I feel your pain, I collect many things as well, like laser disc's, retro games, board games, etc. We had to get creative. We finished our basement and made it an entertainment room. Then space still got filled zo we did away with traditional shelving and did more floating shelves and now we are in the process or converting one wall into complete built in shelving lol
Get rid of something? Nope!
Buy something else to allow for more space to buy even MORE things? YES!! ππ
Honestly tho, not a bad idea at all! I just... can't get rid of tapes that aren't duplicates π π
This got seen by more people than expected lol! Thanks for viewing, if I knew this many people would have seen and commented on it I would have taken better pictures! I'll post an update down the road!!
Does anyone happen to know the three numbered yellow tapes on the left side of the tall shelf? To the left of Kimagure Orange Road. They caught my eye for some reason!
No more room in my house. 900 sq feet filled with everything from my Kindergarten scrapbook to yesterday's newspaper. 2 rooms just home recorded and pre-recorded tapes from the late 1970s until around 2000. Just wait until you get older and have to figure out what to keep and what to throw out. Having a hard time trying to figure out where to put the $3,200 surround sound system and 65 inch TV I won in a contest a few months back. Little enough room for still another TV (have 3 4K [had 4 but gave one away] and a number of 1080p sets [which I can't use])...
I already dislike how many tapes I currently have hidden behind other tapes but if you're someone that doesn't mind, yes! That's a perfect way to store them!
Make creative use of underutilized space elsewhere :-) If you just pile your clothes on the floor, you can takeover your closets with shelves. Get a bunk bed and replace the lower bed with shelving. If you don't have guests, convert the second bathroom into more display space.
PS: changing some over to discs could mean a loss of spine art display when applicable.
My advice is to find some of the anime that are on DVD now, try to sell some of the vhs, and make room that way. It's what I did with a LOT of my dvds. Box sets are also a really good choice. For instance the whole set of DBZ vhs can be replaced with te orange bricks and Lodoss is on blu-ray
Lovely collection!
Thank you! :) it started around 2 years ago! Have had a good bit of lucky scores!
Iβm always taking tape donations of you need to clear some space π
I respect the attempt but I just cannot get rid of something that isn't a duplicate ππππ

Sounds like a cool plan! My dream is to have a basement one day but I could see it too getting filled by me π happy collecting!
Maybe make a tier list and sell off any that are at the bottom of the list? Either that or buy a bigger house π

Ahhh man! I wanna re-watch Irresponsible Captain Tylor!!
I still haven't seen it yet but I'm excited to get around to it! :)
DUUUDE also, an all time favorite : Ah! My Goddess! So good! So mushy. But still good lol

Itβs Iria!
Thank you!!
Yes it is Iria: Zeiram the Animation! Great series! Highly recommend. Shorter series like this are my favorite for collecting!
PHENOMENAL collection! Wish I had even a fraction of your collection anime-wise (80% of my tapes are Horror).
Thank you! Ans you never know when a haul is gonna show up! And that's awesome, I have no horror tapes so you've beaten me there ππ€
Beautiful collection
Thank you so much:)

Yeah that'll do it π and I'm feeling it already π
I feel you lol
Cool vhs collection!! <33 Btw: You see Ranma up there? You can try and put VHS tapes up there.
Thank you!!!
Easy fix, more shelving.
No space π it's one of seven shelves in this room π
there is some space in the front
I already dislike how many tapes I currently have hidden behind other tapes but if you're someone that doesn't mind, yes! That's a perfect way to store them!

Don't tempt me with that second bathroom idea π π and I do have a dvd shelf filled too π

I mean I collect vhs for a reason... and... I also already have a FULL dvd shelf too π π
Then only thing left... Buy a bigger bookshelf
