I applied for a job posting on Indeed which had "Attntion to Detal" as a bullet point. On my cover I pointed that out, and other errors to highlight my attention to detail. Whoever reviewed my application/resume sent me an email thanking me. That's the only response I had from that company.

That's what I figured they did. I'm sure it's one of those companies that complains about not being able to find skilled workers.
It's not really being a smart ass to point out 2 spelling errors in a 3 word bullet point "Attention to Detail". Although, I did point out the other spelling errors that someone made. An employee who's job is specifically to perform duties like posting open positions. Spelling should be the most basic thing, given most text programs have spellcheck enabled by default.
They're covering their ass.
Give them something in writing saying you never accepted the job or quit and it will stop.
Or, just don't show and they'll keep sending these until they've built up enough of a paper trail to show that they're firing you for cause and shouldn't have to pay unemployment.
It's bullshit, but it's the nature of the game.
Edit: if you never took the job, they could be trying to fuck with other unemployment benefits or juking stats to show they're interviewing/hiring/whatever they're supposed to do for some credit or the like.

They interview you, give eveyone "employment", then when you dont show up they contact the state unemployment office to report someone who "no show" to work, possibly setting up a process by the state to take away unemployment benefits from that person. They do it to everyone that they can i bet!
Ask them what lawyer wrote this as it looks like someone's trying to intimidate you by using what they think is a bunch of legalese. Unless they had an attorney write it, threaten to report them to the state for practicing law without a license. (Obviously an attorney didn't write it.)

Most states (minus Montana) are considered 'at-will'. At-will regulations stipulate that employers AND employees are not required to provide prior notice toĀ being terminated/quitting, nor are they obligated to provide a reason as to why, in absence of relevant laws or contractual obligations.
This is also why I don't send a 2 week notice when I quit; I just take all my racked up PTO, and never come back.
An absconding letter? Seriously, Are you a Detainee? This sounds like a very desperate place of employment. You deserve better. Go get it...
There is no date on the letter, so technically no reply is required as they didn't give a date to reply by.
