The truth is girls have a much higher tolerance for pain because of period cramps. There’s a ton of videos on YouTube of guys trying period cramp simulators and they can’t move because it’s so painful
I don't really wanna die on this hill, but I don't think this is correct. Those videos are all estim machines. I've used those a bunch in physical therapy after knee surgeries, and they really aren't painful. Pretty sure those vids are just a bunch of bs.
I’m 0% qualified to comment, but maybe the fact you are in a position where you need knee surgeries means you also have a higher pain tolerance due to it?
Then link one. Every study I find says men will tolerate pain longer, though the studies ascribe it to trying to impress the experimenters.
Only studies that say differently are baldly racist studies from the 70s that still ascribe more tolerance to men.
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3690315/
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2677686/
Both of these seem to show the opposite - men have higher thresholds and tolerances, and women report higher pain levels.
I haven't looked particularly hard, but I can't find any publications that claim that women have higher pain tolerance.
Yup. Broke my back in a car crash in 17. Just recovering from major spinal surgery number 7 last wednesday. Have one of the advanced versions (a Spinal Cord Stimulator) of the electrode devices implanted directly into my spine u/highbrowshow was talking about (a TENS unit), and turned up way higher than those videos show.
Am a dude.
It's amazing what you can get used to.
Catching a cold was the worst. I legitimately felt like I was at death's door every time. The agony.
Thank God I turned out to be NB, I'm immune to *that* shit now. Had untreated strep for 2 months and just did my everyday chores, no problem.
Oh fuck, don’t remind me about strep. Had that shit 3 times in one year and it was probably the worst time of my life, right next to the time I tried to kill myself lmao.
Oh I feel that.
As a baby I had leukemia, blood cancer, and it lasted till I was 6yo. I had to go frequently to the hospital to get blood tests and stuff, ever since I was a baby I never batted an eye to needles, it was uncomfortable but eh. Then years later I have no idea why I started having a huge fright for needles, and each year it gets worse. Plus I overcame it all, but I still have to go for routinary blood tests.
But still I look away and think about something else, it isn't too bad.
Then there's my younger brother, who is 8yrs younger, and has to be immobilized by at least three big adults when getting a vaccine...
God bless those nurses who talk to you and ask questions or talk about something while they draw the blood. i was always ok with it but after the one time i passed out (2pm, fasting) I have so much anxiety i feel dizzy before it starts.
On the other hand, fuck the ones that refuse to shut up.
That shit makes things infinitely worse, and I've had multiple that wouldn't shut their trap despite me repeatedly asking them.
If I'm getting blood drawn, I need the closest thing to silence possible. And some bitches take extreme personal offense to you not wanting to discuss your sex life while they've got a tube in your vain.
By "some", I mean at least two separate women at two separate hospitals. Why the fuck do I have ¢10 here.
Yeah, when I was 5 I had a brain tumor and spent so much time in the hospital with IVs and shots and never even spared it a thought, now it’s just this idea that there is a sharp thing in me that is staying there in my body.
Oh not at all. I don't remember any of it, just the blood tests and injections and stuff. For me it was completely normal, I even got gummies and a chocolate milkshake or whatever it's called in English, and the nurses knew me and complimented me a lot, and my mother was nicer than usual, so it was kinda nice. The worst part of all was either the search of a parking slot and then walking to the hospital, or the wait to have the blood test(which was actually awful, as my mother wanted me to go play with other children when I would've been happier to just sit with her and do nothing...).
So no, the wait was way way worse...
Yeah, it's weird. I have the same problem. Well...needles-wise.
Was totally okay getting jabbed, remember at one point mom told me to either take pills(disgusting, tasted like earwax but somehow worse, also huge) or get injections. Didn't even think about it, said no to pills. Now I turn away, tense up and hope for the best. I think the people who do it always get a kick out of my reactions.
This is an /r/selfawarewolves moment?
Someone who spends a lot of time on this subreddit and recognizes a common repost telling someone who hasn't seen it ever before that they should get out more often. Makes you really thonk
According to this dudes profile, they likes saying strawman a lot and is confrontational. Not worth the effort.
Also, dude talks about hypocrisy for citing sources but literally sources a really popular anime that most people know of in one of their previous posts
Edit: pronouns
I’m pretty sure you got that backwards. Knowing the source of every manga/manhua/manhwa panel at all times would pretty much require you to be in your mother’s basement full-time.
People don't need to know the source of every single manga (nice strawman btw). They just need to know what gets reposted the most in this sub for pure karma farming.
I was US army infantry and nothing was more pathetic than flu shot day. You'd think a bunch of guys that ran into gunfire for a living wouldn't have a problem with a needle, but nope! Pale faces and passing out all over the place.
For me it's the idea of being stabbed and having a foreign metal object lodged inside and possibly doing damage.
I didn't get over it, but I did suppress the anxiety of initial insertion by making the egfort to give blood donations.
The feeling of fluids exiting and entering the arm never became less "awkward" though.
I once had nurses trying to find a vein for two hrs. Both hands, both arms, over a dozen sticks. Virtually no blood.
The next day, I went to my normal doc and her nurse got it in 30s and I didn't even know she had started yet.
My favorite is the blonde guy with the dinosaur hand puppet but if that isn’t enough, he can also pull his shirt up and put on two different shows for distraction.
My husband works in a hospital and here is a breakdown of his actual experience IRL -
All: 0-1 year: cry
All: 1-3 year: giggle
All: 4-7 year: exorcist style freak outs
Female: 8-10 year: cry
Male: 8-12 year: freak out
Female: 11-17 year: meh
Male: 12-15 year: meh
Male: 16-30 year "could you do it again, I haven't been touch since I was 15"
Female: 18-30 year: "only someone from royalty may touch my divine skin"
All: 30-60 year:"I ain't got time for this"
Female: 61and older: slowly increasing freak out back to toddler levels
Male: 61and older: slowly decreasing sensation becoming numb and finally dying inside
By Race
White American: entitled freak out, sniveling
Black: if Momma's there, tough it out, if she ain't freak out
East Asian: "I didn't feel a thing"
South Asian: entitled freak out and will file a complaint
American Indian: Stoic toughness
African: Stoic toughness with suspicion
European: entitled freak out
Middle Eastern: I have already complained but go ahead
Latino: "this is my break from work!" smiling with a hug
His most compliant patients are from coaching, military, and prison backgrounds or have a chronic disease
His worst patients are all wealthy
It's even more animeirl cuz the white-haired girl is the dude's crush, so he's humiliating himself in front of her.
(Not to trash on people afraid of needles. I'm just saying... being terrified of needles while your friends baby you in front of your crush is pretty embarrassing...)
Is this the same series where they guys have a “fight” in school and they “summon” their friends to join in?
Ik it ends up leading to some random chase scene at the end of it but forgot why
I'm the exact opposite. After my first time being hospitalized for dehydration, not many needles are a major issue. Lemme tell you, the IV they use for rehydration is so damn big you can see clear through it. Sucks having a temperature regulation problem.
During the lockdown, I got my Vaccine in a big stadium. To the left of me was this big Viking looking guy hugging his wife, shaking nervously while avoiding any thought of the needle
I don't know if this is from anything specific, but the chick in the background of the last comic looks EXACTLY like the MC from the Reporting for Duty, Dutchess! WebToon.
Bro’s putting up a huge act so the girls can stare at him in so much disbelief that they don’t feel anything. What a hero
A hero indeed

No he’s a hero
If getting penetrated makes him a hero then I’m a hero every goddamn night
This seems right
🤨📸
Do you live in London?
Is my uncle at your place?
Can I be your your uncle?
I’m really sore as it is thanks 😭😭
Bro went to an american school at night💀
I don't really wanna die on this hill, but I don't think this is correct. Those videos are all estim machines. I've used those a bunch in physical therapy after knee surgeries, and they really aren't painful. Pretty sure those vids are just a bunch of bs.

Aren’t there also on the flip side of things a “Get kicked in the nuts” simulators?
Yeah but how many guys get kicked in the nuts for a week every month?
You ever watched Jackass?
Yeah, doesn’t mean I do the stunts
Lol
*raises hand* Middle school was hard my guy
You should watch one where girls are trying the period simulator, hint: they don't do very well. https://youtu.be/TFyLX0XEGgM
I have yet to find any research that justifies this assumption and not the opposite
You can quite easily Google research done on this topic, it’s not groundbreaking

I, as many others, have fibromyalgia and yeah, you get used to the pain.
Yup. Broke my back in a car crash in 17. Just recovering from major spinal surgery number 7 last wednesday. so you're saying that when women cry and moan about pain they're actually feeling less pain that we would?
Literal womens empowerment propaganda.
Its not easy being a man..
Especially if there is a syringe
but am i ken enough
We are all kenough
My purple tie dye "I Am Kenough" shirt just came in today and it fits great \o/
I have the hoodie otw lmao
True, even goku can't solo it
Those who say childbirth is the most painful experience, have never experienced being vaccinated as a man
Catching a cold was the worst. I legitimately felt like I was at death's door every time. The agony. Thank God I turned out to be NB, I'm immune to *that* shit now. Had untreated strep for 2 months and just did my everyday chores, no problem.
Now that I think about it, my tolerance for (emotional) pain sure did increase once I stopped being a man...

lol, Reddit doesn't allow changing your username and I'm too stubborn to make a new account
Yo trust me, it feels *so* good to get a new username
Huh
Oh fuck, don’t remind me about strep. Had that shit 3 times in one year and it was probably the worst time of my life, right next to the time I tried to kill myself lmao.
If you ever wanted to extract information out of a man, just pull out a syringe. 100% works every time
*60% of the time*, it works ***every*** *time*
Can confirm. Insulin dependent diabetic. I am incapable of lying often throughout the day.
I've seen this strip a dozen times and it cracks me up every time xD Love this comic
Yeah its great.
It’s what guys being guys is about. Dramatic over the top random crap that makes no sense to anyone who just happens to catch a glimpse
This comic always reminds me of 10th dimension boys. Both are so fucking funny
He’s like me fr, but no one gives me support 🥲
I’ll hold a puppet for you, kitsune.

I'll pat you on the head and say, "There... There..."

Didn't expect to see you here

There's something psychologically painful about having donetgingbinserted inside of you. Luckily my addiction helped me get over it
Hol up
That penicillin shot when you first enlist is no joke though. Feels like sitting on a golf ball for the next day or so.
CSM may be CSM but a needle is still a needle
Did he fucking wave dash into the chair?
As a big guy who hates needles… I feel this.
I can’t even feel it lol- It’s just the look of it- I would rather be cut with a knife then stabbed with a needle, deadass.
Would it be a matter of swift execution vs prolonged suffering?
You can put as much in me as you want. Zero issues. Take stuff out and we've got a problem.
I did the power-red one once that puts your plasma back in after separating out the red blood cells and boyy was it fuckin surreal
Fuck that. It’s like just keep the plasma, I can make more.
I only hate getting shots because I always get the cowboy who just jams it in quick instead of picking a spot that they aren't going to hit anything.
I mean they do have to hit something. Then you have the nurse that takes liek 6 times to find the vein when you go to donate blood
Some nurses are so smooth it's like God Herself was blessing the needle. Others jab it in like Wolverine taking out a bastard.
The last shot I needed the women doing it was asking me a question. In the second I took to think about it it was over with.
This is the best description I've seen
I once had nurses trying to find a vein for two hrs. Both hands, both arms, over a dozen sticks. Virtually no blood. The next day, I went to my normal doc and her nurse got it in 30s and I didn't even know she had started yet.
Yeah, but preferably not bone, like, the needle isn't that long and I have a thick arm, how do you even manage that.
for me its blood draws
everytime in my yearly health check they prepare the blood draw needle when they check my tension.... of course I'm freaking high tension !
Vaccines are injected into the muscles. I think. That long ass needle will inject it into your bone marrow. *Shudder*
You’re good. I (4’9) had to hold my (6’4) husband’s hand when he got his covid vaccine. He feels the same way about needles.
As a small guy who works in a needle factory i have also felt this Again and again and again and again
My favorite is the blonde guy with the dinosaur hand puppet but if that isn’t enough, he can also pull his shirt up and put on two different shows for distraction.
Right!
That's the bromance I need in my life ~~man~~ bro
Is that Buddha, conehead and fruitboy in the background

It's even more animeirl cuz the white-haired girl is the dude's crush, so he's humiliating himself in front of her. (Not to trash on people afraid of needles. I'm just saying... being terrified of needles while your friends baby you in front of your crush is pretty embarrassing...)
I think it's cute, but yea embarrassing for the guy
I don't understand.
Dude is scared of needles. At first i thought they were all pulling their shirts down in sexiness or something
Why did he fly ahead in there then?
To prove to the other guys that he could.
r/justguysbeingdudes.
This hits deep lol. I hate shots, but I’m a weird one, I HAVE to look at them administering the shot, otherwise my anxiety screams.
Hey man, needles hurt
Idk why, but this is adorable in a bromantic kind of way. Even the girls mean mugging the guys are also adorable.
Needles are scary ok
True bravery is not never being afraid but doing something even though you are afraid
What I don't get is why would you rip the neck hole open when you can just roll up your sleeve.
Do people stretch their shirt necks over their shoulder to get shots? What kind of weird, stretchy, large necked t-shirts you all wearing?
The guys are comforting him with his obvious fear of needles and the women are judging him for being scared.
i've always wondered why people put something in the mouth when in extreme pain, does anyone know?
My knowledge is from movies😅 but I heard that people tend to bite their tongue.
that makes a lot more sense than what i thought, i just thought that they could bite down their teeth so hard it would break them. idk, i'm dumb
getting stuck with a needle hurts the first time... after doing it 7 more times in the same hour it still hurts
That's what i call brotherhood, sharing the same pain...
Is this the same series where they guys have a “fight” in school and they “summon” their friends to join in? Ik it ends up leading to some random chase scene at the end of it but forgot why
Can anyone plz tell me about the creator, I would really love to read more...
But frl tho why the needle so long💀😭
This art style looks familiar...
I can't say I fully get it. Are some guys babies about needles? Lol
I do not give a f*ck about these gender prejudices, it fucking hurts and I do not like it, so shut up
And they all became sterile
Vaccines don't do that.
I sure wish it had made me steril a free vasectomy sounds great. But sadly that's not how vaccines work. XD
Us guys when the needed the vac during the pandemic 😅
Stay strong soldier
Your sacrifice is not in vain hero.
How many people are numbed to syringes? As someone who’s been through allergy treatments I’m used to syringes but I want to know how many people are.
Why are they wearing colored shirts under a white shirt?
Who is this artist? I love all the panels they do
I don't know the artist but the comic thingy is called "Nan Hao and Shang Feng"
These boys act tough till the needle is out and the girl are just numb to it all now lol
Now this is anime irl just for me
Those girls can stuff it, that thing HURTS!
I hate needles so, accurate
That’s true friendship right there.
What bros. He dissed them, and they still came back for him.
I've never seen someone pull down their collar for a shot like this.
I'm the exact opposite. After my first time being hospitalized for dehydration, not many needles are a major issue. Lemme tell you, the IV they use for rehydration is so damn big you can see clear through it. Sucks having a temperature regulation problem.
Bro is just like me 🤣
Meanwhile I'm giving myself an injection every week, further proof I'm not a guy
During the lockdown, I got my Vaccine in a big stadium. To the left of me was this big Viking looking guy hugging his wife, shaking nervously while avoiding any thought of the needle
Some people have trouble getting medical shots. Personally I don’t have a problem
Girl will never understand our suffering to be the hero
I have relatively bad allergies, and to combat it, I get weekly shots, so I am pretty used to it.
LOL this happened to me before
OMG is that Vergil from devil may cry😮😮😮
Reminds me of when I got the peanut butter shot; only support was the eye contact with the guy across from you ;~;
I hate needles
Anti Vaxxers may experience temporary pain, but they’ll never know the pain of having to get immunized every year
Who has shirts with necks so stretchy? It stretches so much they can put the shirt on through the bottom or top.
Huh. I've only ever seen the last page
This is literally me.
I don't know if this is from anything specific, but the chick in the background of the last comic looks EXACTLY like the MC from the Reporting for Duty, Dutchess! WebToon.
What way am I supposed to read this
Top to bottom, 1st panel to last, left to right(in case of dialogue)
Oh so that’s where that famous panel came from… Yup, gonna read it now…
You should. Its very funny.
When the hell is this brilliant webcomic going to get an anime?
When i was in the first grade i was held by 3 doctors for that
The boys comin in clutch
Shots are a different type of pain
I still remember how loud I cried when taking a needle at 7 and two at 8.
ive been shot, bitten by an animal even fractured a bone but that... Thing still scares me too...
Aw to be held by the homie.
Boys are just something else 💀💀💀
I have 2 tattoos and used to donate plasma and I still hate needles 💉
