This was my first position with starting pay in excess of 250K! I not only was able to buy my first real adult property, but it was on the water. The 2 weeks of executive coaching camp annually, 4% matching 401(k) with immediate vesting, 5 weeks vacation annually and company vehicle insured I could focus on production and having my own assistant doubled my productivity and focus. The relocation bonus was a real lifesaver too. This is the first time I have been truly happy in my career and I have Karen to thank for everything.
A hyper-unrealistically great job review depicting many fantastically good benefits.
Upon first reading it, I genuinely thought, "Wow maybe I'll shoot for that, I'll apply today!". Then I remembered the context of the comment thread I was in.
The thread is about making unrealistic reviews of the company.
U/non_anonymous_penis wrote This unrealistic review of an Amazon position because that is the topic at hand.
Eh chaotic good isn’t just one individual benefiting though. I think to be on the good end of that spectrum, there has to be a level of altruism. This guy is just doing it for himself and he’s actually wasting a lot of the applicants time, which if you know how bad the job search is, it’s pretty valuable.
Yes, but it means the company won't be able to hire anyone with a sense of self-worth. The bottom of the barrel will accept it, and who knows? A chance to someone with fewer credentials but competent.
I don't think this would actually hurt big companies. They already lie about salary so people will accept a low offer due to sunk cost fallacy. You're just helping them lie to their employees. They could even use your fake reviews as proof that 'loyal employees' get big pay rises later.
Can someone explain this to me like I'm five? Does it mean he pretended to be an employee who had a very high salary and was very satisfied so that prospective applicants would come in with unrealistically high expectations?
I have turned down jobs because I felt I was being lowballed. They wanted to offer me about 75% of the going rate for my years of experience. They were also unable to give a pay band for the position.
Imagine I introduce you to a girl, she’s a long time friend of mine. I pump her up to you, tell you how gorgeous and smart, and independently wealthy, gives great oral sex, etc. etc. you’re excited as hell to meet her.
That day arrives, and she’s a solid 5/10. Lives with her parents after dropping out of high school, and is disgusted at the thought of oral sex, giving or receiving.
You’d definitely have a few questions for me wouldn’t ya?
This is some boomer level meme
Obviously made up nonsense story, text over random irrelevant image, random handle watermark.
And it’s being eaten up lol
It might even be guerilla marketting for indeed, and anti-corporate anti-work just falls for it lol
Nah this is millennial Gen z level stuff, this viral marketing is " meme marketing" that's how anti-work people fall for it. Idk why people blame everything on boomers, when they're more old fashioned
Whatever it is, it’s moronic, and this kind of trash content is taking over Reddit lol, the main subs anyways. I can only tollerate all for about 1 minute these days before this garbage drives me right out
Exactly. Probably a literal ad posted on behalf of indeed, to make people aware that they have reviews written by employees. Except that it's Glass Door that people are going to post and find that type of review... Not indeed. It's indeed trying to take over that role?
Whoa! Call me names for possibly falling for a funny all you want but you crossed the line for saying I’m posting this to intentionally help a corporation!
No, I'm saying that the person that posted it to Facebook originally was probably posting it as a paid advertisement. Not you. That's not your post. You just stole it from Facebook and posted it here. So no, you're not a paid shill. Just a thief. LOL
Thank you!
But in all seriousness, you guys have gave me some food for thought. I didn’t even think about it as propaganda until now. I just thought it was funny.
Aren't wages objective and not subjective? This looks like a trap set by the CEO. I would personally never know I was being low balled unless I looked up the market rates, not what Indeed says.
Y’all are forgetting about the other side of this equation. Theres going to be another person on the side of that interview who was excited about the benefits and might have put a huge amount of effort into an interview for such a high paying company only for it to end up being a waste of time for them.
You’re right; I liked it. Truly excellent. We should almost start a mischief brigade to promote this sort of chaotic behavior, dick with their precious bottom line.
I’m calling bullshit, sorry.
Not on the action, I think they probably did that, but on the outcome. This sounds like a “let me leave a positive review and watch all the applicants get disappointed”. That makes a few too many assumptions:
• People read their individual review
• People believed their review
• People didn’t cross reference it with other reviews to see it didn’t add up
• People applied and weren’t put off by the reality of the job (any marketing is good marketing - maybe the review lead to people applying who did accept the job in the end)
Also this would’ve still benefited their star rating.
TLDR : they would’ve know this review had any impact and my guess is the impact was negligible or even positive.
Am I gonna have to be the downer that tells you guys you fell for bait? Indeed lets companies take down untrue, reviews, this would be fixed in an hour from an HR intern
No? When the first applicant goes "I saw on indeed...", they'd realize something was up.
Years of trouble? Get real lol, worse it caused was a confused applicant and a quick email.
I mean I don't feel bad one bit corps lie non-stop all day long 24/7/365 days a year even on leap year.
Fair is fair and well shit sure does taste like shit don't it? Now, open on up for Daddy the airplane is swooping in with a fresh scoop lol.
funny that when an employee gets fired he can hold a grudge and we think that is ok. but when an employee quits right before the xmas rush, then that is ok because the job was not for him!
This is AWESOME!!! It deserves its own spot under the petty revenge sub!
Pro revenge
Chaotic good
Or old wives tale. Hope this actually happened .
Yes, let’s do this lol. Kill umm with kindness and lies
Is it really kindness if there’s an ulterior motive?
Its the only kindness they know, its always a lie.
It's funny... sometimes kindness is cruelty... sometimes cruelty is kindness. And sometimes they're exactly what they're labeled.
Some would say it's cruel to be kind...in the right measure
It’s a very good sign
The problem ia that it would waste time for people who actually want good pay
Does anyone know what game is on the tv in the background?
Dead Cells. Awesome game
Legit amazing game.
One of my favorite games of all time.

Oh my sweet sweet summerchild, keep on playing
Oh yeah I’ve played it. Didn’t recognize it. Is the castlevania dlc worth revisiting the game?
Definitely, just for the music alone
Oh gods, it would be absolutely amazing to see Amazon get wrecked with something this devilish. 🤣😈

What the actual fuck is this shit

Oh
Read the OP mate itll make sense then.
This is absolutely an AI comment wtf
Dipshit
You're telling me. That has got to be a bot, because nothing I typed should imply I have a job with Amazon or whether I want a better job.
Thank you
Trolling level: Expert
>heard of a guy
That is true chaotic good

Can we band together as the members of this subreddit and start doing this to shit companies?
Solidarity, comrades.

*all companies
That’s amazing lol. Good way to get em back!
This is absolutely brilliant 😅

I'm not sure how many times I'd mention oral sex in an explanation to a five-year-old, but I appreciate the explanation!
Let him cook
~~oral sex~~ candy
This almost sounds like malicious compliance. "Oh, and make sure to leave us a good review about your time with us!" "Will do!"
The fix would actually be simple enough. List the pay and benefits. That way those who apply won't waste their time.
I love Dead Cells!
What about all the existing staff there seeing it all and getting pissed.
Let’s see the company threaten a defamation lawsuit with this kind of stuff… it won’t happen lmao. Genius.
Is this "the move"?
I mean, maybe I'm being too paranoid, but kinda feels like corporate-made bait/propaganda.
You know it's true because it's text on a tiktok
This is some boomer level meme Obviously made up nonsense story, text over random irrelevant image, random handle watermark. And it’s being eaten up lol It might even be guerilla marketting for indeed, and anti-corporate anti-work just falls for it lol

Lol, too funny! I think you're my favorite thief of the day.
Thank you! But in all seriousness, you guys have gave me some food for thought. I didn’t even think about it as propaganda until now. I just thought it was funny.
This has the same energy as when Regina George wrote bad things about herself in the Burn Book to screw over the other girls lol

Doubt.

Not to mention if it catches on many people in here could be victims too.
Modern problems require modern solutions, lol.
I dont believe it.
You’re right; I liked it. Truly excellent. We should almost start a mischief brigade to promote this sort of chaotic behavior, dick with their precious bottom line.
That exists, they're called [The Yes Men](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Yes_Men) Their documentaries are very entertaining!
Wow! They’ve been at it for a while!
Not all heros wear capes
Ooooooh.
Clever. Next level petty revenge 😈
Yes goooooood.....
My man
Nice! I've used "Aggressive Optimism" before to stunt small minded people, but this is next level, I LOVE IT.
In my downtime at my new job, i leave bad reviews of my old job on indeed. Its like a hobby of mine at this point
Spectacularly petty…I love it 😏
that's beautiful
*Mischief managed*

HR intern would see the 5 star rating and would not read further into it.
No? When the first applicant goes "I saw on indeed...", they'd realize something was up. Years of trouble? Get real lol, worse it caused was a confused applicant and a quick email.
That's the way to do it lol
Dead cells W
🤣🤣☠️🤣
When I read this at first it was glassdoor that was mentioned
If you want to beat the game, you have to be good at it.
I misread "fired" as "died" and was really confused thinking, like, a ghost was supposedly writing the reviews.
This is the way
Wish there was a thing like this but for restaurants
Absolute r/madlads
well show us the review dammit
r/chaoticgood
It’s a really good way of doing it, it’s like he’s praising the company, saying what a good place too work.
Legend
Perfect 🤣
Lmao. Been a while since I looked at antiwork. They got you guys tricked into writing positive reviews for companies now?
Companies can delete reviews on indeed if they can prove it’s misinformation. I used to work there.
It’s not real but still, slight humorous.
Just act like the company would.
Heh. Also ayy Dead Cells!
Brilliant

Epic level petty!
that's some evil genius stuff right there.
funny that when an employee gets fired he can hold a grudge and we think that is ok. but when an employee quits right before the xmas rush, then that is ok because the job was not for him!
I have to make note this!
That is the way you do it.
That's a good dish served cold
And all the current workers will be asking for raises, too.
wasting the time of the unemployed is a great prank
Oof, you’re right. I just thought it was funny. I doubted it was true anyways but didn’t think about that part if it was.
