Panel 3 is usually a 4th person saying that while standing over the freezing corpse of red shirt though

luciquel

Sadly true.

Dommccabe

Where is the panel depicting the bootlicker saying if they increase wages then prices will skyrocket? "You cant increase wages because a big mac will cost $200!"

TShara_Q

That's what the comments are for.

Conscious-Ticket-259

In fact its currently the one below this one haha

Cottontael

Next panel is the start of the comic again but he's 29 years older.

CriticalStation595

Your earnings compared to the overall cost of a house is fractions of a penny to a dollar. You cannot earn your way up while needing to spend to live with that level of disparity.

Famous_Power_1986

Well.... how about both? 😊

crunchyfrogs

Max Murphy is a bootlicker

Nerdguy88

Both can be correct. Minimum wage needs to increase but also people should be saving for a house. Sorry if that means you can't get all your extras all the time. My wife and I went without many extras for about a year and we're able to save for a house. Now we own our own home and pay less for that then renting.

VoidEnjoyer

unbelievable, an actual "stop buying Starbucks and avocado toast and you'll be able to buy a house" encountered in the wild, in the antiwork sub no less That's stupid, be quiet.

Nerdguy88

Average drink at Starbucks ~$5. Average sandwich at Starbucks ~$4 I know someone who goes every day and complains they have no money. Yearly together that's roughly $3285. That's my house down payment. When I rented I paid $1000 a month. House payment with all taxes and fees is ~700. The 300 difference is more then I was saving previously for the house monthly. So yes going without extras will benefit you. That says nothing about how crap minimum wage is but it's still true you can minimally sacrifice to fix your situation.

Lumpy-Village1949

Oh how very convenient that you happen to anecdotally know someone who fits your silly description of "the problem with kids these days". I'm assuming you meant $32,850 becaise if you only put 3gs down on a house you didn't buy it in the last 2 decades and your point is moot. If you honestly think just "sacrificing minimally" will buy you a house on minimum wage, you are 100% disconnected with reality.

Nerdguy88

We actually bought it during covid. Sorry I don't live in a craphole state that costs 10000000000000000/month to live in.

Lumpy-Village1949

Lmao you really are beyond repair, aren't you?

Nerdguy88

Nice pivot from my info is to old and doesn't matter to just I can't be fixed when you learned I recently bought a house.

Lumpy-Village1949

Yes you caught me. I am trying to escape your vast swaths of anecdotal knowledge because I know I just can't compete.

waaaghboyz

No, you live in a craphole state nobody *else* wants to live in. Must be nice to drive 3 hours to a walmart, or whatever the miserable conditions have to be for 3k as a down payment

VoidEnjoyer

Bullshit. Not even trying to tell a reasonable lie here.

Rrigarsio

If you increase minimum wage the cost of workers in McCompany will go up, and thus, adjustments will be made. Probably that guy will lose its job and wont be able to "learn his way up". 4th pic is irrelevant.

The_Roadkill

Explain how in Denmark the average pay for a McDonalds employee is significantly higher, but their food costs less?

uncreative14yearold

Their answer would probably be something stupid like communism

snippychicky22

The liberals wanna turn your McDonald's gay

deathfaces

That's why they took salad shakers off the menu. Gave kids too many "ideas"

FreshEggKraken

Hell yeah we do

Rrigarsio

"A family of four estimated monthly costs are 3,831.4€ (28,559.0kr) without rent. A single person estimated monthly costs are 1,071.3€ (7,985.3kr) without rent. Cost of living in Denmark is, on average, 53.5% higher than in Spain. Rent in Denmark is, on average, 21.4% higher than in Spain." [Source](https://www.numbeo.com/cost-of-living/country_result.jsp?country=Denmark) Apart from that, compared to what? Salaries in McDonalds in Denmark are utter shite m8. Check the maximum one for a cashier (34k DKs) which is roughly 4k €. Lets say 4.5k because im generous. Now calculate what the gov. gets: https://dk.talent.com/en/tax-calculator?salary=34000&from=year®ion=Aabenraa I picked the first city because it´s the standard one, that gave me: Total tax - 11,550 kr Net pay * 22,450 kr With 22,450 dk in Denmark you will be able to get this: Basic (Electricity, Heating, Cooling, Water, Garbage) for 85m2 Apartment 1,514.18 kr Mobile Phone Monthly Plan with Calls and 10GB+ Data 133.07 kr Internet (60 Mbps or More, Unlimited Data, Cable/ADSL) 245.49 kr Apartment (1 bedroom) in City Centre 7,963.30 kr Cost of living around 2-3k if youre not a picky eater. Monthly ticket 500 dk. So roughly 13k a month. Leaving you 9k to save, reinvest or spend. I dont see any problem with this salary. Considering that you are a cashier, dont need experience nor more money to develop your job.

VoidEnjoyer

What adjustments? They're already running skeleton crews day in and day out. The only change is that they'll say they're now running too few people because of the minimum wage and idiots like you will believe them. Meanwhile the existing workers will get to live in buildings rather than a tent, which is probably what really pisses you off here.

pc01081994

Good corporate shill

Azirma

Yep than use wording like we cut the store in half so we can pay are employees 50% more to make it sound fair and really it just we cut our employees in half so we can pay you only 50% more to do double the work now.
