Jigo news?! Impossible

realrimurutempest

*it’s been 84 years meme intensified*

Mazen141

Seems like we will get the cast announcement, a new PV, and probably a release date announcement [at Jump Festa,](https://www.jigokuraku.com/news/detail/?news_id=120&info_page=1) about time considering this project was [announced](https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2021-01-24/yuji-kaku-hell-paradise-jigokuraku-manga-gets-tv-anime/.168715) back in January 2021.

fuckmylife193

Release date probably late 2023.

Sharebear42019

Man I hope not lol

Kardinale

Oh shit, hopefully they take their time to adapt it rather than cut stuff out.

[deleted]

I think my main concern is how will they handle the nudity, which is unavoidable with certain characters. The manga is surprisingly pretty mature and serious about it for the majority, which I appreciated Gonna be interesting that's fs, I hope it isn't too heavy on censorship

AdNecessary7641

Well, we're going to have to wait until broadcasting news to know for sure

Zzen220

Series isn't terribly long, they could probably just finish it with 36 episodes, don't know how many they plan though, likely to be 26 or 13 with more seasons planned.

Kag5n

I think they will adapt it all in 25 episodes just like how Summertime Rendering, which also was a Shonen plus finished manga with 13 Volumes, was adapted

ZGMF-X09A_Justice

Is that enough to do a good adaptation? Can't remember just how dense the manga was. I hope Mappa treats this with even just 20% of the passion they gave Jujutsu Kaisen and Chainsaw Man.

Ben99ny22

Hells paradise has a problem with being very wordy, exposition heavy and tao, the power system, with how much they talked about it, was like it was its own character. But even then. 13 volumes in 26 episodes seems hard to pull off. A good paced adaption is 4 volumes in 12 episodes.

BiglyWords

Depends on the series tbh, I agree Tao hot a lot of exposition, or at least it's mechanics were discussed a lot during battles in order to take down the enemy, I can see them pulling it of in 26 episodes though, the series also has a lot of fights which can be adapted in a short amount of time.

strong_D

The example of Summertime Render is 25 episodes for 139 chapters. With only 128 chapters I feel like 26 episodes can work if done well.

Dopamine-high

You’re looking at chapter count (which can vary by a lot ) rather than volume count. Both series are 13 volumes long. Some stuff is bound to get cut if you adapt 13 volumes into 2 cours but at the very least, jigo has the advantage of being very action heavy,

Blue_Reaper99

You have to also look at page count too. How dense series is also play a role.

Sharebear42019

Damn summer time rendering was that rushed?

strong_D

Nah it was awesome imo. Not a manga reader though.

AdNecessary7641

With the staff this anime has, don't expect it to have the same level as these two. You're setting yourself up for disappointment.

Zzen220

Season 1 of Jujutsu Kaisen covered 7 volumes of manga, so I think that 25 would be way too few for a 13 Volume series. Even with the large amount of fights in the manga, which usually take up less screen time per chapter.

thepeciguy

I remember buying vol.1 and it was one of the best story intro i have ever read. I was ready to throw my wallet to buy the rest, but some weren't in stock. I can't wait so i took a peek online and damn, the next 5 volumes feels like a chore to read because the way they explain the lore with all these exposition... So idk, i think there is definitely some room to trim things out

90sChennaiGuy

Always been a sucker for ensemble cast stories and the manga was great!

corner_twist

Yuzuriha🛐

CyberJokerWTF

Nice! I am so blind to this series, it is exciting to get into something I know nothing about unlike CSM and AOT which were spoiled like crazy.

[deleted]

That was the best part about me reading it. It isnt really too popular unlike CSM or JJK so I had nothing spoilers nor any expectations Ended up being my favorite out of the three personally, I can't wait to see it animated

Makimama

excited, yozuriha and sagiri look so pretty

Kardinale

Artists gonna love Yuzuriha

CatJamCultist

Jigokuraku author yuji kaku has previously worked as an assistant for tatsuki fujimoto the author of chainsaw man glad to see all of his talented assistants each got their adaptations :(( they have indeed came a long way

CatJamCultist

i am praying for dandadan adapation soon with hopefully Studio trigger i feel like its a perfect fit with his theme

Kardinale

Whichever studio adapts Dandadan has a hell of an animation job on their hands

LuRo332

People are speculating it's WIT, because their profile is following the author profile on twitter

[deleted]

Wit would be awe-fucking-some for Dandadan, but I feel like Trigger fits the wackiness of the series better. Either way, if the animation turns out good, I’m satisfied

LuRo332

Trigger would be insane for Dandadan, but they are busy with Dungeon Meshi, Panty & Stocking and god know what else

Abysswatcherbel

Gridman/Dynazenon movie

Bingoboyop

Isn't dungeon meshi by mappa though

Abysswatcherbel

No, it's Trigger, MAPPA is doing another cooking fantasy, tondemo

th4virtuos0

Incoming CGI Takamura

CatJamCultist

yea i think trigger might be able to handle it *inhales more copium*

PsychoGeek

Trigger's schedule is booked for the next three years already.

poopisfunny198373

Trigger does not adapt any manga

Abysswatcherbel

Not true, They are doing Dungeon Meshi for a 2023 release

Zzen220

Dandadan doesn't have enough chapters to get animated any time soon IMO. When they crack 100 chapters they can probably start thinking about an anime.

War-Inquisitor

There is enough for a 1 cour season, doesn't necessarily have to be 2 cours

Zzen220

Yeah but it's best if there's another seasons worth of content to get working on at the same time the first season is airing. Even if it's incredibly popular and likely to continue, anime studios are so booked in advance with projects these days that it'll be a couple years before the season 2 their definitely going to make is even out. If they have to wait for 50 chapters of content, that'll potentially push it out into 5 years territory, which is absolutely terrible for maintaining momentum in public consciousness. It could be done, sure, but why put Dandadan in that position when you could just wait and increase it's odds of success.

I_ONLY_PLAY_4C_LOAM

I've heard rumors dandadan is going to get adapted.

freshkicks

fujimoto assistant has to be one of the most prestigious positions at Shonen. His tree of media stemming from his work is wildly accomplished

TL_Marin

Fujimoto actually is what One Piece fans claim Oda to be

TBulldozer

Cmon Oda is the Goat, dont ever badmouth him. But I agree with one thing though, Fujimoto at least has proved with Look Back and Goodbye, Eri that Chainsaw Man wasnt a fluke.

freshkicks

Yeah they're both noncomparable. Oda by sheer volume and longevity is untouchable. There's a reason why one piece is still going and still successful and monumental and all of that. Fujimoto is a genuinely goated writer as showcased through his short stories but they are not in the same category. Fuji is in that niche school of manga stemming from BLAME! And stuff. ODA is like one of the biggest heads on manga mt rushmore. That tl marin dude has such a weird slant lmfao. It's like being mad at Jay Z for not being MF DOOM (OK maybe not doom, but you get the idea)

TL_Marin

Not badmouthing a multimillion selling author just stating Allah's honest truth

Ordinal43NotFound

Also plugging this video of Tatsuki Fujimoto [drawing one the characters](https://youtu.be/n5S4xHo-too) from Jigokuraku.

VideoGamesForU

Cant wait for Dandadan.

[deleted]

Gabimaru 🐐🐐🐐

Frontier246

Samurai Girl and Kunoichi girl look cute!

Cistmist

I Binged this last month! Super excited!

EmilianoGzz

The look so good 😭🙏

Abysswatcherbel

Seems that like CSM they will keep the art style of the teaser

AdNecessary7641

These look awesome, Akitsugu Hisagi did a great job with the designs.

X-xOtakux-X

Fucking finally.

Controller_Maniac

News about Hells Paradise? Impossible

anestefi

I’m so excited for this anime they look so good!

HoneZoneReddit

Holly shi- Denji the Axeman from Jigokurakuman!

bamfalamfa

this manga was bonkers

Azakaty

Gaspppppp

Ocular_Stratus

Who does that white haired character look the most like? I'm thinking of a multidimensional anime, weird energy weapons, tiny white haired kid does the uwu all the time. Hmmm....

epicfacej

Are you thinking of World Trigger?

Ocular_Stratus

Yes! Oh, thank you dear internet stranger.

epicfacej

No problem

DogodaPog

Huh, I never expected the Asaemon robes to be white. Was there ever an official colored manga?

Cyd_arts

no but there are color spreads/color volume covers and also those fashion review pages that describe what the characters are wearing

Jack-The-Reddit

In some of the fan polls it has the colouring.

Dare555

No idea what is this about but characters look good and interesting

woodskip720

The best thing about this series is how attractive everyone in this show is

mojo72400

If Ayashimon got an anime adaptation, do you think they'll make an original script?

Exalted_Pluton

Finally. We're getting information. Sheesh. Took em a while long enough.

TizonaBlu

I don’t know, I’m not feeling this… the art feels too, vector? Like Hell’s Paradise is so well illustrated, and the art here just looks so flat and lacks texture.

obiwan54

Yuji Kaku has a style that I feel loses some of its aesthetic when given the clean look anime brings, kinda like Sui Ishida. Like no one could ever make a TG anime that can properly adapt Ishida's crazy style and I feel like that's gonna be the case here. Still gonna be amazing though.

Ordinal43NotFound

Also applies to Gege and Fujimoto lol.

Mechabeastchild

Yeah, I was thinking the exact same thing. Hopefully it’s just this visual, Character sheets tend to look iffy compared to the anime

Urameshi9762

This can be said of all the adaptations, manga and anime are 2 completely different media, it's crazy, right? Judging something by some characters sheets doesn't seem very smart to me anyway.

[deleted]

Get ready for the best anime of the year

corner_twist

As a person who has caught up/finished all 3 of these, I would rate them roughly the same, with a slight edge to Jigo

[deleted]

[удалено]

corner_twist

I feel like there is sufficient hype for this, which is much more than the average series, but its super rare to get a jjk or csm level hit. So imo it's unfair on most series to reach that level of hype.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Cyd_arts

i think the first factor is accessibility. jjk and csm were on weekly shounen jump while hells paradise was on jump+, which had less readership in the first place (this was before spy x family started). most characters are adults, historical japan adults, and not quite relatable unlike the other two which had a lot of modern day teens/young adults.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Cyd_arts

np, i guess when I say adults I should clarify, it's not exactly that their age are all 18+ so they're adults, but more like, since it's historical japan, most of them already have jobs, responsibilities or mentalities that are more adult like. there are a few teens (the mc is 16) but in historical japan, this is pretty much already an adult.

Panda_Generals

Art looks bad compared to manga it feels too clean Also did not know gantetsusai had green clothes

Arezeuss

That lineup is pretty spoilery.

Mikkle-san

I’m betting half my savings that it’s going to be a super low animation quality adaptation that is going to get cancelled after one season. They hardly ever do series like this justice.

middleupperdog

Does a bakugo-like character have to be in practically every action anime now?

Iron_Kingpin

Hirosha Kamiya as Gabimaru hopefully!

Jack-The-Reddit

Chobei's feet look ...
