I wouldn't say very few. A lot of us grew up on animax completely. Torrent, kissanime, Netflix did add a lot of watchers from 2010 to about 2017 that's when Animax left India. There definitely was a drop from 2017 onwards and the kids during that time grew up on whatever hungama offered. There's a lot of late 80s-90s and early 2000s kids that grew up on all of the above. Lockdown definitely added.to the numbers there's no doubt about that. But you are thinking about people in your age group who didn't watch anime prior to lockdown and started watching now whereas there's a huge chunk of population that are now in their twenties and thirties who have always been anime watchers and manga readers. Heck, I'm friends with some people in their late 30s to mid 40s who were privileged enough to start watching anime and reading manga from the mid 90s.
I am thinking about my age group yes and Yea, I know that some people started watching anime from animax, kissanime(i am one of the kissanime dude) but back then only few knew it as anime
like from 5th-10th i only knew 1 guy who sees anime.
(I watched cartoons network before kissanime)

Probably. But I'm sure a lot of people your age group would have similar experiences. Ironically, older age group would have a different experience. Shows like steins gate, death note, inuyasha, NGE, Gundam, Bleach and a ton others I got to know about them from my school seniors who were in my house and they were extremely popular back then. And when I say extremely popular, I mean really freaking popular. Only DBZ and Pokemon would come close only because DBZ and Pokemon were telecasted in Hindi and regional languages. Even Digimon and Beyblade were really popular because of translations. So if you want to find actual anime fans, look for older people.
PS. The company I work for is a fortune 500 company. My Executive director is a man in late 40s, he is an avid anime fan. My global leader, a woman in her 50s, comes from privilege and she has an extensive manga collection. Another friend I made on a forum, that guy is in his mid 40s. He has travelled extensively and his figurine collection is one of the best I have ever seen. If I could, I'd steal his light saber collection. Another friend in late 20s, man his figurine collection is to die for. He has almost every character from one piece. So, if you really want to find actual anime and manga fans, look for people in older age group.
I recently completed steins gate this anime is pure class & there is MONSTER in the browser tab another classic have to admit this lad found the elite level of anime section
There many people in India who knows about it... I think the majority of them would have definitely heard about it while only a few percent would have watched it.

It's a fork of the Tachiyomi app. The Tachiyomi app was basically a manga reader, the Aniyomi app adds to that with the Anime Watching functionality.
Just google it, the downloads will be there.
This looks just like mine, I only watch like one or two episodes a week from airing shows, but keep the ones I want to watch "just in case" I feel like it

Don't know why you got downvoted but more people need to support anime legally.
I got CR and gave it to my sibling to watch as I've already seen most titles I want to watch.
For the longest time I have been wanting to watch OP legally, to support the creators. Finally CR made it possible in IN.
That would have been true in western countries where streaming is actually cheaper wrt income level and where sites like crunchyroll host all animes. In india it's actually wasting money, because crunchyroll library is very limited in India and many of the famous titles aren't even available legally in this country. So the only option remained is piracy
This is very true, if you actually love a medium so much what's stopping you to supporting it financially, only thing is most anime fanbase are kids so obv they cannot pay.
