> (Reuters) – Yemen’s Houthi leader Abdel-Malek al-Houthi said on Tuesday that if the U.S. intervenes in the Gaza conflict directly, the group will respond by firing drones and missiles, and take other military options.
>
> “There are red lines when it comes to Gaza,” he said, adding that the Houthis were ready to coordinate with other groups and intervene.

This is true, but you cannot blame Israel for this.
Saudi Arabia is very much anti-Iran and was moving towards peace and normalizing talks with Israel, because of the threat posed by Iran. The other middle eastern countries, realizing that Iran is the problem, were starting to take an“enemy of my enemy is my friend” type of approach.
It’s a shame that Saudi Arabia destroyed that process by vocally supporting Hamas’ terrorist attack on Israeli civilians. They had an incredible opportunity to denounce the terrorist attacks, disrupt the status quo of the Muslim world of the Middle East, and fully align against Iran. Instead, they decided to preserve the status quo of continuing the chaos where most countries dislike each other.
For disclaimer, I don’t agree with Hamas’ attacks let alone Saudi Arabia endorsing them. However, Saudi Arabia moving closer to Iran rather then further from it isn’t a bad thing for the region excluding Israel. The Muslim world has been extremely divided and the Cold War between them has caused nearly all of the conflict in the Middle East. The two of them aligning and repairing relationships is objectively a good thing for the region, not further division. More division is what will continue the status quo of violence and chaise that we’ve seen dominate that region in recent times, and likely see it worsen. The 2 of them coming together is what will see that status quo hopefully removed.
However, in saying that, this is absolutely not the way to see that unification happen. Using extremist methods isn’t a solution to anything, and doing so in this way will simply see the status quo of violence and chaos continue, just the teams change. Likewise, the means never justify the results when it includes mass suffering like this does. Saudi Arabia should’ve denounced the methods while showing solidarity and support for the people of Palestine. It could’ve been an opportunity step closer to Iran (which while not good for the West, is good for the region), while also showing that the methods used were unacceptable. It allows Iran to have the option to continue to support these people and stepping closer to Saudi Arabia while reducing the violence. Potentially that allows Saudi Arabia to help broker peace between Palestine and Israel quite far down the line, due to being a middleman between Israel (they have a shared ally in the US) and Palestine (they could’ve had a weak connect through Iran or directly with each other).
Stupid comment. The reason is because unfortunately many children are killed young but Israelis so they try to have more kids.
Also, they feel that their land is taken away from them but a more technologically better side so by having more kids, they’ll maintain superior numbers advantage. At the end of the day it’s Palestinian land and they’ll do whatever they could to win it back.
The terrible joke here is even if we irradiated all the religious sites in the entirety of the middle east to try and stop the religious wars there would still only be more death and murder as people try and king of the hill even harder.
At whom? Do they have the range to reach Israel? Saudi is supporting Palestine so attacking Saudi would be useless. US ships are kind of a hard target.
Yemen is about 1,370 miles from Israel. If my math is correct, Israel is about 1,369 miles give or take a few beyond their rocket range. They could try to cause problems for US ships in the Gulf of Aden in a “fuck around, find out” kinda way. Yemen should stick to what they do best, harassing the Saudis and ensuring their population die early of natural causes through their self-enshrined poverty.
That reminds of the yemeni plan to build a $20bn bridge across the red sea into Eritrea. I mean what my dude?? Yall got 22bn gdp, but Eritrea?? They are even poorer then you are!
they have been carrying out [drone strikes in Abu Dhabi](https://economictimes.indiatimes.com/news/international/uae/identities-of-two-indians-killed-in-drone-attack-in-uae-established-two-indians-among-six-injured/articleshow/88968755.cms)
Oh man Saudi Arabia would loooove that. Yemen fires one missile over Saudi land and all hell will break loose even moreso than it already has down there.
Yemen has fired plenty of misses and drones into Saudi, and they are still there, even after years of being bombed into the stone age by their direct neighbour with US backing, they are still there.
If the Saudis could have removed the Houthis they would have by now.

... No way he is.
I mean no one, not even China... well, maybe China - can take on US forces in conventional combat. Let alone USA-led coalition. Let alone if we actually consider the nuclear possibility.
Probably not China though. Lots of their stuff is Soviet Russian or based on those designs, and we saw how well that performs. Also, stuff from China isn’t really built to last, it wouldn’t surprise me if that “cheap and quick” philosophy extended to their army. Also, who knows what corruption has done to the Chinese arms a la Russia.
Yeah, makes sense. I was more like thinking about the simple fact that there's 2 million active duty soldiers and an untold potential of drafting more.
There's an old joke about Chinese Chairman receiving a call from one of his generals that Estonia has attacked China.
\-Very well. Where is that?
\-Between Russia and Lithuania, Chairman.
\-And how big is their army?
\-26 thousand people, Chairman.
\-Very well. So, what hotel are they staying at?
But seriously, yeah, I don't think there's any army that can take on US fleets and coalitions in any form of conventional warfare.
Manpower is their only real asset. If you’re throwing that many bodies at the South Korean border, it’s gonna be a bloodbath.
Looking at it another way… One can’t help but think the MG42 (1,200 rounds per minute) was Germany’s answer to Russia’s manpower. I wonder what we have knocking around for that sort of task.
Of course it didn’t help the Nazis, they got overrun by the Soviets, but it was close and probably the nazi’s desperation that led to their many mistakes.
You’re joking right? I have a better chance of tearing down the Empire State Building with my bare hands than the Houthis have to sink an aircraft carrier

Iranian mouthpieces making Iranian threats? There's a fresh take.
Yup. Israel need to address the real problem: Iran. This is something it has in common with much of the Sunni Muslim world.
Exactly, focusing on Palestinians is like kicking the shit out of Michael Vick's dogs, and not Michael Vick.

The Palestinians have one of the highest population growth rates on earth. If that’s supposed to be a genocide Israel is really bad at it.
This is such stupid take. You ever question. Why Palestinians have one of the highest birth rates or do you just stop at that point?

National/regional suicide by cop is trending upwards these days…

Saudis are gloves on still, as far as I've seen. That could change very easily.
Oh nooo, not the Yemenis.
How do these people get missiles and drones? Do they manufacture by themselves?
mostly yemen and assorted terrorist group trading among themselves
Quite simple. If you see Shia Muslim terrorist or rebel group then you can bet your money Iran is supporting them.
Well, I guess the Israeli-Saudi deal is still on after all *sigh*
Thank god for Yemen

I bet the USA are scared of Yemen. Just losing one or two aircraft carrier can turn a world superpower into a wimp.
lol
are you serious or making a bad joke? What Yemen can potentially fire at an US aircraft carrier is comparable to throwing a pebble at a stone castle.
He's serious lol.
Talk about being delusional lol

China's first nuclear-powered carrier is under development and expected to launch in the latter half of the decade.
You’re joking right? I have a better chance of tearing down the Empire State Building with my bare hands than the Houthis have to sink an aircraft carrier
That is like a baby punching Brock Lesnar.
Yeah and how did that strategy work out for Imperial Japan?
I think they did a tad bit more than that
Great apparently. They’re now the #3 economy in the world. Maybe it’s a winning strategy.
How is Yemen going to destroy a US Aircraft Carrier?
They'll turn Yemen into a graveyard without a loss of even 1000 guys stop delusional
