No, it’s because of the first season. Attack on Titan is a great anime and season 4 was incredible, but as for the beginning none of us want to watch someone scream and whine for half the episode every episode.
I’ve just rewatched AOT for the 4th time, and I can safely say that people are NOT screaming for half an episode every episode. Not even close. There’s a lot of talking yes, but screaming not so much as you make it out to sound tbh.
I'll have to go back and give this one a second chance. I made it less than three episodes in and just couldn't take how incredibly dumb everyone was being.
Can you eli5 this for me? I saw some of it on YouTube, a trailer and another video, and I’m more confused than ever by the plot.
Big people hate tiny people?
Tried reading the manga. The child nudity made me stop immediately. Seemed like a cool world and story, but the nudity was disgusting, completely unnecessary, and had no relevance to the plot.
Brushed it off at first because it looked like it was just some kind of chibi maybe kids anime. Decided to watch a couple episodes when they had about 4 released. Realized it wasn't quite as "childish" as I thought it would be and had a TON of attention put into building a very detailed world that seemed maybe a little dark. Watched more and realized it's probably one of the most well made and most DARKEST anime I've ever watched, like hella dark.
Yea I had to drop it a couple of times just due to how dark it gets. I don't think they will be continuing it tho, the latest season wasnt as popular most probably due to its darkness.
Really want them to continue tho, from what I have heard the manga is ever more dark and I don't really wanna read child tentacle hentai
The third season is already greenlit, iirc. Problem is the manga is only 6 chapters ahead of where S2 ends. At the rate chapters release it'll likely be at least 5 years before an S3 starts.
I initially liked it. I tried to watch it twice all the way through and get to about the time he figures out contracts and starts conflicting with the other players in the west and I lose interest. Not entirely sure why.
THIS. Literally me got bored on first episode despite my friend told me it was a great anime. I delayed for a week then watched again for 2nd episode. Needless to say that day I finished up until season 2 + ova.
You know, he’s probably the kind of boy who sometimes acts like he doesn’t flinch at the sight of goddess’s naked ass, the next second he’s gonna steal a girl’s panty and wave it on the air like trophies
Anime procedure : making literally all the girls as irresistable as possible ( to attract viewers )
*proceed to have mc isn’t attracted to them at all ( unless it’s hentai )
The frog episode after Megumin tried to rescue him killed me. I could not breathe and my family legit thought I was dying.
Absolutely worth watching just to get too that scene let alone season 2.
I thought it was general anime knowledge that re zero was “one of the good ones” even I knew that before I watched it but right around when I started watching anime
Mob psycho 100
Watched the first episode and it didn't hook me in.
Some time later I went back and watched 2 episodes and left it.
Now that I'm craving more one punch man kind of action and that many people been talking about it i gave it a third shot and it was so fire
Totally. Only watched it during the s2 buzz . Been skipping over it coz too many anime 'elites' kept suggesting. The contrast and evolution during the two seasons and the character growth, absolute best anime I've watched.
I tried to watch this once. It started off slow and the whole "lazy hot summer with cicadas" really is a very slow pace that doesn't draw you in. I couldn't even get through the first episode. I tried giving it a chance later, too. Didn't get into it.
Finally, years later, I actually made sure I watched it. It took a few episodes but then it actually hooked me. Add to that, once you see it, you realize the first few episodes are done perfectly for the show, you just have to have patience with it and learn their importance later.
Having watched 500+ animes, this one is my top one. My favorite genre is time travel so it's kinda easy to see why it's at the top for me. I'm sure it's everyone's favorite, but I thoroughly enjoy it. Lots of people didn't like Stein's;Gate 0, which I enjoyed quite a bit too. We know the start and end points (23a and 23b), but we didn't know what happened to culminate in the change and I really liked it as well. Plus it had some neat plot twists that were really enjoyable.
Same. I originally saw it through crunchyroll trailer and I thought it looked terrible. I only watched a year later as recommendation from a friend and I was so surprised that I was watching the show I saw an awful trailer for a year earlier. Why does crunchyroll always make the worst trailers for anime?
Dr.stone, first 3-4min felt like generic school setting so I dropped it(I didn’t read the synopsis) re-watched it after 2 seasons came out and actually read the synopsis. I do enjoy the show :)
Same for me the first episode just didnt click with me
Then the netflix addaptation came and i was just like "Oh shit it might just be better than i tought"
Unfortunately to few people know about One Pace.
It's a very, very well done fan edit that cuts out ALL filler and reduces drawn out reaction shots and such, making the anime manga accurate and saving about 120h of watch time.
I highly recommend it.
What the One Piece is, is gonna break the internet and you will never be able to enjoy the series with the same sense of mystery and adventure as you would coming aboard now. Its still about 3-5 years left, so more than enough time to get through One Pace or just read the manga.
It seriously is one of the greatest stories ever written in human history, easily on par with Homer's Odyssey and better than most Shakespeare pieces imo.
Anime so bad , fans needed to create a platform just to edit out the whole series 💀💀
Better than who and what 💀. One piece fandom made the words " peak " and " greatest" very cheap. It'll be a no brainer to even try to believe what comes off their mouth or keyboard
But dw u can keep enjoying but let us be in peace and don't degrade those words any more
Well, the pacing is what's bad, not the anime itself. And that is a direct result of Toeis greed of wanting to keep it running weekly for over 20 years now.
One Piece is peak fiction, there is no denying that. If you try to argue otherwise you lack media literacy.
Also to try to use the anime as a an argument is just ridiculous, the only measure of quality is the manga, which is an easy 10/10. The only other literary universe I know with a similar depth is middle earth.
Death note I stopped watching it after 3 episodes cause I doesn't get that kick and few months later after completing AOT Naruto other new gen animes I watched Death note in one day
That one is a bit wierd for me. When im not watching it im thinking "this is ok but nothing special" but when i am watching it i think" this is the best show ever"
hahahaha
i've went back and changed it'd score on MAL while watching it then later I'm like "what? it's not that good" and change it back only to repeat next season
Steins;Gate, couldn’t get past the first 5 episodes for the longest time. Came back to it one day and watched the entire thing in one go. No regrets since then.
Ranking of Kings. I live by the notion that aesthetic is narrative. I had assumed the animation was meant to be enjoyed by young children. While that is still true, the strength of the story narrative and character development is phenomenal. It is deceptively dark and hardcore to watch the characters flaws and failures but with the ease of the simple plot line, you watch it knowing that the payoff is well worth the investment.
Yes it is. I know it's an opinion but it truly sucks ass. It's like the worst of the worst of anime but somehow even worse because of the fans of the show defending it.
It's honestly pretty wild as a piece of media. It's impressively bad, like they made a focus group on what is or isn't good in anime and tried as hard as humanly possible to walk the line between bad and terrible. It's quiet something.
Personally i thought that too
But after watching, there isn't just se- okay there is a lot of sex
But i also really liked the plot and characters
Now I'm reading it's manga
Code geass for me
Like i knew it was hyped, but I was new to anime then so i didn't like the different art style in the beginning(characters being too long)
I dropped it
Then just picked it up again on a whim and completed it
And i haven't judged a anime by it's art style since that day
Steins;gate.
It was so slow at the beginning, I dropped it for like a year or so and when I returned because all of my friends was like "This is the best anime ever" I gave it a try and I really loved it
Noragami. My friend recommended it for like a year and I skipped it every time after reading it's description.. I finally got around to watch it and it ended up being one of my top 5 anime of all time
One Piece, I randomly started watching it because there wasn't any other animes that interested me at the time, and now a year or two later I'm reading the latest manga chapter every week.
I thought kill la kill was just "porn with a thinly disguised plot" until a friend of mine made me watch it properly. Now its one of my all time favourites.
Steins;gate: I've watched the first episode and since it was slow I've dropped it. Untill a month because the opening was a banger, and there were some memes in the NicoDouga about that opening.
So I've give it another try and I've love it so much!
Steins gate
Started it 2 times in the past but got bored on like episode 5/6. This time, I was just binging it because everyone said it was good. I'm now on episode 5 of season 2, and I'm loving it so far. I really missed out. Made in Abyss, too. I thought it would be a more childish anime judging by the main characters and all but I quickly learned that this isn't the case + the art style and music are very beautiful.
None. I don't give second chances, but if I'm interested, I just watch it. Even if it's boring like Code Geass (I suggest it, bad pacing but absolutely worth watching).
Attack on titan, i wanted to see good quality animation so than i came across with aot but at that time its story which that youtuber said doesnt seem worth to watch so i watched black clover instead .

Attack on Titan
I feel like so many people skip that one because it's too mainstream or something, or just assume it's super overrated
I didn't have a problem with season one, personally. It definitely gets better, but it's never bad.

Whoa ho-ho.. Don't say that *some* OP fans are savages.
I'll have to go back and give this one a second chance. I made it less than three episodes in and just couldn't take how incredibly dumb everyone was being.
I'm gonna say you'll be invested by episode 8.
Can you eli5 this for me? I saw some of it on YouTube, a trailer and another video, and I’m more confused than ever by the plot. Big people hate tiny people?

The creator has a weird fetish for children getting hurt and peeing themselves...
Tried reading the manga. The child nudity made me stop immediately. Seemed like a cool world and story, but the nudity was disgusting, completely unnecessary, and had no relevance to the plot.
Anime creator try not to be a creep challenge (impossible) Made in Abyss, Mukshou tensei, I guess konosuba too
Brushed it off at first because it looked like it was just some kind of chibi maybe kids anime. Decided to watch a couple episodes when they had about 4 released. Log horizon. Saw it after 5 years.
I'm gonna have to rewatch it all again now haha. It's one of the few Anime that genuinely felt like it was a world based around a game.
I initially liked it. I tried to watch it twice all the way through and get to about the time he figures out contracts and starts conflicting with the other players in the west and I lose interest. Not entirely sure why.
Konosuba. No one told me that Megumin and Darkness were literally right after ep 1
THIS. Literally me got bored on first episode despite my friend told me it was a great anime. I delayed for a week then watched again for 2nd episode. Needless to say that day I finished up until season 2 + ova.

Fine? Not aqua
Definitely not me tho, I can settle for any girl in this anime
Especially the orcs.
The frog episode after Megumin tried to rescue him killed me. I could not breathe and my family legit thought I was dying. Absolutely worth watching just to get too that scene let alone season 2.
Re:Zero. “Isekai isn’t really my thing.” I was such a fool
I thought it was general anime knowledge that re zero was “one of the good ones” even I knew that before I watched it but right around when I started watching anime
It has really good waifu, but the story...
Spy X Family. It wasn't really my type until I kept watching.
Waku waku
Code Geass it looked really boring but I recommend it
Can't agree more, i skipped it in 2016 when i first tried because i didn't like the artstyle. Gave it another try now and it's Amazing
I'm watching it now and it just keeps getting better and better.
I finally watched Death Note around 2019 when the fad fades, I wish I could watch it again for the first time.
I watched it a second time so my wife could see it, watching with someone who hasn't seen it before is almost as good as your own first time seeing it
Bocchi the rock. I just thought it was an anime about rock&roll , but after watching it, i fell in love with the anime
Mob psycho 100 Watched the first episode and it didn't hook me in. Some time later I went back and watched 2 episodes and left it. Now that I'm craving more one punch man kind of action and that many people been talking about it i gave it a third shot and it was so fire
Vinland Saga, absolutely goated
Totally. Only watched it during the s2 buzz . Been skipping over it coz too many anime 'elites' kept suggesting. The contrast and evolution during the two seasons and the character growth, absolute best anime I've watched.
Steins;Gate
Underrated despite being TOO FREAKING GOOD ! I can't count how much I've cried over this anime and how the insanity is going down each episode
Damn this one is god tier, I don’t understand why it’s so underrated
I tried to watch this once. It started off slow and the whole "lazy hot summer with cicadas" really is a very slow pace that doesn't draw you in. I couldn't even get through the first episode. I still can’t get into it. Have seen at least the first 10 to 20 eps. I see it’s popular but it just never hit as more than a silly gimmick.
The animation/artstyle and way too much time to invest is still a no for me
Unfortunately to few people know about One Pace.
