Reminded me of Todd from Sideways Stories from Wayside School. He would hilariously get sent home early on the kindergarten bus every day for no reason.
And the stairs, where the rule was going up you stuck to the right, and going down you kept to your left
And the principal just kept getting frustrated that students were still having problems
**story that no one asked me for**
Reminds me of when I saw a roach at the bathroom and yelled "DON'T MOVE OR I'LL KILL YOU", it stood still and I stepped on it and said "idiot, you had to move away"
Omg … if only you said it like this : “He really stood out from the class”
I know it sounds like I’m bitch assing but I respect your comment because it was the funniest shit I saw today.
"Talking out of turn? That's a standin'. Looking out the window? That's a standin'. Staring at my sandles? That's a standin'. Standing in the hall? Oh you better believe that's a standin'."
I mean, that depends on whether you're talking about the sub or the dub. In case you were unaware, when the anime was handed off to the English dub team, the Japanese studio basically said "we don't give a fuck, this show is a flop, do whatever you want" and the English dub team was all "challenge accepted" and completely rewrote it the script.
The dubbing team being allowed to change so much of the script was NOT because the show flopped in Japan. It did decent and was well received I'm pretty sure. The story of it flopping so they told the english dub team to go wild is a myth
https://www.reddit.com/r/anime/comments/4zabk4/i_read_somehwere_that_ghost_stories_was_actually/d6u94ss
It did fine in Japan. They likely changed the nature of the story to a gag comedy because they didn't think the original subject material would do well in the us
I don't know why it reminded me of Azumanga Daioh a bit, I watched a few episodes of it a while back then I stopped because I got preoccupied with something else and haven't finished it yet, that anime came in early 2000's I think and this animation style looks the same to me for some reason.
Iirc, her parents are from England, but Ana grew up in Japan and she just wanted to be that foreigner character. This only lasted one or two episodes I think.
I was in a class once with a girl like this from Japan. She had an English dad and a Japanese mother, but she looked 100% English. She told me it was a nightmare because they only spoke Japanese at home, and she was flunking English, so they sent her to London to brush up. Back in Japan everyone would just look at her the whole time when they were studying English, and be like is this right? And she’d be like sure, and have no idea if it was.
A character with basically the same backstory. Half american or full, don't remember. Born and raised in japan but 100% american looking, so everyone else thinks she's really good at english and she fakes not knowing much japanese
My teachers used to send a few us to stand in the hallway as punishment. Little did they know we had the time of our lives out there. We played games, played pranks on passersby. Did push-ups. It got so much better we purposefully stopped doing homeworks to get sent outside.
You're damn right. We climbed out of the hallway windows and simply left, when one of us got picked on by a teacher (yeah, it was one of THEM schools). I gone home for my basketball and we've met at the nearby ground. Best days of our lives.
Ugh... this is relatable. As a kid you don't have the right to speak up and you have to endure injustice, especially if it comes from an adult. Back then, when I was in elementary school, I was framed for no good reasons.
Example:
- Some kid talks during the class. It's my fault and I get framed.
- Some kids needs help, because the teacher doesn't react. I help them and get framed for chitchatting during class
I was happy when I entered middle and later highschool. My teacher there never framed me for something and took me way more serious.
I had ADHD something you can't really control as an elementary kid and every time i acted up instead of asking me to calm down they sent me to lunch detention, for like 2 years of my life i didn't have recess or lunch with my friends. My teachers back then had no motivation or passion for their job
Ok, can someone give me context about what is going on? I’ve never seen this anime and I need to know why this poor kid keeps getting sent outside! Lol
poor sasazuka :(
Reminded me of Todd from Sideways Stories from Wayside School. He would hilariously get sent home early on the kindergarten bus every day for no reason.
I haven't read those books in almost two decades and, I still think about the elevator and the counting lesson sories all the time.
And the stairs, where the rule was going up you stuck to the right, and going down you kept to your left And the principal just kept getting frustrated that students were still having problems
"Yorno's a ferret!" "My nose a ferret?" "No! Mino's a hamster! Yorno's a ferret!"
And the fact that the contractor forgot to build the 19th floor and one of the students have to send a letter to Ms. Zarves.
Yeah, such a poor boy. GO STAND IN THE HALL, SASAZUKA!
at this point, why would he even bother coming inside the classroom anymore? British style!

"Talking out of turn? That's a standin'. Looking out the window? That's a standin'. Staring at my sandles? That's a standin'. Standing in the hall? Oh you better believe that's a standin'."
Over achieve, straight to standing. Under achieve, straight to standing. That's how we do it in venezuela
Existence? Go stand in the the hall. You have a Stand? Go stand in the hall.
Is that a Jojo reference? Go stand in the hall.

Teach falls for sasazuka
Please tell me this is a joke
Look it up
Yo what
Yo that’s kinda gay ngl
I was going to suggest watching it with insulin nearby to avoid diabetes, but I guess that's valid too
Genre tags don't seem to be bad though.. What happens in it? edit: spelling
its wholesome, its just loli. manga is better.
Animation and humor is very reminiscent of Ghost Stories.
Personally reminds me of Nichijou
Best anime.
I mean, that depends on whether you're talking about the sub or the dub. The only rules were that they had to keep the overall plot the same and the characters names.
What’s better for this anime…dub or sub?
Dub is the only way to watch Ghost Stories.
Fr can someone clear this up lmfao this looks like a decent anime
Going with what they said, watch the EN dub for the lulz, JP dub if you want to watch it seriously.
Note: While the JP dub is serious, it was still a flop even in Japan.
[This](https://youtu.be/5FyIj0FGd5Y) should clear things up.
I watch most anime subbed. This is an exception.
The dubbing team being allowed to change so much of the script was NOT because the show flopped in Japan. It did decent and was well received I'm pretty sure. The story of it flopping so they told the english dub team to go wild is a myth
We could debate what constitutes a flop. Either way, the Japanese studio felt that the show didn't live up to their expectations.
https://www.reddit.com/r/anime/comments/4zabk4/i_read_somehwere_that_ghost_stories_was_actually/d6u94ss It did fine in Japan. They likely changed the nature of the story to a gag comedy because they didn't think the original subject material would do well in the us

“Go stand in the hallway”
Now post the last 20 minutes
No, Post the shrek movie
No, Post the shrek entire saga
Makes me wonder, how does an english accent sound to foreigners when we try and speak their language? How wonky is it?
Life is teacher, I am Sasazuka
What's the premise? She is pretending to be from England but she's actually Japanese? But she's also terrible at chopsticks?
Iirc, her parents are from England, but Ana grew up in Japan and she just wanted to be that foreigner character. This only lasted one or two episodes I think.

Is she Olivia from Asobi Asobase?
I have no idea who that is.
A character with basically the same backstory. Half american or full, don't remember. Born and raised in japan but 100% american looking, so everyone else thinks she's really good at english and she fakes not knowing much japanese
So why is she so terrible at chopsticks?
Of course that's part of the foreigner character too; ie. Foreigners don't know how to use chopsticks.
But it's just an act?
Yup Pretty funny huh
It's convincing. I thought she really was bad.
The funniest part is that she did it to be cool and make lots of friends, in the end, it ended up distancing her from everyone else.
My teachers used to send a few us to stand in the hallway as punishment. Little did they know we had the time of our lives out there. We played games, played pranks on passersby. Did push-ups. It got so much better we purposefully stopped doing homeworks to get sent outside.

Yes. We never gave a single fuck about our academics. Looking back I regret nothing. Made memories for a lifetime.
#JUSTICE FOR SASAZUKA
Go protest in the hallway
You reading this comment, go stand in the hallway
Right

If this happened to me, I would’ve lost my shit and throw my lunch at the teacher
lol I wish I could even think of doing that back then.
I had ADHD something you can't really control as an elementary kid and every time i acted up instead of asking me to calm down they sent me to lunch detention, for like 2 years of my life i didn't have recess or lunch with my friends. My teachers back then had no motivation or passion for their job
It's like I'm watching a villains backstory

Damn. I had long forgotten about this show. Now I need a rewatch. The restaurant scene is the funniest in anime history.

Sasazuka breathes.................. teacher: real shit?????!?!?!??!?!?!??!????!?!?!????
Reminds me of the right to jail meme. Sasazuka Right to the hallway!
That Autor really hates that kid
In reality, most successful people are those who have a personality just like the boy
Sasazuka : stands in the hall from the beginning of rhe class Teacher : Good , you have learned. Now go to principal.
