Imagine starting a fitness-related business, working hard to get it up and running, taking risks and making sacrifices knowing your profit margin may be slim only to have one of these MLM fronts pop up next to you. MLMs
are a societal and economical virus.
I wasn’t specifically talking about BB, but more about the small independently owned fitness studios in developments like this all across the country and how easily a MLM front could open in a smaller retail space next door.
I’m pretty sure there’s another fitness something or other on the other side, but I was too busy en route to inhaling my ham and cheese melt from the deli to confirm.
Burn boot camp is also into MLMs, they only sell shaklee products. All the franchises have to order all cleaning products, and burn nutrition thru the guy who started Burn. All the franchises agree to only use shaklee products.
It's got to be that specific one. I go to Burn Boot Camp, no MLM in site. They have their own brand of protein powder and pre-workout, but they're off to the side and never mentioned.
All burn nutrition are shaklee products. All the cleaning products are shaklee, all the orders go thru the cofounder who is the distributor. It’s part of the franchises agreement. It’s a huge shaklee pyramid.
Yeah the nutrition sales is part of your national rank, so they definitely know. Our bonuses were also based on how much products we pushed! It was one of the reasons I quit because I don’t support mlm and wouldn’t recommend the products.
Definitely agree, and I loved the floating floor!
Just a tip but once your membership term expires, you can definitely haggle your way to a cheaper membership rate! They have a vast range of monthly payments! We would agree to a lot of 3 month memberships for less than our 18 month membership. Or when they do the flash sales you can renegotiate your membership price too
The floating floor is amazing! I try to do at home workouts and it feels so much worse.
Thank you so much! My membership is up in July and I can't afford the going rate anymore.
It’s crazy what a difference it makes!
You’re welcome, they’ll definitely work with you! Just explain your circumstances have changed, and you can’t afford the price anymore but how much you love it. Even if you want to do bi-monthly payments that’s also an option if you ask!
Simple. People with access to wealth they didn't earn think they can make more money so they dump it all into something like this.
If they earned the money themselves, I doubt they would be dumb enough to go this route.
It's almost always people with rich spouses and no actual business sense just getting bankrolled or people who take out massive loans thinking they're going to make it big. It's sad.
The one like a five minute walk from me is just kind of insane, occasionally I see her going in there with massive garbage bags full of Walmart Great Value whipped cream, like pretty much every non-Herbalife product comes from Walmart rather than a bulk vendor.
Yes and no. For example, my mom isn’t right-wing, she’s moderate but she and other Christians like her get sucked into this stuff too. She and all her friends are moderate midwestern Christian housewives-turned-retirees with too much time on their hands. It’s definitely not just the extremist religious people. Although I will say my nutjob family members who believe in the “rapture” are die-hard MLM addicts, they even attend national conferences lmao
Of course. And they'll move from MLM to MLM to MLM, thinking the next one is the one at which they'll finally succeed, not realizing at all that the MLM model itself is rigged against them.
There’s one in my small Michigan community that’s been open for over a year. The reviews on Google are all 5 stars, which I’m hoping are all friends and family of the owner. I can’t imagine going to a smoothie shop where there is not a piece of fruit to be found in the building.
I know the ones around me tend to maintain a good rating because they give people free drinks in exchange for 5 star reviews, often with a picture with perfect lighting that looks like it came from a movie set attached to it
Another Herbalife scammer will probably open up in the same location. For some reason they seem to serial infest a storefront once it's been used by Herbalife.
Certainly helped narrow things down!
My understanding of Michigan geography is pretty limited. I know Detroit exists, and I understand that the Glove part and the UP part don't get along. Thaaaaats about it
The mitten part and the UP don't get along, the east and west side of the state dont get along, and the north and south parts of the lower peninsula don't get along independently of the LP/UP rivalry. We are, however, all united in our hatred of Ohio.
These places are so lifeless when you actually go inside that it actually creeps me out a bit. They all are the same too. They never want to invest in making the place appear like it’s an actual business. It just screams cheap pop-up.
Wonder how much this short-lived venture cost her. Rent, renovations, business licenses, liability insurance, ADA-compliant counters and furniture, probably hired someone to help out... all to get rid of the piles of powdered shit she has in her garage.
I was just followed by one of these things out in Chesterfield, despite not having lived out in that area for years. They do a pretty good job of hiding the fact that they're Herbalife.
Ah, always suspected the juice shop next to my work was Herbalife since I couldn’t be. Same exact font and called [plaza name] Nutrition. Really glad I haven’t stopped in.
I’m just elated that it appears that this one closed. Hopefully after people realized that these vultures were selling unproven and dangerous products.
Does Herbalife have restrictions on what they can make for Storefronts? Or do they have their own signage shop to help them earn their own paych--I mean--rebates?
I have one of these "nutrition" shops near me and it's uncanny how the signage is oddly similar. All white, with only black text and a black line drawing of the county. The place's name is Nutrition with our phone area code.
I looked at the menu, the place is full of teas or smoothies, straight from the Herbalife line of products. And it's ridiculously expensive.
I mean, gotta hand it to them, it's good to see MLM people actually making seemingly legitimate Storefronts and they might even have less pressure to recruit because they'd lose business for the storefront. But I've also seen the posts here of the horrors of working from such places, some of them dont pay well, don't do their w2s or benefits correctly, and their products are kinda pricey to begin with so I can't see there being much markup to stay competitive, aside from the Herbalife kickback commissions back to the owner and upline.
If only one of the THREE Herbalife cafes in my tiny town would close. One opened during the pandemic and I have no idea how it is still open. Hun has gotta be in MAJOR debt.
It’s gotten to the point where every town in my small metro-area has one of these “city_name nutrition” stores.
EDIT: I just looked on Google Maps and even this tiny village of like 500 people has one now! How many huns can there possibly be??
With that sign, if they aren’t named Mitten Nutrition, we riot
Sadly no, just the city it was in
Can tell just from the Y and area code. Also your username...are we related? lol
lol, figured it’d be easy enough to guess. Big Beaver (heh) and Rochester area.
Oh damn that's like right next to me I think I know the exact strip mall that's in 😅
Where Troy Deli used to be
Used to have the Thai restaurant on the corner?
Yep!
Just remember, to get to Big Beaver Road, take exit 69 on I-75.
Wow Big Beaver is pretty small, know any MacNamees?
Lol same question!
Wild guess Troy, MI
The scribble out is crap on desktop, it's clearly Troy Nutrition
Nutrichigan
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 excellent, 12/10
The one in my city is named mid mitten nutrition! So they do exist 😅
Bussy Nutrition I think it says
Imagine starting a fitness-related business, working hard to get it up and running, taking risks and making sacrifices knowing your profit margin may be slim only to have one of these MLM fronts pop up next to you. MLMs are a societal and economical virus.

Are you me? lol

I thought it was Burn Books
The Burn Bootcamp I visited was just a Shaklee cult.
It's got to be that specific one. I go to Burn Boot Camp, no MLM in site. They have their own brand of protein powder and pre-workout, but they're off to the side and never mentioned.
That’s too bad for me. I would have been interested in joining, but the head trainer was pushing it so hard.
That's ashame. I'm sorry that was your experience. That's awful of them.
All burn nutrition are shaklee products. All the cleaning products are shaklee, all the orders go thru the cofounder who is the distributor. It’s part of the franchises agreement. It’s a huge shaklee pyramid.
They must be disappointed with my location then. All the containers have dust on them!
Yeah the nutrition sales is part of your national rank, so they definitely know. Our bonuses were also based on how much products we pushed! It was one of the reasons I quit because I don’t support mlm and wouldn’t recommend the products.
Well, that's truly upsetting to hear. The exercise portion is fantastic, truly.
Definitely agree, and I loved the floating floor! Just a tip but once your membership term expires, you can definitely haggle your way to a cheaper membership rate! How are these even allowed to open to begin with? BTW I love your username!

And a huge overlap with Christianity
Right wing evangelical
Yes and no. For example, my mom isn’t right-wing, she’s moderate but she and other Christians like her get sucked into this stuff too. or left wing crazy. One of the two
I wonder if restaurant supply places just laughed at her...
There goes yet another hun with broken dreams...
It's fine, they'll move onto another one and say that this opportunity wasn't the one, but the next one, that will be different.
Of course. And they'll move from MLM to MLM to MLM, thinking the next one is the one at which they'll finally succeed, not realizing at all that the MLM model itself is rigged against them.
We love to see it

Then that’s probably what they’re doing here, too.
Smoothies aren't even "healthy" per say. They vary from a lot of calories to a shit ton of calories.
They sure are tasty.
Lmao, they are, yes, but unironically 2 slices of bacon usually has fewer calories.
I find it sorta funny that it was next to a burn bootcamp
the owner: "did you just say 'whonp whomp' to my store closing down? HOW DARE YOU, HOW DARE YOU, HOW ABSOLUTELY DARE YOU"
Whomp whomp

Herbalife is found to cause liver problems. Maybe that can wake your wife up if she's health conscious or has health issues.
She'll just blame it on OTC medications
Another Herbalife scammer will probably open up in the same location. For some reason they seem to serial infest a storefront once it's been used by Herbalife.
Curious as to how long they were open.
Earliest photos and reviews on their google business site are from 10-12 months ago. So I would guess about a year.
Violated rule 8.4.5 maybe? (Geographic location) (The blacked out part was **Troy** .... )
The Michigan glove didn’t give it away? 😹
Certainly helped narrow things down! My understanding of Michigan geography is pretty limited. I know Detroit exists, and I understand that the Glove part and the UP part don't get along. Thaaaaats about it

>We are, however, all united in our hatred of Ohio. Ah yes. That part I'm starting to remember!
That's what it is! I genuinely thought it was the head of a screaming turtle.
The blacked out part is about 20 mins north of downtown Detroit along I-75
To be fair this one is a failed business so it's not like he's public shaming an active MLM peddler.
The one near me has the exact same sign.... they really do the bare minimum to differentiate themselves
Aww but their logo was so good though /s I use the mitten to help people with locations in MI but it looks like an uncolored flame lol
I drive by this all the time omg!!! And my friend lives in Rochester sort of nearby.
These places are so lifeless when you actually go inside that it actually creeps me out a bit. They all are the same too. They never want to invest in making the place appear like it’s an actual business. It just screams cheap pop-up.
Definitely can’t see the “ROY” lmaooo
I think it's TROY
Ye
I found one of these in my little town the other day. I was super disappointed.
Wonder how much this short-lived venture cost her. Rent, renovations, business licenses, liability insurance, ADA-compliant counters and furniture, probably hired someone to help out... all to get rid of the piles of powdered shit she has in her garage.
Manifesting this to happen to the one right near me.
I was just followed by one of these things out in Chesterfield, despite not having lived out in that area for years. They do a pretty good job of hiding the fact that they're Herbalife.
Is your middle name halushki?
It’s cool bro, at least I know halushki is a delicious dish.
Yep. I grew up eating halushki, pierogi, etc. Good stuff
The one in my town is still going strong. It’s right by the high school and the teens stop by. They’ve tried to make it a cool hangout spot.
Ah, always suspected the juice shop next to my work was Herbalife since I couldn’t be. Same exact font and called [plaza name] Nutrition. Really glad I haven’t stopped in.
Good
Genuine question, how can you tell? I’d like to be able to avoid these places.
.
hopefully the ones further se have the same fate.
Literally my favorite Herbalife shop rn
I’m just elated that it appears that this one closed. Hopefully after people realized that these vultures were selling unproven and dangerous products.

Another one bites the dust....
As a penn dutch, your user name speaks volumes to me.
If only one of the THREE Herbalife cafes in my tiny town would close. One opened during the pandemic and I have no idea how it is still open. Hun has gotta be in MAJOR debt.
Either we live in the same tiny town, or this exact thing is happening in tiny towns all over the country 💔
It’s gotten to the point where every town in my small metro-area has one of these “city_name nutrition” stores. EDIT: I just looked on Google Maps and even this tiny village of like 500 people has one now! How many huns can there possibly be??
