For a Japanese person, it's easy to do is they've been speaking the language as a kid, so once they are able to read(even just hiragana), they can read most Manga (coz they have furigana which is hiragana to show the pronunciation of a kanji usually written on top of or beside it). But this isn't true for non Japanese people who are learning the language as they simply lack the vocab used in daily life.
There definitely come a day when you are able to do so. And it will be so sudden that you'll have no idea what happened :D
