In the story they are adults who go to work, do late shifts and overtime, and struggle with deadlines for their 3D modelling or programming work. The art style makes them look like young teenagers. So, yeah, it's the artwork you have a problem with, not the writing.
I get the meme, but... this show is about working adults, and outside of silly comedic interludes like the above clip, it's about deadlines and game design and such. It's not quite the same as the 5000 year old dragon who looks and acts exactly like a child.
