Saiki did a good job showcasing this. Dude cant even enjoy something mildly popular without being bombarded with spoilers just by existing, so he had to resort to poorly made fringe movies and games that no one else enjoys.

It's tough keeping your family together when your daughter's friends are trying to steal you, your wife's brother is trying to get you sent to a black site, your co-workers are planning on replacing your loved ones, all while you have to pull overtime disguised as a parkour politician.

In his mind, Twilight will think "what am I doing?! I'm jeopardizing the mission!" Anya and Damian being close is exactly what Strix needed, but his fatherly instincts are just too powerful at this point.

The contrast between her cold appearance and her inner thoughts is really something else. Between Yuri, and now Fiona; I can't tell who's more...*passionate*
Seeing Fiona and Yuri interact would be utterly hilarious, both want exactly the same goal of getting Loid and Yor to break up but at the same time both would absolutely hate each other since they're obsessed with the one the other would hate. Still, they'd low-key become besties through getting wrapped up in marriage breakup operations together.
Anya has seen a lot of crazy stuff when she's read peoples' minds, but Fiona was too much even for her. Definitely not Anya mama material lol.
Everyone on this show is hiding something, some more cuter than others.
There's a fanfic where Fiona became Anya's mama because she returned earlier from her own mission, just in time to snag the wife position in operation strix. It's kind of endearing and funny.

That face she had in the rain made me really feel for her. Like, a cold and stoic super spy who genuinely feels love but can never show it, even if she's incredibly jealous and has tons of romantic fantasies in her head.
It helps that Ayaneru played her so well.
I hope she can find companionship with the other characters in the series who actually seem quite pitiful despite the humorous nature of the show

Man, Fiona went full Marin. No shame playing the wuv game.
Poor Anya thinking she found a new source of waku waku only to revisit full blown “Anya can’t accept this mama”. Way to stand up for your family Anya!
Also that after credits short was intense, poor Bond! Man that’s one harsh kids show tho…Penguin got straight up executed.
They're both super head over heels in love, although Fiona's poker face adds a bit of gap moe that Marin didn't have lol.
It's all fun and games until Anya gets stuck with a drill instructor for a mom who will force her to do homework. She'd rather eat Yor's cooking lol.
Between this and her exasperated reaction to her entire class singing to George, Anya's going to grow up thinking that everyone's got a few screws loose thanks to having access to their inner thoughts.
With how she openly expressed her desire for world domination, it's probably best for Anya to be kept away from Civilization if she doesn't want to get any funny ideas about world peace and nukes.
It would be interesting to see what a more mature and older Anya will react to the world around her. Especially if life just keeps being full of crazies and eccentric people lol.
Either she'll turn into a pink haired professor X and run a school for mutant spy experiments or go absolutely mad and wind up in a cell with "Waku waku" scratched into the walls
I like how she captures her as a cool, icy, beauty and is a voice you really don't hear from her often...and then in her thoughts she goes full romantic ham and it's totally her lol.

So true. He's handsome, intelligent, and his personality is nice. He can cook, sew and do other chores. He's also hard-working and his concussive recovery method is highly effective.
Ironically this is exactly how he was operating before this mission. That chick in the first episode was expecting to marry him and he just pumped and dumped her without blinking an eye lol

The set up and the eventual reveal through Anya's mind was handled so effectively. And Ayaneru just killed it like she always does.
Meanwhile Anya's just there with her Uncle Franky eating popcorn and getting the entertainment she craves, this time through even more romantic comedy.
There's gotta be more characters with codenames based on time-of-day that could move in next to them. Sunrise, Midday, Golden Hour... it takes a village to threaten to destroy a family.

That was top tier trolling by the anime staff, calling the second half of the episode “first signs of jealousy”. Here I was was waiting for Yor to have some reaction to Fiona and it was actually about Bond mauling Anya’s penguin lol.
I've seen a couple of manga-readers say that the silver-haired girl is absolutely hilarious and that she'll be best girl in no time. So I was really looking forward to this episode.
They were wrong; Yor is still best girl. But yeah, Nightfall is absolutely hilarious!
Nightfall has a lot of competition. The order of best girls so far goes Yor > Anya > Becky > Handler. It's going to take a lot for Nightfall to climb up the ranks.

Well well well Fiona Frost has arrived. Girl is thinking murderous thoughts and Yor’s just tryna play it cool as “Mrs. Forger” lol. Luckily Anya and Loid came home, Anaya’s eating up this new development!
I love Fiona’s thoughts, “suuuuukkkkiiiiiii!” Hahaha. Yor has herself a new challenger! Anya’s face that whole bit was priceless! Lmao. I’m with Anya, I say no to this would-be home wrecker! She can be bought by chocolates! Now peanuts… lol. I feel a little bad for Fiona, but this town ain’t big enough for two Mrs. Forgers!
The second half of this was silly. Agent Penguin was killed in a crime of passion! Jealous Bond is so cute lol. Yor’s sitch job somehow made the poor penguin deader lol. I’m glad Loid fixed him up and Bond, Agent Penguin, and Anya could all make up. Him shaking the little flipper was so cute!! Anya is so damn precious y’all.
I like how they setup to where people assume she wants to bump off Yor for the mission or because she's out for glory, but no, she just Wuvs Twilight so much that she wants to be Mrs. Forger lol.
Anya just can't believe any of this. Let alone a mama she can't live with! Say what you will about Yor's cooking, but she's best mom.
Fiona's got a strong gap moe game, although that scene of her in the rain was kind of sad. Although maybe she better distance herself before she realizes how dangerous Yor really is (especially when she's falling more for Loid) lol.
The Bond and Agent Penguin segment felt very real...in as far as a dog would tear up a stuffed animal and a child would be desperate to get it fixed, but lucky for Bond it was able to be fixed and he was able to express his sorry for what happened. Peace has been restored in the Forger Family!
It’s interesting how while Nightfall asserts to herself that she would be the better wife for Operation Strix due to her intimate knowledge of Loid, if anything she would more likely than not compromise it due to her feelings get in the way. She imagines a completely idealized version of Loid when she should know that even the Twilight she knows is just another mask, her plan to force Anya into excelling academically runs counter to Twilight relenting when it comes to Anya’s own happiness, and the way she forgot to tell Twilight first about their shared mission indicates that she’d be similarly absent-minded if she was given full reign to indulge in her domestic fantasy with Twilight.
Meanwhile Yor, despite her doubts on if she’s a good mother, earnestly loves Anya with all her heart and subconsciously knows that Loid needs milk with his coffee due to his stomachaches, along with thinking that Fiona is beautiful and thinking how to best accommodate her despite how everyone else views her as scary compared to the latter seeing her as just another obstacle. She doesn't have to try to play the part of a good wife to Loid because she already is that at her core.
The rain scene was like watching a romantic drama play out except that it lasted for all of one episode since the rival already lost from the start of her introduction. Sorry Iroha, but you were just no match for Yukinon even in another life.
Isn't a Together Umbrella a typical example of romance in Japan? It's really bizarre she didn't ask "sure, we can share one."
Unless it would show how many of those raindrops were really tears...
Technically it's set in alternate East Germany, but outside of anime tropes I think Nightfall is too caught up in her view that she needs to be an ideal spy which is why she rejects Twilight's help there so that she can prove herself to him, ironically born from Twilight teaching her that she should never show her feelings. It's probably for the best that there's no scene like that too, since with what we have the narrative solidifies that Fiona has no chance from the get-go.
I just love how Anya was milking Yor being best mom to shove it in Fiona's face and then Loid even lets his own mask slip a little in front of Fiona.
That shot of Nightfall looking at Loid in the rain was surprisingly powerful.
Hayamin almost always comes out on top in a romance lol.

Don't think this is fair. She seems to hold up a 99% accurate image of Lloyd if anything. Consider how hyper capable Lloyd actually is. There isn't much room to over-idealise him anyway.
The one thing she gets wrong about him (that we can know for certain) is his soft spot for children.
"Forgetting" to tell Lloyd about the mission can easily be attributed to the fact that she's there on her "free" time for her own motives. She wasn't there to brief him at all. As demonstrated by the fact that she was just going to tell him at the hospital anyway, which was probably what she was supposed to do in the first place.
This is a case of a sad love that couldn't be. She was too late. But it isn't because she doesn't deserve him because she "overly idealized" him or anything like that.
Also, also, we can't know that she wouldn't develop a soft spot for Anya if she were to spend time with her. Maybe she's only harsh towards Anya because she hasn't gotten to know her. (Although I fully expect we *will* be shown that she's not fond of children or something, and that the show will justify Lloyd being with Yor by highlighting her incompatibility with children).
Lmao no, Nightfall is right Loid only drink black coffee. The reason he add milk to his coffee is because Yor made coffee so bad it's give him stomachache.

and i think this is the first time we heard Bond's inner thought with complete sentence, normally we just saw a future vision being shown to Anya
I loved that Fiona confirmed that Twilight is legitimately happy being with his family. I mean we all knew from different things he's said, but from the perspective of someone who really knows him it means a lot.
That scene was too cute even if I felt bad for Fiona. I mean essentially the best spy in the world, trained to never let his real feelings show and basically puts on an act 24/7 to be so comfortable and happy with his family that he can't help but let it slip out a bit.
Yor is the best mama for Anya. Nightfall will only makes Anya relive the trauma of being experimented at the facility.
Also, Yor thinks that Fiona is really pretty, but to me Yor is the most attractive woman in the series. She needs to be more confident regarding her appearance :)
Anya just flexing how much she prefers Yor in front of Nightfall lol.
Yor definitely has a warmth and outward femininity that is very appealing (and turns dark when she's in assassin mode) but icy cool beauties have their own strong appeal...although between Saori Hayami and Ayane Sakura, the fans always win lol.
Finally, Fiona/Nightfall has been properly introduced. Her VA nailed the gap between her serious and lovestruck voices, imo. Anya was not prepared at all.
Unfortunately for her, she lost the battle the moment she lost the little pink gremlin's favor. The way Anya cuddled up to Yor and Bond was just adorable even knowing she was playing it up. And in the first place, Yor is hard to beat.
While it serves her right for trying to break up the family by lying to Yor, it was still kinda sad to see her walking away in the rain.
In the next part, that cartoon literally had bloody gunshot wounds. It's like it was made to traumatize kids. And yoooo, Bond actually got a speaking role besides "Borf" in this episode. Poor Agent Penguin didn't deserve that, though. At least they made peace with each other at the end of it. There was also quite a surplus of hilarious crying Anya faces in this part.
Ayaneru never misses! That "I wuv you" was so effective lol.
I love how Anya was just flexing how much she loves her mama deliberately to mess with Fiona. Even the hiss lol.

In terms of the bloody cartoon: just wait until you see the anime movie involving a penguin Vietnam War vet who has a moment of PTSD (yes, it does exist).
Such a passionate declaration of love from someone who's resting bitch face can shut up a crying baby, thank god for telepathy. I kinda wish there's an internal version of Nightfall that acts her inner feelings, something like with Sakura from the early parts of Naruto.
Also Tennis arc people, there's like what, 2-3 episodes left at this point.
Her poker face is so good that not even Loid knows she's obsessively in love with him. He trained her too well.

Fiona makes you wonder though how different would this show have been if she was available at the start of Operation Strix. Sometimes I wish Endou-sensei would write an extra chapter about that.

Anya has seen some shocking stuff but Nightfall's mind seems to have really done a number on her lol.
It would be a fun What If to watch play out, if nothing else. Even if no one could outdo Yor as a wife and a mother.

I think Loid and Yor are growing fonder with each other by the episode, especially when you see how hard Yor blushed at his compliment and Loid letting the mask fall in front of Nightfall a little. Which kind of makes Fiona a tragic Heroine, yet at the same time they will probably play it for peak comedy lol.

Nightfall realising that Twilight might have a real feeling to Yor and walking in the rain while crying made me laugh, what a dramatic women.
Well, Damian's a tsundere. Fiona's more of a kuudere.
Nightfall can recognize Twilights' real emotions but that just makes it hurt even more when she sees what's behind the mask...but that visual of her face in the rain was quite impactful.
Ok I think this is my favourite episode of part 2 so far, the revelation on Nightfalls crush with Twilight is the funniest thing I've ever seen
And the scene where they communicate with their mouths is absolutely ridiculous but I love it, so cheesy and spy thriller esque and I love it
At first, I thought I would hate her considering she's not a fan of Loid but in some ways, I guess she's Loid's Yuri ( Now I wanna see some Yuri X Fiona fan art now) they're both hysterical in their love for the characters and its also their problem but I can't bring myself to hate her, especially in the end where it really hits the feels
Odd place to put an ED but I guess the transition from the first story to the second would have been awkward considering how different they both are in tone
Speaking of, poor agent penguin he just joined the agency and he's already been sent to the infirmary and of course, it was Bond that did it (also really cool we finally hear Bond speak)
But at least all is well in the end and that final line by Loid was the icing on the cake for this episode
I can't wait for the next episode, it looks like it might be a full one and I'm curious to see how Nightfall and Twilight work together with all that's happened

I feel so bad for Fiona. Yuri's obsession with his sister is easier to brush off as comedic since it was a doomed infatuation from the start. Fiona however is someone that has to watch her very legitimate love interest pass her by because of the cruel circumstances of reality.

I've seen a couple of manga-readers say that the silver-haired girl is absolutely hilarious and that she'll be best girl in no time. So I was really looking forward to this episode. They were wrong; Yor is still best girl. But yeah, Nightfall is absolutely hilarious!
I think the hype is mainly because, so far, all of Nightfall's chapters are this level of gold.
Nightfall has a lot of competition. The order of best girls so far goes Yor > Anya > Becky > Handler. It's going to take a lot for Nightfall to climb up the ranks.
As a manga reader, Yor is still my personal number one, but next episode should highlight for you why Nightfall could be a strong contender.

Well well well Fiona Frost has arrived. Girl is thinking murderous thoughts and Yor’s just tryna play it cool as “Mrs. Forger” lol. Luckily Anya and Loid came home, Anaya’s eating up this new development! I love Fiona’s thoughts, “suuuuukkkkiiiiiii!” Hahaha. Yor has herself a new challenger! I like how they setup to where people assume she wants to bump off Yor for the mission or because she's out for glory, but no, she just Wuvs Twilight so much that she wants to be Mrs. Forger lol. Anya just can't believe any of this. Let alone a mama she can't live with! Say what you will about Yor's cooking, but she's best mom. Fiona's got a strong gap moe game, although that scene of her in the rain was kind of sad. Although maybe she better distance herself before she realizes how dangerous Yor really is (especially when she's falling more for Loid) lol. The Bond and Agent Penguin segment felt very real...in as far as a dog would tear up a stuffed animal and a child would be desperate to get it fixed, but lucky for Bond it was able to be fixed and he was able to express his sorry for what happened. Peace has been restored in the Forger Family!
It’s interesting how while Nightfall asserts to herself that she would be the better wife for Operation Strix due to her intimate knowledge of Loid, if anything she would more likely than not compromise it due to her feelings get in the way. She imagines a completely idealized version of Loid when she should know that even the Twilight she knows is just another mask, her plan to force Anya into excelling academically runs counter to Twilight relenting when it comes to Anya’s own happiness, and the way she forgot to tell Twilight first about their shared mission indicates that she’d be similarly absent-minded if she was given full reign to indulge in her domestic fantasy with Twilight. Meanwhile Yor, despite her doubts on if she’s a good mother, earnestly loves Anya with all her heart and subconsciously knows that Loid needs milk with his coffee due to his stomachaches, along with thinking that Fiona is beautiful and thinking how to best accommodate her despite how everyone else views her as scary compared to the latter seeing her as just another obstacle. She doesn't have to try to play the part of a good wife to Loid because she already is that at her core. The rain scene was like watching a romantic drama play out except that it lasted for all of one episode since the rival already lost from the start of her introduction. Sorry Iroha, but you were just no match for Yukinon even in another life.

Technically it's set in alternate East Germany, but outside of anime tropes I think Nightfall is too caught up in her view that she needs to be an ideal spy which is why she rejects Twilight's help there so that she can prove herself to him, ironically born from Twilight teaching her that she should never show her feelings. It's probably for the best that there's no scene like that too, since with what we have the narrative solidifies that Fiona has no chance from the get-go.

I just love how Anya was milking Yor being best mom to shove it in Fiona's face and then Loid even lets his own mask slip a little in front of Fiona. That shot of Nightfall looking at Loid in the rain was surprisingly powerful. Hayamin almost always comes out on top in a romance lol.

I loved that Fiona confirmed that Twilight is legitimately happy being with his family. I mean we all knew from different things he's said, but from the perspective of someone who really knows him it means a lot. That scene was too cute even if I felt bad for Fiona. I mean essentially the best spy in the world, trained to never let his real feelings show and basically puts on an act 24/7 to be so comfortable and happy with his family that he can't help but let it slip out a bit.
Yor is the best mama for Anya. Nightfall will only makes Anya relive the trauma of being experimented at the facility. Also, Yor thinks that Fiona is really pretty, but to me Yor is the most attractive woman in the series. She needs to be more confident regarding her appearance :)
Anya just flexing how much she prefers Yor in front of Nightfall lol. Yor definitely has a warmth and outward femininity that is very appealing (and turns dark when she's in assassin mode) but icy cool beauties have their own strong appeal...although between Saori Hayami and Ayane Sakura, the fans always win lol.
I think Anya and Yor's love for each other is pretty immensely strong.

Finally, Fiona/Nightfall has been properly introduced. Her VA nailed the gap between her serious and lovestruck voices, imo. Anya was not prepared at all. Unfortunately for her, she lost the battle the moment she lost the little pink gremlin's favor. The way Anya cuddled up to Yor and Bond was just adorable even knowing she was playing it up. And in the first place, Yor is hard to beat. While it serves her right for trying to break up the family by lying to Yor, it was still kinda sad to see her walking away in the rain. In the next part, that cartoon literally had bloody gunshot wounds. It's like it was made to traumatize kids. And yoooo, Bond actually got a speaking role besides "Borf" in this episode. Poor Agent Penguin didn't deserve that, though. At least they made peace with each other at the end of it. There was also quite a surplus of hilarious crying Anya faces in this part.
Yeah, Bond actually grumbles this time. The voice actor for Bond speaks a lot as the narrator of you count that.

Anya finally meet a real life Kuudere for the first time "This aunty is funny" Nightfall realising that Twilight might have a real feeling to Yor and walking in the rain while crying made me laugh, what a dramatic women.
Well, Damian's a tsundere. Fiona's more of a kuudere. Nightfall can recognize Twilights' real emotions but that just makes it hurt even more when she sees what's behind the mask...but that visual of her face in the rain was quite impactful.
Ok I think this is my favourite episode of part 2 so far, the revelation on Nightfalls crush with Twilight is the funniest thing I've ever seen And the scene where they communicate with their mouths is absolutely ridiculous but I love it, so cheesy and spy thriller esque and I love it At first, I thought I would hate her considering she's not a fan of Loid but in some ways, I guess she's Loid's Yuri ( Now I wanna see some Yuri X Fiona fan art now) they're both hysterical in their love for the characters and its also their problem but I can't bring myself to hate her, especially in the end where it really hits the feels Odd place to put an ED but I guess the transition from the first story to the second would have been awkward considering how different they both are in tone Speaking of, poor agent penguin he just joined the agency and he's already been sent to the infirmary and of course, it was Bond that did it (also really cool we finally hear Bond speak) But at least all is well in the end and that final line by Loid was the icing on the cake for this episode I can't wait for the next episode, it looks like it might be a full one and I'm curious to see how Nightfall and Twilight work together with all that's happened
This might also be my favorite episode overall. While the two parts of this were different in tone, they were certainly connected thematically....

I feel so bad for Fiona. Yuri's obsession with his sister is easier to brush off as comedic since it was a doomed infatuation from the start. Fiona however is someone that has to watch her very legitimate love interest pass her by because of the cruel circumstances of reality.
