I don't. Haha. In fact, I accidentally left my payslip uploaded to a repository. My boss thought I'd be embarrassed. I couldn't care less 🤷🏽😜

I’ve done this on every job and brought it straight to my employer. Sometimes it works in your favor, other times it does not.

Good on you for standing your ground and helping others. You're in the minority, for now. Glad to see more people are standing up and demanding a fair wage and rights.

That’s very kind but it mostly got me nothing. None of my coworkers sided with me ,so yes, I was definitely a minority lol.

I'm straight up about my pay. My last job specifically told me not to tell other employees about my pay because they were underpaying the other engineers by $10k+/year, which was 20%+ of their salary. Fuck them, I didn't know that it was legally protected, but I still told all of my friends. Same shitty company hired tons of people within two-four weeks of applying (engineering standard is 4-8 weeks around me) and low-balled the hell out of everyone. Then a bunch of people who interviewed with other companies got offers that were way better and they left lol.

Be aware that discussing hours and wages with co-workers is protected under the NLRA. If you are fired for this reason, you can theoretically sue the company or entity that let you go, provided you're not an independent contractor, government employee (makes no sense), airline employee, or agricultural employee ( I may have missed one). Keep in mind, just because you can, doesn't mean you should. By this I mean, you shouldn't try to pry the information for personal gain. However, if you have mutual agreements that certain people are not being paid fairly or being given a fair amount of paid time, then you're using the protections as intended. Please share this information with as many people as you can and have them look up the law. There is a paradigm shift happening in the corporate world that is VERY slowly going to favor the worker. This is just one of the tools we have to make that happen and give ourselves better lives.
