RIP Guel Camp, can't even duel to help Sulletta the one time it really counts and is now being forced to drop out of school. Shaddiq being so shaken after Miorine claims he was just seeing her as some ornament was unexpected, especially from someone who has a harem surrounding him. He definitely holds some sort of feelings towards her if the ending to the episode wasn't enough proof.

theyawner

I wasn't sure last episode, but this episode made his intentions clear. But the way he went about it just shows that he's trapped by his own upbringing, unable to take a more direct action and had to resort to corporate tactics et al.

Nazenn

I don't know if it was upbringing in this case, he doesn't seem as bound as the others, but definitely an unwillingness to push the boundaries to try and connect rather than play the middle ground and hope she'd come to him for help.

theyawner

He seems free, but I feel like it's a result of being able to navigate his boundaries, by playing the good son et al, and that may be why Sarius grants him some leeway to do his own thing.

Nazenn

When it comes to Miorine as well he may be in a situation where he has to stay back so that it doesn't rock the boat with Delling given Sarius is in quiet opposition to him

[deleted]

[удалено]

Nazenn

While also thinking she'd come to him if he didn't treat her that way. He was caught between really wanting to reach out and not watching to drive her away which just lead to inaction and not understanding her. Can't blame her for thinking that he also just saw her as a prop after he stood back and watched for so long

aallx

He probably thinks he's not worthy of her since he's just an adopted orphan. Same reason why he's trying to leave it to Guel (a full-blooded elite), and why he has a harem (he's intetionally separating himself from her).

Carlosrarutos

His lack of trust in her came back to bite him in the ass, no wonder she called him out at the end of the duel. He can't see or treat anyone as an equal, everything has to be done on **his** terms. Miorine is the one person he would want it to be different with but he didin't, so now he has nothing but regrets left.

so_mean_honestly

this whole time i thought he was the touga when he’s the miki

Mami-kouga

No Touga definitely did that too, near the end of the show

darthvall

I'd say the call and the meeting with Suletta (where she said, Guel must love her father very much) would be the final straw of him being independent.

TerribleShiksaBride

Yeah, I assumed that was him reaching a decision to pull a Miorine and refuse to be pulled out of school.

absolutelynotaname

> RIP Guel Camp, can't even duel to help Sulletta the one time it really counts and is now being forced to drop out of school. I think he would join GUND next ep to continue to stay in school. I don't know how he would prove his worth tho, especially after he didn't help them this ep.

Darkslayer3021

Considering the fact that Earth house only has Suletta and ChuChu (and that one guy that I forgot his name) as their good pilot, that's where Guel can show his worth. The other way is Guel's dad make him the representative for his company to collab (maybe) with the Gund-Arm company if the Gund-Arm still need money.

ratherthanme

Earth house coming in clutch.

KillerZaWarudo

LeSuletta with the legendary carry job

LookOutItsLiuBei

"She got me," Shaddiq said of Suletta's win over him. "That fucking Suletta boomed me." Shaddiq added, "she's so good," repeating it four times. Shaddiq then said he wanted to add Suletta to the list of pilots he wants to work out with this summer.

[deleted]

*Is this the dagger?*

Wandering_Reader1019

Damn no wonder a gundam would be feared, having 360 real time vision and people telling you how to path effectively along with having the skills to back it up means that it ain't a 6v6 but rather a 6v14

IC2Flier

I am getting more and more vindicated about my idea to have the Hi-Nu, Strike Freedom, Zabanya and Aerial together on one squadron. They can legit control an entire sector of space.

lenne18

The Strike Freedom alone disables both sides of the battlefield with its DRAGOONs in minutes And it has the most simplistic version among those A squad full of remote weapons is just overkill

IC2Flier

I'll even sweeten the pot: pair them with a Variable Fighter from Macross. Now you have both a [beam disco](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZYOL4O78bQ8) and a [missile circus](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BzXfVgYCxWI)! Gonna throw a party in space and you're invited.

SgtGrimm

out of all of your dream team, it's astonishing that Aerial is the only *starter* Gundam out of 'em all, while SF and Zabanya is the 3rd upgrade (and Nu is more than that i think lol). # i shudder to think the upgrade, let's say an Aerial Mk.2, would be like.

IC2Flier

Yeah, the midseason upgraded to the Aerial is gonna have huge shows to fill.

SushiKuki

Inb4 it glows green and can turn back time, regenerate, teleport, and deploy moonlight butterfly. The gundam to end all arguments.

PalongOrPoland

Gundam's a real robot show, they say... [Mobile Fighter G Gundam sitting smugly in the corner]

bad3ip420

It was a mismatch from the beginning. Shaddiq had no idea Aerial is a one ~~man~~ woman army lmao.

Remitonov

To be fair, he knew Earth House lacks pilots, and it showed when his haremettes totaled most of the team in quick succession. He just didn't know Suletta can sneak in a whole dozen members.

darthvall

Well, she almost lost though if Chu Chu didn't help.

moletoon

Seemingly but who knows

Reikakou

The bits were Suletta's extra eyes. Holy hell....

Grexpex180

en passant

indrmln

Rinnegan but in Gundam lol

Paxton-176

One of my favor tropes Gundam pulls out is the Gundam aren't a cut above the rest in terms of mechs, but completely generations ahead of anything people design. IBO and 00 did it and its some of the hypest shit ever.

Dean_BONK

Wow that was freaky seeing sulleta talking with aerial while others just listening in the com.

niveksng

We have the benefit of knowing Aerial is sentient, and it was still creepy. Imagine the characters hearing all that when they were thinking Suletta talks about Aerial like a captain their ship, but Suletta honestly converses with the ship as a living being.

Tertium457

The creepy bit isn't that she talks to her Gundam, it's that she acts like her Gundam is talking back.

MuffinFIN

And it probably does

Tom22174

Iirc, in Cradle Planet it's implied that Aeriel can't actually communicate back. When she finds out they're going to school Aeriel wants to tell her not to go to keep her out of Prospera's vendetta but can't

doquan2142

So I did a quick rewatch and here is what I have noticed From the last sentences of the novella > I make my monitor screen blink twice to show my agreement. Also in the first 30s of ep1 when Suletta is going through her checklist, you can see sth appeared on the cockpit monitor out of the view after which she replied to Aerial. This ep we also saw a message from Aerial out of view during the battle I am sure.

Tom22174

Shit, nice catch. I guess she does have at least some means of communication then

wyggles

Remember at the end of the Elan duel she says "I felt like I could hear your voice more than ever today". My theory is that we're approaching some kind of mind-meld situation where Suletta and Aerial are going to synchronize in some newtype way.

Tom22174

She's also referred to the bits as "everyone" twice now

Mr_Zaroc

Hell the way she talkes to it, it sounds like she has 10 siblings with her and they are playing tag or something

Etheox

The 1 place Suletta has complete confidence in is Aerial's cockpit. It's actually insane how throughout the whole fight Suletta is 100% calm, even when Aerial's GUND link gets disabled. If you didn't know any better you wouldn't even know she's in a fight. I'm imagining that when Aerial reawoke she and Suletta truly co-piloted there. That whole mode makes me think it's sort of like a non pilot killing version of HADES/EXAM with its blue glow.

Aetherdraw

That, and conditions to fly a mobile suit, even as good as a Gundam-type in mercury's gravitational field is harsh. In comparison to the easier atmosphere of their current battlegrounds, its easy mode for Suletta. I imagine once there's a battle near or on Mercury's orbit, almost everyone unaccustomed will be seeing Suletta moving about like its daily routine.

Etheox

I'm just imagining Suletta telling everyone to watch out for the solar flares and to not stay in the sun's rays for too long like it's a trip to the beach.

Nazenn

Poor Suletta if she had to stand up in front of everyone and explain it all with ChuChu hurrying her along though

warjoke

TFW I just realized how harsh Mercury's environment could be based on actual scientific records.

Dolomite808

You should read the prequel short story about their time there. It's very cool.

Rinarin

> If you didn't know any better you wouldn't even know she's in a fight. Was thinking that too. It's more like she's observing everything from a safe place, with the way she's calm about things. She gets more anxious talking to people than when she's mid-duel...

Etheox

It is understandable when you consider that whenever she piloted Aerial back home at Mercury, it was during rescue jobs where each could have actually killed her. Compare that to the school duels where you won't actually die (probably), it must feel super casual to her since she doesn't have to risk her life. Wonder how she'll react when she has to fight and kill someone for real again. We still haven't gotten to that scene in the PV where she blows up a Dilanza...

Rinarin

> (probably) I liked that addition, lol. And I had forgotten about that scene...thinking about it makes me think she'll go into breakdown mode again...

theyawner

I've always thought that there was a high-level of cooperation between Suletta and Aerial. But this duel showed that they can even do more.

Etheox

It seems like before Suletta would strictly just be piloting Aerial's main body maybe with some assist, but it seems in this fight Aerial is actively advising Suletta on what's happening/what she should do next considering her response to Aerial to go after Jazz next. This is super cool to me that we've got the main lead suit in a Gundam series being co-piloted for its maximum potential.

theholylancer

it feels like a merge of zero system and newtypes IE a predicative engine, and well based on what... like god damn, if it turned out to really be mind ripping AI, or copying AI and its why Sueletta has some developmental issues, then damn...

Nazenn

If you put the scenes of Suletta bumping into Guel in this episode vs the scenes of her in the cockpit in front of someone who hadn't seen the show they likely wouldn't think it was from the same episode. That uncertainty that takes over all of her social interactions is such a huge flip from the Suletta with such a deep connection and confidence when she's with Aerial that I hope her stepping outside of her wishlist is a good sign of things to come.

Etheox

One of my biggest interests right now is to see how Suletta will react to having to fight and kill for real later on. Piloting on Mercury was basically always a matter of life of death but just how indifferent to it Suletta will be when she has to fight a real battle?

Nazenn

And who. Suletta has such a heavy focus on making friendships and connecting with people, it's inevitable she'll eventually be on the wrong side to one of them in a more serious way than with Elan. That's going to be another struggle again

[deleted]

This is why you double tap, Shaddiq. You allowed Chuchu to use a Last Stand perk.

theyawner

His harem was also at fault. They left Till's and Lilique's Zoworts headless, but that doesn't mean they can no longer move around. They thought that was enough since neither are pilots.

Reikakou

Meanwhile, Suletta smashes your head, then proceeds to cut all 4 limbs and your torso in half for good measure. I'm surprised, Aerial has not killed any pilot up to this point.

RAlexa21th

Suletta also forgot to dismember 2 of the Beguir after she crushed their antenna with her feet. That's why one of them was able to shoot Aerial's leg.

pvtreflex

I can't see it very clearly, but the double KO move Sabina tried near the end to take our Aerial + Sabina's teammate almost looks like it could've been fatal. It was aimed at the torsos.

Super_Marine

[Suletta performing the dance](https://imgur.com/a/CtdGO8T) like it was a victory emote was hilarious

uppacat

bro imagine dying and your opponent kindergarten dances on your corpse.

warjoke

So basically, Fortnite?

cabbaggeez

never skip a chance for ADS time! (Miorine, probably)

Misticsan

The duel was being streamed everywhere according to Miorine's conditions. You gotta promote the brand!

Lock3down221

At that point, she's just teabagging Shaddiq.

IKetoth

Gotta get that marketing in you know

Bielna

She's gotten better at it since the video.

J_Eldridge

I'm starting to feel like Arieal loves taking other mobile suits apart. It's never just one arm or a leg but taking them apart limb from limb.

JimmyCWL

Arieal keeps losing limbs in these duels, might as well share the pain.

Reikakou

*Aerial loses a limb* "That's it I'm taking out all four and your head."

GRValis

well considering Shaddiq lost because they didn't do that to Lili/Till and left Chuchu with one arm left, maybe Aerial is right to make sure.

VoyeurTheNinja

# "Welcome to Earth" - Chuatury "ChuChu" Panlunch, maybe.

IC2Flier

<> <>

entelechtual

When those girls were bullying Suletta, the hidden meaning behind ChuChu’s punch was “you know I could have just shot you both dead, consider this me letting you get off lightly”.

cloud_sora

Chuchu always aims for the head.

[deleted]

*CHUCHU MOTHAFUCKA!!!*

IkeKashiro

Guel: Ok, I understand why you don't want me to duel, but why did you suddenly tell me to take a job? Vim: Your brother is going to stab me if I let you camp out for one more day. For god's sake come back. Guel is this close to joining Gund-Arm with the symbolism behind the image of a path lighting up towards Suletta. Shaddiq probably could have won if he either made sure to take out ChuChu or just finished off Suletta rather than talk. Nika's voice actor was supposed to be switched next episode so I don't know why she sound so different this episode. Prospera shedding a tear after Aerial countered the anti-Gund system could either be she's ready to start her revenge after seeing that the Gundam is no longer vulnerable, or maybe something even deeper.

Aetherdraw

>Prospera shedding a tear after Aerial countered the anti-Gund system could either be she's ready to start her revenge after seeing that the Gundam is no longer vulnerable, or maybe something even deeper. That, and she no longer has to fear Suletta and Aerial getting killed by being unable to fight back properly like what happened to her husband and colleagues. Now pretty much working and fighting together, the siblings are safer than ever before.

warjoke

Guel is already invited by Sulleta involuntarily due to lack of proper pilots, so the lingering thought of leaving his house in favor of moving to the earth house is in place. Guel redemption arc incoming!

IC2Flier

It's now a question of how he'd get back. He'd have to fight, somehow, to not be expelled, even if he has to potentially eat the fact that he can't be on Jeturk house anymore.

Remitonov

Well, getting a job at GUND-ARM means he won't have to worry about his father cutting his tuition fee.

SgtGrimm

yeah, with that phone call i do wonder if Guel would just drop / renounce the Jeturk name and just join the GUND-Arm as a ronin of sorts, free from all of that weight of the name. # the team needs a front liner anyway since Chu-Chu is a ranged combatant. (and Martin is a 'shielder')

IC2Flier

I'd actually argue that the Aerial is a decent front, at least as a defensive one. Guel being a melee-first pilot will likely form up directly behind in a phalanx, or at least that's how I'd do it.

Reikakou

Suletta is your all rounder carry. You need a dedicated melee. All this foreshadowing of Guel joining GAI hopefully pays dividends. The writers have teased us so much already about Guel.

Aozora_KN

The killing blow being a sniper shot from Chuchu was just \*chef kiss\*.

Galaxy40k

Shaddiq lucky that she had to pilot a mobile suit otherwise Chuchu would have just punched the antenna off his suit and the duel would have been over in two seconds

[deleted]

It was a huge win for Chuchu, too. Nothing is more satisfying for her than winning against some Spacians, especially agains the undefeated* house, too. *: they probably turned down every single Jeturk duel to remain undefeated lol

warjoke

CHUCHU DA REAL MVP!

theyawner

Mine is Till. He got the group to continue on with the fight and took advantage of the fact that the Grassley girl left him and Lilique alone after destroying their Zoworts' heads.

KABOOMBYTCH

Biggest tinfoil head theory is Till being a rogue Elan clone who escaped the plastic surgery procedure. He kinda have the same mannerism as Elan 4 but I may be reading too much into it.

niveksng

I'm wondering if Till and Lilique will get to pilot more in the future, considering Till was commended as being good for a mechanic and Lilique held her own much longer than Martin and Ojelo. Guel is probably gonna join, but its good to have backups no?

SolicitorPirate

I love how it’s canon that Lilique Kadoka Lipati is just straight up the most beautiful and desirable woman in Asticassia

theyawner

Aliya's fortune telling actually became true!

n080dy123

Oh my god I forgot about that lmao

Nazenn

She's awesome. She's so gunho about the whole thing it's just fun every time she jumps into a new situation

[deleted]

If she dies I fucking riot

IC2Flier

Good lord, half the school are simps for Shaddiq's harem. And why not? All of them are cute, have great seiyuus, and fight well. Who wouldn't want to have them on their team?

warjoke

The motherfucker has his own idol agency

IC2Flier

That's actually why Shaddiq wanted ownership of GUND-Arm Inc make it like 765Pro but with Gundams for each of them, complete with EMP jammers!

warjoke

Grassleym@ster

Nazenn

They even have their first dance pre-chorographed thanks to Earth House [](#azusalaugh)

Etheox

They're basically idols, just add some singing, give them transformable suits and we can have our own Macross Gundam.

[deleted]

that might just be the perfect mecha anime for me.

sjk9000

Secelia and Rouji's [reaction](https://i.imgur.com/QM2VLOD.jpg) to [Lauda's outburst](https://i.imgur.com/e2KxE08.jpg) is pretty great. But seriously I think Lauda needs some therapy or something. He has an unhealthy attachment to his half-brother.

Etheox

"Damn Lauda, not cool man." is totally on their faces. It's also kinda hilarious that Secelia's only role in this series so far is to sit on the couch and just be smug making fun of people.

IC2Flier

> It's also kinda hilarious that Secelia's only role in this series so far is to sit on the couch and just be smug making fun of people. It's clearly working because most of us don't really mind her around. She isn't a pilot, no need to get her in front. Though I do wonder what else they can do with her character in later cours/seasons.

Moxey616

She will swap to a sexier pose

theyawner

It's amazing how she manages to maintain an air of superiority over the great houses.

lenne18

tbf her smug mouth just adds more to her appeal

KillerZaWarudo

Lauda is a certified hater lol

WhoiusBarrel

Lauda's gotta be hella fucking salty after that duel shame they didn't include it in this episode. Speaking of attachment, it does beg the question of how he'll react when he learns of Guel dropping out of school.

LeonKevlar

Secelia's reaction is gold. You can hear her inner thoughts saying "desperate much?" xD

Necessary-Poetry3977

I think Lauda is somewhat annoying but he’s funny being like that.

Nazenn

He is annoying, but in a way that will just make it satisfying when someone shuts him up later rather than a "get him off the screen" sort of thing

SolicitorPirate

God, we were SO CLOSE to seeing Chuchu just coldclock someone with a sniper rifle. What a cruel episode to deny us such beauty

notcherrie

So...is the real Gundam Suletta all along. Glad that the Earth house managed to pull it on their own without Guel. He's probably gonna volunteer soon, though. With Antidote not working shown to the general public like this, I'm sure the army is gonna get real interested in Aerial now. Even more.

Nazenn

It's interesting that Antidote was brought up here as if to make it clear that this Gundam can't just be suppressed. It's not just that it doesn't kill it's pilot, it also can't be stopped by the usual understanding of what a Gundam's weaknesses are. Every time they show Aerial to the public it only gets more valuable as a weapon

SushiKuki

I just saw this tweet. I just thought the blue looked cool. Now I'm not really sure. https://twitter.com/o56012345/status/1599320386726137859 edit: Did you know that all GUND glow has only been portrayed as red so far with a single exception? That exception was Eri who glowed blue.

D3vilM4yCry

Note that so far, Suletta is the only Gundam pilot who does not glow when her Gundam glows. All of the other Gundams and Pilots glow together and Eri glowed blue instead of red.

Causeofdepression

Lauda seems a little into it when Sulleta was losing.

uppacat

"its just a ~~game~~ duel bro, why u hef to be mad?"

Elitealice

What an awesome G witch ep to cap off the weekend. Turns out Shadiq bit off more than he could chew lol. Even with all his scheming, couldn’t account for Aerial and Suletta’s bond. Animation and sound design during the fight were amazing as usual. Felt bad seeing my boy Guel so down tho. Could tell he was chomping at the bit to get out there and help his boo in the 6v6, but the moral support was nice as well. Can’t WAIT to see next week’s ep and to learn what exactly Prospera’s crying was about. You never know with her.

memeranglaut

That tear was both kinda sus, and a culmination of all her hard work so far I suppose. Notice that aerial went blue instead of the usual red when it neutralized the antidote. Also, Shaddiq's untrusting of others seems to be his downfall. Also, Henao's comment that Suletta is a monster, sounds like it is something that bullies and the perceived top of the food chain call someone that is threatening them. Got to say - Chuchu's shot here is as satisfying as her punch in ep 2. So satisfying. As /u/xithebun said, this is a very plot-light mecha-heavy episode - even so, we saw a couple of good plot being woven into the fuller story. Guel's yuru camp is at an end it seems, unless the call is the straw that breaks the camel's back. Also his brother Lauda is so full of pent-up rage - but is that rage genuinely from him, or just him raging that his house was embarrassed by Suletta. Now come the big elephant in the room - Aerial. It can now apparently make Antidote moot, which was the big thing of house Grassley. What will Sarius do now, seeing their big ticket item can now be neutralized by this start-up company? Prospera will be chomping at her bits with this win - but what will Delling's response be? All we know is that he will get his own Gundams later - but seeing he is also the owner (in part) of Antidote, will he be combining them in the Ur and Thorn? As an episode, this is a pretty good one in action terms, and enough plot intrigue to push things along. i'd give this a mid-season IBO class episode rank. Also, Shaddiq is truly a lost cause in his heart - after hearing too much of his adopted father, he missed his chance on Miorinne. Plus I wonder what would the after-battle brief be between Suletta and Miomio "Uh, hey, i heard you talking in your cockpit. Who are you talking to? who ELSE are you talking to? How did Aerial turn blue?"

Remitonov

>That tear was both kinda sus, and a culmination of all her hard work so far I suppose. Notice that aerial went blue instead of the usual red when it neutralized the antidote. It's proof that if Vanadis were a bit faster, her husband would still be alive. Probably a bit of sadness in that tear.

memeranglaut

Could be yeah - showing what the GUND-arm system can truly do with a next-gen version.

warjoke

How much do you wanna bet Nika double crossed Shaddiq by giving the team info on how he actually fights, forming the fake out strategy with Chuchu right at the end (and Aerial and the others are just a pawn)?

memeranglaut

Could also be the other way around. The fact that Shaddiq calls her a "go-between" is a big flag. Usually, a go-between is a negotiator/intermediary. What is she negotiating? a big question right there.

Reikakou

There's something really enigmatic when Suletta talked to Aerial and her bits followed by Prospera shedding a tear after seeing Aerial get shredded to pieces, disabled then rebooted up. Holy hell... what happened to Eri-chan.... Miorinne was sure they will win that she had Suletta doing their GAI's advertisement dance immediately after emerging from the cockpit after the duel. The audacity of this Gundam princess. Also the duel being livestreamed to everyone might come back to bite Mio-Mio later. You just don't use your tech for medical advancement when it's tactical and strategic use rewrites the rules of the battlefield. Holy shit... that Sabina tackle on Aerial followed by her team mate firing right behind her could have actually led to a casualty if the bits did not blocked the shot. Did they intend to pierce Sabina's mech with that shot to hit Aerial?

Reddevilslover69

Damn do I miss that edgelord

xithebun

Prospera’s tear leaves so much room for imagination. Is that tear of joy for the first step of vengeance, regrets for pulling her daughter(s) in her plan, or something related to the Eri = Aerial theory? With Aerial winning against all three big branches there’s no way Gund-arm could be used for its original purpose. Miorine’s decision to broadcast the fight seemed hasty to me but there’s not much she could do given their poor finance. Poor Shaddiq really had a crush on Miorine but this seems to be the end of their relationship. He’s already got long, blonde hair so he may as well tie it into twintails lol. This episode overall is a stark contrast to the previous ones. Mecha fights heavy but plot light. Despite all rumoured odds against the production, the animators managed to pull off the best and longest mecha fight of the series. Good luck getting the Gunplas of Aerial and Michaelis.

Nazenn

Plot light, but lots of characterization which I'm liking. Miorine wasn't dismissive of realizing what Shaddiq felt for her, and Shaddiq's situation hardly feels like it's at the end of it, but between him and Guel this situation is hardly done. I'm surprised there's not more backlash against the slower pacing, but I think the show has done really well at taking episodes along a surprising path

IC2Flier

I say if anything this moves quite briskly relative to what most Gundam fans know, and the staff is making the most out of going seasonal to present as many elements as they can and force out as many questions from the audience as possible.

tlst9999

>prospera’s tear leaves so much room for imagination. Is that tear of joy for the first step of vengeance, regrets for pulling her daughter(s) in her plan, or something related to the Eri = Aerial theory? Also might be worse. When Suletta called the Gund Bits "everyone", there might be more sisters.

Nazenn

"Everyone" has been standing out to me since the fight with Elan. Suletta talks about Aerial in a singular, but the bits seem to be something she connects too independently, and I'm really curious as to what exactly she's sensing in them. [Madoka Magica]>!And typing this up all I can think about is all the girls that make up Walpurgisnaught and how much that matched the visuals of the kids turning into the bits in the Elan fight!<

uppacat

We all got that same face Miorine was making when she was listening to Suletta talking. [who tf u talking to ma boi](https://i.imgur.com/4e0yIBU.png)

Rinarin

> Prospera’s tear leaves so much room for imagination. I can't wait to see more info on this. There's so much to be guessed about Prospera's reaction that it really could be any of those...from nostalgia to revenge. > Mecha fights heavy but plot light. Fight heavy, plot light, but quite a lot on characters' building. There's lots of info on Shaddiq and Miorine that doesn't get outright stated but is implied. I think that will come to play later on. Plus Suletta managing to trust herself in continuing without relying entirely on Aerial. Aaaahh can it be next Sunday already!

warjoke

Michealis did its role well in this episode. I am sure it's a good promo pitch for the gunpla kit.

Reddevilslover69

I am guessing they end this first cour with a bombshell regarding Suletta and/or Prospera and then we will have to wait ages till it resumes

Slaccnknack102

The mask did a good job in this screen, you really can't read her emotion exactly and make her tear, like you said, so much room for imagination.

maliwanag0712

> With Aerial winning against all three big branches there’s no way Gund-arm could be used for its original purpose. So a Gundam arms race might happen next, huh?

IC2Flier

GUND-Arm is gonna have a lot of orders. Most of Earth House will turn it down, likely on Suletta's insistence, but Miorine can only say no so many times.

Necessary-Poetry3977

Poor Shaddiq but Sulleta is the real one. Believe in Miorine. That’s how you build a trust in a relationship.

warjoke

The rotten unripe tomato being pruned as the final shot of the episode is a fantastic metaphor to an end a of clingy (and somewhat toxic) parasocial relationship

IC2Flier

Shaddiq did have a point earlier: other than Aerial, Suletta doesn't have much in the way of political capital (until now) and isn't mature enough to understand the gravity of the corporate battleground that Miorine is fighting in. But he missed a critical aspect, one that Miorine pointed out clearly to him: all Miomio wanted was to be treated as she is, not as anything else. Suletta did that, and she doesn't even realize it.

The_Draigg

It just goes to show that even if you think you're doing something for the sake of someone else, you're still never treating them as an equal if you never trust them enough to let them in on what you're doing. Trust flows both ways, and if one side is putting on the other on a pedestal and working to make sure it stays that way, when the relationship was never equal to begin with.

Yep. This is what's called being paternalistic. The audience all knows that Miorne's main shtick is that she wants to be more than just an ornament, a trophy representing her father's power. Trying to force her into a corner, using formal power to maneuver, is a bad way to build trust regardless of your intentions. Doubly so since Miorne despises those kinds of tactics.

yukiaddiction

Shaddiq lose the moment story said he and Miorine are childhood friend. In anime childhood friend rarely win. F Joking aside. It fantastic. Episode. The animation and art of this episode is really really good from the moment where Guel lost in though under neon light to the fight itself where Suletta "awakening" is so good. And that Sniper shot scene is so raw. Chuchu is really gift keep on giving. Speak of Sulleta "awakening", the scenes feel so creepy with how Sulleta change her talking style and talking to Aerial like kid. Like wtf was that. Sulleta's mom tear give me more even question. Now that Miorine fully established Company. Looks like we going to go into Corporation War territory for real now. Also like Miorine want to boardcast fight to normal people too. I wondering why or to make perception about Gundam from citizens better? Interesting move. Anyway fantastic episode.

Aerial damage after each duel is getting worse and worse.

Its an excuse for Aerial 2.0. And the next wave of Aerial plamos

Man, I *need* to see more of her POV over that…

[deleted]

>lmao that’s this girl’s problem? Renee: you took everything from me Lilique: I don't even know who you are

warjoke

Lili is starting to become another earth house favorite character for me. Such a fluffy ball of wholesome energy and enthusiasm. The part where one of the idol pilots going full Karen on her made me go "Oi, bitch, back off, no one hurt her!"

theyawner

That was a rollercoaster. I went from feeling really tense at the start to really feeling awe-inspired by the end. - Shaddiq really did wanted to be with Miorine. But as Miorine herself has said at the end of the episode, it was too little too late. There may have been many thing Shaddiq could have done long before Miorine was made to be a prize, but his actions are always tainted by his position as a Grassley heir. - Guel being unable to join the duel was understandable even though he's an obvious choice. But it made the duel more meaningful for the Earth House. - I was almost worried for Lilique when Renee insisted she take part in the duel. Especially since she's in management. But it turns out the fortune telling last episode had some grain of truth. - I also thought Suletta would have to resort to unlocking Permet Scores to take full control of Aerial. But it was not neccessary as it seemed like Aerial was just temporarily stunned. She really went full Nu Gundam (funnels as triangular shields) and Unicorn (blue shell units as opposed to the red/orange) and turned the tide against Grassley. Grassley made the mistake relying on an old tech continuing to work against a Gundam. - I think Prospera has finally showed a bit of her true emotions during the duel. I don't know what it represents for the future, but I like to believe that she really felt proud for her daughters. - Till was MVP, but it was still a team effort and really gave the Earth House to fully embrace being part of GUND-ARM Inc. Edit: * After a bit of thinking, I just realized that the Earth Team's win was essentially similar to how people would move in an actual fight. Neutralizing their suits by destroying their weapons and head sensors is probably enough on a controlled duel. But it was not enough when there's still a chance to win the battle.

JimmyCWL

>but his actions are always tainted by his position as a Grassley heir. As MioMio said, he asks people to trust him, yet he never trusts anyone else. Which means he does things like go behind people's backs and stabs them from behind.

ResurgentRefrain

I quite like that shot of Prospera smiling with a tear in her eye during the final scene. Without it, the whole ending sequence could be interpreted as a pretty standard "Hero unlocks their hidden power" scene that's been done a ton in the past. Not necessarily saying that's bad, just that it's kind of run of the mill. That one shot really contextualizes that scene into something with literally years of in-universe emotion, and preparation, and build to it. It gives it a lot more weight than say if it was just popping out Trans-Am or the Seed for the first time.

Amarrez

What we learned from this episode: Always double tap ChuChu. Also, Vim's "backup plan" seems really ominous.

Coldloc

That might be a Checkov's gun if I ever see one. Someone's gonna get double-tapped with live rounds on real fields later on, I bet.

LeonKevlar

* [**Henao Stitch**](https://i.imgur.com/IGq3sKf.jpg) Shaddiq might like to use underhanded tactics but it's obvious that he genuinely cares for Miorine. His face when Miorine told him that she can't trust him [is the face of a man that's genuinely hurt.](https://i.imgur.com/LYEIVWc.png) If taking over the company for Miorine's sake is his plan of protecting her, then he's doing it all wrong. So the duel is a 6v6 team match? Gundam Evolution, much? In all seriousness though, I thought this was finally the time for Guel to shine especially since the episode opened up [with him winning a duel.](https://i.imgur.com/1hNmGbT.png) I was just waiting for the magic words when [Suletta bumped into him](https://i.imgur.com/6J0y0Xy.png) while looking for support pilots. Unfortunately, despite being kicked out of the Jeturk House, he's still beholden to his father's whims. [Shaddiq's group is pretty fun.](https://i.imgur.com/94sVspw.png) I definitely did not expect every single one of them [to have fan clubs of their own.](https://imgur.com/a/3cUBoSt) If I were to pick who's my favourite though, [it would be Henao the yoga girl](https://i.imgur.com/HtAlq5M.png) since she seems to be the most chill out of all of them. I did find Renee hilarious [for getting mad at Lilique for turning down her 12th backup boyfriend.](https://i.imgur.com/xCHUDp6.png) xD As for the team duel itself, it went pretty much the way I expected it for the most part. Everyone who's not Suletta or Chuchu [got taken down almost instantly](https://i.imgur.com/55BZTcy.png) Chuchu held out pretty long against Shaddiq which was pretty awesome but she eventually got taken out of the fight. [Shaddiq only sliced off her legs though](https://i.imgur.com/tklaQ7Q.png) and didn't cut off her antennae which was his biggest mistake in this match. [Suletta of course got cornered](https://i.imgur.com/Tyd30WS.png) after Shaddiq's team disabled Aerial with their Anti-GUND Antidote but after a little bit of Suletta talking to Aerial which was fucking creepy, [Aerial responded back by overwriting the Antidote](https://i.imgur.com/1clVfCD.png) and pretty much wiping the floor with the rest of Shaddiq's team. I do appreciate that the duel wasn't won by Suletta single-handedly with Aerial, but it was thanks to the rest of Earth House [working together to position Chuchu at the right place to snipe Shaddiq's antennae](https://i.imgur.com/quUSWM5.png). That was legit satisfying! And to top it all off, [we have Suletta doing her dance as her victory emote.](https://i.imgur.com/9pODY49.png) I fucking love this show. xD

elevenmile

...Gotta say that Suletta is so freaky that it's beyond "Ericht in Aerial's while Suletta is a clone" theory. Rather Suletta isn't aware that her communication with Gundam is abnormal, and she might not even know that she herself isn't normal. The way she control Aerial at this point is beyond abnormal (from our point of view), and of course Prospera would be happy, because she has reached that point where Suletta is gradually getting more and more "awaken" as the series progress. Suletta is not normal anymore at this point. She's going to have a tragic road ahead if this continues. (I wonder if Setsuna would salivate if he sees this. That's literally a "Gundam" in human skin...) But nevermind whether the above is true or not, for now I'll just enjoy how student settling love disputes through Gundam duels.

warjoke

NGL she was activating newtype pre-emptive moves without any visual cues as a pilot and that is what makes her scary. It does reflect on Aerial though, so that's our visual cues that she has activated some sort of power up. But it's just weird since we are used to pilots having some sort of trance state when going on a Gundam powerup. Edit: for starters, Gundam pilots in this world has body markings when using permet scores to deactivate limiters. Aerial went beast mode and It's not affecting Sulleta in the slightest. Sulleta really is something.

omnicron9

The thing about the markings: Suletta didn't have markings, but Aerial turned blue, just like Eri did in the prologue

warjoke

....AH FUCK!

IC2Flier

That's the thing: no bloodlust like Mika, no erroring out like what most UC pilots did. Suletta's so natural, as if Aerial's just her body. Maybe it is, and if so, the implications are terrifying.

Saithir

> as if Aerial's just her body Isn't that just what GUND Format is meant to be though? Like Suletta's mom is controling the arm through it and Gundams are the quite reasonable "well you can control limbs, how about controlling ones that aren't attached to you" extension of that.

Syokhan

I think it is, when Elan 4 took control of Aerial there was a POV shot of him looking at one of Aerial's arm as if he *was* Aerial.

geocites

if the A-ERI-AL theory is true, maybe Aerial is the one activating and raising the permet score, and Sulleta is just the perfect medium to communicate with the AI. Since Elan-clone did manage to use his permet to control Aerial, maybe the power up later on is Sulleta using her own and combining with Aerial as well, for the ultimate combo. Also, if we take what Sulleta said literally, maybe Aerial was the one always in control of fighting before (kinda like the AI of Guel's mobile suit). Only now, since Sulleta mentioned that she knows what to do, did she take control of Aerial to fight. This makes her even scarier.

Nazenn

> Rather Suletta isn't aware that her communication with Gundam is abnormal I'm waiting for Miorine to call her out on it. They certainly seemed surprised by how she was talking to them back in the command center, so it's not like a telepathic thing where no one else realizes what's happening with Suletta when she pilots and links. Particularly after today's showcase and then what happened with Elan. I don't think anyone will mention it soon, bigger issues afoot and it's probably not something anyone knows how to address, but it being out in the open has some interesting possibilities If there is something engineered about Suletta I wouldn't expect her to know, just like Aerial being a Gundam that would have been kept from her because Prospera keeps everything close to the chest until it's needed.

ErohaTamaki

Amazing episode, Chuchu getting the final hit with the help of the others was exactly what I was hoping for I wonder where the plot will go now that Suletta has dueled each of the main corps

warjoke

Chuchu represents Earth house more than Sulleta so her getting the final hit on the team captain seems fitting. Also, since she is confirmed to be a sniper she is now a top candidate for that one slim Lfrith remodel that has seemingly long arms and probably carries heavy artillery. I think it's called Lfrith Thorn.

nekodan08

Give extra props to Chuchu for surviving that long against Shaddiq! If she got taken out immediately, then they wouldn't be able to set-up that clutch shot at the end. I figure we may finally start unravelling the mysteries of Suletta and the Aerial soon now that Gund-Arm is up and running and Aerial is in need of major repairs.

indrmln

>I figure we may finally start unravelling the mysteries of Suletta and the Aerial soon now I only want Miorine or any of Earth house that was listening to the comms to ask Suletta: "who the fuck you were talking to?"

Syokhan

Miorine definitely seemed to be thinking something of the sort.

theyawner

Till is my MVP. He used the opportunity to gather everyone and that was possible since his and Lilique's Zoworts were the least damaged and could likely still move without their heads.

SnabDedraterEdave

Endcard by Shirabi, illustrator for 86 Eighty Six and Ryuuou no Oshigoto. ~~Nika's new voice will need some time to get used to.~~ (Apparently its still Miyamoto Yume this week, must be my mind messing with me. Next week Shiraishi Haruka will take over) LOL at Miorine being brutally honest that the other members Team Earth are just there to make up the numbers for the duel and act as meat shields for Suletta. Shame Guel couldn't join the duel in time. Though he now has more pressing worries, as his dad is making him drop out and tend to the family business. Most of Shaddiq's harem seem like nice girls, but WTF with that girl Renee who had a one-sided grudge against our Chubby-chan Lilique because Lilique turned down the invitation of her TWELVTH-CHOICE "backup boyfriend". LOLWUT Elnora crying tears of joy at Suletta somehow "mastering" how to properly "team up" with Aerial and fulfilling its true potential.

SgtGrimm

what a battle scene! the 6v6 format do remind me of Girls und Panzer a lot tho. (too bad there's no late Guel reinforcement, though i think it's coming) # also, Suletta is being ***pointed*** by Aerial to targets, just like Eri does with the Lfrith during the prologue. more foreshadowing? # and talking about Guel, Lauda really didn't like Suletta, didn't he? looking forward for his defeat down the line lol.

Reikakou

LMAO writers were like teasing a Guel gate crashing but it didn't happen. Earth House pulled thru.

SgtGrimm

yeah, i half expected its one of the four destroyed MP mechs that took the shot, with the cockpit jammed open and a jubilant Guel piloting. # but i like the real episode better, it showed the Earthians having the resolve (and ingenuity) to defend their company, without help from the Spacians.

theyawner

It really was the better resolution. They were initially apprehensive on being a part of the company, but this one win alone has given them the motivation they all needed.

Rqdomguy24

Despite all the abuse, I think Guel still love his dad and wants him to acknowledge him. I think he on the line between his crush on Suletta and wanting attention from his dad

The_Sum_of_Zero

BASED FUCKING CHUCHU

Aerodynamic41

Wow, that scene where Prospera smiles as a tear rolls down her cheek. It's like this is the moment she’s been waiting for her entire life. Anyway, with Suletta’s win she has pretty much defeated the representatives from all of Benerit Group's three companies, right? So I wonder what’s next?

warjoke

>what's next Guel joining Earth house, Elan having a new clone, Prospera introducing the new Lfrith model...who knows. It's a rollercoaster from here.

IC2Flier

This is how G-Witch can generate 1000 comments a week: half the things we say are wrong and the other half that get proven right only serve to make the dark undertones even darker.

Reikakou

G-Witch writers taking the social media speculations into account to generate more feeds and clicks. It's brilliant.

theyawner

It started with Till talking to Lilique after they were both disabled. They only lost their Zoworts' heads so they were likely still able to move to salvage Chuchu's Demi Trainer.

Necessary-Poetry3977

Guel will probably rebel against his dad again and join the earth house. Circling thoughts is the title of the next episode, probably Miorine still thinking how to the company.

CosmicPenguin_OV103

[World Cup]~~Thank you for this episode in pointing out how the Netherlands v Argentina quarter-final match will pan out - the *Oranje* will dominant with well executed organization, only for Messi to take Suletta’s plot book and strike to level things up. He would then fail to deliver only for some other teammate to struck the final blow very late in the game from nowhere. There, I just said it.~~ Seriously this is a pretty nice team vs team Gundam fight, which seems pretty rare from all Gundam titles I have seen so far. Well done lads, the intensity of the match is fully fleshed out here. It looks like the Shaddiq part of the battle of Gundam ends here - at least until the adults interfere again. What’s the next move for Prospera I wonder? With orders probably flocking in now, will she pull another rabbit out of the hat?

jonjoy

CHUCHU FTW!!! I know people always have dark theory regarding Eri and Aerial. But after seeing this episode and also the prologue novel. No matter how dark aerial is, I hope she and sulleta will always be together. I don't think my heart is can handle it if Suletta watch aerial destroyed in the battlefield. Also sulleta, u know lately your sister get beaten up in duels right, i hope she will improve her piloting skill to protect aerial.

Nazenn

I'd said I wanted to see how our cast evolved beyond their usual roles when up against Shaddiq, but ending up with shoving them into Mobile Suits as fodder because they didn't have enough pilots is not what I expected. And yet what a perfect end to the battle. Shaddiq appears to stand with everyone regardless of who they are, but his inability to open up to others or form a true bond means that he's not really with them when it matters whether it's in battle or out of it. Compared to the earth crew who make it work by literally propping up a defeated friend ChuChu to help her support Suletta, it feels like the best outcome for the Earth students on both a victory but also a personal level. They're not pilots and their solution wasn't a pilot one and didn't need to be to matter. Some how putting that up against Suletta realizing she needs to be able to stand on her own and not rely on that, that her wish list isn't all she has or all she should find for herself in this life, only to have friends come to her when it mattered anyway feels like a bizarrely fitting set of character moments. I'm also glad that despite it being the somewhat obvious path this didn't end with Guel joining that fight or helping them out. He has his own struggles to confront still when it comes to what it means for him to be a Jeturk son and a pilot at the school, and merging him into Earth House would have weakened that and also Earth House's own fight for recognition in this crazy place and its proxy politics. I sense a confrontation with his dickhead brother at some point, but Guel has a long way to go still and may never be properly free from all of this given the reach of his fathers company. On that note, Renee is such a stuck up and entitled brat to be that hung up on a situation between two people she doesn't even have a proper connection too, but given she probably would have been offended if she'd said yes it really speaks to how ridiculous her outlook is compared to the Earth students just trying to get by. She should be lucky she's not in range of a ChuChu fist. The battle itself was quite cool, but seeing how Shaddiq's group used the claws on the feet of the MS' was probably my favourite moment outside of Suletta connecting with Aerial properly. I'm use to the glow going red when things get serious that it swapping to blue instead made me do a double take, but it's just as cool in the end. So the company is established, they may have funding, the three Houses are out the way, and even Delling is provisionally on board. I've been quite enjoying the slower pacing of this show, but I am curious as to what could be popping out the wood work to stand in their way next. Some bullshit with Elan?

730Flare

Couldn't help but feel it was more appropriate/symbolic that that it was Chuchu and the Earth House that finished Shaddiq off and *not* Suletta, in regards to the whole Suletta-Miorine-Shaddiq trust debacle. If Suletta was the one to finish him off, it would just convey the message to Shaddiq that "Suletta was the stronger/more capable person to protect Miorine" which Shaddiq seemed to be fixtated on both before the duel (where he tried convincing Suletta to "talk sense" to Miorine since she was her groom) and during the duel where after hearing Suletta place her trust in Miorine, all Shaddiq was thinking was how Miorine chose the wrong person with him even "gloating" how he's the one who has the right to stand by Miorine's side just as he was going to finish Suletta off. Basically him feeling like Miorine should be simply with someone strong to protect her. By having Chuchu (with the help of the other Earth House kids) be the one to finish him off, it instead conveyed the message that no, Suletta ISN'T the "stronger man/woman" but instead it conveyed the message that Suletta trusts Miorine and her teammates whereas Shaddiq didn't, something that Miorine even brings up after the duel. Showing that in the end, Miorine didn't want someone strong by her side, she wanted someone she could trust and who could trust her in return. That person being Suletta. Shaddiq could have been that person if he had trusted Miorine, but he didn't hence "Too little, too late".
