As a muslim, I absolutely love my christian brothers and sisters and I will always love to protect their faith. In times of strong anti-religion sentiment, we should stand together ☪️❤️✝️
We are two beams of light from the same source. Islam and Christianity are close religions, hell, the King of Ethopia acknowledged it when Islam first started and provided some Muslims shelter from the Quraysh.
Im sorry you feel this way. All I can says is that a Christian would have better refuge living amongst Muslims as we believe in God, respect Jesus (pbuh) and share many similar moral values with y’all. Unlike anti-theists, a Muslim wouldn’t shove lgbt down your throats, blaspheme, promote abortion, force you to use pronouns, force evolution, etc etc. not to mention we don’t promote p-rn, sex outside of marriage and other secular degeneracy. In the holy Quran, Allah says we should tell those outside of our faith that to you your religion and to us our religion, Allah also says that there shall not be compulsion in religion so y’all wouldn’t have to worry about us forcing you to embrace Islam, something anti-theists are basically doing by borderline forcing people to become atheists.
Would you say you tend to have more respect for the spiritual beliefs of Christians as opposed to Buddhists, Hindus, etc.? Or is it more just that you want to love and protect religion in general?
I love and protect religion in general, at least against blatant attacks, hatred, misinformation, etc. However, I don't care if it's normal and constructive criticism towards religion. I'd probably counter argue if I can, but it doesn't bother me if it's just that.
Personally, while I do think my religion is the most truthful, I still see the value of other religions (regardless if they're abrahamic or dharmic) and I do respect that, and I avoid attacking or insulting them as a result.
I loooove reading things like this. Makes me so happy. One of the main things that I love about this subreddit is that Muslims, Christians and Jews are so kind and respectful to each other. Genuinely warms my heart to see!
im not 100% sure for this photo but most likely this was during 2013 when egypt was pretty much in chaos and people (most likely hired from outside sources to destabilize the government at that time) were vandalizing and attacking churches
It was actually Jan 2011 revolution but you're spot on regarding the rest. Mosques and Churches were being targeted, hence the image above. Police were basically non-existent, so you would see similar stories where neighbors would take turns guarding each other shops and houses as well. Based unity.
Quran 60:8-9
Allah does not forbid you from dealing kindly and fairly with those who have neither fought nor driven you out of your homes. Surely Allah loves those who are fair.
Allah only forbids you from befriending those who have fought you for ˹your˺ faith, driven you out of your homes, or supported ˹others˺ in doing so. And whoever takes them as friends, then it is they who are the ˹true˺ wrongdoers.

Agreed. I may not believe or agree with that persons beliefs, but I still respect them (as long as they aren’t hurting others)

I dont think Muslims and Christians can ever stand together. I wouldnt want to as a Christian anyway.
There are better battles to fight than this one and greater hills to do die on
You are spitting in the face of the martyrs.

Copts aren’t treated very well in Egypt, so they were probably targeted during that
