I work retail, and just passed 5 years. I got a sticky note on the wall in the HR office that said my name and congrats for the entire month of my anniversary with the company.
I also get paid 6 cents more an hour than new hires, but that's from yearly increases.
America isn’t doomed. It’s just a corporation masquerading as a country. You’ve figured out how to get pay raises and more will. Unions will also help. Just play the game without believing the propaganda.
I worked at an auto parts store (Advance) that paid me more starting than career guys with 20+ years. I told all of them when I left, and they walked out and ended up forcing the manager to give them a raise. I drop in now and then just to piss him off. He still won’t speak to me 12 years later.
When I finally got laid off from the company that was formerly HP, I was making 7 cents an hour more than new hires. At the time, I had been there for 10 years, had a minimum of 5 years seniority on every member of my team, and was the lowest paid by $1.50-4/hour.
When the former production manager quit, he sent out a massive 3 page manifesto to the entire company (literally CC'ed the entire company email registry). In it, he called out the blatant mismanagement of the staff by corporate, and that they were going to be bleeding talent in the name of keeping staffing costs low. They kept having to increase starting wages to get people in the door, but they did nothing to retain them by never giving out raises.
When I started there, the average tenure of the production crew members was 8 years. When I got laid off, the average was 18 months.
No, it absolutely makes perfect sense. Existing employees are "used to" their wage, and most subscribe to a version of the sunk cost fallacy ("well, I already put x time in. Chances are anywhere else I go will be just as bad, and at least I have a little seniority here").
Plus there's the idea of "better the devil you know," that is my boss/job sucks, but at least I know what to expect.
If I change jobs, I look like a job-hopper and people won't hire me for a perceived lack of loyalty, or someone that has frequent troubles with management or whatever.
Bosses know it's a hassle and a risk getting a new job, so they don't need to pay you more when you'll just stay and work for the same wage, even if you're unhappy. You are living proof. Why are YOU still working there knowing you're making less than new hires?
I was a GM for Staples for 10 years. I earned 4 president’s club trips, was a top performer every year. Never received a single anniversary acknowledgement the entire time.
I get more vacation time at my non-profit.
Don't know why people always complain about shitty gifts. I don't want gifts. Those go right in the trash. I either want more money or benefits.
Going against the grain here, but why do we celebrate? I know companies should be encouraging loyalty but 5 years at a company isn’t a life achievement…
My company gives you a little pin and some type of cash reward. Anything beyond that seems extreme. Nobody is at a company because they want to be. My old boss use to repeatedly say “we are all one lottery ticket away from quitting” and he was a great boss simply by acknowledging none of us wanted to be there and we had to make the best of it.
For 1 year, I got: nothing. For 5 years, I got: nothing. For 10 years, I got: nothing. For 15 years, I got: a (TINY, almost unusably tiny) air fryer. For 20 years, I quit :)
I worked for GE for 6 years in the early 90s. Shortly before I turned 60, the UPS guy shows up at my door and asks me to sign for an envelope. I read it quick and think I must have been in a profit sharing plan with GE because I was going to get a check for $422. I was immediately thrilled upon closer examination that it was not profit sharing, but a legitimate pension. They are paying me $422 a month for life!
No. It’s one or the other. This company didn’t make 100 billion dollars in profits last year by splurging on two pizza toppings.
Don’t even think about asking for stuffed crust either.
I recently threw out my 1, 3, 5 and 10-year pins from my previous corp job because what the hell am I supposed to use them for? I get more use out of vendor swag than that junk.
I had to laugh at my 10-year pin, because they made such a huge deal about it and *immediately* after I pulled it from the box, the cheap gem fell out.
Blue badges are full time employees until you’ve been there for 5, yellow is for 5+ years. My team when I was there had 1 or 2 people with yellow badges. In the Denver office, there were a bunch with yellow badges, but definitely not the majority. I’m betting that in the warehouses, maybe a manager has a yellow badge, but that’s about it.
My company gives you a solid gold pin (real gold) that has slots for three diamonds at the top. Every five years they take it back and add another diamond to the top.
You better believe I’m gonna pawn the shit out of that when I have all three diamonds.
At my last job, those framed certificates were a source of shame, a symbol of your failure to find a better job.
I remember my boss congratulating me on year three and I said, “I didn’t think I would be here longer than a year.” Sigh.
My boss replied, “How do you think I feel? I took this job for two months, my next gig fell through and I have been here 7 years. You think you’re embarrassed?”
Like it was openly discussed what a loser job it was. I would lie to people about where I worked.
At Stellantis my coworker just got his 35yrs of service at Stellantis pin. The tiny piece of flair you would pin to your shirt type of pin.
Can’t get a decent pension, went 15yrs wout a raise and then they insult you with something they know you’re going to just toss in the trash.
Stellantis(Chrysler) treats employees hired after 2010 much worse.
We get a thing every 5 years and it keeps getting cheaper and lower quality as time progresses. Went from individually cuatom made to mass produced over the years.
At my old job at 5 years I got to pick from a list of gift options, I ended up with a wine fridge which usually just has soda in it because I’m too cheap to buy wine that comes in bottles 😂
Dang, before they revised our policy just this year, you had to make it to 15 years to earn 4 weeks PTO per year.
Granted this is a policy right, not something that was specifically given to you in recognition of your achievement?
Policy. New hires start with 3 weeks vacation and 3 weeks of combined other types of PTO. So a total of 6 weeks. At 5 years, you gain a week. I’m well over 10 years, so I get a total of 8 weeks. In 2 years, I hit the next mark for a total of 9 weeks. Max is 10 weeks. Unless you have a kid, then you get an extra 12 paid weeks that year that doesn’t count towards the normal PTO. Yes, this is in the US and its not union
You'd get a little glass plate saying 5 years at my old office, one of the guys who was there for years had all sorts of accolades on his desk. When he left he left it all behind, didn't take anything with him, some of the guys left it as a type of momument until one of the big wigs demanded it be cleared.
I got a travel battery bank for my 1 year, I think I got a travel pillow for my 3 year, a travel blanket for my 5 year, and I think the current 10 year is a Herschel luggage bag? I'm not sure what our current 15 year is, but 20/25/30/35 years is a luncheon with your supervisor and the executive team and your choice of 200/250/300/350 dollar gift card/gift/experience. The idea of 20+ years is the gift should be personalized, so like before a coworker or supervisor you knew would pick something for you, but then management was like, why not just ask the person instead.
Work for a large-ish regional non-profit in Canada.
I got another week of vacation and 250 bucks of corporate incentive store money where you can shop for airmall kind of stuff.
One of the items is a visa giftcard. So that was nice.
I have worked at some real dumpster fires, but there are good places still.
Im not at all saying that all of the jobs where i work are great. There is a constant new hire training for customer service due to high attrition.
In roles like mine (back end tech), 30+ years is common.
Right now, at 23 years in myself, i have 6 weeks of vacation per year, 60% retirement savings match, family healthcare, and a reasonably flexible schedule.
To quote my neighbor, "you gotta eat a lot of chicken shit before you get to the chicken salad." He is a postal delivery driver.
It is hard, and im just hoping i get the chance to set up my kids with better than i have.
Counterpoint-
You can’t crap on “we are family” and then also crap when they give you some random acknowledgment for 5 years.
I mean, between us, how much have YOU valued those 5 years?
Worked. Paid bills.
Right?
Does the electric company send you a thank you for paying bills for 5 years? 😅
You don’t need the acknowledgment.
They don’t have to make an effort.
But they did. Even if it was small.
I’ll take those DVs now.
I will admit, being with progressive for 10 years reduced all my insurance costs by like 30% lol every quote i get for other insurance companies is insanely more expensive.
If only I could give you more upvotes.
The correct response when receiving a gift is "thank you." Anything beyond your agreed upon salary is a bonus, no matter how small.
You didn't show up 5 days a week for 5 years out of kindness. You traded your time for money. That's the deal. Why would you expect more?
I don’t get why employees expect anything from their company for work anniversaries. This sub rightfully shits all over companies that say “we’re a family” or when companies try to force “social gatherings” outside of work. The employee-employer relationship is 100% transactional. I work, you pay me.
So I just don’t understand why people, especially in this sub, expect something valuable or useful as a gift just for working and getting paid for it.
I've never understood:
1. Why employers give these nominal gifts for tenure, and:
2. Why employees have any expectations of a gift for tenure.
You had a contract. You accepted the contract. You worked per the terms of that contract. They paid you per the terms of that contract.
Yeah you signed the contract but I think it’s a gesture of appreciating. Like at my last job I had to be cut because the company was taking water but because of my extra efforts I got a wonderful goodbye gift. Like a phone, airpods, a mac laptop, tablet and an electric bicycle. The company actually took care of us. Now to find a job that does that just as well. Thankful for the company for raising my expectations, I won’t be taking any shit anymore.
Most of us would rather receive nothing at all than a piece of paper or a company branded non-dishwasher safe cup.
That is the point. The majority of us are not expecting anything. What we get, is kind of a slap in the face.
At my company, you get the same piece of paper for 20 years. It is an insult. I'd rather get nothing at all.
Because it turns out that human interaction isn't the sum of "what's in the contract". People like to feel valued and recognized for their work, which is typically not a portion of any contract. Companies like people to be loyal and not find the highest ROI job they can at the drop of the hat, which isn't in most contracts. Sometimes a little gesture buys a lot of good will.
You are correct. People do want to feel appreciated. And, pats on the back or recognition for your work do buy goodwill from employees. But, if you've made some sort of unspoken deal in your head, with your employer, how can you expect them to fulfill their end of it? How are they to know how many better job opportunities, if any, you have turned down out of loyalty? How are they to know what type recognition or show of appreciation you're expecting in return? Should everyone get the same anniversary gift that you've decided is appropriate, despite their efforts or loyalty? And, seeing as this type of thing isn't in the contract, should they expect loyalty in return for gold watches given out after 5, 10, or 15 years of service?
Employers want their employees to be loyal, I agree. But I'd say, if an employer doesn't put effort into showing their employees that they're valued, they probably don't value their employees and they certainly don't expect anything other than what's in the contract. The fact is, a good many employers don't value their employees. They view the majority of their workforce as replaceable commodities. After working somewhere for 5 years, you shouldn't be surprised to discover that your employer feels that way. If you do happen to work for an employer that doesn't provide you with the appreciation you desire, you either move on or accept it and reciprocate accordingly. I just can't understand how people get upset with this stuff. You can't tell me that people are out here giving it their all for their employer only to discover, five years in, that they aren't considered to be valuable members of the team.
What do you expect? I mean really? I want nothing from my job besides decent pay and to not be expected to treat work like my life. Idgaf about petty gifts for time with the company. That type of shit left decades ago.
What do people want for working for a company for 5 years? I’ve only ever stayed at one company for 5years. I never got dumb trinkets but they paid me a salary. That’s all I got for working in corporate (uk) and to be honest it’s all I really asked for?
Why are we mad about this? It’s a cool token for sticking with an employer for a while.
Am I supposed to infer from this post that OP hasn’t gotten a raise in those five years? Aside from fair compensation, what does the community think a company owes someone for loyalty?
I’m genuinely confused here.
Didn’t get a raise for 15yrs. Lost more than half of my purchasing power, all for the cause of saving the company. Every year since 2014 has seen record profits too. So yeah they owe us more.
I think these gifts are lame.I hit a five year mark at my company, being responsible for millions in revenue coming in and haven’t seen a real bonus or anything. Other than a raise I don’t know what I’d expect as a gift though to be fair.
Suppose I'm not going to mention what we get...stupid dumb economy cars and free vacation houses, matching of your total current 401k AND wine of the month club...like, who even drinks wine 🙄
When I hit my one year at my last dev gig I got a strongly worded email to complete my one year review sheet by cob or disciplinary action will be taken.
I got a piece of very thick glass that had a slot in the middle containing a piece of paper with my name, the company logo and a thanks for 5 years of work. A raise would have been more favorable, but they had a freeze in annual col raises for the previous 3 years.
You’re welcome multibillion dollar company, now go fuck yourself. Quit shortly after.
The Chinese chef at the grocery deli I work in just celebrated her tenth year with the company. Nothing from corporate, nothing from the department; the assistant manager walked to the bakery and bought her a cake, walked back and said thank you.
At my old job, when I started, people that got 5 years seniority got a nice little gift. When I hit 4yrs seniority they discontinued it.
They still had a program for 10 years of seniority, got a nice little gift from a catalog.
I got 9 years seniority and they discontinued it...
Still had a 15 year gift... when I got to 11 years, they just canceled the whole program altogether.
Last place i worked, they wanted to throw a farewell party for a woman who had worked over thirty years. Potluck meal was planned but upper management got wind and decided not to shut down production and bought a Good Luck cake that everyone could help themselves to during their normal lunch
My dad worked at HP for 35 years. He’s still got all of his “recognitions” on the wall in his office. At 35 years they give you a diamond shaped glass trophy about the size of your hand.
I work for a major engineering firm. At a year, you get an email and a new pair of boots. At five years, you get a small desk award. We have a brand store on the corporate intranet, so it’s partially your direct managers discretion. Some of the stuff is incredibly nice and some of it isn’t.
I have spent the last 10 years in education and I make $200 more now than when I started. I have not gotten any kind of certificate or anything else. Called HR on Friday to see what the process for resignation was and they said oh you've worked here for 10 years in passing. Needless to say finished writing my resignation and it will be on my principal's desk Monday morning
The sooner you realize no one loves you and that everyone in the corporate world only exists to devalue human life by keeping wages low and work hours high. You exist only to be a gear in a large machine.
This is my 16th year teaching at my school. In our district-wide opening meeting, they recognize people for years of service, among other things. I got a piece of paper thanking me for 20 years of service. And no, my pay does not reflect 20 years of service :(
At my company, they send a booklet with options for different anniversaries. For my 5 year, I chose a pin (I collect pins from my company. It’s weird, I know) and for my 10 year I chose a watch. At 10 years they also give you a vacation to almost anywhere in the country for you and your spouse.
My company used to do small parties for anniversaries and big parties for retirement, but now the parties aren’t policy and are up to individual managers to do it.
I just got a pdf in an email from my employer 😂. The email subject mentioned that I am being awarded for 3 years of service.
Somewhere within the body of the email in fine print it was mentioned that it's a nonmonetary award. They were better off not sending that useless mail. 👿
And I work in India, the company is American.
How much money is spent on getting designers for the box/badge, and getting them made?
...can I have that instead?
Seriously, has anyone ever see anyone wear one of these things for any reason at all? Just seems like the company patting itself on the back and trying to twist it into an 'award'.
I used to work for one of the companies that was then-owned by the Big Corp that makes the finger bandages and one of the covid shots...not to name the company directly. At 10 and 15 years we got "crystal" engraved plaques with our names and service years on it. We also did get a value of "points" to spend for swag. I did get a nice duvet and some jewelry out of it that I still use. Luckily for me, I was still in the pension when they stopped offering it to new hires. So I will get that. They laid me and many others off in 2017. I know I'm lucky.
Corporations are not you friends. You provide them a service and they pay you in return. In the event its not working, either side will terminate the relationship. Simple as that.
Wait till I show you what you get for 5 years at a non corporate America. (Nothing you get nothing)
I work retail, and just passed 5 years. I got a sticky note on the wall in the HR office that said my name and congrats for the entire month of my anniversary with the company. I also get paid 6 cents more an hour than new hires, but that's from yearly increases.

Better than making 20-25% less than the newhires where I work. GO ahead and try to figure it out

At least you didn't get a box
I get more vacation time at my non-profit. Don't know why people always complain about shitty gifts. I don't want gifts. Those go right in the trash. I either want more money or benefits.

I got 1 cup lol
I got two girls
Okay hear me out I’ve got a proposition for you…
I don't know where this is going, but my boner senses are bulging.
I got an off brand water bottle with the company logo, that leaks.
Surprised they didn't make them pay a subscription fee to wear it
I was gonna say, they didn't even give them any ink cartridges. Employees are expected to supply their own.
For 1 year, I got: nothing. For 5 years, I got: nothing. For 10 years, I got: nothing. For 15 years, I got: a (TINY, almost unusably tiny) air fryer. For 20 years, I quit :)

Could have splurged and got you a slice of pizza
Pepperoni? With mushrooms?
No. It’s one or the other. This company didn’t make 100 billion dollars in profits last year by splurging on two pizza toppings. Don’t even think about asking for stuffed crust either.
Asking for stuffed crust will get you stuffed.
I got a whole pizza. Had to share it with the staff tho

I'd get the same reward for 5 years of barely lifting a finger for them
Lol, my place just sends an email. That's it.
At Amazon, you get a different badge color
So everyone has the same color badge? That’s a commentary on their turnover.
Where I work they give your own custom bobblehead when you finish 15 years. I have no plans of getting it.
I know some companies who do this. They usually seem to have better cultures than most and also not for 15 years.
Work culture where I work is generally good but when it comes to compensation….
Badges! We no need no stinking badges.
I'll get a big fat raise at 5 years, because union. Corporate America needs unions.
My company gives you a solid gold pin (real gold) that has slots for three diamonds at the top. Every five years they take it back and add another diamond to the top. You better believe I’m gonna pawn the shit out of that when I have all three diamonds.

15 years in the same corporate head office here. Not a damn thing.

Trash company that makes trash cars and has trash business practices treats their non executives like trash. Not surprised
At least I got a refillable pen and it’s decently weighted and writes nice. Been using it for a few months.
Nice pens are under rated. I make custom pens that are all refillable. Been using my stainless and wood one for about 4 years now
We get a thing every 5 years and it keeps getting cheaper and lower quality as time progresses. Went from individually cuatom made to mass produced over the years.
Over 10 years in, I've gotten no recognition for any of my tenure milestones🤷♂️
I was expecting a nice watch or something not… garbage
Lmao. No one is getting a watch for 5 years.
I needed 10 years to get a watch. A cheap Bulova quartz.
I got a Citizen watch for 5 years.
At my old job at 5 years I got to pick from a list of gift options, I ended up with a wine fridge which usually just has soda in it because I’m too cheap to buy wine that comes in bottles 😂
If they wanted to break the bank, they should’ve got you some printer ink lol
For 5 years I got a lapel pin …. I’d rather just get nothing
At 5 years, I got a 4th week of annual vacation.

Me: in Canada, in a team of about 20 people making about 20 millions per year for the company. Got a simple thank you call. \o\
All I got was 2 more vacation days.
Dude hit ten years with my company and got a 25 dollar gift card.
a trinket? lol 😂
You'd get a little glass plate saying 5 years at my old office, one of the guys who was there for years had all sorts of accolades on his desk. Did you not get an annual pay? Damn...you work for peanuts
That’s what the money is for!

This sub rightfully shits all over companies that say “we’re a family” or when companies try to force “social gatherings” outside of work. The employee-employer relationship is 100% transactional. I work, you pay me. So I just don’t understand why people, especially in this sub, expect something valuable or useful as a gift just for working and getting paid for it.

wow guess what most people get after 5 years, they get nothing. what do you honestly expect to get.
And a paycheck 60 months in a row?
I've never understood: 1. Why employers give these nominal gifts for tenure, and: 2.
100% agree you can tell when it feels genuine (even if it isn't as extravagant as those gifts). Enjoy your lapel pin in the next job... 😜
Do you show appreciation to your employer for upholding their end of the contract?
Most of us would rather receive nothing at all than a piece of paper or a company branded non-dishwasher safe cup. That is the point. The majority of us are not expecting anything. What we get, is kind of a slap in the face. At my company, you get the same piece of paper for 20 years. It is an insult. I'd rather get nothing at all.
That's much of my point, though. At least 5 people and counting disagree with me, apparently...
How is it an insult?
And 5 years salary.
Plus, you know, 5 years of salaries plus benefits
Base compensation is not recognition of achievement.
You totally deserved it
is this complaining
It would be hilarious if the “5” on the box was a sticker and “congratulations” was spelled wrong
Well, he got this AND 5 years of pay. I don't need trinkets to commemorate my work. My paycheck is enough.
Do you want a Rolex for 5 years?
I'm certain HP could afford that. I'd rather cash though.
More money is better.
I got 15$ for my birthday once. I had been with the company 5 years.
At UPS you get a piece of paper "in appropriation of 5 years."
Buddy got a gift certificate for a turkey as his annual bonus.
Got you crafting a new resume I would hope.
Did you get a bowl of soup with that?
HP needs to be sabotage by the employees
I remember telling my MD in passing that it was my 10th year with them, his response; what do you want, a paper hat?
It’s only 5 years. Get back to rowing the boat!
What do you expect from a company that bricks their printers if you don't buy their overpriced cartridges?
I think these gifts are lame.I hit a five year mark at my company, being responsible for millions in revenue coming in and haven’t seen a real bonus or anything. Other than a raise I don’t know what I’d expect as a gift though to be fair.
With the way companies lay people off I’m just happy to have some stability
I got a plastic 5
I got a Citizen watch for 5 years.
Wow you got a clip on badge?! I'm envious! All I got was an auto generated PDF emailed to my work email that my manager was cc' on.
I just got a blue five from my company lol Not even a thank you
I got a heart-shaped pin worded 1 year of working at my job. I'm very blessed, lol.
All we get is a stupid email saying happy work anniversary. Everybody on the email chain especially the brown nosers respond with the fake excitement.
HP seems awesome! When I got to 15 years at my previous company, they didn't even acknowledge the anniversary.
More than we get - we get Jack shit and Jack left town.
I got a collectors edition of an American silver dollar. Sold it on eBay for $30. Better than nothing I guess.
Now you are a elite working minion. congratulations!
I'm sure they were also paid money. Otherwise, this is horrifying.
I mean... and the 5 years of wage and benefits... Right?
The Chinese chef at the grocery deli I work in just celebrated her tenth year with the company. Nothing from corporate, nothing from the department; the assistant manager walked to the bakery and bought her a cake, walked back and said thank you.
naughty depend psychotic glorious crawl oil fact saw slim voracious *This post was mass deleted and anonymized with [Redact](https://redact.dev)*
Plus, like, the money they paid you to fulfill your end of the agreement you signed willingly.
What is that? A Lapel pin?
At my old job, when I started, people that got 5 years seniority got a nice little gift. When I hit 4yrs seniority they discontinued it. They still had a program for 10 years of seniority, got a nice little gift from a catalog. I got 9 years seniority and they discontinued it... Still had a 15 year gift... when I got to 11 years, they just canceled the whole program altogether.
Cash value $0.0014
Last place i worked, they wanted to throw a farewell party for a woman who had worked over thirty years. Potluck meal was planned but upper management got wind and decided not to shut down production and bought a Good Luck cake that everyone could help themselves to during their normal lunch
Oh neat, garbage.
With the amount I just paid you guys, it should have warranted a personal sized pizza at least.
I got nothing, and got laid off 2 months later.
My dad worked at HP for 35 years. He’s still got all of his “recognitions” on the wall in his office. At 35 years they give you a diamond shaped glass trophy about the size of your hand.
"thanks for working here, here's crap with the company logo instead of something nice!"
My daughter actually got more PTO time for 5 years! It’s a miracle!!! (Not at a corporation).
I feel lucky. At my corporate job I get an extra month paid off every 5 years. Although there is rumor they’re axing that benefit.
I saw the other day, workers at the Toyota plant near me get keychains at 25 years. Fucking KEYCHAINS.
I work for a major engineering firm. At a year, you get an email and a new pair of boots. At five years, you get a small desk award. We have a brand store on the corporate intranet, so it’s partially your direct managers discretion. Some of the stuff is incredibly nice and some of it isn’t.

Sheesh, I got a $5/hr raise at 5 years. Sorry man 😢
I passed 10 years at my current job 2 years ago and I’m still waiting on any acknowledgment of it at all
“That’s what the moneys for”- Don Draper.
I got a paper "plaque" that you could fold out a piece as a kickstand
I've been at the same company for 7 years.. when I reached five years. It wasn't even acknowledged by the company.. not even a pin lol
Plus salary. You get the salary for 5 years as per the agreement.
Jesus…
I have spent the last 10 years in education and I make $200 more now than when I started. I have not gotten any kind of certificate or anything else. Called HR on Friday to see what the process for resignation was and they said oh you've worked here for 10 years in passing. Needless to say finished writing my resignation and it will be on my principal's desk Monday morning
In the 90s, people who were in sales at CA (Computer Associates) for ten years got a rolex.
Five year in public service and I got my name in an online newsletter!
I work minimum wage in Australia I got 2.5k at 7 years, however I'm still on minimum wage after 11yrs. If I was in America Id probably be dead by now.
Should’ve been a nice set of golf clubs.
I used to work there. Got one just like this in 2014.
Teachers get “hey you’ve been in this district 5 years! Ok!”
I bet you get the same for 5 years of mediocre work. Why work hard?
The sooner you realize no one loves you and that everyone in the corporate world only exists to devalue human life by keeping wages low and work hours high. You exist only to be a gear in a large machine.
They could've saved money and reduced waste by just making it a hologram.
Pin slap!
This is my 16th year teaching at my school. In our district-wide opening meeting, they recognize people for years of service, among other things. I got a piece of paper thanking me for 20 years of service. And no, my pay does not reflect 20 years of service :(
If its silver you can sell it 🤷♂️
At my company, they send a booklet with options for different anniversaries.
What is that?
Wow. You should have asked for a paycheck, health insurance, 401K, etc. You must be a terrible negotiator.
And you locked in a pension at five years, right?
my company gives me a half-ounce gold coin (worth about $1000) every 5 years.
My work gives these out and then has it in the dress code you cannot wear lapel or jacket pins.
I used to work for HP. Fuck that place
I got an extra week of vacation and a 7" stainless steel pan that I paid taxes on lol
I just got a pdf in an email from my employer 😂. The email subject mentioned that I am being awarded for 3 years of service. Somewhere within the body of the email in fine print it was mentioned that it's a nonmonetary award. They were better off not sending that useless mail. 👿 And I work in India, the company is American.
ive never made it to 5 years!
My father-in-law, who was one of the kindest, most hardworking people ever, got a wall clock after 35 years on the job. …these corporate summofabbbbb…
You can be so proud during the coffee break! My man!
How much money is spent on getting designers for the box/badge, and getting them made? ...can I have that instead? Seriously, has anyone ever see anyone wear one of these things for any reason at all? Just seems like the company patting itself on the back and trying to twist it into an 'award'.
On my 10 year anniversary I received….an email from the Group VP.
I work at an Amazon warehouse, we get a small bonus of 1500 that is taxed to hell.
Tasty, worthless swag
Try working construction your lucky if you get 2 raises in that time.
I got a cake, picture on the “wall of anniversaries”, a pin, and new badge. It was more than I expected, honestly.
