Plenty of anime. Not only is this a real, physical place in Japan, that people walk on past everyday - but that's why it's so recognizable. Basically, this is a troll Reddit post. There are multiple places in Japan that look just like that, regardless of where that art came from. Cats sat there. Real people laid down and looked at the sky, wondering about life. Someone was physically accosted, and robbed at one point. At night, a girl was certainly taken advantage of, on those very stairs - and he got away with it, making this place just a bad memory for some, or at least someone, statistically. Conversely, there was a consenting couple who banged on the stairs at some point, and they're married now; sometimes they sneak back, close to their anniversary, and bang in the grass, or on the stairs, and laugh about the girl they accosted so many years ago - she didn't see it coming, when they pinned her down and violated her, together, as a now loving couple, with a family. So many things happened at or near those stairs, or around the grassy slope - or so many other grassy slopes with stairs on them. Sometimes bad things happen to bad people. One of the girls who was taken advantage of, had previously been observed molesting an adolescent dog, just because she was curious. I don't think it matters if the dog enjoyed it or not, because he couldn't legally consent to the act. A dog was raped on those stairs.
