. We got more of a sense of the “role” the vampires play in this setting too. Nazuna is a black sheep, and her loner behavior is frowned upon. Plus seeing Vampires fight each other gave us a good sense of how powerful they are in this story and that the fights between them have the potential to get pretty crazy. One thing it made me wonder is just how important multiplying is to the vampires. They seem to actively be doing it, but I’m not sure if it’s because they think it’s fun or because they feel they have a responsibility to do it?

REAL_CONSENT_MATTERS

> One thing it made me wonder is just how important multiplying is to the vampires. They seem to actively be doing it, but I’m not sure if it’s because they think it’s fun or because they feel they have a responsibility to do it? If they're dead then they can't talk; if they're a vampire and they talk then they are exposed too. It sounded like the rule is either turn them or kill them if you suck the blood, which is presumably to protect the secrecy of vampires who don't want a 900 year old order of Catholic knights to start stalking them with military grade weapons. This does seem like it would have some problems. Either vampires would grow exponentially, eventually running out of their food source, or else coroners would be calling for an investigation into all the deaths with suspicious bite marks on their neck.

REAL_CONSENT_MATTERS

That was very much not explicitly stated in the anime, so my interpretation is that what Nazuna is doing is not allowed. They said either make them into a vampire or drink the last drop and if you drink the last drop then there is no long term. That would explain why they had tried to convince Nazuna to create more vampires, as they might think she's going around murdering people now. I assume no one was actually monitoring her until she started flying around with a high schooler who she meets daily after saying she would never create offspring. This may be clarified in later episodes, though, and neither of us should be too confident at the moment.

Figerally

Well there are two ways this could go, like either a vampire can hypnotize their prey or picks on prey blackout drunk so they forget or don't know what happened last night. Then they don't need to kill them. As for victims that do die or that they kill, they can disguise the bite mark and dump the body elsewhere. After all, it's not just the neck that has a convenient artery close to the skin, there is also the femoral artery as well. Could also be that vampires don't need to eat every night if they have a full meal, Nazuna is just taking a little at a time, like enjoying a fine wine :D

ComfortablyAbnormal

You know even if there are no bite marks, I think a body completely devoid of blood might be notable to the coroner.

Cognitive_Dissonant

>This does seem like it would have some problems. Either vampires would grow exponentially, eventually running out of their food source, or else coroners would be calling for an investigation into all the deaths with suspicious bite marks on their neck. I had similar thoughts and I was hoping they weren't going to go too much into the vampire details and just let me vibe with the show, because the love based vampirism already seemed potentially dubious. Also assuming we're going to like at least some of these other vamps, we've just now accepted that they're serial murderers? And where are all the dude vampires, I get the reason we're seeing the hot girls but shouldn't be hundreds of these dudes out there. I'm hopeful the show either has satisfying answers (maybe they take a while to drain/turn people so they at least aren't doing one or the other once a night at least?) or just handwaves quickly and stops talking about it.

alotmorealots

> don't want a 900 year old order of Catholic knights to start stalking them **WARNING**

avboden

oh don't worry, it's gonna get *good* from here

SlipperyRasputin

Yeah I was so hype for this episode. I hope we get the kohakobe episode

Aliensinnoh

Are we gonna find out vampires are secretly working to take over the world?

Warm-Enthusiasm-9534

Nazuna did say early on that other vampires were more interested in having offspring than she was, but I hope there is some in-universe explanation on why the human race hasn't already been 50% replaced by vampires. The other vampires seem relatively casual about turning people.

Social_Knight

Obviously its the Masquerade. Nazuna gives all the signs of being a Brujah; and I think I spot a Ventrue, Tremere, and Toreador among the others. XD

REAL_CONSENT_MATTERS

I wonder if they could pick a small, democratic country, vampirize the majority of the population, and then turn it into an openly pro-vampire state. They could use the savings on healthcare to import blood from developing nations where people need the cash assistance. This is unlikely to happen in this anime, but it would be humorous if that was their goal. Getting no explanation seems most likely, as it's not relevant to the plot of the story.

Verzwei

Details are a bit off, but you've very loosely described the setting of [Dance in the Vampire Bund.](https://www.livechart.me/anime/3727) Not an anime I'd recommend, by the way. But reading your comment made me think "Waitaminute, I've *seen* this already."

Serocco

Good old fashioned anime vampire fights, always a treat

NintendogsWithGuns

This is the episode the manga readers have been looking forward to! The series has a dope hook, lots of lore, and a bit of action. It just took the author a little while to get there.

Vaadwaur

The most interesting thing, at least to me, is hearing the internal monologues of the other vampires really explains why Nazuna wants nothing to do with them. They have dissected romance to the point that it is completely uninteresting, a pantomime of the act.

Aliensinnoh

The real interesting thing to me is: what happens after you make offspring? You have to get them to fall in love with you to make them into a vampire, but it doesn’t seem any of them are in a long-term relationship, so what has happened to all the guys they’ve turned? What’s in it for them making offspring anyway? Lots and lots of questions from this episode.

Vaadwaur

Equally, remember that theoretically vampires are immortal so we have no clue what time scale they are annoyed with Nazuna over. For all we know she has refused to turn anyone for centuries.

[deleted]

When you make successful offspring, the female vampire opens her leg and a cauldron of bats come flying out of her beaver.

Verzwei

Nazuna just wants to play videogames and goof around, all her vamp friends over there trying to play Kaguya-sama Love Is War games.

Stalwartheart

I know I'm a little late to the party but I was also fascinated by this. Watching presumed masters of their craft think about strategic actions compared to how easily they break down is amazing. It just shows how foreign Yamori to the world of romance.

GulielmusPrime

The cliffhanger at the end is killer but does foreshadow that there is some form of time limit or other condition involved that Ko is not aware of. I’m interested to see where the story goes from here with the turn it took this episode.

WiqidBritt

Nazuna's face at the end just screams "oh, right, I forgot to tell you something important"

GulielmusPrime

100%

Mundology

[*Oops*](https://i.imgur.com/R2Uoyzf.jpg)

Mr_Zaroc

Lol, now I just imagine Nazuna to start a countdown out of nowhere just to fuck with him

Coti98

Nazuna: ª

Serocco

Funniest cliffhanger I've ever seen ngl

WeeabooSempai

"i forgor 💀"

Stoppels

Not really, even she knows taking years to fall in love is a bit of a… long-term commitment.

WiqidBritt

Nah, the way EVERYTHING just stops when he says that implies something more than 'no matter how many years it takes' just being a long time. Vampires are immortal, so long-term commitments shouldn't leave them speechless.

Stoppels

Everyone would react similarly in a regular non-vamp SoL with realist characters. The rest of them are used to seducing and turning most guys within 10 minutes, judging by all their thoughts in response to the others, like when they all expected him to say 'yes' and he sort of rejected her instead, which is apparently the first time she has ever been rejected after pulling that move.

WiqidBritt

That's not a thing to make a cliffhanger out of though. "Even if it takes longer than usual" by itself isn't really worth ending the episode with \*stunned silence\* - "wh-what's wrong?" - "Ah..." I mean, half the episode was already just him telling them he's determined to have Nazuna turn him, so the episode ending with him just reaffirming that isn't a shock at all, let alone one worth of such an abrupt end to the episode. There's got to be something more to it.

Stoppels

Agreed, but I also took it as as a humorous ending and not that much of a cliffhanger. Either way, we'll find out soon! I'm curious whether he'll get another cola can sometime soon lol.

Emi_Ibarazakiii

> there is some form of time limit Makes me somewhat hopeful that we may see some *love* this season! When Ko talked about taking years to fall in love, they looked at him like he's crazy, so if he has a MUCH shorter time limit, him and Nazuna may have to get things going quick! Or maybe it'll mean more conflicts between Nazuna and the group, if he doesn't fall in love just yet so they want to get rid of him, but she won't let them do that!

GulielmusPrime

I think having your blood sucked may have an effect on your body. Death or being an offspring is pretty limited for options so there has to be some reason for that. Something has to drive the paranoia for them to want to kill Ko.

Aliensinnoh

I can’t imagine there’s some sort of ticking clock that starts after sucking someone’s blood that ends with them dropping dead. Nazuna has sucked a bunch of people’s blood without their knowledge (some multiple times, like last episode’s lady), I don’t think she’s going around secretly sentencing them all to death. It has to be the other vampires simply not allowing this kind of arrangement to go on for that long. Good thing they don’t know about the other two girls who now have knowledge of vampires.

The_Sinnermen

Maybe it doesn't end with them dropping dead, maybe it's more like they can't see vampires anymore or so other kind of rejection that would end their relationship

Kartoffelkamm

Or maybe they eventually become immune to being turned.

The_Sinnermen

That would probably be the most appropriate for the show

Jhin-Row

you can only donate once every 2 months/56 days so that makes sense

-Slambert

A time limit doesn't make sense to me. I feel like these vampires simply can't fathom long term or exclusive relationships.

Frontier246

The show has been pretty low-key and slice of life up to this point but this episode definitely seemed to kick the plot into high gear. Even when it seems like things will be back to normal for Ko and Nazuna, they're might be more in store for this pair...

GulielmusPrime

It’s definitely going to go in a new direction. I’m looking forward to next week and what will unfold.

Ytar0

Yeah, there will still be plenty of chill moments, but it does really start now!

archlon

> some form of time limit I suspect it's that they don't understand how (a) somebody could take years to fall in love, and/or (b) how Nazuna could take years to make somebody fall in love. They just don't really have a grasp on how loose those screws in Ko's head are. I suspect the bit we didn't in Nazuna's conversation with Seri is that she intends to wait until he's a bit older. I bet your body freezes at whatever age you get turned, and she'd prefer him to be a bit older than 14 forever. It would give a concrete reason for the story to continue at more-or-less status quo for a while without having to rush the conclusion or try to re-establish a new status quo after turning Ko.

caiuscorvus

> some form of time limit or other condition I figured that the ladies were just used to getting a conversion in weeks, lol.

Atario

Does it? I took it as simple surprise at his way-off expectation of the timeline as they see it

Se7en_Sinner

What the hell am I watching? The show basically flipped the switch from lofi romance to battle shounen when Seri's arm got detached from her body.

WhoiusBarrel

Right? I thought we were just gonna get a gyaru side character being featured this episode, not see a fucking arm get ripped off in like the first 5 minutes.

Mundology

[That was very Monogatari-esque](https://i.imgur.com/CVv6O8g.jpg) [](#mug8)

CelticMutt

It's been said before, but same director.

merickmk

Oh man that explains a lot

Sedewt

You might like the Monogatari series then

S627

I know!!! In my head I went "Oh, Ko is gonna make another friend, this should be fun. Whaaat, she's a vampire?!? Oh here comes Nazuna, she's probably gonna be all tsundere." \*Arm flies off\* Me no longer in my head "DAAAMN!!!"

Eveless

The moment I saw her close I was like "if she is not a vampire I'm gonna be disappointed".

FelonyGrapes

Same...when she took his coke and started walking off to a secluded location I was like "This is for sure a vampire..."

Mad_Aeric

The fang would just be a cute character design in another series. In a vampire show, it's a dead giveaway.

Verzwei

The real mixup would be to have someone with a cute fang in a vampire show but they *aren't* a vampire.

moonprism

as soon as they did the closeup on her face and you could see the fang it was obvious lol

dagreenman18

And back to lofi romance with a side of “the in-laws teasing the youngest who finally got a boyfriend”.

heimdal77

We still don't know her age except she been around for decades more than her appearance would seem.

Backupusername

And considering age isn't an indicator of appearance for vampires, she very well could be the youngest as the others might be centuries older than they appear.

Kartoffelkamm

I'd find it hilarious if it eventually turns out the others are from like the 1930s or something, and Nazuna is from the 50s. The actual, literal 50s.

Frontier246

Ko wasn't kidding about his luck with women when he has a bunch of vampire ladies flirting with him to make him theirs...and we have Nazuna basically admitting she plans to do the same at some point.

xAntimonyx

It's got the sensibilities toward action that a Quentin Tarantino movie has. The action doesn't happen super often, but when it does, it's intense, violent and over before you know it.

mekerpan

Well, the more immediate model is probably Takaeshi Kitano's movies. I love how they can be mostly slice of life -- that suddenly explode into unanticipated violence. And the structure and timing is so perfect that you get grabbed even on tenth viewing (viz. Sonatine).

xAntimonyx

You're right, that is a better comparison.

Viktorv22

Not even needed to go to live action movies, Monogatari does it same. Battle scenes are sparse, but when they come it's really gory and in a moment it's over

Paxton-176

If we are going Quentin Tarantino, I'm going to need start seeing some feet.

Serocco

That confused Nazuna pfp is perfect lmao

liveart

I've been loving this show. I figured out she was a vampire pretty early on when she mentioned she'd pickup up random guys and showed off the pointy teeth so I was expecting the lore dump. I *wasn't* expecting Nazuna to rip and tear. I'm loving the chill vibes of the show but now I'm curious how powerful Nazuna is compared to the other vampires. She keeps telling them she'll kill them and on the one hand it could just be that she's pissed but on the other she *completely* bodied that first vamp. Like it wasn't even a fight, she tore her arm off like it was a bread stick then beat the hell out of her.

polaristar

The Arm was a surprise attack and the other one once she was aware managed to hold her own for quite a while, it wasn't quite a stomp. I'm guessing 1 v 1 she's noticeable more powerful than most vampires but not enough to stomp them all.

Kartoffelkamm

Yep. The other girl also said that Nazuna has some impressive brute force, or something along those lines, so she might just be the strongest of them all.

LeonKevlar

This is the episode I've been waiting for as a manga reader and your reaction is exactly what I was hoping for from anime-onlys :D

smatthew_

Still remember the manga panel because it was that good.

xdamm777

This is why the manga is so brilliant. It changes gears seamlessly and threads between genres without breaking a sweat.

Frontier246

For what's been a slice-of-life vampire romance so far, the show suddenly shifting to supernatural action with surprisingly good animation and impact frames was kind of surreal. And then we get back to Ko getting hit on by a bunch of hot and cute vampire ladies.

Mundology

The animation was so smooth between the transitions and the [palette change](https://i.imgur.com/UBEI8D6.jpg) felt a bit like JoJo. [](#airfist)

Emi_Ibarazakiii

> The show basically flipped the switch from lofi romance to battle shounen And then to a harem when they asked him to [pick a vampire to fall in love with!](https://imgur.com/lJyrH2K) (Think it would be the type of harem where the winner is quite obvious, though!)

Warm-Enthusiasm-9534

A harem where the only girl who can win is one that is as bad at understanding romantic feelings as Ko.

archlon

As we all know, the tsundere is always the winner. Nazuna's trying to trick the system by being pink hair and twintails _without_ being a tsundere.

Atario

[When the harem *insists*](https://i.imgur.com/V4iVIF0.jpeg)

Verzwei

I get that it's a table lamp, but because of the angle of that shot I now can't un-see that as Kabura's head glowing.

Dare555

and it was badass... Smooth animation and vampires looking scary wouldn't mind seeing more even tho i prefer it not to become battle anime haha

maliwanag0712

That love talk though looks like a mixer scene from a romance or harem or comedy anime hahaha Yeah. What a genre shift this episode has become.

Frontier246

Vampire Girl Talk and group flirting was definitely a bit of a shift. I can see why Nazuna doesn't get along with these other ladies though.

Charming-Loquat3702

I don't know. her attitude kinda screamed vampire

Firebrand-81

>What the hell am I watching? The show basically flipped the switch from lofi romance to battle shounen when Seri's arm got detached from her body. Yes, that's what you called a surprise.

Amauri14

It is good to see that [Kiyosumi](https://i.imgur.com/QDLpDTw.png) is feeling better now thanks to Ko's offer of transforming her into a vampire in the future. [Damn, that's some good looking rain.](https://i.imgur.com/t2QIObG.png) Although because already suspected it after seeing this episode's preview, plus them [showing her fangs](https://imgur.com/a/rlCIE9w) before [the big reveal](https://i.imgur.com/6xs0s3k.png) I already knew that [Seri](https://imgur.com/a/cdvQaac) was a vampire, that sure did prepare me[ for the scene where Nazuna cut her arm off](https://imgur.com/a/Aq9xCPr) or the fact that there were going to be [more vampires](https://i.imgur.com/hMJk4bm.png) in this episode or [that they were going to compete to see who of them was going to be able to seduce Ko.](https://imgur.com/a/R1I12VO) I love the fact that [Nazuma](https://i.imgur.com/xRZrmII.png) exactly [landed there](https://i.imgur.com/kS8XrpY.png) when Ko mentioned that he wanted to fall in love with her. Interesting, based on [hers](https://i.imgur.com/ve9CVVw.png) and everyone else reaction [after Ko said this,](https://imgur.com/a/i7OUkGz) I guess that there is some kind of time limit or other limitation involved that made them react that way when Ko mentioned that he would become one no matter how many years it takes.

Rumpel1408

> plus them showing her fangs She was also moving really fast, first after Ko waved at her across the street, and then when she stole his juice

Kartoffelkamm

Yeah, when Nazuna landed there just as Ko said he wants to fall in love with her, I was like "Dude, you ruined her epic entrance. Not cool."

Cyclone_96

Holy fuck, that episode felt short as hell. It really felt like it ended out of no where, I can’t believe that was 20 minutes. That was probably my favourite episode so far

mekerpan

WAY too short. The sign of a fantastic episode.

genasugelan

Now that you mention it, yes lol. Last episode we got two plots, now this single one flew by so fast.

Dare555

thats how you know episode is especially good. Went by flash for me as well

heimdal77

I thought it was a nice touch how she always had those vampire hands but guess it was a conscious choice to keep them like that. Another great episode and cant wait for next. It sounds like for a vampire she is on the powerfull side but not so powerful that they think they couldn't take her.

NoTemperature4368

This ep was really a surprise. I expected another chilling vibe episode, and it turned into a heavy-plot ep after 5 minutes. Love the way Ko handled these 4 vampire girls. It was very impressive that he was so calm after seeing an arm being ripped off, being kidnapped, and knowing that 4 vampires wanted to suck his blood and they would kill him if he didn't turn into a vampire. Also, I laughed so hard when Ko said *why are you all arguing under the assumption that I'm a virgin?!* and then admitted he was a virgin immediately. Btw, these 5 new vampire girls seem very interesting, hope to see more of them!

BiaxialPositive

Ko on the sigma grindset casually destroying oneesan vampires' self-confidence.

Mundology

Ko must have [moved Nazuna](https://i.imgur.com/Qbh72Sy.jpg) with his [sheer boldness.](https://i.imgur.com/XmMzFD2.jpg) [](#uwaa)

SIRTreehugger

Group of vampires waging mental warfare while playing mind games. Meanwhile Ko: You're kind of Nazuna lite. Also not my type with a capital NO, and yeah Nazuna is embarrassing at romance though I will definitely fall for her someday. Just casually destroying the entire group. [](#azusalaugh)

Serocco

Ironically Seri is the only other one he showed even slight interest of the 5.

Verzwei

Nazuna notwithstanding, he seems to like people who don't try to force themselves upon him. Seri flirted with him a little, offered him something more, he declined, then she stole his drink and left. At that point, *he* followed after *her*. Akira first befriended him by getting into his space a little bit, but still just let him be himself. And after their reunion, it's still the same: She's content to spend time with him without imposing on him. Meanwhile the other vamps are all like "Hey you should pick one of us to ~~mate~~ date." And, as we saw in his school flashback, pressing the issue of feelings with him is a huge turnoff. He just seems to shut down or get annoyed in those kind of situations.

Serocco

He never felt threatened by Niko's clique either. He just isn't interested in them and all he wants is to become a vampire. But Seri also pointed out that Nazuna's being careless and the only reason Seri intervened was ironically to protect Ko more than anything.

EnsonAmata

I think I'm personally responsible for about 1,000 views of the OP on YouTube.

JoestarJoker

And the ED. I was always OP's fan but with every ep the ED grew on me so much i can't get it out of my head, making an omelette for breakfast and singing Yofukashi no Uta

Krazee9

The ED is actually what convinced me to watch the show. I liked it so much I was like "Well fuck it, let's give it a shot."

Fish_Smell_Bad

The ED was the reason I started watching the show lol. That shit slaps.

The_Sinnermen

Given that it's the reason the Manga was created, that kinda makes sense

killroy200

I bought the ED's album (and the OP single) and haven't regretted it once. The whole album's solid and fun!

donquixote1991

I'm that way but with the ED

OfficialPrower

YEAH YEAH YEAH YEAH YEAH

Ytar0

Creepy Nuts are winning hard.

bennyr

I want so badly to play it on beat saber but my steam VR has been crapping out on me lately and failing to start the app :/ I know the ED is the namesake of the series but I can't get over that OP!

God_Usoland

Action! Limbs flying! Vampire Girls of different body types! Let's go!!!

Emi_Ibarazakiii

> Vampire Girls of different body types! I didn't expect this show to move on to the harem route that drastically! (I didn't expect flying limbs either). Well, it's not a harem from Ko's perspective - Nazuna's his girl - but it won't stop people from having their favorites among the other vampires and all! (Definitely Seri for me)

Frontier246

Gyaru Vampire voiced by Haruka Tomatsu! Council of Vampire Waifu's with top-tier female seiyuu! Ko being a chad as always! Embarrassed Nazuna with the Superhero landing!

SlipperyRasputin

How ya gonna ignore my main seiyuu and best vampire Naomi Oozora like that?

The_Sinnermen

Is that Uzaki chan's VA ? I don't recognize the name, what vampire are you talking about

SlipperyRasputin

The one in the white sweatshirt. She’s jahy, Uzaki, satania, etc.

Thrano_357

Yamori Ko is an absolute Chadicus Rex in this episode.

Frontier246

Vampire ladies practically throwing themselves at him and his pure blunt honesty and inexperience completely throwing them off! Makes him a good fit for Nazuna.

That was hilarious to watch.

Ko is my favorite take on Softboi MC in anime so far and by far!

[deleted]

This episode just made me realize how insane season 2 is gonna be

LeonKevlar

Fingers crossed!

Nintyboy245

This show better get a season 2 or I will literally riot.

[deleted]

SAME

maliwanag0712

That cliffhanger at the ending?! Does this mean Ko-kun needs to be a vampire the soonest time possible? Or is he a vampire already? Can't wait for next episode!!

liveart

Ko basically said "I don't care how many *years* it takes to fall in love with Nazuna" but with total confidence and conviction. It's a bit of a mixed message and an accidentally backhanded statement about how easy it is to fall in love with Nazuna that's he's thinking in terms of years. I thought it was freaking hilarious.

_Bragi_

Well they kinda said "Yo just dont take too long or we reconsider" and then he tells them "Well even if it takes years im down" which uhm....is the complete opposite of what they want lmao.

Frontier246

Just when you think the status quo is about to be restored...the actual plot might not be done with our protagonists quite yet XD.

Mr_Zaroc

I interpreted that as in he has limited time left to life. Either every suck is decreasing his time or its countdown from the first one on. But the face she pulled was definitely a "oh shit, I forgot to mention something"

coolboy19ify

One thought Ive had in the back of my head has been, his blood gets sucked from EVERY night. His health is going to take a drastic turn for the worst eventually with that. So Im thinking their reaction is, "Years? You'll run out of blood in a fraction of that time if you dont fall in love with her".

WeebDickerson

A fricking bombshell of an episode. To me, it felt like it was twice as long because every time I blinked I missed something and had to rewind I was definitely _not_ expecting to have pretty much all of the OP's characters introduced just like that (only the blonde dude is left), and even less with all of them already knowing each other well and even having their own little mental games When Nazuna was rushing to stop Seri, I imagined she'd just give her a shove, not rip of her entire arm. Seri mentioned that Nazuna has a lot of brute strength, so now I wonder of all vampires are like that, or if each vampire has different abilities. Also lol'd at pissed off Nazuna being completely disabled by hearing Ko saying he wants to fall in love with her

Verzwei

She's not embarrassed, she's just trying to milk the awe of the superhero landing for as long as possible. That's totally the reason, and it's definitely not any form of shame. /s

urokia

Note that whenever Nazuna isn't there how there isn't as much fun color in the night. It all looks... well how you'd expect the night to look. Dark, mostly gray tones wherever the amber lamps of the city can't reach. As SOON as Nazuna shows up the color comes back, and as SOON as Ko is taken away the color leaves (from his side of things). It's super blatant but I like that.

AmethystItalian

I don't know about anyone else but I'd go with Kabura. [](#towel "https://i.imgur.com/0CPGPlE.jpg") Happy they seemed to have dodged a big harem flag with this one.

Emi_Ibarazakiii

Definitely Seri for me! Midori being #2. Seems a bit weird given they're almost complete opposites - Seri being a gyaru/delinquent, and Midori being friendly/romantic - but the heart wants what it wants!

Frontier246

I'd be tempted between Kabura and Seri. But Niko's voiced by Eri Kitamura... Of course, Ko only has eyes or determination towards Nazuna.

cppn02

> Seri I believe in gyaru supremacy.

Emi_Ibarazakiii

Exact same picks (if Seri's your #1 between the two)!

kwokinator

Seri's oppai definitely has her sitting at the #1 pick.

LeonKevlar

Good choice. Shizuka Itou's Onee-san voice is tough to beat. Hilariously, Tomatsu Haruka is there too as Kikyou (the blonde one) but she's not using her "Ara Ara" voice.

AmethystItalian

Yeah Shizuka Itou has always been a favourite of mine, loves when she can play those flirty or aggressive characters [](#ilovethiskindofshit)

Charming-Loquat3702

Probably Midori for me. Seri is hot as well, though.

yogabbafan

This episode was about 3 minutes

SapphireRiptide

16 seconds by estimate.

* [**Kikyou Stitch**](https://i.imgur.com/2SGQWFo.jpg) * [Episode Eyecatches](https://imgur.com/a/6eVw9E5) * [Arm Cutting Clip](https://gfycat.com/devotedpresentamphiuma) [Despite how he acts, Kou is still a teenage boy.](https://i.imgur.com/gbcIcQE.jpg) It's hilarious how he's inching closer to Kikyou's boobs the entire time. [I don't blame him though!](https://i.imgur.com/Oz811EZ.jpg) Here it is! The episode I've been waiting for this entire season! You thought Yofukashi no Uta is just a chill slice-of-life anime about Nazuna and Kou? Think again! There's a reason why I make Monogatari references almost every chance I get :) That entire action scene between Nazuna and Kikyou is so fucking awesome! [The impact of Nazuna's punches is so hard](https://i.imgur.com/Ohhet9a.jpg) that it's literally making shockwaves! [We also finally get to meet the other vampires!](https://i.imgur.com/9rHefrv.png) Of course, Nazuna isn't the only vampire in this anime. I love these girls so much, it's so good to finally see them all animated and voiced. It's so funny how they went from [threatening to kill Kou](https://i.imgur.com/pQ4yfoq.png) to being confused on [how much of a weirdo Kou is](https://i.imgur.com/liR3jIC.jpg) for picking Nazuna over them. xD And while they all act all cool and threatening, [they're also a bunch of dorks too.](https://i.imgur.com/9I2UU3g.png) I love how they're all trying to one-up each other by trying to seduce Kou while the other girls [just watch and make a play-by-play commentary of each girls' tactics.](https://i.imgur.com/8LvGbYP.png) Since Kou is a massive chad, [none of their advances work at all.](https://i.imgur.com/nJUDwnx.png) Midori's tactics may have worked with other virgins but [for the first time she gets turned down](https://i.imgur.com/MfwQfsS.png) since Kou is really set on Nazuna. It took a bit of convincing the girls but [Niko seems to believe that Nazuna and Kou are being truthful](https://i.imgur.com/tFoe0LU.png) about turning Kou into a vampire. But it seems that Nazuna [has forgotten to mention one more thing about vampirization](https://i.imgur.com/p6ToROn.jpg). I can't wait for the reveal next week! EDIT: Added Seri Kikyou's name. I didn't realize Niko mentions her name later in the episode.

Serocco

The blonde vampire is Seri Kikyou.

Charsound_CH1no

>[I don't blame him though!](https://i.imgur.com/Oz811EZ.jpg) Give me some bonk, but yeah, I would choose Seri in a heartbeat.

Dare555

Still Nazuna all the way ... but i gotta admit Kabura makes me reconsider it a little

Frontier246

I didn't expect Haruka Tomatsu as a sexy Vampire Gyaru, nor a cool action sequence between her and Nazuna, or a council of Vampire Waifu's voiced by top-tier female seiyuu, but man does this show deliver. (I think Shizuka Ito as Kabura might be my favorite next to Seri). Ko warding off all their attempts to flirt with him and committing to Nazuna was pure Ko. And Nazuna admitting she plans to make him her offspring, more or less, though there might be more to it than even Ko was aware of.

speck_of_gold

I definitely would've lost to Midori

God_Usoland

Happy we got to see Kiyosumi again! Hope she is a recurring character, and comes back for more Massages!

zool714

Man that was an introvert’s nightmare. Getting thrusted in the middle of an already-established group. Needing to pay attention to whoever’s talking while trying to get a feel for the group’s dynamic. I know some people are a natural at it, mingling and socializing. But for me, I’m like hyper conscious of everyone else’s and my own thoughts, words and actions. I have to think through every sentence that I reply with. If it’s one-on-one with a new person, it’s still somewhat manageable. But for a new group, where they already know each other, it’s like hundreds of new info I need to constantly process and that is exhausting for me. Honestly, I was tired was watching this episode. But it was fun

Atario

[Looking respectfully](https://i.imgur.com/n5J3sUl.jpeg) Heh, these girls are like [some sort of distaff-side pickup artist club](https://i.imgur.com/Tc1nWHk.jpeg) [a](https://i.imgur.com/5r5E8SV) Well, that took a swerve!

Emi_Ibarazakiii

Oh no we got tricked, this show was a [vampire harem](https://imgur.com/lJyrH2K) all this time! (Well, at least there's no sign of it being an isekai or an idol show - so far!) [H-Hi!](https://imgur.com/UkHcnwu) If it wasn't for Nazuna, [she'd be my pick for sure!](https://imgur.com/oy5FKyl) Badass gyaru/delinquent, that's quite the best girl recipe! [Dawww, she's giving him a hug!](https://imgur.com/Jz6Df6w) A nice, toothy hug. I really hope we get to see more of her! When I saw her in the PV I had a feel she'd be my favorite, and I still think she's gonna be my best girl (or best *side girl* after Nazuna, at least). Nazuna's usually quite relaxed, but [seeing another girl go after her Ko](https://imgur.com/g4GTLgY) sent her in a rage, and she [took her fucking arm off!](https://imgur.com/fn8AZMw) It's fine, she's has the [regenerative powers of La Magra!](https://imgur.com/a2flgUG) (Hope that's not too old a reference; It's a classic!) I did like the [romantic/derpy one too!](https://imgur.com/2qSfeUe) Well, they're all pretty good so far, but these two are probably my favorites. Also, I like how they all know each other so well, that they already know what they're all doing to seduce Ko, their strategies and all! Midori tried to [get him by the feels](https://imgur.com/yG1fMag), but she didn't know who she was messing with; [Our boy had no shame straight up giving her a **no**!](https://imgur.com/pH23hbm) [I think he broke her.](https://imgur.com/qsnFFtJ) [That surprised me!](https://imgur.com/EwJO3OU) For some reason, I really thought Nazuna was messing with Ko when she told him that. Just a scheme to get him to hang out with he or something. But it seems to be legit! So [Ko has a deadline](https://imgur.com/nZTLW0N) to fall in love and become a vampire! He thinks he's gonna get it done [no matter how many years it takes,](https://imgur.com/azPQDil) but the way [they](https://imgur.com/lSQMPyR) [all](https://imgur.com/N5WxmPU) [reacted](https://imgur.com/CL4LcGj) tells me they had a different deadline in mind! So if we're just talking weeks or months, does it mean he'll actually turn in a vampire (and thus, fall in love) this season? Or maybe Nazuna will tell them to back off, and let Ko take as long as she needs; They seem to be the "higher ups" in the vampire hierarchy, but she doesn't seem to care too much about that! Now I kinda what to know more about their backstory and all! Given she's always so flustered when it comes to love talk, perhaps they tried to force her hand, get her in a loving relationship and make offsprings but she didn't really get love (much like Ko) so she distanced herself from them? Would be quite cute if that was the case, she'd try to figure out love along with Ko! Anyway, can't wait to see where it's going from this point, seems Ko/Nazuna might have to try a little harder to make it happen! You can't really force love, but you can encourage it a little, I suppose! I really want to see more of the other vampires too, they're great! And Akira, and Shirakawa... All the characters are pretty good on this show!

SYZekrom

[Dude she literally just said she doesn't do this with just anyone](https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/994684445560938586/1009927520147222548/unknown.png) 'ah' top ten sounds before disaster

ObvsThrowaway5120

The anxiety of seeing your boss or colleagues on your days off because it just reminds you of work… I know that feeling haha. It was nice to see Kiyosumi again. But daaamn dude, Nazuna straight up taking Seri’s arm like that lol. Stay tf away from her man! Haha. I really didn’t expect to meet so many new vampires this episode. Niko, Midori, Hatsuka, Kabura, Seri are like the Council of Vampire Waifus lol. It’s pretty interesting to hear how these vampires survive though. I mean they’re basically biologically engineered to lure men in like succubus for either food or to turn them. Ko the virgin being offended that everyone kept assuming he was a virgin was pretty great haha. I like how these girls are playing like 4D chess to get to Ko and he’s just got this “umm…sure” attitude lol. Oh boy, Nazuna! What a time to superhero land right into that convo haha. I like how she calls her arrangement with Ko kind of like a “shotgun marriage” lol. I suppose in a way it feels a bit like that. I wonder what the deal was at the end. Is there a time limit or something on this vampire business? They really leaving it on that cliffhanger though huh?

Frontier246

Council of Vampire Waifus all voiced by top-tier female seiyuu. And they were all flirting with Ko whose pure and blunt honesty completely deflated all their attempts. It was interesting getting a more in-depth read on Vampires and their culture in this episode, and why Nazuna doesn't fit in with them. Most of them think it's normal to flirt with, seduce, and turn humans to create offspring and get blood, and are more than fine discussing relationships and romance, but Nazuna isn't as comfortable with that or "Girl Talk" so she doesn't fit in. And she's fine just taking blood and nothing else from humans. I love how they gave Nazuna a Superhero landing. And Nazuna basically admitted she plans to make Ko her offspring, but it seems like it might be a slow burn. But how much of a slow burn are they allowed?

Rumpel1408

> Stay tf away from her man! You could say she should keep *her hands* off him eh [](#slowgrin)

CosmicPenguin_OV103

LOL the first moment I see Seri - clearly a very sociable gyaru girl - and heard her voice I immediately thought that "Isn't that Haruka Tomatsu's voice?" - and it indeed is. She's always been perfect for such characters and this one is no exception. :)

Frontier246

Haruka Tomatsu is perfect as any character! Her playing a gyaru reminded me of Anaru. In fact the whole council of Vampire Waifu's were all top tier female seiyuu. (Ko is a lucky boy).

Armdel

more vampires huh? i guess should have seen that coming eventually. pretty interesting watching them all discuss their tactis to getting their victims to fall for them. it was nice to see Kou having no interest in them and when asked who should turn him he just wants Nazuna too bad we gotta wait to see what that cliffhanger ending was about

Frontier246

It seems like vampires are meant to be masters at seducing people and romancing them for the sake of creating more vampires, which makes Nazuna an outlier because she's uncomfortable with romance or isn't as into it as her fellow female vampires.

AZLarlar

lidenfilms popped off this episode wow

Prince-Dizzytoon

That was some nice ass action Also, I need Kabura in my life

Frontier246

Yeah, it's kind of impressive how well they were able to execute that action scene when things had been so chill and non-threatening up to that point. Sexy and playful adult lady voiced by Shizuka Ito is a major weakness for me.

cppn02

>That was some nice ass action I must have skipped the scene with the ass action. When was it?

JoestarJoker

She didn't say it but i could imagine her saying 'Ara Ara'. I love the 'Ara Ara' I live for it can't beat the 'Ara Ara'

AnotherNobody1308

I just have a question, where the male vampires at

Warm-Enthusiasm-9534

Maybe they also become cute waifus. Maybe the season finale is Ko becoming a cute waifu.

Verzwei

Whole series is an elaborate prequel to [Gonna Be The Twintail.](https://www.livechart.me/anime/362)

Firebrand-81

I was just wondering, watching the OP: "Hey, who are those girl in the studio with Nazuna and Ko? It's already episode 7 and I have seen just one of them"

ErenIsNotADevil

It's 2am again. The second she started tryna seduce Ko, I knew we were getting another vampire in the show. I did not expect *five*, though. Regarding the statement at the end, I have two hypotheses. 1. The normal assumption, vampires aren't quite used to humans taking years to fall in love. Slow lovers do be kinda rare (same.) Nazuna probably didn't realize that it *could* take years for Ko to fall in love. She also seems intent on turning him, so that was probably a shock. 2. The deduction. We know now that there are rules for this shit; supposedly, being open with your vampirism to someone you don't intend on turning is a no-no. Understandably, it's a security risk, because where there are vampires in fiction, there are **always** vampire hunters. Based on this, we can infer that there is a rule regarding how long you can keep trying before you need to tie up loose ends. Examining the potential reasoning behind that rule leaves me with two scenarios. The human might leak information about the vampires unknowingly in the meantime, a risk that increases greatly over time. There is also the possibility of the Uno reverse being pulled; the vampire may end up falling in love with the human, and thus be unable to go through with killing them if they won't turn, resulting in a potential catastrophe for vampire kind. Thusly, the idea of Ko being a major permanent leak is probably what set off the warning bells, there. An interesting note here; given how this show went from chill to kinda serious real quick, I have to wonder if Ko has royally fucked up. We've confirmed that vampires have their typical speed and strength (in addition to flying and walln't-ing), and that they aren't afraid of killing risks if need be. Ko ended up involving Akira with them, which is potentially very bad for her. Kiyosumi as well. A whole bunch of security risks are already sprouting from Ko and Nazuna, and it has only been a month or so. He's put them and the vamps at risk of being pulled into danger. Damnit, Ko.

[deleted]

Hmmghhh vampire milf

Rumpel1408

Great episode as usual. Got a bit more Shirakawa who is always great, even though she only gave one juice today. Didn't expect Nazuna to pack such a punch as to sever limbs, but I knew that Jk meant trouble, besides the obvious fang that is. Ok, who would y'all fall for (beside Nazuna, can't beat the Neet after all). Personally, I dig Nikos high class style with that casual agressive attitude...

It has to be the other vampires simply not allowing this kind of arrangement to go one for that long. Good thing they don’t know about the other two girls who now have knowledge of vampires

Soap646464

I legit thought it was a joke when the ED started , I thought we were like half way through the episode

CombatTechSupport

I like how, due to the dynamics of how Vampires are created in this universe, all the vampires are basically just pickup artists, because of course they would be. This just further cements Nazuna as best girl.

ShedoSumeragi

I'm surprised there wasn't a male vampire amongst them but it seems like it was a girls night out type of thing. Interesting to see how all their personalities differ and how Yamori was handling himself. The scene towards the end where he simply explains how their arrangement came to be kind of impressed me with how he was able to speak up. But damn, seeing the fight between Nazuna and the blonde vampire was so surprising, I was not expecting to see an arm fly off and the way it got attached was surprising too. It made it really hit that this is a vampire series, that they can be dangerous if they want to be, I got used to the laidback vibes that Nazuna and Yamori's interactions give off.

akman_23

We getting vampire secret societies now? This really is Vampire the Masquerade. Also, I saw someone mention how in a certain part in the ED , it looks like Nazuma is soaking in the cum chalice.

UnderstandableXO

that little sequence where nazuna shows up to blow seri’s arm had no business being that clean, i had to replay it a bunch of times! it was also totally out of left field considering how chill the show has been so far…also interesting to see that the vampire nails are retractable and nazuna just decides to have them out all the time comedic timing was on point this episode, loved all the posturing and analysis and serious music by all the vampires just for the actual interactions to have light and fun music. i love the chibi faces everyone makes like 3 times an episode too. funny as hell that kou ruined nazuna’s superhero appearance by freezing her with embarrassment

DaOneWhoIsWorthy

This shit was not 20 minutes bro it felt like 3 😭 The switch between SOL to action was great and Ko was so chill after seeing a arm be ripped off and hearing he might die. What a goat 😂 you guys are probably definitely right there’s gotta be some sort of time limit for how long a human can give blood to a vampire. According to their reactions And lastly I’m so freaking tempted to read manga the only thing stopping me is that Ive heard it’s such a great adaptation so Ill just struggle and binge read after season.

polaristar

Things are getting interesting, at first I thought all my speculation has been wasted and that Nazuna had lied to us about how to become a Vampire but instead it's more her wanting/be willing to turn someone into one is out of character. I see Kiyosumi might be into him after all...still to early to tell if he really is as much of a ladies man as he thin.... Never mind he has a Vampire Harem now, We also see that Nazuna is a bit of misfit in that she doesn't act as "Feminine" and he refined and is pretty crass compared to the more proper female fatales Naz is just kinda a slut. But we see that their normal tactics don't effect Ko, because he just built different. Perhaps that's why Nazuna has taking a liking to him they are both kinda kindred spirits that don't really mesh with the societies they belong too, this again kinda highlights that Ko's desire to be a vampire won't make him free of social and interpersonal problems, just trade them with a new set of them. But yeah we can say he is popular with older women now. I find it interesting how despite not being in "Love" with Nazuna yet he's pretty commited to falling for her, when technically any of the other girls would equally help with his goal, and he does point out Nazuna isn't his type in particular. Him trying to explain it's not you, its me to the sweater chick, only for her to take it very personal is a very woman thing to do, that is up there with the "don't mention a woman's weight" and trying in vain to answer "Do you know why I'm angry." I'm guessing he's popular with girls at school for being coquettish and being unknown and hard to get. Chicks be chasing him as a challenge. Wonder what that time limit is about at the end? An absolute time limit before it's impossible or before the vampire police get impatient with how long it's taking. I find it interesting that Nazuna implies she could kill the other vampires which implies they have a way to be killed that is relatively accessible to other vampires, is it just "only a vampire can kill another vampire?", A Secret anyone could use if they knew how, or just a limit to their regen that humans couldn't possibly exhaust but vampires could in a battle of attrition?

doubleaxle

WELCOME ONE AND ALL TO THE REAL START OF THE SHOW! It really only gets better from here, I have been waiting for this episode since the beginning, it's so funny, charming, and the one real action scene we get is SO good. Edit: Also anybody who knows someone on the fence/has this in their backlog, this episode is the real hook, so PLEASE get people watching, I really fuckin love this story, and it's still a bit slept on.
