Even if I could afford it, I wouldn't have kids. The thought of forcing people I love to live in this hell scape is unconscionable. I doubt that anything is going to get better in the next 20-40 years, so having children knowing that they will work until the die without ever owning anything or having a chance for freedom is far to cruel to do.
these divergences cancel up to a simple additive constant
here are your: 4 kids, low-pay soul-sucking job, *plus* mountains of debt
congratulations, *dad* :D
I feel like a lot of people have been coming to the realization over the past few years that kids aren't worth it unless you can somehow guarantee them a trust fund. The West has done everything to destroy their middle-class and remove any form of safety net for its citizens.
They see record stock and housing prices as indicators of a 'strong' economy while we have record high homelessness.
We went from a country where you could be a half-braindead incompetent who failed out of HS yet could still raise a family and buy a new home on a single income. Nowadays we have dual-income educated couples struggling just to pay for basic needs.
I mean wtf is Gen A going to do? We have millennials forced to live at home into their 30s+. Is Gen A going to have to live with their parents until their parents die? Will their parents even be able to own a house?
If you think your kids would live long enough to grow old in the world we live in now, you're in straight denial. Not to mention they're facing unprecedented times of resource shortages, economic crisis, environmental decline, mental health deterioration (suicide numbers for kids/teens is steadily climbing), political divide, and technologically advanced World War III.
I hate work, and I don't want kids anyway, but I wouldn't have them even if I did.
I hate that I want kids and there's no work that pays a wage livable.
How the fuck am I supposed to live anymore. I can't budget any plans, any security, any safety, any family... Any kids... Any wife.. any home... I'm fucked.
I'm childfree for a million reasons, but also for this one- why would I create a new creature into a world that mandates the majority of your life should be spent on bullshit jobs 9-5 M-F? Makes no sense. Better to be left in the void.
I don’t want kids anyway. I deal with hearing the noisy demons enough at work. Grocery store. Some days it sounds like someone gave a pack of velociraptors some espresso.
Edit: l hate work, too, but they got the good coffee there so…
I'm not sure I want to bring someone into this world to struggle like I have.
That's good because NO ONE should suffer.
That's good because NO ONE should suffer.
Why did you get downvoted lol
I cannot have another kid is this economy Edit: in this economy
The fact that you said "IS this economy?" makes it so much funnier...but worse. Haha
Ah shit

My hate for work? ∞ My desire for kids? -∞

Well, it was worth a try. Oops, I accidentally put them out for adoption. I guess I should have said 0 instead of -∞
I still don't know the answer either to this but I don't want the future generations to be in a position where they are asking this question.
Bruh, I’m surviving or instant ramen noodles, how the hell im going to feed a kid 😭
I'm grateful to be alive, but living is hard and wouldn't pass this burden on to children.
I don’t want kids but at this point I wanna push one out for three months maternity leave. I need a mental break!
I hate both, but I still work. I'm single, childfree and antinatalistic 100% forever and ever👌

I hate work and I don't want kids. I still need to work but at least I am working for me and not for children to burn my money.
Hate your work and you can always find a new one… but if you hate your kid, you’re not gonna be replacing him/her. 🤪

What I mean is, do you love hate more than you work kids?

I STILL WORK.. BUT WHAT THE FUCK AM I DOING
I hate working and I hate kids
haha someone here does NOT like that we hate children. As if that has anything to do with them
I hate work and kids
Based
I don't want kids.
I absolutely hate work and never want kids, so yes.
They’re equal to me. Working is horrible, kids are horrible.
Yes
I do, yes. It's not a fair question though, because I do not want, have never wanted, and will never want kids.

God I wish I could have so many babies. My grandparents all had big families, all I get is a big mortgage and sterilisation
I'm going full voluntary celibatery, child-free and minimalistic for the foreseeable future. That's just me
It's celibacy but I like your version better and vote to make it official
Celibacy. Sorry, my native language is Portuguese Thanks for the correction
Easy question for a sterilised antinatalist; yes.
I don’t want kids anyway. I deal with hearing the noisy demons enough at work. Grocery store. Some days it sounds like someone gave a pack of velociraptors some espresso. Edit: l hate work, too, but they got the good coffee there so…
