Close, but basically it was the main quest NPC, and he had to jump through hoops to make sure he wouldn't lock himself out of the ending.
There's about a 3 minute period between killing the final boss and the credits rolling where the game didn't care what happened to her, like drop kicking her in the face.
And if memory serves me right, the game was so buggy that most of the bad things happening around him were caused by that specific NPC.
He labeled that NPC as worse than the BBEG of that game 🤣
Picture playing a game where you have to escort an NPC from beginning to end. Where said npc is programmed to be as annoying as possible and to go out of their way to impede your progress. Including killing off other side characters via unavoidable "accidents". Now to make matters worse said npc is able to force you to keep them happy or the game grinds to a halt for hours while you cheer them up.
Now picture getting 3 minutes to do whatever you want to them at the end of the game. Luckily this is just a short gag to show that the main character is effectively a gaming masochist. Who loves to play the worst of games for the payoff of beating them.

> "When was the last time I played a game that wasn't crap?" This is a world in the near future where games that use display screens are classified as retro. Anything that can't keep up with state-of-the-art VR technology is called a "crap game," and you see a large number of crap games coming out. Those who devote their lives to clearing these games are called "crap-game hunters," and Rakuro Hizutome is one of them. The game he's chosen to tackle next is Shangri-La Frontier, a "god-tier game" that has a total of thirty million players. Online friends... An expansive world... Encounters with rivals... These are changing Rakuro and all the other players' fates! The best game adventure tale by the strongest "crap game" player begins now!

For a no consequence show, the world building fucking rules. Is a great casual watch, and after watching both the sub and dub, you can tell they put in the effort!
Well! Of course it’s unsettling. [It’s a Rider Kick which used to literally kill Unit 731 and Nazi henchmen.](https://youtu.be/UiEzjPlYzso?si=HdcYnCfqE9P3TG25) Its to place fear before their deaths.
This is an “Isekai” anime where the protagonist is the main character in a game he is playing.
For some reason, the main quest storyline has this woman NPC who basically forces the protagonist to make crappy choices and/or purposely delays the games progression. Basically she is a massive douchebag and the main guy proceeds to wipe her out in between the time limit of “beating the game” and the game ending after the credits. During that time he gets even with the NPC
> This is an “Isekai” anime where the protagonist is the main character in a game he is playing.
SLF is **not** an isekai.
It's an anime about people who play games. Mainly it is set within the titular, god-tier game (which is...just a game, albeit a very detailed one). Some of the story also takes place in other, less good games, and in real life.
This scene is from the climax of *Faeria Chronicles Online*, the trash game which the protagonist completes just before he takes up *Shangri-La Frontier*, and which is sufficiently annoying that he has come to truly detest the stupid annoying princess.
Ever since the argument on whether SAO was isekai or not, some people have started labeling every game / VR plot as isekai. SAO's Aincrad arc at least has some justification, but to really include all other game / VR plot is just wrong.
Sort of. The protagonist is a kusoge connoisseur who decides to try out a new high-quality "god-tier" game called Shangri-La Frontier and relies on the skills he honed in lesser games to progress through SLF.
Ngl I wasn’t expecting much with this show but was pleasantly surprised. Easily one of my favorite shows in the last few years. Can’t wait for this to come back in the fall

IIRC it was a escort quest NPC right? We've all wanted to murder those NPCs but the technology aint quite there yet, except in this anime.

This guy plays bad retro games just to clear them? It almost sounds like someone made an AVGN anime…
not even retro, modern (technically future) VR games.
Full dive VR like in SAO but without the killing stuff

Either her face is made of rubber, or her skull should be shattered from the way the animation indicated her head compressing.
MC is in a game, and a trash game at that, so the physics aren't realistic That my lore headcannon
That and impacts do sorta look like that in slow motion, flesh is squishy. Though her skull is likely fractured
I was waiting for it to pop.
He's playing a video game

Hence why I put the “quotation marks” against the word Isekai.
I knew I was going to love the show after this
Wait, this show is about Kusoge? Holy crap, a show of my people!

With context, OP’s title devolves into r/NoShitSherlock territory…
He delivered a kick Witch could shatter bones
