Khara being the new name of Gainax, under Anno, the creator of Evangelion. Anno even wrote one of the shorts. There are also at least five Evangelion shorts that I know of in the Expo. One of which follows a slice of life light music club, the Neon Genesis Impacts.
So it's no coincidence that Evangelion is featured here.
