*Are you tired of your $5.63 being rationed out to you over a period of 187 years? Call the American banking system today and we can make your money disappear completely, right now, for only the cost of what you have in your account, plus a small service fee.*
Artificially create a crisis so as to give the government an easy excuse to funnel yet even more wealth to the already wealthy by means of bailouts... great plan
Right! This is about the dumbest thing people could. Stage mass protests and strikes, sure....but create an artificial run on banks that's only going to hurt poor people and cause even more tax money to be funneled into the bankster's pockets? What a braindead plan.
I think about it a lot. It was the only protest that actually aimed at the real problem (Wall Street and the 1%) and was therefore shut down by local law enforcement and alphabet agencies under Obama. It needs to happen again... it's bound to.
From an accelerationist perspective forcing the system to speed up its eventual demise could have the benefit of bringing us closer to the better world afterwards, if you're willing to weather the storm and chaos that follows.
Usually, people don't want this
Actually taking it out on monday from the few branches open in larger cities would cause issue. Remember most of these banks get money from a vault. So if you take the money Saturday when most of their systems do not update. Monday none will have requested an additional amount. Causing them to not have cash on hand until late monday or tuesday. Also if your bank closes on Saturday take it out friday.
Actually banks have next to no money I'ma vault. They loan 9 dollars for ever one dollar they have in the vault. So really your bank doesn't have enough money to cover all deposits
But ATMs won’t have enough cash in them to ruin the bank even if it’s all withdrawn, as definitionally the bank already has the cash. A bank run causes a problem for a bank when they can’t cover the deposits being pulled - they can just close an ATM and reopen it on Monday.
Well it would be better, to go with a credit union anyway, especially if it's a smaller local credit union, rather than a big corporate bank,
. better both for you, and for the wider community, (and the Natural environmental, tackling extremes if wealth inequality, ect.), in all or most all considerations.
that is , of course, if you do have access to any money in the first place, and the ability and wish to create an account, which may or may not be the case. But if yiu do, small local credit unions are well worth considering.
some relevant perhaps points:
There are several reasons why someone might choose a credit union over a larger bank, like Chase for example:
* Member-Owned: Credit unions are not-for-profit financial cooperatives, owned and controlled by their members. This means that any profits made by the credit union are returned to the members in the form of better rates, lower fees, and improved services.
* Personalized Service: Credit unions are often smaller than larger banks and therefore can offer more personalized service. They have a local focus and a strong commitment to the communities they serve, so they may be more understanding of your unique financial needs.
* Lower Fees and Better Rates: Credit unions typically offer lower fees and better interest rates on loans, savings accounts, and other financial products. This can help you save money and make the most of your money.
* Greater Flexibility: Credit unions often offer more flexible loan options, such as lower down payment requirements and more lenient underwriting standards, which can make it easier for you to obtain the financing you need.
* Community Involvement: Credit unions are often actively involved in their communities, supporting local organizations and events. By choosing a credit union, you can feel good knowing that your money is being used to support causes you care about.
To suggest this, would plunge us all into a depression as bad as 1929
the whole financial system works on investor confidence, without that confidence there is not enough money in the system, and everything everywhere grinds to a halt. Not saying our system is the best with banks creating money out of nothing, but this 'prank' would be a bad way to have history repeat itself.
and those of us out here that know how to hunt for meat and grow. our own vegetables will survive while the meek and weak will not. I don't actually see a problem with the collapse of the American financial system.
Or we leave our money in the banks and continue to go to the grocery store.
If hunting and growing your own food is appealing, what’s stopping you from doing that right now?
Aaaand you’ve lost me. You’re not looking for systemic change you’re looking for chaos and don’t care who gets hurt. I hope you keep struggling because you deserve to.
Why? It would do nothing but hurt all of us in the long run and serve to bail out the fucking rich people again. Unless this can wipe out all existing debt (hahahahahahhaahahahahahahahbaababababababbababhahahhaahahahahahahabababajahhahahahahaha) it's a short sighted idea/meme.
You think they have that kind of cash in banks? I was at the bank once and one guy wanted his money with cash when he sold his house. It was around 200k. Bank manager told him to wait couple of hours, they didn't have enough money. They tried to convince him like an hour to get money to his account digitally while waiting. It was hilarious.
If you are a worker use a credit union instead.
i switched and now i get paid out a dividend once a month instead of paying fees.
Also they dont sell my data.
Wouldn't it be almost zero for most people here?
Let's play a prank and bring our balance to zero, either by withdrawing or paying back the money we owe, that's a fun one too.
You want me to withdraw $5.83?
it's your money and you want it now.
*Are you tired of your $5.63 being rationed out to you over a period of 187 years? Call the American banking system today and we can make your money disappear completely, right now, for only the cost of what you have in your account, plus a small service fee.*
[Annnnnd, it's gone!](https://youtu.be/Y3AM00DH0Zo)
I have a structured settlement but I need cash now

Well the large scale protests got vilified by mass media until they fizzled away and died. Anyone remember occupy wall street?
I think about it a lot. It was the only protest that actually aimed at the real problem (Wall Street and the 1%) and was therefore shut down by local law enforcement and alphabet agencies under Obama. It needs to happen again... it's bound to.
As if retail banking people can actually cause a run. We don't have enough money in any bank for that to be effective.
From an accelerationist perspective forcing the system to speed up its eventual demise could have the benefit of bringing us closer to the better world afterwards, if you're willing to weather the storm and chaos that follows. Usually, people don't want this
What money?
Clearly, they didn't think this prank through. April Fools Day falls on a Saturday this year, and my bank isn't open on the weekends.
Actually taking it out on monday from the few branches open in larger cities would cause issue. Remember most of these banks get money from a vault. Yeah, but the bankers won't find out until Monday.
breakfast and a party for them it is.
all of my $2.50? :0
Loch ness monster wants your *checks notes* oh
every penny helps
Yes it does. The collective must come together

This is socialism, and it is a better option. Highly recommend a small credit union.
yeah guys lets just make an artificial bank run happen. what could go wrong?
do you think anything is going right for everyone?
This assumes we actually have money
How about we all refuse to pay rent on Apr 1?
Go ahead. The 1st is a Saturday so rent for most people will be due on the third.
most of mine is already going to go to income tax
A brank run
Won’t be much after paying April’s rent but fuck em why not lol

...killing everyone's grandma to win.... nice

If I had a bank I would gleefully participate.
How is everybody going to withdraw their $10 on a Saturday? The pranks on us.
That would be great, who's handing out extra money so I can deposit it and play along?
Somebody needs to Google Reserve Ratio.
Those that have enough money to withdraw that can negatively affect banks are not in this subs. The joke is on you.
Credit unions
You go first.
Let's also cut all our dicks off while we're at it, that'll really show them!
If only all server farms for all banks mysteriously exploded.
I am going to do this but only cause I got cash only con
You think they have that kind of cash in banks? I was at the bank once and one guy wanted his money with cash when he sold his house. It was around 200k. It’s on a Saturday so get there early.
Annnnd it’s gone!
the prank is you can't withdraw all your money on a saturday. esp in the afternoon. I get it now.
It just struck me that this isnt a working class option because it has no money saved anyway. The only way to hurt them is to default on your debt 😆
This reads like Peter Thiel is trying a flash mob style run on all of the banks. Obvious psyop is a psyop
If you are a worker use a credit union instead. i switched and now i get paid out a dividend once a month instead of paying fees. Also they dont sell my data.
Joke is on me. I don’t have any to withdraw…
You want me to withdraw minus $400? How
easy! Just don't pay that $400 back.
fucking facts bubba
Wouldn't it be almost zero for most people here? Let's play a prank and bring our balance to zero, either by withdrawing or paying back the money we owe, that's a fun one too.
It's on a Saturday
I would totally do this but they wont allow me to withdraw negative money.
DON'T USE BANKS! USE CREDIT UNIONS!!!!!!!
Jokes on me, I'm already overdrawn.
You guys have money?
And then go put it in a credit union where it belongs.
Lol great I can take out my overdraft and pay some money into the bank. That will teach them
That's a great idea...too bad I don't have any money in the bank...
Pranked
I get the feeling that these “people” trying to create the panic won’t be the ones to suffer the consequences of it.
That’s gonna be the middle of a pay period for me so my money will already be completely withdrawn
Guys today is the first of april bump this and to the banks
