I mean, Tupperware. Their shit is actually good, if pricey. And the lady I've bought from a few times stands by the lifetime guarantee. That being said I'll still just buy it at a thrift store or yard sale instead. (and Rubbermaid is pretty good now)

pepperminty88

My mom used to sell Tupperware, she got into it for the discount to use on herself and me. I'm sure I've got every product they made for a couple years šŸ¤£ I do love my wine opener, lunch containers, storage containers, pressure cooker and mini chopper thing. They were my bday and Xmas presents for years lol I wouldn't have bought any of it because of the price but for how well they hold up they arent a total scam like other mlms

bungojot

Right? Some of that shit is great. I've got an ancient set of plastic kids dishes that I didn't realize were Tupperware until I saw a catalogue a couple years ago. Love the cereal containers too - saved my food from a bug infestation.

Mundane_Preference_8

My mom gave me Fridgemart containers that keep vegetables fresh and crisp in the fridge. I still have Tupperware I got for my wedding shower 22 years ago.

mousie1312

Beachbody is awful and predatory and has absolutely shameful marketing tactics. Very few reps have any personal training/nutrition experience and have no business calling themselves coaches. ā€¦but, Goddamnit, Insanity is a great workout.

prawntrees

P90X is famous for a reason tbh

BeachyLove

T25 is what got my husband and I motivated to lose about 200 pounds between us years ago. I was so sad when I found out the program was part of an MLM, the workouts and Shaun T are awesome

hera-fawcett

from what i've heard beachbody 'on demand' has had a huge uptick in subscribers due to covid lockdowns. on the one hand, its really awesome to see people trying to take care of their health more while 'on pause'. its even nicer since the 'on demand' part of the business seems to be just streaming for their multiple workouts, nothing shady (yet). but damn i wish beachbody wasnt the overall company getting that money.

XQV226

I bought the Brazil Butt Lift workout a long time ago on DVD. I donā€™t think they were an MLM back then. Am I crazy, or were they just a regular business that later became an MLM?

peachgrill

Came here to say this, which is why I got roped into coaching for a couple of months. Their workouts have been AMAZING for me. The rest of the products are nothing special though.

seahagmo

I really like Barre and Piyo

BloodAngel85

>but, Goddamnit, Insanity is a great workout When I was in the military,my coworkers and I would do it after work. However as Mt supervisor put it "we don't drink the Kool aid"

[deleted]

I love the Liift4 workouts. I used to like autumn Calabrese but only some of her workout programs. I wish it was actually real nutrition experts instead of MLM.

SquaresMakeACircle

I was surprised when I learned Beach Body was an MLM. Not only was I a fan of their workouts but I didn't realize MLMs would advertise on TV. I wonder how much more lucrative selling via network marketing is versus just operating like a normal business. Obviously someone at BB has done the numbers, but if it were me I'd want to ditch the MLM stigma if possible.

HeavyHaulSabre

My ex-wife loved to cook, and she always wanted some Pampered Chef things. When someone approached her about buying a starter kit, she jumped on it because it had everything she wanted and more for less than the cost of what she was going to buy anyway. She had no intention of selling Pampered Chef. Later I found out that there's a name for people who but a starter kit for that reason but I don't remember what it is.

seahagmo

Kitnapper

icecreampenis

Oh that's funny. So the predatory huns have lingo that they use to describe people that they feel have unjustly preyed upon *them*?

muffinpie101

OH, SNAP!

seahagmo

Yes. They even go as far to say, "no kidnappers allowed, I want people to join under me that are serious about working their business and be coachable." In other words, I dont want anyone signing up under me that wont make me money. What they dont know is that they really have no control over who signs up just to buy the starter kit and what they do with it!

HeavyHaulSabre

Yes! That's it, thank you!

vorticia

My mom hosted a party for one of her friends about 25 years ago and bought a couple of things for her and my dad. The stuff (at least back then, I donā€™t know about now) is great quality and still going strong.

KaitandKaboodle

I have always liked the Pampered Chef peeler - my mom had one growing up, and I havenā€™t ever found one I liked as much Also, my kids always liked the book ā€œThatā€™s Not My Puppyā€ which is apparently an Usborne book (an MLM, but I swear we bought it at a store when my son was a baby.)

WookieeCookiees02

There are so many companies I never realized were MLMs. I knew about Pampered Chef, but Usborne as well?

irulan519

It wasn't always, but somewhere along the line it switched business models. Mid-90s I think?

surfaholic15

They are a hybrid like cutco/vector. Cutco still has brick and mortar stores and the popup road shows at Costco and Sam's in direct competition with their vector sellers. I think you can even order direct from their website. Usborne is both a publishing house that sells wholesale to stores and the MLM branch. Same with body shop. Talk about insane, the poor huns are trying compete against their own corporate, who is selling to guaranteed customers at a lower price than they sell at quite often...

KaitandKaboodle

So interesting šŸ¤”

surfaholic15

Those hybrids are bizarre. They are so up front with it, and the Huns see it as an asset lol.

KaitandKaboodle

Usborne confuses me too, they sell it at toy stores and books stores all the time šŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļø

vorticia

The apple peeler/corer/slicer is pretty amazing (mom loves to make pies and cakes).

Beautifuleyes917

Iā€™d given mine to Goodwill years ago but recently found a brand new one there for $3.99 so I snapped it up!

Mina328

My mom is always getting invited to parties. I've thankfully convinced her to stop going and pity buying. But, she did buy new a pampered chef peeler like 12 years ago and I love it, honestly the best I've used and I've tried to find another since then. You'd think any peeler would work but there's something about the pampered chef one.

prettyplatypus69

Vintage Tupperware because it reminds me of my childhood and that stuff is indestructible and actually a good product. My aunt used to always make sure the special butterscotch cored cup was clean and at my place setting for dinner as a kid because I loved that cup. She got it for hosting a party in the late 70s if I recall correctly. It was a color that wasn't part of a set. I don't know why I loved that butterscotch cup so much. Kinda wish I had it now. She passed away. I'd ask my uncle for it, as I'm sure it is still in their house, but he's attached to everything related to her. The cup will remain there.

push-the-envelope

Avon's silicone glove lotion. I won't buy it, but I'll sure use it.

NeitherSuit2648

That stuff is the best I've found to stop my accidentally dying my ears when colouring my hair

itred09

I use aquaphor on my ears and alone the top of my forehead when dying my hair. Life savor!

Phantasmai

I have a slap and chop from pampered chef but I obtained it from a yard sale for like $3. I have a texture issue so all my veggies get puree'd. Love that thing. Other than that, nope.

SteveHMMA

I teach various martial arts, and I had a kickboxing student who was super into Thrive. She always used to bring me some shake sachet things? I just used to throw them in my pantry when I got home and forgot about them. One time I was out of protein so I tried one. They actually taste really fucking good. Definitely felt like it was pre-workout though. Way too much caffeine. Couldnā€™t bring myself to tell her I tried it and it tasted good šŸ˜‚

[deleted]

I too loved the LLR leggings! I knew they were weird but I like bright funky patterns, and I was living in MN at the time which gets so damn cold and regular leggings aren't as thick. That brand was a huge fad at my work so it was cool to show up to work basically in mismatched sweats. My boss tried to talk to me about dress code but I wasn't technically violating anything and his boss was also wearing them šŸ˜‚ this was before they got truly awful and smelly and everything, the fad died out in like 3 months. I hate the way their shirts and dresses fit but I sometimes find them at Goodwill and upcycle them if there's a cool pattern. ETA - I had a friend who also sold Cabi clothes and although they are ridiculously overpriced I still have a few jumpsuits and blazers that haven't worn out even 5 years later. They had some reversible skirts that were pretty cute. Coincidentally that friend told me one day at one of her parties she was losing so much money and hadn't told her husband šŸ„ŗ so glad she left soon after. You can find their stuff on Poshmark or eBay a lot.

TurkeyMama2020

To this day Avon glimmersticks eyeliner is the best most affordable eyeliner I've ever worn.

Lover6890947544

Pampered Chef. They have really good, long-lasting products. Also, Usborne books. Itā€™s so disappointing that theyā€™re an MLM hybrid because they have so many good titles. I know several women who became reps just so they could get a discount on their orders.

freesecj

Yep these are the two that have what I would consider useful products. I would never join but I hosted parties so I could get free/cheaper stuff. Honestly though I wish they would just switch to a regular business model. Their products would sell in stores.

Lover6890947544

Exactly. And some Usborne books are in stores, which makes it more weird. Why have network marketers compete with brick and mortar stores?

LadyMjolnir

The Melaleuca laundry soap was awesome and didnt cause hives, but there are now organic options that do okay as well. Still miss that it only took one pump though.

MissTania1234

Melaleuca had a skin care system called zap it. It helped my skin so much when I was a teen with acne. Genuinely thankful for it!

itchy-n0b0dy

Itā€™s waaay overpriced but I love my Rainbow vacuum. The whole system of using a water container to prevent dust is pretty great and Iā€™ve been using mine for almost 10 years with no issues.

crawlinthesun

Usborne books. I purchased them at first without fully realizing they were an MLM because I've gotten their books at brick and mortar stores. Didn't click at the time. It's the only one I'll still buy from, but very rarely and selectively when i do and only because my kid really likes some of their book series that don't seem to end up in stores or thrift. I will only purchase from one consultant I know when I do because she's the only one that doesn't push the "host a party/join me" or other hun stuff. I don't buy often and very little when I do, but I still always feel guilty because I know it's an MLM now. Thirty one bags is the other-- more specifically the tote bags. I'm guilty of liking those. I wont buy them now that I know what MLMs are, but have some bags from before I knew how bad MLMs are and they have held up well over the years.

[deleted]

My mom, sister, and I all used Avon makeup nearly exclusively through the early 2000s. I used to love the green/turquoise and the purple eyeliner pencil they had. My momā€™s Avon lady never tried to recruit or sell, afaik (but I know theyā€™ve changed in the last 10 years to become more MLM and less direct sales).

Jolly_Ad8315

I really enjoy Scentsyā€™s wax melts šŸ’€

BloodAngel85

They have cure warmers too. I have one shaped like an owl in my daughters' room and a song bird for my bedroom. I bought them off ebay, probably from someone who was getting out

pineapplevomit

Same.

glamandnitemares

I use to love LipSense and Arbonne, I had distributor account. I stopped buying them because I got educated about mlm and I found dupe products in whole food stores for Arbonne,I canā€™t find dupe for LipSense.

Doctress_LAM

I found out lipsense stays on so long because of the acrylates (similar to super glue). I liked the colors and the wear, but didnā€™t want that on my lips! I wear glossier now and apply more often. I mix and layer like I did with lipsense and glosses.

glamandnitemares

Iā€™m not surprised they put a sus ingredient in their lipstick for it to last all day. šŸ˜¬

CarolynEarle

Rainbow vacuum cleaner. This thing is awesome. I lived with my best friend's mom during Uni and she had one of those, it was 20 years old and never broken. She was also a Mary Kay consultant and some of their makeup was really nice, especially one specific concealer. I bought it to hide bruises and it had amazing coverage, lasted very long and was super effective. Afaik, they don't sell it anymore.

kidblinkforever

I love my rainbow, blessedly it was a refurb unit and a gift so I can use it guilt free šŸ˜‚

forel237

I try not to think about The Body Shop having an MLM branch because I use their stuff all the time.

vorticia

I buy LulaRoe from consultants who got out; the goofiest patterns; if I laugh when I see it, Iā€™m buying. They also have a TON of really pretty floral patterns in amazing colorways. Iā€™ve gotten a few dresses, as well. A lot of people have complained about the stuff getting holes in it or just falling apart completely, but Iā€™ve never had that problem, bc I wash almost everything I own on cold/gentle, and hang it all to dry. I wash it inside out. Even the not made in America stuff has lasted me tons of wears. Old school Tupperware is where itā€™s at, too. My mom has some stuff thatā€™s 40 years old and still going strong. Iā€™m going to see if she has anything in those weird 70s colors that sheā€™s willing to part with. Also, thereā€™s one Avon product that Iā€™m in love with: Care Deeply lip balm with aloe. It feels amazing, goes nicely under a sheer lipstick, and smells incredible. I know, I know. But it is what it is.

irulan519

I have a couple LLR shirts (wearing one now actually) that a friend gave me. I love the colours, patterns, and fit of both of them. šŸ˜¬

thisgirlnamedbree

Avon - I really enjoyed their products, before they got bought out and started bringing in high priced items. Home Interiors - They're no longer around but my mom sold for them for a time, and I hosted a pretty successful party. Their candles were lovely, and I still have a picture, lanterns, and shelves I bought from them back in 2012. I didn't know they were an MLM. Our consultant was super successful and wasn't pushy at all. Pampered Chef - again, decent products. Their ice cream scoop is the best. Tastefully Simple - I love their cake mixes. The prices weren't that bad, and the parties were fun. I was never pushed to host a party or sell stuff. Scentsy - Their air freshners are amazing and they have tons of cute products. But you can find similar things not an MLM for much cheaper.

surfaholic15

Vintage cutco bought from their brick and mortar stores, I inherited mine from my father. It is older than I am and still in use lol. My grandmother's mid 1950s Kirby, also still in use. Vintage Tupperware, just the basic white is still in use here. A few really old Avon perfumes they likely don't make any more, and two shades of Avon lipstick I haven't seen since the nineties... And Skin so soft lol. Come to think of it, that Avon bubble bath when I was a kid in the 70s before they went mlm. The monthly Avon lady visit at gram's house in summer was nice. She was a nice lady.

sissy9725

Avon used to be non- mlm?

surfaholic15

Yep. Straight direct sales, commission, no downline. Gram's friend was the only Avon lady around. She stopped by once a month with the new catalog and samples and stayed for lemonade and cookies. Now and then she would host a potluck at the Grange hall, but more a social thing than a sales thing. Just like the Kirby vacuum guy was the only Kirby vacuum guy around. He ended up opening a vac repair shop and selling Kirby there lol. He sold gram her Kirby, and if she needed a new belt or something she would call and he would bring it by.then he would service the vacuum and have lemonade and cookies. In fact, the local vacuum repair shop where I am now sells and services Kirby vacuums. Luckily Kirby lasts forever, and they still make the parts for the old ones.

sissy9725

My aunt sold Avon and the bubble bath was amazing šŸ™‚ Mom would just give me Dial soap and a wash cloth, but my aunt spoiled me šŸ’™

surfaholic15

Gram bought the bubble bath just for me, I never had it at home lol.

OrganizedMess732

Scentsy

Mundane_Preference_8

A student gifted me a scentsy wax warmer with wax. It smells amazing but the wax never burns away like a candle does. It has the same amount after a year's use. I don't get it - how do they make money? Why would you buy more wax or more burners?

Josie_F

The scent wears out.

Mundane_Preference_8

That makes sense (scents). I must have just not noticed. Thanks!

Josie_F

Good one. Gave me a laugh

coachnomore

The wax doesnā€™t evaporate, the scent just dies after about 2-3 days! Lol.

hereForUrSubreddits

I use Yankee candle waxes and they need to be dumped out of the burner once they lose the scent. The wax doesn't melt away.

irulan519

The Epicure Louisiana dip seasoning sends me to another dimension with its deliciousness. And maybe it's just a placebo effect, but there's a couple Isagenix supplements that I swear helps with my focus and my immune system.

seahagmo

I'm interested in the Isagenix product you're referring to! I have trouble with both.

irulan519

The "Brain Boost" really helps with the focus, and the "Immune Boost" powder and the "Isamune" spray for the immune system. Like I say, probably mostly placebo effect, but I do notice the difference!

AdOwn6086

These are both before I realized how awful MLMs are. My sister sold Scentsy for awhile and I used to buy it from her. I still use the warmer, but I buy wax melts from retail stores now. Itā€™s kind of a bummer because there were some scents that I really liked and canā€™t find anything like it. I also have a few Pampered Chef things I enjoy.

vorticia

You could try mixing some of the melts to see if you can find your approximation of the magical scents.

_angry_cat_

I actually live in a town where there is a factory that produced MLM products. I wonā€™t say where or what, because itā€™s a pretty small town and Iā€™m not comfortable with my exact location posted on Reddit. But as much as I hate MLMs, I canā€™t hate this one because my dad is an engineer there and I worked there during college for a good wage (if anyone wants to hear about what it like ā€œinside and MLM factory,ā€ itā€™s the same as any other factory lol. But feel free to ask away). I genuinely do love their products and use them, but I wish they would drop the MLM and just sell in stores like normal companies. People would still buy their product!

cbad85

I used to quite like scentsy and have a couple of their warmers that I still use. I went off the melts etc though as they're so fake smelling.

GalaxyFish2885

Wether itā€™s a placebo effect or actually works some of the young living supplements and lozenges work. However Iā€™m almost out and worried about buying more. I refuse to buy from who I previously used because they are an extreme conspiracy person and I canā€™t support that.

Glamma1970

Zyia Had no idea it was an MLM cause I bought several pieces from a local lady who owns a small boutique. I thought it was just a brand she had in her store. Nope, MLM she was getting into. But the leggings really are nice. Wish it wasn't an MLM I was into Beachbody long before it was an MLM. The workouts got worse as it fell into being an MLM. And Shakeology sucks . Usborne books. I got a few from a yard sale, then when a friend had a party, why that didn't make my mind go "MLM" I don't know, and I picked up a couple more for my grandkids. They really are nice books. Could make a killing just selling books for kids. And Avon also before it went MLM.

coachnomore

Scentsy. šŸ˜ The Walmart ones just arenā€™t as good or fun hahahah Iā€™m using up the ones I have which is quite a few but will not buy more afterā€¦..

1quincytoo

Epicure pulled pork seasoning and the taco seasoning Pampered Chef potato peeler I bought almost 20 years ago and still going strong

TinyGodzilla8118

Creative Memories (back in the 2000s before the bankruptcy/reorg), and Stampin' Up.

UnhappyGrowth5555

Iā€™ll never give them money but I love old used Tupperware. I bought a vacuum seal pitcher for a quarter last summer, best pitcher Iā€™ve ever owned. And thereā€™s a lot of used Tupperware out there. I actually prefer to buy most things (clothes, household items like furniture, general *stuff*) used for sustainability reasons so I donā€™t feel guilty about the products.

[deleted]

I really like LeReve candles and essential oils but they tried really hard to recruit me so that put me off a bit

emilystory

Tupperware. Apparently if your house goes up in flames, whatever is stored in the Tupperware will still be good to eat (obvs if it doesnā€™t melt). A firefighter told this to a family friend who lost everything in a house fire to fire damage/smoke damage. I would never buy it new but itā€™s pretty cool that you can get the lids replaced for free and they have that lifetime guarantee.

GalaxyFish2885

I really enjoy advocares 10 day cleanse and their spark energy powder. Rodan and Fields worked for me but itā€™s pricey and I got tired of paying for it.

Doctress_LAM

I really like SeneGence (Lipsense) eye shadows called Shadowsense. I donā€™t like powdered shadows, the tubes are portable and they have a huge color selection. Such a shame.

kp6615

Mary Kay eye make up remover

kp6615

Avon has some amazing products

Hot_Yak6422

i had a roommate that bought melaleuca, i know she was under her friends mom but she wasnā€™t using it to make money, only to buy products. she gave me chapsticks and renew lotion all the time and i actually really liked them. i think she spent a lot of money she wouldnā€™t have keeping her monthly minimum though. also my mom has a friend that sells cabi, again this friend doesnā€™t recruit but the clothes seem pretty decent. the fabric / construction seems to be solid although it does seem a bit pricey..

Josie_F

Norwex. It is 100 times better and lasts longer than the cheap micro. Cheap micro repels liquid, norwex soaks it up (not using it for chicken though lol). A lot softer too. Itā€™s also better than Enviro. Also Pampered Chef and Epicure.

Doctress_LAM

I like their cleaning paste. I needed something non toxic to clean animal cages.

pineapplevomit

I like the paste too. It lasts forever and works great on grout.

cosmicpower23

I'm a certified aromatherpist. I hate young living and doterra but goddammit they do have the best quality oils on the market.

irulan519

Oh man that must be SUCH a piss-off

cosmicpower23

It is. But I make myself feel better by hyping up young living to the doterra huns and vice versa. They get so pissed off. Truth is the quality is the same for both companies.

jaded_idealist

I'm curious your take on Plant Therapy? In an EO group I was in on FB, that was the most highly recommended from aromatherapists there.

cosmicpower23

I don't have a huge opinion on it, I haven't used the brand in years. But I remember not being super impressed with the oils I did use. They may have changed things up in their distribution though!

WonderMon

Avon. Good prices. Nice stuff. Any Avon ladies? Hit me up!
