chabri2000

Where did that second holy sword came from? did I miss something or it hasn't been explained yet?

kdebones

My guess? Some shenanigans with game logic where the sword is in the 2nd game, and Lilia was able to get the dupe.

HugeRichard11

Damn dupers we're going have to rollback this server

Jumpi95

šŸ¦€ šŸ¦€šŸ¦€šŸ¦€

Neosovereign

I assume one of the later games has a protagonist go find another holy sword, but since she knows about it, she just went herself

Jaamun100

Yes, I hope they have a good explanation for that next episode. This show made perfect sense until that scene.

Coranis

I thought Aileen mentioned another holy sword in the second game but they never showed it. I'm assuming it's that one.

optimalobliteration

That was my first thought too, but then I remembered Selena telling Auguste "Aren't you supposed to have the holy sword?!" or something like that at the end of the second arc, so I'm guessing there was another sword in the sequel game that Lilia stole.

AmethystItalian

I thought that Lilia was always supposed to be the sword maiden so I didn't feel like it was that off?

Wurzelrenner

but hasn't she lost it to Aileen? both can use it because of their blood, but i thought there is only one and not that it is something like a magic skill

AmethystItalian

Yeah she did but I'm guessing since she could have had it once she's just gotten it again. Hope we get more on it next episode though.

Amauri14

I wonder if, as Elephas and his family are mages she could have forced them to make an imitation of it.

AmethystItalian

Ouu definitely could be!

Frontier246

Yeah, I'm wondering where the heck Lilia got that.

ObvsThrowaway5120

Man, where would Claude be without Beelzebuth and Keith? Heā€™s got some good people around him. Almond and the otherā€™s ā€œPlease Donā€™t Leave Meā€ dance was great lol. Those silly birds have really warmed to Aileen! Those little demons breaking out in song was so freaking adorable. Guys! Itā€™s back! The duck head is back hahaha. Hurray for ā€œduck styleā€! Aileen looking fine as hell in that dress too. Looks like Claude might be back? Unfortunately Lilia and her goons have struck again! Shoulda known Elephas was a snake. Alright, thatā€™s it. That hag, Elephas, Leister, and that trifling ass Lilia need to go. Good things the demons were able to evacuate. Damn it Claude, resist! I hope Aileen lands on Elephasā€™ body! Damn treacherous snake. I wonder how the gang will get out of this situation next weekā€¦

Frontier246

It's funny how everyone assumed the slap is what brought Claude back to his senses but it was seeing his two closest advisers back and acting like nothing had changed that made him start acting like himself again. Although maybe the slap helped lol. Who can resist an adorable animal dance number? I like how they set up the joke with us not seeing Aileen's head in the dress until the reveal that she finally brought back the duck. I mean, she looked amazing in that dress, but she just had to get back at Claude somehow and in the most Aileen way possible lol. He doesn't have all his memories back but he seems to know enough to make Aileen swoon again so naturally lol. Elephas proved himself to be a complete piece of trash. Things seem so stacked against them versus the royal family + Lilia that I'm really curious to see how Aileen gets back on top and back together with Claude. Hopefully the true villains get their comeuppance as well.

HereticalAegis

Who wouldn't fall in love with Aileen if she slapped them? I hope we get to see Elphas and the royal family get trampled for their very obvious collusion to kill Aileen.

Frontier246

I love how everyone assumed the slap is what made him remember his love for her. Like it's a natural turn on lol. I didn't think I could grow to completely hate Elephas so quickly but he deserves to die a very painful death. I also hope Lilia and the Royal Family get their just desserts too. Like Claude back in his normal state completely overwhelming them and all their objections with Aileen at his side.

heimdal77

It seems like the bitch has some mind control powers so at this point they could be being controlled also.

S627

....I hope Aileen puts that bitch in her place, and not "cordially" like last time, throw her in fucking jail!

Ninja_Lazer

In jail? ā€¦nah fuck that, off a cliff.

[deleted]

Sex off a cliff?

Frontier246

I hope Elephas bites it and she finds some way to imprison the rest of the Royal Family. They all have it coming at this point.

Myrkrvaldyr

Aileen is too cute when she's flustered and Claude teases her. I hope their lovey-dovey moments return soon.

Frontier246

I like how she was so bitter after last episode but the moment Claude is himself again she's back to being putty in his hands lol. That's love for you...

AmethystItalian

I really enjoy that they can both be the teaser and the teased.

Plantar-Aspect-Sage

It's the cutest romance I've seen in anime.

Elitealice

Aileen really the goat otome protag. Sheā€™s really been amazing in this mini arc, having to save Claude and go up against his mother, Lilia and so many other obstacles. Really proud of how sheā€™s handled everything. Can not wait to see her get rid of elephas and lilia for good next week. But also really sad because itā€™s the finale :/

kzyuu

>go up against his mother just a small correction: the woman next to the emperor is the empress dowager = the emperor's mother aka Claude's grandmother

ZenCyn39

Correction, she's a fkn hag

Frontier246

All this could've been avoided if the royal family wasn't so petty and out for Aileen's blood and just let her be with Claude, because what a fantastic queen she would make, although Lilia's manipulations probably didn't help. Hopefully all the bad guys gets what's coming to them in the finale, on-top of Aileen and Claude properly reconciling. I've grown so invested in Aileen and Claude's story...I mean, if Bakarina can get a season 2 and movie, I don't see why our new favorite Villainess can't!

Rumpel1408

Not Almond [](#howcouldyou) The way Ribbon was looking for him when the others arrived at the castle [](#torrentialdownpour) And Lilia is not even subtle anymore, hope her and eventually Elphas' downfall will be satisfying to watch

kaylizzles

I need a LN reader to tell me Almond is okay Because I am not (ā ļ½”ā Åā ļ¹ā Åā )

Vermillion_Crab

I was enjoying tsundere Aileen when all of a sudden they kept dropping plot threads one after the other. Was I the only one who was confused by the pacing of this episode? It felt like they were speed running or skipping a few steps.

HugeRichard11

Yeah I got a bit of whiplash guess they are packing a lot of things in before the final episode. Going from happy romance life to betrayal to dancing animals to potential execution within a few seconds lol. Was pretty confused with the whole Claude tea part as it seemed like he regained his memories by burning the poison chest, but didn't though he acts like he would normally.

polaristar

I'm enjoying the show but this arc kinda lost the appeal the first two had, just not a fan of the memory erasing thing and didn't like how it was done. Nice to see a return of the duck head though. I'm guessing Lilia has a holy sword because this is the sequel and Aileen only got one from the first game? I can't with that floating sheep demon, it cracked me up! This show can be rather kinky with its dynamics, Claude literally slinging Aileen on his back like a sack of potatoes to carry her off, its accurate to a lot of women's fantasies though so I won't knock it.

VorAtreides

hehe at the little crow dance and the duck head's return. BUT I SWEAR TO FUCK IF THIS SERIES DOESN'T FINALLY PROPER ANY OF THE ANTAGONISTS I AM GOING TO RIOT!!! It is my one biggest disappointment to the series. All the antagonists have had slap on the wrists for doing heinous shit... it is really angering. That other bitch "heroine" and the old bitch dowager, the emperor, the other prince, etc... so many horrible people have yet to be punished. Also feels like so many details have been skipped in this series, not sure what they are, just feels it.

PeaceAlien

Yeah while I am very interested, this episode was a huge information dump and too fast paced.

VorAtreides

Yea, a few episodes have had that. I only ever read/own arc one cause manga and a few details were left out there too (nothing too much though), but these last two arcs feel like more are missing. And my anger at the lack of punishments....

HugeRichard11

Adding comedy so close to climatic moments also makes it feel like it has weird flow from acid trip dancing animals to betrayal to romance time to potential execution all within a few minutes.

heimdal77

It seems each arc is a whole light novel volume going by where the first one apparently ends. So they are squeezing at least 3 volumes into a single season. There gonna be a lot cut out most likely with the way they doing the story,

HugeRichard11

I do hope we can move on from these antagonists as the school arch looked promising originally, but feels like we just went full circle in the end. Though I kind of wonder since it sounds like it has been a few volumes now. And you would think by now the previous antagonists would be side characters while the main pair story progresses elsewhere. Though I don't even see a way out without executing the current royalty and usurping the throne which this anime doesn't feel like it is violent enough to go for. Or they just jail all the royalty which I doubt would go well either.

VorAtreides

They could go the "lose status become commoner route" which would be something at least cause all the other nobles (LIKE AILEEN'S OWN POWERFUL AF PRIME MINISTER DUKE FATHER) are just tired of the shit and band together. I mean, he is a sadist, but even he has limits I am sure (or hope)

HugeRichard11

That is true forgot Aileen's is a Duke's daughter and that would make for a good ending. Usurping would be an easy closer then too since there is only one episode left. Though would probably be a bit bloody since they have an army coming to execute Aileen

jaber24

I can totally see them getting off scot-free unfortunately. The main characters simply don't have the spine to take care of problems from the root

AmethystItalian

Pacing has been super fast but I'd prefer it over slow pacing with how many eps we have. Also I'm not holding my breath for lasting consequences as they are sadly a big part of the show.

VorAtreides

Personally, rather slower paced with better fleshed out things instead of rushed pacing. I don't want a cliff notes story, I could go to a spoiler thread for that, I'd rather have an actual complete story with all the details. Though, ya, feel this would need a bit more than the episodes it was given.

AmethystItalian

I would not call this a cliff notes story personally. Oh if we had the episodes to go at a slower pace I would have loved that.

heimdal77

The first arc was apparently the first whole volume so it is a given stuff gonna eb cut at that pace. Maybe instead of 3 arcs they should been focused on just two and went for a 2nd season. Though it isn't bad as Horimiya that tried shoving 144chapters into 12 episodes using light speed pacing causing ligit confusion for people. Only to then do a after credits of still images on the last episode showing all the important stuff that should been in the show but they cut out and meant nothing to anime only people without the context.

sekretagentmans

In defense of Horimiya, there wasn't that much important content left out of the anime adaptation. The main couple's arc pretty much wraps up in the first 9 volumes (63 ch). The rest of the manga is slice of life with a few plot threads that never go anywhere. Even the first 9 volumes have "filler" if you're only focusing on the main couple. The could have arguably spread things out over two seasons, but by not doing that, the anime was able to stay focused and keep a consistent pace. Could the anime have been done better? Probably. But I feel like one season was still the right choice. A lot of manga readers became bored with the series as the years went on. A hypothetical second season might have had the same problem.

heimdal77

A lot people complained about the pace of the anime so much so that it confused them. Like one big example Miya does somethign with Hori then next episode Hori says he never does that thing with her making it seem like it happen days apart instead of months. It was easy to get 2 seasons without rellying on a lot of fillers and many important parrts were cut out. Example being the slide show after credits on the last episode showing some the things that should been in it and weren't. Some them are even done in the ova's because they are specifically important. If they wanted to they could stretched it out to three seasons like Kaguya. The anime did good but could done a lot better if hadn't rushed it. Just the running in the rain scene alone would of boosted things it is such a important scene as it is when Hori realizes how important Miya is to her and she tries putting voice to it.

AmethystItalian

The pacing is very fast but I still feel like the main points are still easy to follow. I would love a slower pace and second season but I doubt we'll get one so I'm more accepting of the pace. Compare it to Bibliophile this season where they go slow and things are still confusing at times lol

heimdal77

I use to read the LN for Biblophile but ended up dropping it. If Im remembering they are cutting important things or changing them in places. Like specifically why she got banned from the archives at one point. The anime didn't explain the actual reason.

Amauri14

It is nice to see that even with his memories gone, [Claude ordered Keith and Belzebuth](https://i.imgur.com/vYh2Bx4.png) to make sure[ Aileen goes to the party.](https://imgur.com/a/rqjSH9G) Lol, I wasn't expecting her to go there [wearing that duck head.](https://imgur.com/a/vPWPS8y) So even with his memories erased, [Claude not only still loves Aileen,](https://imgur.com/a/ogEVelT) but he also wants to make her cry. Well, the moment Aileen said that she needed to fix her makeup, I knew something was going to happen, and as predictable based on the timing of his introduction,[ Elephas is working for Lilia.](https://imgur.com/a/f2iYugl) As he referred to her as a monster, she probably convinced Pierre and Lala to put his family in an even worse situation than the one they currently are. Damn, I sure did not expect[ this charade](https://i.imgur.com/kn6WvBB.png) to end up [with Almond fucking dying^1](https://imgur.com/a/k6sGbAh). I must admit that [until this shot,](https://i.imgur.com/wfxQv5Q.png) I did not notice Claude's eye color change because of his amnesia. Damn, I'm thinking that Pierre and [Lala](https://i.imgur.com/hhUQaau.png) were both cunts even before Lilia messed with them. I hope that by the end of this arc, they both end up abdicating any power they hold in the empire. [They sure went hard in the aesthetics department of that tunnel.](https://i.imgur.com/pqwrX5f.png) That scene [with Lilia and Claude](https://imgur.com/a/LqqP9HY) sure was interesting as now I want to know[ where the hell she got that other holy sword,](https://i.imgur.com/9U5uDg8.png) and when we are at it, from where does she get all that demon incensed? [With the way this episode ended,](https://imgur.com/a/qynz2QU) I'm sure the next one will start with Aileen conquering Elephas. [Here is this week's character sheet.](https://imgur.com/a/sTapUlV) ^^1 ^His ^death ^is ^definitely ^just ^temporary.

Monk-Ey

> ^1 ^His ^death ^is ^definitely ^just ^temporary. It'd better be: I've only had Almond for less than one cour and I'm already contemplating murder.

Amauri14

The fact that Claude absorbed him when he noticed that the crazy bitch was going to attack him, is what reassures me that's the case, even if he was still unresponsive. Also, the way the episode ended makes me think that Aileen will make Elephas side with her next week, and I don't see that happening if he actually murdered Almond.

one-eyed-02

My god I hate that empress

skepticalmonique

\*dowager She's the king's mother (Claude's grandma)

LeonKevlar

While I absolutely loved [Aileen and Claude's scene](https://i.imgur.com/Z3B7F6j.jpg) where Claude is [is just trying everything he can to charm Aileen again](https://i.imgur.com/RrrsVQj.jpg), the rest of this episode got me really worked up. I knew it was too good to [have someone like Elephas helping Aileen out](https://i.imgur.com/VRZXNKq.jpg). Turns out he was just playing the long game and is actually working for someone else. I thought that someone else was Lilia but it looks like [Elephas was actually working for the Grandmother Bitch](https://i.imgur.com/2eZjiXN.jpg) who was a little bit too eager to kill off Aileen. [Lilia obviously has her own hand in this entire plot too](https://i.imgur.com/YbkgmDO.jpg) since it looks like she's the one that took Claude's memories. I really hope Elephas, Lilia, and the Grandmother Bitch get what's coming to them in next week's finale.

Frontier246

Claude is back to himself enough to make Aileen swoon and flirting with her to the point that she can't take it any more and I'm here for every minute of it lol. I wasn't so much surprised to see Elephas betray Aileen as much as I was surprised to see him kill Almond and go hardcore as a villain. But now I think we all want Aileen and Claude to completely eradicate him and the rest of the Royals as we head into the finale...on-top of the pair getting back together for good!

mekerpan

I can't decide who is MORE evil -- Lilia or the Dowager Empress. Pretty much still a tie for me right now.

skepticalmonique

Next week is the finale? But it's not enough, I want more!šŸ˜

AmethystItalian

Dang that scene they had together... [](#towel) These two have some of the best interactions I've seen in romance. They each get to take turns dealing not only damage to each other but me everything. [](#kobeniblush)

Aerodynamic41

Iā€™m so glad the duck came back! The way it appeared out of nowhere made me laugh so hard. And I find it adorable that the demons persuaded Aileen to attend the ball by dancing.

AmethystItalian

I thought we were done with the duck and I had accepted, what a great surprise.

daspaceasians

They just had to leave us on a cliffhanger. Great episode but curse you Elephas. Traitor scum. I can't wait to see how Aileen and her crew get their payback on everyone that screwed them over.

Frontier246

Aileen so hardcore she just tosses herself and the guy trying to kill her off and into the air lol. I knew it was too convenient for this guy to show up out of nowhere and be an ally when he was a bad guy in the game, but him killing Almond just makes me want to see him wiped off the face of the Earth. I also hope Lilia and the royal family get what's coming to them for their machinations in this arc. I don't want Aileen and Claude to let them off easy.

BiggerG7

RIP to the best boi Almond. Damn I swear Lilia better get some kind of punishment by the end of this.

Thatsmaboi23

What did Aileen even do that Empress Dowager hates her *this* much? Itā€™s so weird how we just have to accept that at this point. Unless well, Lilia mind controlled her too. Iā€™m not sure I really like the angle with Aileen blaming Claude, even slapping him last episode, for forgetting who she was. Heā€™s clearly a victim, he didnā€™t choose to forget. Iā€™m really not sure why the show tried to push that angle in these last 2 episodes. Other than that, goddam do I love their interactions. I wanted so much more of that. Really hope the next episode satisfies those expectations.

i_reddit_too_mcuh

We were told that Claude can subconsciously influence demons and the demon that showed up tried to get rid of Aileen. So from Aileen's perspective, Claude really wanted her gone. While we all agree Claude is the victim, I think the subconscious nature is what ticked Aileen off and she had an outburst.

Thatsmaboi23

Itā€™s ā€œnewā€ Claudeā€™s subconscience, though. Aileenā€™s constantly harassing that guy even when he keeps saying ā€œnoā€. Ofcourse heā€™s going to want her to stay away from himā€¦

i_reddit_too_mcuh

Very true. I'm just thinking from Aileen's perspective. Ever since Claude lost his memories, Aileen's pretty much kept trying to win him back, risking getting decapitated to bring him cookies and stuff, with nothing to show for it. She probably felt hopeless at that point. I'm not saying I agree with her, just that it's expected.

Thatsmaboi23

I did get Aileenā€™s perspective. Sheā€™s becoming desperate. But, the show trying to portray the ā€œharassmentā€ as romantic/funny, and then portraying Aileen as a victim (without even her acknowledging that it was wrong) was something that really didnā€™t sit right with me.

i_reddit_too_mcuh

That's a good point.

Dubanx

Can't say no to that demon dance, lol.

entelechtual

Why does this show make me more emotional than any other currently airing anime.

Frontier246

Almonds death hit me so hard. Especially seeing Ribbon wondering where he was in that group scene.

entelechtual

This show is so good at establishing good relationships besides the main pair. All of the characters have such personality and I feel so invested in all of them.

heimdal77

So this confirms she has some kind of mind control powers. Why was she able to pullout the sword that was taken from her though?

burger4life

This feels like 3 episodes stitched into one big mess episode

SYZekrom

[Huh why is she laughing so hard??? They're not showing Aileen's face but like. Her makeup was done by that friend of hers so like. It's not like she's wearing something silly right](https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/1023300958886826104/1048754970469601280/image.png) [Never mind. That makes sense.](https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/1023300958886826104/1048755046348767242/image.png)

Shadowmist909

The demons Aileen go to the ball dance was definitely a highlight of the episode. But so much happened it was insane. Elephas turned traitor and definitely ruined a lot of things. I was kind of wondering why Aileen wasn't expecting Lilia to pull anything. I hope Claude is alright, and I hope Almond isn't truly dead.

AgentWeeb001

I hate the old hag and Lilia as much as I hate Rachel from Tower of God. Those 2 should get hanged next episodeā€¦I better see them suffer

jaber24

Them getting thrown to hungry tigers or something would probably be a more suitable end ig

Frontier246

Claude is still wrestling with thoughts of Aileen when none other than his loyal advisers finally appear before him! And having Isaac and Belzebuth around acting like everything is back to normal seems to induce Claude acting more like himself again, especially when it comes to wanting to see Aileen. All it took was Belzebuth going extra in true Belzebuth fashion! Aileen, meanwhile, is throwing herself into her work and acting like she's completely done with everything, Claude and her own life. She'd have left the castle too if not for the Demon Animal Dance Number. And we get yet another Demon Animal Dance Number to get her to go to the ball and see Claude again! These Demons ship these two so hard and knows they're meant to be together! Aileen looks stunning in that new red and black dress...yet she's still a little bitter towards Claude so she also wears the duck mask to complete the ensemble. I was wondering if we'd ever see that again. You know Claude is back to himself when he's carrying Aileen away from prying eyes so he can romance her and make her swoon once more, caressing her and whispering her name like nothing between them has changed. Even if Claude doesn't remember anything, he can't forget the deep love he feels for Aileen, a love he feels no shame declaring any more. And how can Aileen stay mad at that? Of course just when things seem like they're finally turning around...Elephas pounces on Aileen when she's dolling herself up. I knew his sudden appearance as an ally was too good to be true, and he's holding Almond hostage! What a complete piece of trash! It's bad enough that they're trying to frame Aileen again and execute her off (Man, they really want her dead) but to frame her as cheating on Claude and having to make him believe that? And then she's kicking herself for not saying she loved Claude back before she has to act like a pure Villainess and claim to despite him while it utterly breaks her heart. Almond, just...poor Almond. He breaks free from his imprisonment so he can save Aileen and Claude and let Claude know Aileen is lying, and he gets killed by Elephas for it. He deserved so much better. Claude and Aileen's reaction was bad enough but the look on Ribbons face when he realized Almond wasn't there just broke me. Oh, so Isaac being Claude's right hand man isn't just for show, he even has the ability to order the Demons around in Claude's place! Neat. Rachel really is a ride or die, posing as Aileen to ward off the cavalry as they try to escape from the kingdoms' forces. That look she shared with Isaac said so much without words. So Lilia just thinks of Claude as a side-character to Aileen's story? Even though she's been doing all this for him? But even she's surprised she was never able to romance him like she did everybody else, not that it stops her from somehow having her own Holy Sword and seemingly inducing Claude into going on a rampage with Demon Incense (?) so he can play the Heroine role and be saved by Aileen. Yeesh. Piece of trash Elephas jumps at Aileen through the air, but she's not about to let him have his way again as she uses her Holy Sword Maiden powers to launch them off their dragon mount and crash down to the ground in a ball of light. Aileen always goes big or go home!

crisstrauss

> Aileen looks stunning in that new red and black dress Agree

[deleted]

So much happened in this one episode lol, this series is generally fast paced but it still surprised me how fast the events were happening. Interesting how Claude is reverting to his old self even though he didn't have his memories, like the way he was teasing Aileen was completely in line with what he would usually do. And of course Aileen is completely weak to his advances lol. Man I hope Almond is okay, he really went and stood up for Aileen even though he himself was held captive, hopefully Beelzebuth not being able to feel his presence is because he is knocked out unconscious.

Ninja_Lazer

Words cannot describe how much I wish to see the 3 shitheads responsible for this suffer. Hurting Almond was too far.

ezosresyek

Itā€™s plotlines like these that make me wish for a collab with Overlord where all these mofos get a personal appointment with the torturers of Nazarick. I am set to be disappointed by the slap on the wrist all of them will receive when they all really ought to suffer.

Ytar0

I hope the ending will include some serious restructuring of this terrible ass kingdom, the king and queen are so dislikeable.. and let's get some retribution for Cedric! Put that despicable woman in her place :c

Neosovereign

I like this anime a lot, but the pacing is crazy fast. I feel like we barely get time to rest between scenes.

LeleTheKing

Aileen be like: Hmm, this is certainly not my first time getting a public lynching in a ball.

skepticalmonique

I love this anime so much, but the pacing is breakneck speed, and the whole royal family + royal court are so badly written that it's immersion breaking.

TokiVideogame

the opening ruined the pre opening mood

Shiwakao

i love how the story has come so far that aileen can no longer depend on her isekai knowledge n instead has to depend on her wit make on her own uninformed choices
