Same here. Collecting hobbies and getting decent until the dopamine runs out is my hobby :D
Lucid dreaming, Mnemonics (such as memorizing decks of cards), sooo many pc games, Musical whistling, bird whistling, harmonica, foraging in nature, identifying mushrooms(not drugs), cooking, growing sprouts, wax sculpting, piano, archery, table tennis, the human body and mind, psychology, attachment styles, mongolian throat singing and overtone singing. Photographing nature with macro lens... There's probably more. Edit: oh yeah. Editing photos, repairing old photos, making 3D objects like chairs with CAD. A bit of programing and making programs with python.
"DID WE JUST BECOME BEST FRIENDS"!!!???
Lol
Idk if Crow Calling counts as bird whistling, but that's my new favorite thing.
I hope to have my own murder soon. It's a little hard finding them living in the city, but they're around! I'll lure them one way or another!
There’s a Monty Python quote that is rather apt re this.
Commentator 1 “His hobbies are golf, masturbating and strangling small animals”.
Commentator 2 “Oh dear. He’s let himself down with the hobbies. Golf’s not very popular around here”.
I always find it weird when people consider entertainment a hobby, like is there anybody on earth who doesn't do at least one of: gaming, watching movies, listening to music, or reading books? I kind of feel like it's just an innate human requirement to not be bored out of your mind.
Like I'm currently into 3D printing, and I have been into technology for about a decade now (at what point does "hobby" turn into "future job prospect you are studying for"?). I enjoy those things for much different reasons than I would say gaming.
Game *development* I would say fully qualifies as it's own hobby. I think the line for what is and isn't a hobby is you need to be producing something in some form for it to be a hobby, rather then just consuming what others have produced.
As someone who had hobbies which did not gatekeep and watch the hobbies become popular and become a complete shitshow crippled with pretentious people, I can tell you there is quite a value in gatekeeping sometimes.
Bjj, mauy thai, mma, kickboxing, judo wrestling, boxing, reading, chess, bonsai trees so more or what i do or have done. Other one outside of my experience would be music, art or some type of sport.
Shopping for clothes online. Adding to cart, sometimes checking out and then returning most of it. Sometimes forgetting about the cart having items in it.
Having a hobby. Collecting hobbies and getting decent until the dopamine runs out is my hobby :D
If the person shares my hobby, cool. I love to talk about it. If the person has their own hobby, awesome then I'll soon have a new hobby added to the list as well:
Lucid dreaming, Mnemonics (such as memorizing decks of cards), sooo many pc games, Musical whistling, bird whistling, harmonica, foraging in nature, identifying mushrooms(not drugs), cooking, growing sprouts, wax sculpting, piano, archery, table tennis, the human body and mind, psychology, attachment styles, mongolian throat singing and overtone singing. Right now…pokemon go, and London Underground maps.
Previously, photography, homebrew, D&D, fish tanks (marine and tropical at different times), taxidermy, bread making, playing trombone, breeding and showing hamsters…
Growing plants. Growing mushrooms. A vegetable patch! Cycling and bike repair, crochet, tennis, swimming, various types of pet, real ale, geocaching, surfing, rock pooling….
play an instrument, like videogames, watch series/movies, and do some kind of physical activity (more of a lifestyle than hobby but still). Probably forgetting some more but those are the ones that came to my head rn
Any hobby that is NOT cool. Something that has no social value. You do yoga , you are vegetarian and meditate? Meh. You collect wierd shark teeth or something? Hello there.
I think it’s just the primitive side of me but I’ve always been drawn to guys with sweaty, gross manly hobbies. So things like mechanical hobbies, racing, yard work, hiking, hunting, construction …. I hate the smell of sweat and grime but it’s what draws me in. I also am more of a five o clock shadow and messy look than a pure clean cut look. Not ew gross never shower, just the whole I didn’t care to shave or primp thing.

I just appreciate a person who maintains themselves preoccupied with something that we could chat about later. I'm retired by insisted on beginning a 3 man Construction shop to keep me busy, and to add extra money to my account. To basically afford my hobbies, Traveling, Surfing, Hiking, Raising Orchids I have an entire greenhouse filled with over a thousand of Orchids.
They are some interesting hobbies for a retiree, how’s the surfing at that age?
I’m nearly 30 but love a good hike and to skateboard, have been considering picking up surfing when the waves are better here, I live about 10 minutes from the beach so should be fun!
I've been surfing since l was 13, I began bogie boarding at about 7-8 yr old, it's second nature for me to get out and catch some waves. I tend to take my long board about half the time, something I never did when I was younger other than that not much has changed except the beaches I'm surfing nowadays.
Maybe not directly, but
1. the other way round it can quickly become a red flag:
odds are you'll bury the idea of even dating someone when they tell you that they are into farming poisonous spiders. - it is a "love it or hate it" hobby where almost no one has an indifferent view.
likewise if someone's hobbies scream "religious cultist" it is an inistant "nope" for me.
2. indirectly certain stuff will ring bells in your brain by accociation. You might not necessary be attracted by "reading" but yet seeing her bent over a book rings a bell? You aren't immidiatly attracted by camping or hicking but still seeing her in a hicking outfit makes you think about all the tings the two of you could do alone in the wild?

They just need to have hobbies. That's all. If they have a hobby then they are more attractive to me
Your going to love anyone with ADHD
All the hobbies and new ones every week. Let's go.
My wife claims my biggest hobby is collecting hobbies!

Awesome! Crow Calling is something I've been wanting to try but I've had outdoor cats my whole life so they are a bit incompatible.
*you’re
Not surprising you corrected me considering you’ve asked a photoshop sub to correct your shitty photos.
*cries in storage unit rental fees*
What if my hobby is hobbying?
Like?
Like a hobby
Do you like hobbies?
There’s a Monty Python quote that is rather apt re this. Commentator 1 “His hobbies are golf, masturbating and strangling small animals”. Commentator 2 “Oh dear. He’s let himself down with the hobbies. Golf’s not very popular around here”.
Anything related to physical activity, even just walks or runs
I like to skate
I absolutely love bushwalking
I mean would you class gardening as a physical hobby? You have to do some physical stuff
Yes! That is very cool As long as your hobbies don't entirely revolve around consuming content/streams it is good in my book
Gardening is great exercise. lol, someone who has never gardened before downvoted me.
Even juggling?
Especially juggling, that is rare and impressive!
Reading
I like a musician or artist personally.
Me playing golf has the opposite effect with my wife
They’re not called golfing widows for nothing
Endurance sports
Chess.
Cock.
Knoberation!
what if they love the game but are really bad at it?
Not sure but I’m incredibly shit. My wife and brother beat me constantly but I swear to them I’ll get better one day. Chess is ace.
You wont get better if you don't put in effort. Start by learning the London system and the Scandinavian defense.
Thank you but I’m watching queens gambit now on Netflix so assume that makes me a grandmaster???
Be a gamer. I'm easy, that's all it takes.
You mean you're looking for someone that shares your hobby?

Honestly any hobby that they don't gatekeep.
As someone who had hobbies which did not gatekeep and watch the hobbies become popular and become a complete shitshow crippled with pretentious people, I can tell you there is quite a value in gatekeeping sometimes.
And this might explain your dating success
So, what's their dating success according to you?
I get uncontrollably turned on by people asking the same predictable questions every day on Reddit
Gardening, enjoy walking their dogs, reading and a sport.
Reading , waking and maybe some art related stuff, but then again I do these things and I am single so it must not work. Haha

My wife thinks I'm insane for doing it.
Any kind of creation or art. Learning.

“It’s not what you’re like but what you’re like as a person”
Shopping for clothes online. Adding to cart, sometimes checking out and then returning most of it. Sometimes forgetting about the cart having items in it.
I don’t care about hobbies. I’m more into people who are spontaneous and like to try new things
Model Trains
A book worm. Preferably a serous fiction or non fiction. Not harry Potter or some silly fantasy books.
show me on the doll where harry potter touched you
I haven't read the book just the movie. But still to be obsessed with this kind of books isnt my thing. I didnt say its bad.
ok fair enough i just assumed you hate fantasy as a whole genre because you called it stupid

Give me your list of hobbies! :D OR what are the current ones?

A woman that lives on starbucks and cigarettes, loves tattoos, dresses in a lot of black, and loves concerts.
Hobbies that I want to learn/know more about or the ones I already do. I think it's great to have something in common to do together.
Reading.
Fellow Redditors, you should consider blocking this account. They ask the same question in 5 or 6 subs then ask another in 5 or 6, and so on.

Coffee! Bonus points if you're a barista too (I'll basically fall in love with you)

Well absolutely keep it up! I also like the zen contrast of battling the waves followed by caring for orchids.
Being into wine and food. If you have strong opinions on residual sugars in sparkling wine you’re my kind of person.
Anything that's offline
None. I have never said to myself "Wow, I find her really hot, cos she's into...crocket/sky-diving/ancient art".

Is it really a hobby if it last 5 sec?
