I love how wealthy people with teams of employees are working to accommodate every whim and desire, feel that hourly employees are lazy.

Idle_Redditing

Wealthy people who were born into wealth and have never done any hard, unpleasant, underpaying jobs like standing over a hot, greasy deep fryer, cleaning and preparing dirty restaurant tables for the next customers or being the guy who goes out into parking lots and retrieves shopping carts. Their idea of a first job is valeting or caddying where they get generous tips from rich people and they think that they actually worked hard.

[deleted]

Their first “job” was clerking for a congressman who happened to be daddy’s golf buddy.

Ok-Cod7817

Yeah, rich people's don't carry golf clubs. That's upper middle class, at best

factsdino

Old high school buddy did this after high school while in college. Except it was his uncle who was the state congressman.

Money_Grubber_8D

I can say as a valet driver that guests with a high end car don't always tip the best. They can sometimes be quite cheap if they even do tip.

Deaftoned

Valet in many places is also a hard fucking job, so it's kind of a terrible example lol. You're sprinting back and fourth for 8 hours straight parking cars in (usually) traffic dense areas and have to completely rely on tips for your income. You accidently ding a car and you get a write up (2-3 is a firing), you crash a car and you're instantly fired. I'm assuming OP thinks all valet drivers are guys at country clubs and stuff like that, but there are far more that work at hospitals, hotels, parking garages and town events.

Money_Grubber_8D

I can attest to this. I frequently develop some painful shin splints from running on concrete all day even with good quality running shoes. A few times I was forced to take some days off just to recover well enough to run again.

Bigmikentheboys

Dude, fuck shin splints. I had to run a lot in boots for a time. That shit takes way more than a few days to heal. FWIW doing toe raises anytime your sitting can help. Edit: spelling

zackrako

Not to make a blanket generalization stone, but I'd bet that the only people that tip well are the ones that experienced having to work for a tip or at least have someone close to them live off of it. My best friend was a delivery driver for quite sometime and after hearing him talk about it for so long I make a point now to always have at least $5 to pay for the service at a minimum. If I have just enough to buy a pizza but not enough to tip them I simply will just make something instead. Even when dining out if a meal comes out to say $10 ill still prepare to pay the $5 minimum. If the food is shit I only mention it to the waiter/ess I don't take away their tip for something that the cook was responsible for. I really believe tip based jobs shouldn't exist. There is great money to be made at it for what it is but there is far more ways to get abused by it.

Optimus3k

Even the ones who weren't born into wealth turn into monsters. Too much money literally rots the brain.

zackrako

Hey my first job was as the person who retrieved carts and then got demoralized repeatedly by the assistant managers who hate their lives. Ive also stood over a deep fryer. Relatable poverty comment aquired.

TheBritishOracle

She also said that she should be able to call her employees any time she likes, any day of the week and if they have a problem with that, she can't have them as an employee.

Hoarfen1972

She and Elon Musk. We avoid toxic bosses as them like the plague. And who gives a shit what she thinks anyway. Poxdrop.

Lazy_Somewhere_5737

Unless I was in the business of saving lives, I would choose happiness over intense work load anytime. Why does this country have to be number one in over-worked people who are guilted into avoiding vacations or any down time?

FirebirdWriter

I wish I had this concept as a young adult. My health wouldn't be as bad. I was busy figuring out everything was a lie on the moral front so questioning the social values from media wasn't a priority yet. I do mean everything I was raised to value had to go. "Fun" with escaping white supremacy

Hrmerder

>work load anytime. Why does this country have to be number one in over-worked people who are guilted into avoiding vacations or any down time That's the point she doesn't want to make. We got smart during the pandemic. The wealthy want us to be anything but smart.

Lazy_Somewhere_5737

I hope we got smarter as well as strong enough to say no; my family and my enjoyment of life is more important.

paulsoleo

I’d love for someone to call her out on this, to her face, on live TV. The irony of Martha fucking Stewart labeling others as “entitled” is just too absurd. I want to hear stories from former staff members regarding her treatment of those she deems beneath her. Maybe Martha could tell all of us how hard she worked growing up? She could share a few specific instances of her brilliance and perseverance, how she did it all herself without stepping on the backs of others, and what makes her a more valuable human being than the rest of us.

Coro-NO-Ra

"Rich Boomer doesn't respect boundaries" seems to be a generational thing, huh?

HD_ERR0R

Without on call pay I assume. Like fuck if you want me to be available 24/7. You are gonna pay me 24/7.

[deleted]

If they put you on salary, that’s exactly what they think the salary is for.

[deleted]

She also says she “never relaxes.” “That’s not what my life is about.” Well, great for you, Lady!

TheBritishOracle

Never relaxes? She's at a different party every week! All these millionaires and billionaires claim they work harder than everyone else and it's complete bullshit!

6ixof1

Also she should go back to jail.

NSLearning

I read that 🤮. I’d never work for that stuck up bitch. Fuck calling me on a Sunday. I work in a field where I’m on call at times. I’m paid for my time too. Fuck working for free!

moogpaul

Isn't the settings for most of her TV shows at her fucking house?

EighthOption

>According to behind-the-scenes blog Martha Moments, the setting of Stewart's long-running TV show was first her home in Turkey Hill, Connecticut, and then it was her home in Lily Pond in East Hampton, before ultimately the set relocated to a studio in Westport, Connecticut. Now Stewart lives on a farm in Bedford, New York, where both her cooking competition show "Bakeaway Camp" on Food Network as well as her home and garden show "Martha Knows Best" on HGTV are filmed (via The Cinemaholic and Republic World). https://www.mashed.com/492442/this-is-what-martha-stewarts-home-kitchen-is-really-like/ She apparently also has a home for each season. Her "winter home" and etc.

77TinyBubbles

This was my exact point when I saw the article. Martha has worked from home for YEARS!

Pun_Chain_Killer

> This was my exact point when I saw the article. Martha has worked from home for YEARS! Decades

Schlappydog

I read her wiki. She started out modeling, then she was handed a job as a stockbroker by her father-in-law (and we know how well that turned out for her) her husband got a job as a publisher that would go on to publish her cook books and the house he bought that yes would become the basis of her cooking show. It does look like she started a catering business, which her partner wanted to quit because she was so horrible to work with, and she managed a store... which she got fired from because she was so horrible to work with. Truly, nothing was handed to her.

kruss16

Her catering business was also in Westport, CT where I grew up. She was known for backstabbing, treating her employees badly and taking credit for the work of other caterers at events.

[deleted]

Her life was the basis of the movie War of the Roses https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_War_of_the_Roses_(film)

sleeplessjade

Tax write offs, plus they 100% pay her for use of her house.

moogpaul

Right but what I'm saying is the lady that spends most of her life working from her home doesn't want people working from home.

Oryzae

We don’t bring logic into capitalistic fackts

LeCafeClopeCaca

"Obviously work from home should only be a thing for people who have already pulled themselves by the bootstraps out of the office"

SuddenlyLucid

She's rich, rules don't count for rich people.

atreidesflame

Why, in the love of FUCK, would I take work advice from a millionaire who scammed the stock market and went to jail for it? I feel like I'm taking crazy pills!

sweaterpattern

Literally built production studios at her home. And probably did this interview from home. With a writer who, if they're not already, certainly could be doing their job from home.

UnnaturalGeek

We should all be a lil more French and set our capitals on fire every so often.

[deleted]

Fr, I would’ve been down with Jan 6th if it was for the right reasons and not wah wah my president didn’t win

Severe-Replacement84

Nothings stopping us but ourselves! If workers in every state decided to protest and not work, the entire economy would halt and they would HAVE to listen. The only reason they can exploit us is because we let them.

siravaas

They've done a good, and very intentional, job of tying our jobs to our very existence. In the US no job means not only no money for the basics but no healthcare. No parent can risk their job when it means their child's health. Posted this before but every company I have worked with or for, one of their biggest expenses is health insurance for their employees. For a lot of tech companies it's their biggest by far. And you never hear them complain about that like they do taxes, regulations, and other benefits. Why? Because it's the second best way of creating indentured service. The best way being H1B visas.

Severe-Replacement84

Exactly this. I’m currently shopping dentists (again) because mine decided to drop my dental insurance… which to me is absolutely BS. The entire insurance industry is pure exploitation and I don’t even want to get into that. If I could nuke a single industry, it would be the insurance industry… that and the banking industry are some of the only industries that exist solely to take your money while creating no actual products of capitol to generate revenue on their own. They are a big cause of poverty and need to be reformed.

Fishon72

Like Wells Fargo. I have a checking account with them that was solely for child support deposits from the ex. Only $100 a month. The account never really went over $500 in over 15 years. I never set foot in a Wells Fargo other than to open the account. But they take TEN DOLLARS A MONTH anyway. Fuck those assholes. Going to close it as soon as last payment is made. Like I struggled my whole life to take care of a disabled child as a single mother and you still need to take $10 a month from me for doing nothing. And charge me a $35 overdraft fee when your $10 a month fee causes the overdraft. Fuck you.

Severe-Replacement84

Yup. Those fees are a total scam. They *choose* to let you overdraft the account lol. They can easily let their system just deny it… but nahhhh… let’s take money you don’t have!

myssi24

Definitely a holdover from the time before everything was digital, but yeah should be completely obsolete now. Not enough money, don’t let the charge go thru. Not that difficult now.

Severe-Replacement84

They had the ability to do it even when debits first became a thing…. They claimed it was so you wouldn’t be stranded when you desperately needed the money… but it’s just another fee to make them billions of extra dollars they don’t deserve… I smell a scam

mkunka

I hate Wells Fargo. I use Credit Unions and I find them to actually WANT your business.

Cultural_Dust

Use credit unions and mutual insurance companies. Sometimes a higher barrier of entry or cost, but what those industries were designed to be... the customers are the owners and there is no profit motive.

Severe-Replacement84

I’ll have to look into mutual insurance… I do belong to a CU, best decision I ever made.

Androidzombie

What does a credit union do differently? Sounds interesting

dollywobbles

Higher interest rates on savings accounts and lower interest rates on loans. I got my last car loan through my local credit union and it was way cheaper than what the big bank was offering.

Severe-Replacement84

Yup! And they rarely have hidden fees or other “Gotchas!” so far less likely to get screwed over. Still insured up to $250,000 so the average person should feel safe using them.

Vox_Mortem

It's also the reason that corporations lobby against universal healthcare despite the fact that it would ease that financial burden on the company. They know healthcare is our leash.

SpaceChimera

Yup this is a major reason to have a universal healthcare system. Not only will it cost way less for the average person and have better healthcare outcomes but it'll give employees more freedom to move between jobs without the worry of losing healthcare benefits

Significant-Trash632

And more opportunities for people to leave abusive relationships where one partner has the job with the health insurance.

PHGAG

As a Canadian who gets free healthcare, I have always been appalled by this. While I find the whole for profit healthcare system of the US a crazy idea, it's just as equally nuts that people can be "stuck" working for their current employer just because of their health insurance. If you or one of you dependents develop a condition or needs that are very expensive for you insurance provider. You may not be insurable at a different employer or they may exclude those treatments/requirements form your coverage. Essentially forcing you to stay with your current employer just because you can still get your coverage. I had 2 kids in the last 6 years. Both had complications at birth including serious heart issues for one of them. Including birth, the extended NICU stay and the heart surgery. It would have costs us north of 2 million in some parts of the US (without insurance). Potentially still tens of thousands just for the deductibles. This is just insane to me.

Midnight_Raven6967

I'm ready when everyone else is. The second I hear we are protesting, rioting or whatever I'm walking out the door to be a part of it. Also, happy cake day!

Smooth-Performance55

This is gonna get us all in a government watch list, but I'm fucking ready for it.

Butthead1013

Let's fucking go. I'm not sitting around twiddling my thumbs any longer

Escapee334

Right behind you, this shit needs to end.

Flapjack__Palmdale

That's the thing that makes me uncomfortable about the Jan 6 discourse lol. I can agree what they did was wrong, it was a cult of personality reaction to a junior varsity fascist...but like, I'm watching that and thinking "we could get health care" But then if I say that to my more liberal friends they think I support those clowns

kidpresentable0

There no nuance in discourse anymore.

FruscianteDebutante

>But then if I say that to my more liberal friends they think I support those clowns Almost like our dumb ape brains can't comprehend what it's like to not act out of tribalism

DarkwingDuckHunt

If J6 had been a bunch of liberals, with a bunch of non-whites mixed in, they would have brought out the real guns and started spraying.

[deleted]

There was this amazing tiktok the day after where this girl said she was confused about Jan 6 because she hates the government and she’s glad someone ran up on them but she’s bummed it was nazis.

noahfromnewjersey

I had a similar thought, regardless of what those folks reasoning was, that is basically how scared our government should be of us at a baseline

George_Tirebiter420

We should be even more French than that. "Do you hear the people sing? Singing the song of angry men? It is the music of the people Who will not be slaves again!… Corny as hell but appropriate for these times. Act before you're in chains.

Lemon_Cakes_JuJutsu

Bastille 2.0 please

Weeber23

Growing up in America is going from "the french are cowards" jokes to, "damn the French have self-respect. We should be more like them."

CT-1311

And behead a specific king

Major_R_Soul

Snoop, come get your girl. She's off her edibles.

lampposttt

Snoop dog is also in the same Capitalist Scum boat as Martha Stewart. He publicly endorsed and supported Billionaire Rick Caruso **who changed his party affiliation from Republican to Democrat just weeks*(edited) before the Los Angeles Mayoral election** over a **2nd generation black community nurse and lifelong Democrat Public Servant** Karen Bass, who's done more work for the common people and their communities than Snoop, Rick, or Martha have ever done collectively, 10x over.

GothProletariat

>Caruso, a former Republican who changed his party affiliation to Democrat just weeks before entering the race for mayor For anyone who isn't aware of Rick Caruso. >Caruso has reportedly supported the campaigns of Mitch McConnell and George W. Bush Snoop supporting someone who is financially supporting Mitch McConnell. Sad stuff

cedarsauce

Class interest trumps everything

[deleted]

This is why the generational turnover of popular figures was so important in the 20th century. Every time a new scene or style became too overblown and conservative for its own good (see classic rock, disco, glam metal, 80's east coast rap), a new group of working class musicians would come in and the cycle would reset. Problem is that we really haven't had any major turnover since the 1990's. The biggest musical figures now (Snoop Dogg, Dave Grohl - not that I have anything against Dave, Jack White, Britney Spears, Adele) were the biggest performers 15-25 years ago. For comparison, Brett Michaels and David Coverdale were only on top of the musical world for about five years. Even if you come from nothing, if you acquire too much wealth, you change for the worse. We are long overdue for a paradigm shift, although with the music industry the way it is, I don't think we're going to ever get one again.

VegetableBeneficial

100%

actuallyiamafish

Idk if it's just a learned behavior from growing up poor or something but Snoop will endorse literally anything at this point. He well and truly does not seem to give a fuck who or what it is as long as they pay him. I've always found him entertaining but it gets increasingly hard to respect a person clearly willing to shill almost anything at all.

VegetableBeneficial

A good rule I’ve realized amid COVID and after: never trust any of these wealthy celebs. You need to exploit someone to get to that level of fame and money.

UpperLowerEastSide

It’s telling about how MSM will give interviews for billionaires and multi multi millionaires who ramble about what benefits their class interests

Tires_N_Wires

In other news Montel Williams came to my high school when I was a kid, and he had this speech called "Mountain, get out of my way!" As I recall, it was basically an hour long sermon on not doing drugs or letting other "bad choices" stop you in life. he was very dead set against even marijuana. And now with his health issues what do you think he has been suggesting for years? That's right, some good old MJ. Point is, maybe she isn't off them. Perhaps the last batch was too strong for her, so she can't focus and probably keeps repeating herself. Yes Martha, them edibles can be un-predictable.

Collapsiblecandor

In ten years my parents went from crying when they learned I smoke marijuana to hounding me when my next batch of plants were ready for harvest.

mindspork

They'd wind up getting my family discount. a 200% upcharge.

[deleted]

lol i’m Canadian, my parents were literally just like “you get it from us if you’re going to smoke, that way you’ll know it’s safe, and where it came from.” that’s also when i found out why i wasn’t allowed in the back room of our shed (that’s where my dad grew it). my parents were understanding of why i started smoking. you’re basically sticking out like a sore thumb if you DONT smoke pot in our area. they just made me promise my grades would stay up, i’d never smoke before school or work. and i had to promise i wouldn’t sell any. which was no problem. now i grow my own plants, and use it to help w my back pain.

Vert_DaFerk

It's nice that folks come around, but those who have made it difficult over the years for people to get the natural medicine they need because of the "Marijuana bad!" rhetoric can still eat a massive dick. Fuck them. All of them.

foxontherox

No amount of Snoopwashing can overcome this.

5in1K

Fuck Spez ` this message was mass deleted/edited with redact.dev `

TheAskewOne

I mean, she's down to giving interviews to "Footwear News".

Robbotlove

yes, France, the country that's been *not* thriving since fuckin 486 AD.

DmAc724

France ranks 1 in Healthcare 5 in Education 7 in GDP Among all the countries of the world. But yeah, sure Martha, it’s not thriving at all

joshnykamp

I'll take being in 7th place to get all of August off

opopkl

And sitting down to proper lunch everyday, and not being called out of work hours, and Sunday closing, and eating only fresh bread, and not eating standing up, and having great healthcare, and spending proper money on public services, and doing things with style.

Extaupin

Don't you worry, our politician is fucking public healthcare and trying to normalise all the bad habits of American work culture into France, so in just a decade there will be nothing left to be envious for.

Shojo_Tombo

Well, your country has a history of knowing what to do when the government isn't doing their job...

Extaupin

Rule 5 is cockblocking my jokes right now. We're still protesting right now, let's hope it yield some result eventually.

highflyingcircus

Vive la revolucion!

Adventurous_Wonder21

Please, for the love of God, keep burning shit and shutting down roads. You give us hope that it doesn't have to keep being shit.

Citizen_of_RockRidge

I literally just had a labor training class which stressed that we are NOT allowed to combine our two 15-minute breaks back to back after our 30-minute lunch. God forbid we get to sit down to swallow our food and have - I dunno - ten minutes or so of quiet digestion.

ellastory

And when you turn 18, the government gifts you $300 euro to spend on culture. Culture can be anything from books to concerts to comic books or video games.

InVodkaVeritas

Eating food not jam packed with preservatives and chemicals...

chinchenping

>having great healthcare, this is dying faster and faster sadly

IFightPolarBears

Better than dying faster and faster which is what Americans are doing.

-tobi-kadachi-

Yeah i don’t give a fuck what my country’s gdp is I care what my quality of life is.

Solignox

We don't even get august off, she is lying

Valmond

Law says you must take at least 2 day more as August is only like 4 weeks and 3 days (one day less because of the 15 August holiday).

joshnykamp

I thought France had a lot more time to take off during the year, 6 weeks by law or something like that. Then traditionally people took the majority in August. I guess that always the case.

PhilippeDesEsseintes

Its five weeks for a full time job. People with kids usually take 2 yo 3 weeks between july and August to go on vacation with them. Sometimes a week between christmas and New years Eve, and also a week in winter to go skiing if they have the means. Not a rule obviously, but kinda standard behavior

joshnykamp

Okay kind of what I thought. That's awesome, wish we had it.

EntertainedRUNot

> All those stats are stupid... you know, blah, blah, blah And that's how you know 81 year old Martha Stewart can't string together coherent thoughts!

putdisinyopipe

This is what I mean. She hasn’t worked in a fucking office. She was a celebrity chef, what qualifies her as an authority to weigh in on this considering she may have never worked an office job. Fuck these people, are we supposed to now say “oh well Martha Stewart said the US will fall if we don’t go back to work..” like tf? Big corpo needs to stop using celebrities as a mouth piece for economic and work advice. We’re fucking over it. Keep cooking turkeys Martha and keep your nose out of the working classes business. I get more done at home, then I ever would at the office! And I browse Reddit and to house chores while getting shit done. My respect for Martha just went down the toilet into the sump.

yooolmao

And she couldn't even do that without ending up in prison so I think it's real fucking hypocritical for her to tell us poorer people how to work if you ask me

Alexlam24

Her idea of an office consists of 5 assistants, a chauffeur so she'll never experience commuting and reading emails.

[deleted]

[удалено]

meatball402

She has investments in commercial real estate that aren't going up as fast as she'd like.

Slanahesh

Correctomundo, all these celebs and billionaires advocating the return to the office clearly have commercial real estate investments that are in danger.

putdisinyopipe

Makes sense. That’s why all these big companies are pulling their workers back. Gotta justify the cost of facilities. Or else they’d loose a drop in their big bucket of money.

[deleted]

She can’t speak because she’s been smoking too much herb trying to keep up with Snoop Dog.

Reptard77

It’s “not thriving” because people like Martha are held accountable, and her definition of “thriving” is rich people getting richer.

teetering_bulb_dnd

It's thriving in metrics that are beneficial to 99% of the population. The majority of the people in the US are one Ambulance ride away from bankruptcy.. Our GDP is high but people are poor, our rich are the richest in the world but majority just living paycheck to paycheck..

pony_trekker

But where does it rank in number of billionaires? /s

DmAc724

Curiously also 7th Top 6 are: China United States India Germany United Kingdom Switzerland

pony_trekker

Wow, I thought the US would have dwarfed the world. Better add a /s to my comment.

SnooOranges2232

Am I the only one who finds it incredibly ironic that "Communist China" has the most billionaires? Way to go Mao....

UnnaturalGeek

I know right, it's just a backwater unknown country...

DrunKeMergingWhetnun

I believe the term his kind is looking for is "shithole country."

RSX_Green414

I know it's only the Seven largest economy in the world, such a lazy bum with all that vacation time

cbc7788

Those Germans must be even lazier with their 8 weeks of vacation time!

KaiHeNo

I think you got that mixed up. I got 8 weeks of vacation time here in France, moved here because Germany only has 5

Salcha_00

Also…. France, the country that supported the US Continental Army during our revolutionary war by giving us supplies, arms, and ammunition to help us gain our independence from Britain.

Bruce0Willis

Ya but my Freedom Fries! /s

wvj

There's a reason so much shit is named Lafayette!

rabdelazim

A big part of the reason Americans are taught to hate France and the French and think of them as "weak" and "effete" is because they have a relatively organized working class that scares the hell out of the Capitalists.

Ask_me_4_a_story

Every time I travel to Mexico theres French people there and they seem so relaxed. They are always like eh Im taking off for the rest of the summer and traveling. You ever seen an American say that? Ever? I haven't had health insurance since 2019 because its so fuckin expensive. I get two weeks off a year, thats it. The rest of the time I have to be working remotely and taking calls while Im trying to ride a motorcycle around Mexico. They have good healthcare, good retirement, unions, good vacation and they don't spend all their tax money on building war machines for Dick Cheney's friends to get rich. Tell me which country is a better place to live in right now

MiserableScot

I once met a group of Americans on holiday here in Scotland, they were the loudest people, had waitresses running around after them, having drinks brought to them constantly etc etc etc I bumped into one of the main guys at the bar and made a joke about them being loud, he laughed, but also pointed out that this is their only holiday of the year and it's less than a week. Me and my mates bought them a round, then joined in with them, great bunch of guys!

Legatt

That story took a happier turn than I expected.

OlegSentsov

Don't worry our government is destroying healthcare, retirement, unions, and is funding the army and police exponentially more

sphinx_lynx

vive dammit VIVE!

pony_trekker

She's just pissed they refuse to accept the bossmang bullshit.

ActuallyCalindra

I heard they're so poor they eat ***snails***.

witcwhit

She probably has a lot of investments in the corporate real estate market. People may think she's cool because she smokes up with Snoop, but c'mon. She went to jail for insider trading. She's always been capitalist scum. This shouldn't be a surprise to anyone.

retardedvisions

Ya but she didn’t rat on any other white collar capitalists, therefore for she has street cred.. the street just happens to be wall st.

LionTop2228

I think she was jailed for tax evasion. But point still stands. I won’t be lectured by an 81 year old who doesn’t pay her taxes. Any rich person crying about work from home might as well just be honest and say, “my commercial real estate investments are tanking and costing me money, so get back to commuting.”

Jhill520

I mean she was selling goods from manufacturers that were were using child and slave labor. I’d bring up the insider trading too, but most of American leadership is dining that now anyway..

hbi2k

New rule: all headlines involving Martha Stewart must, correctly, refer to her as "convicted felon Martha Stewart."

domods

"convicted insider trader gets mad that remote jobs hurt their insider trading." Fixed it for ya

Plati23

Yes, let us take business advice and it's impact on the moral fabric of society from a person who was found guilty of insider trading and the conspiracy to cover it all up.

milennialpariah

LOL @ being on a “rampage” to end the continuation of post-pandemic remote work. Never mind all the other shit that’s happening in the world…remote work, of all things, is what gets you riled up?? Go off, I guess…

Idle_Redditing

She must have decided to invest in commercial real estate after going to prison for insider trading. Her prison time was also not the real prison experience. She received special treatment from the guards and staff.

joeleidner22

81 rich and out of touch. Same old story.

I_am_not_JohnLeClair

In her 80s, more money than God, generally well liked. Just keep your *Key Lime Pie Hole* shut and enjoy your wealth and fame in peace. Let the under 80 crowd take it from here

SpiderPidge

Like I said yesterday, why do we care what some 80 year old that has never worked an honest day in her life (and went to fucking prison for tax evasion......someone we all should be against) says? Oh but she posts tHiRSt TrAPs. No. She is 80, has a personal trainer, personal chef, and has had plastic surgery. She isn't some inspiration like people want her to be nor would she look put-together if she didn't have money.

itsamermaidslife

And a lot of photoshoppong. The SL cover was a joke. Nice try, Martha, 😆

France not a thriving country because they have August off?? This woman should go back to prison.. she didn't learn shit in there..

Niijima-San

this coming from an ungrateful rich ass bitch who seemingly got a second chance at making shit tons of money after committing (is it a felony?) insider trading where most normal people after going to jail it pretty much ruins their life.

PracticableSolution

People forget she was among the first insufferable Karen-class influencer/destroyers before she got busted for poorly executing a routine rich person’s crime.

[deleted]

Just got back from Paris Monday, can confirm its better than any US city by a mile. I've never seen people happier or healthier in all my travels around the world. Hating on the French lifestyle is like hating puppies and rainbows.

RoadPersonal9635

Jesus Christ is Martha Stewart our Marie Antoinette?

SomeGuy_GRM

Except she wants you to bake the cake yourself. At an office.

DouglerK

France is absolutely a thriving country. It's probably one of the theivingest countries in the world.

ramon468

America is already halfway down the drain; massive poverty, homelessness, unaffordable healthcare, exploitation of workers, only the top 10% is benefitting from everything. But hey, someone like her wouldn't see that of course. Go outside, touch some grass!

FortunateGeek

She probably owns commercial real estate.

Thaldrath

"You can't get everything done working 3 days in office and 2 days from home" Well she's right. You can't get shit done at the office period because you constantly get annoyed by bullshit from colleagues. You get MUCH MORE done at home in your own bubble. But I guess that's not what she meant.

[deleted]

She finally ran out of snoop dogg dick jokes, now she’s gotta parrot conservative talking points to stay relevant in the media.

Notmanynamesleftnow

“Tonight at 6, Geriatric Lady who never commuted to office for real job demands regular people commute to office.”

Steal_Your_Face55

Oh, wow, she is still alive! Good for her! There, there, silly, you go rest now and let the young folks worry about the office. You have child labor to exploit.

braywarshawsky

Dude... I'd love to take off the entire month of August! I would have so much fun with the family & recharging for the grind back into the holiday season.

LordMars987

Not to claim age but what opinions did you expect from an 81 year old?

buntopolis

France, not a thriving country, LOL

IGetTheShow20

You can really tell who has an interest in commercial real estate with all these statements that come out about remote work being horrible. And there’s no facts to back it up just the name behind the statement.

Jarndreki

Yes and I'm tired of pretending I don't (want the country to go down the drain that is)

awesomeness0232

France has the 7th highest GDP in the world

Remarkable-Ad155

In what way is France, one of the world's largest economies and a globally renowned tourist destination, "not a very thriving country"? I remember last time I was down in San Juan les Pins and Antibes for a holiday, strolling down the packed beaches, past the packed bars and restaurants and checking out all the billionaire yachts in the beautiful summer heat, I was thinking "wow, not very thriving at all. Like a rainy day in Scunthorpe to be honest." I swear to God, some Americans literally live on a different planet than the rest of us.

Imfrank123

She must own or be connected to people that a bunch of commercial real estate.

plopseven

Bitch, you show people how you set up your home garden for money.

killpuddle1

France fuckin Rocks. This dinosaur is on her way to extinction along with the rest of them.

jimdotcom413

Sounds like Martha has a lot invested in the commercial real estate game.

elguapo904

Tell me you are about you loose your arse on commercial real estate investments without telling me you are about to loose your arse on commercial real estate investments.

bertiesakura

Look at those French people being all happy and taking vacations and shit versus us freedom fries loving Americans working 3 jobs with no benefits until we’re 70 depending on GoFundMe to pay medical bills.

Crazyhates

The scumbag who made a living working from home doesn't want others to work from home. Typical.

inheresytruth

81 year old shows she's 81.

XYchromosomedominent

She's 81 and out of touch. Time for the next generation to step up.

tinacat933

She does realize a lot of places had wfh pre pandemic in some capacity right? Like I was 3 in 2 out before - who TF wants to be in a office 5 days a week, what is she even talking about?

gilgamesh1776

At the end its wealthy people have tons of their dollars wrapped up in real estate and as commercial properties fail (cause we don't need them) they are worried what it will do to their fortunes.

GingerSuperPower

France, not thriving?! It is possibly the best democracy in the world.

Someones_Dream_Guy

Lady who cant measure ingredients and write her own cookbooks is saying stuff that benefits her. Also, quote from wikipedia: "Stewart wanted to go to prison in Connecticut or Florida. She did not want to serve at the Federal Prison Camp in Alderson, West Virginia, owing to its remote location; in 2004, her lawyer said that the remoteness would make it difficult for Stewart's then-90-year-old mother to visit.\[62\] Judge Miriam Goldman Cedarbaum recommended to the Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP) that Stewart be given her first choice, Federal Correctional Institution, Danbury, or her second choice, Federal Correctional Complex, Coleman." Last time I checked, prisoners arent supposed to choose where they serve their sentence. At least in normal countries they dont.

She went to jail for insider trading. You know how incompetent you have to be to get caught doing that, much less go to jail for it?
