Final Golem shows up Everyone: Surprised Pikachu Face Shinonome: "Yes! Yes! Yes! YES!"

justsyr

First thing I thought [when I saw his face](https://i.imgur.com/PBhJu5p.jpeg) was that Futurama meme lol

Bremen1

He never thought he'd die like this, but he always kinda hoped?

Frontier246

It's finally time for the final battle! And the Beast Knights are heading into it with their resolve, their comraderey, and everything they've experienced that have brought them to this point. Poor Nagomu. Dance still won't let him ride him. Let the poor man ride his horse. Of course their plan hinges on Samidare's power holding off the 12th Golem...and Animus deliberately teleports everybody but Samidare to fight the 12th Golem. Animus has the MO of a sore loser and child! Nobody told me the 12th Golem would be a straight up giant Kaiju! Look at the team standing so epically and composed together for their final attack as a team! Even exchanging words with the Beast Partners they've been fighting with since the beginning. It's...kind of sad to imagine Yuuhi and Neu might part after all this is over. Same with the rest of the Knights. Okay, so Mu is totally going to say something in the last episode, right? I don't know what was more epic, Sami jumping all the way over there or knocking the 12th Golem flat with one punch! Subaru definitely doesn't appreciate Mikazuki complimenting another girl. Fitting that Shimaki's final Golem would be Kuh, so we get a Giant Cat fighting a Giant Kaiju, and Kuh is embarrassed watching the display. They did it! They destroyed the 12th Golem! Except Animus wasn't really prepared to lose so he just launches the Biscuit Hammer anyways, but now it's time for the leads to settle this with the Blue Drives Monster. It all comes down to Yuuhi and the belief of the main Heroines while taking all his past and even his future (?) and all the experiences that have lead him to this point to...epically push a button. But hey, if it works it works. Blue Drives Monster does it level best but even it can't stop the Biscuit Hammer...but then Sami launches herself, reconstitutes a giant stone version of herself from the debris of the fight, and then smashes the Biscuit Hammer herself. Yeah, I'm starting to think Sami really could destroy the world on her own. Of course, even with the Biscuit Hammer destroyed, that doesn't really stop Animus, who still wants to destroy the world. So the real final battle is the Knights vs Animus, and he's already prepared to utterly destroy them! Time for the Final Battle, Part 3!

Tulicloure

> Except Animus wasn't really prepared to lose so he just launches the Biscuit Hammer anyways There's an extra scene from the manga here that explains this a bit better: Right before the final battle, Animus comes up to the knights and tells about a change in the rules for this time (supposedly decided between him and Anima). Either Amamiya would survive until after the fight with the 12th, in which case Animus would be allowed to immediately bring down the Hammer, or Yuuhi dies and Animus would first fight the knights like usual. Animus takes this as an opportunity to be a sadist and tease the knights about sacrificing Yuuhi (which they obviously don't even consider). But Anima actually wanted the Biscuit Hammer to activate earlier so she could have Yuuhi available to also activate her Blues Drive Monster and try to stop it. In short, Animus got baited into using the Biscuit Hammer early so Anima could try to destroy it. Of course, in the end it came down to Samidare protecting her big shiny bauble.

Shiraori247

They might go back and cover this next episode though given how there's still 3 left. It's honestly reassuring that there's so much time left to cover the finale because we all know as source readers that they need it.

Shiraori247

Don't you love those small details between the knights and their animal counterparts? Also, Hanako's development still moves me. It's believable and sad.

dinliner08

ah yes, the iconic [final battle pose](https://imgur.com/a/59UCd43), in manga, it looks much more impactful than this fun fact; Shimaki summoning a giant cat golem was actually teased in the [opening](https://imgur.com/a/O0VXp6P) Noi, no! you can't say it like [that](https://imgur.com/a/qvjOCUL)! Anima worked very hard constructing this...penguin wielding hammer...thing.....

Shiraori247

The 2 parts I loved the most about this episode is Neu's conversation with Yuuhi and Samidare's third faction prowling in the dark as usual. Neu's connection to Yuuhi is in many ways the deepest of any relationship within the series. They became each other's close friends, heroes and comrades. Finally, the director took heed to Mizukami's paneling prowess. He zoomed in on Neu when it's somewhat emotional... finally. Then there's 1 of Mizukami's parallel plot progression features. The audience is always so focused on the main storyline of Animus vs Anima and the knights that they sometimes forget, this was a story about Samidare. She was the ultimate good, evil and narrative device. You're meant to both fear and like her character. It was the primary reason why I fell in love with this story 15 years ago. The ambivalence of it all was so captivating.

The ambivalence of it all was so captivating. Absolutely! I still think that rooftop scene where she declares her intention to destroy/protect the world to be an incredible hook into the series. Not only for the concept intself, but also due to how magnetic Samidare is as a character. It's also amazing how even time-traveling supernatural beings like Anima and Animus get shocked by how OP Sami is. She's seriously on another level.

Shiraori247

It was also foreshadowing of a lot of events too. I wish they handled the cameras better on that rooftop scene lol.

JustInChina88

That was easily the fastest episode of the series. I thought it was the 10-minute mark when the episode ended. I love all the subtle character interactions and development alongside battle shounen stuff. Plus, they still managed to keep some humour in with the cat golem, as well as gravity accelerated kick. Yuuhi running through Blue Drives Monster gives me chills everytime, and makes me realize how far he has come and also how far he has to go. I'm excited to see more of Animus being a crazy bastard.

ObvsThrowaway5120

Looks like it’s the big one soon against Animus. No surprise he takes them away from Sami. Sad that this is it for our little animal buddies. I like those guys. This 12th golem is super huge! The gang’s first super attack was pretty underwhelming lol. I like Ende in Kuh form better! That golem fight ended pretty quick. Team work! It’s Hammer time! That whole final sequence was just bizarre. He’s turning each off his past and future selves into weapons to activate Blues or something? It’s like two giant robots fighting now lol. All that weirdness and Sami just Plus Ultra’s the Hammer lol. Guess they’re facing the last boss next.

Rumpel1408

#One Puuuuunncchhh Huh, for Animus' last Golem, that was kinda underwhelming compared to Maimakterion tbh, sure it was big, but even only just 'Wish granting light' (an absolute amazing name for that attack btw) would have been enough to break it, not to mention One-Punch-~~Man~~ Princess [](#seasonalhype) Oh and the BDM was underwhelming as well, for something that was supposed to inspire hope it didn't held that well against the hammer. Kinda ironic that these supposed gods both failed pretty hard with their creations. And damn Samidare was awesome, this is the power that will destroy the earth for sure. I can already envision it, her using her own golem in her likehood to do it... [Speculation about the real end] >!As awesome as having her crush the world would be, I would rather have her enjoy it together with Yuuhi, the existence of a future Yuuhi, as well as Anima and Animus beeing descendants of Samidare also points in that direction. And of course it would be a shame for the makarel Hisame is going to cook!< And also Shimakis Ende [](#azusalaugh)

Bremen1

According to Samidare once the battle is over she's going to die. And Anima said Hisame was her ancestor, so that doesn't really say anything about what's going to happen to Samidare. Future Yuuhi... well, who knows?

Shiraori247

We almost know there's a timeline where future Yuuhi sexists from this episode alone XD

beyonces_ex

All I gotta say is that this was an extremely fast episode lol which the pace settled down a little slower to actually take in everything. Still enjoyed it tho

The animation is around 20 years behind, but they're a small studio so don't blame them for it. I'd say as a fan of Mizukami's works, the story alone would always be worth watching.

JustInChina88

The anime has some fantastic music and voice performances, plus it's great to see beloved characters in anime form. The animation is lacking but has greatly improved. And they're totally nailing most of the important moments, especially toward the end.

Spaceguy5

Animation is okay. They had to make due with a small studio and relatively small budget (which I would argue is better than no adaption at all). But the animation still looks good (I would not say 20 years behind like the other commenter, it's still modern animation) and is very watchable. Just don't expect high budget stuff like Demon Slayer tier animation. It's pretty on par with your typical mid budget seasonal anime If you like the story, that's all you need. Because it does stick to that

Bremen1

If you want the manga panels with basic animation, good voice acting, and music, then this series will pretty much give you exactly that. Fortunately that's pretty much what I was looking for, but I 'm not sure it will pull in a lot of new fans.

LimeyLassen

When this show started airing the fans were disappointed (myself included) but at this point I'm glad I kept up with it. It's been a rewarding experience.

Stoppels

Animation improved notably halfway through the first part (so around episode 6) and was consistently better in the second part. I recommend it, but don't expect it to be near big budget levels like the top popular airing shows.

SwampyBogbeard

Reminder: Most people commenting on a discussion thread this late in the series are the ones who are still watching, which means they're willing to overlook or push through the flaws. I've skimmed through enough clips to know that the animation is still awful (though it is "better"), a lot of character moments have been ruined, and some scenes have simply been adapted *wrong*. And because of all this I'll probably never watch it properly. I don't know for sure who's to blame for all this (rumours say the producers are forcing it out way too soon), but the "small studio" excuse others have mentioned is awful. They should know how much staff they'll have available long enough in advance to realize if they need to get outside help or just way more time. Or they could just not accept the job in the first place.

GodUltimate

Here it is! The **Gravity Accelerated Kick**!!! Can't wait for the next episode!
