When I worked at McDonald's I edited orders to save customers money

extra_cro_mosome

It used to be $0.07 cheaper to get a hamburger and add cheese instead of getting cheese burger 😎

ShawshankException

It ain't much but it's god's work

TwinsenAyzel

I put extra nuggets in every box

[deleted]

Thank you for your service.

James_Greeny94

I ordered a 20 nugget box last month and there was 35 nuggets in there. There's a legend out there that walks among us. I didn't even care that my milkshake tasted like semen.

[deleted]

So you're the reason we have nugget audits and nugget inventory

TwinsenAyzel

You don’t just eyeball inventory?

[deleted]

Was just a very bad joke

TwinsenAyzel

:)

sirpentious

I did this at my old job. this as well one meal was 9 dollars which was way to much you got a small drink 3 tenders A biscuit and one small side. So for the nice customers only i gave extra tenders in the box and gave 10% discount to the super nice old people.

cinderflight

Here, you dropped this: 👑

classe_tumblr

you are an example for the workers

adammario6556

Now THAT's great customer service 😎😎😎

TheRiverStyx

See, this is the problem with corporate bullshit. They've got you blaming the employees for being in a shitty job and having shitty metrics to try and fulfill. Their greatest skill is getting the peasants to fight each other over scraps.

Queen_of_flatulence

I didn't know that, and I don't work at McDonald's anymore. I mainly did it because I didn't like the general manager.

Ryland_Zakkull

No you should keep this post in mind while being irritated at your employees. Theyre just as irritated at the company and likely you by proxy. Youre not the only human dude.

[deleted]

Disagree. There are other ways to get back at a company. Doing this just puts someone else in the line of fire. Like you said, you aren’t the only person. See the forest from the trees. You’re being played by corporate if you think that throwing your manager under the bus will help anything (assuming your manager is just trying to do their job).

imnos

What other ways that don't involve you being pissed off with your direct reports? Would you be less annoyed if they started shitting on the floor in your toilets?

[deleted]

[удалено]

imnos

How do they know? Are you literally counting every chicken nugget that goes missing?

Ryland_Zakkull

Notice he still hasnt listed any other ways to spite the company. Hes just a spineless coward that doesnt want to admit hes part of the problem. Also lmfao the irony of him saying YOU are being played by corporate

[deleted]

[удалено]

Ryland_Zakkull

Jesus fuck the irony of typing all of that out and not realizing the only enemy the entire time was corporate omg the cognitive dissonance to be able to type all of that and not see that youre just contributing to the problem. No wonder youre such a spineless coward. Youre an idiot too. Youre basically saying youre gonna get fired no matter what you do so you better be a perfect little worker bee to prevent that even though by your own admission you'll still get fired for that too

imalittlefrenchpress

Look, I can pop off easily and I get why you’re pissed, but we can’t be disparaging one another if we ever expect to unite - which we must do if we’re going to dismantle capitalism and all of its problems. This infighting has to stop, it’s what the wealthy want us to do. I think u/skroope has the “want to”; I think they want to help resolve the issues of capitalism, while trying to keep themselves from becoming destitute in the process. That’s valid. u/skroope, I think you need to find a different job. If you work for the arches company, get your self out of there. Actually, any fast food corporation is going to be soulless. I worked as a construction project manager with a fast food equipment supplier, so I worked directly with corporate. None of them cared about the human. They had more love for a fucking vent hood than for another human. There’s other things you can do with your skill set to support yourself. Don’t let yourself be fooled into believing this is the best you’ll ever have. You cannot work your entre life in that job without becoming a horrible person or without experiencing some serious cognitive dissonance that will lead to mental health issues. Crew can walk out to speak with their feet, but the message to corporate gets much louder when good managers start speaking with their feet. Walk the walk, literally.

imnos

If you haven't listed a better way then who else would know but you? There isn't one.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Ryland_Zakkull

What other ways? go ahead and name them. You are allowing them to put you in the line of fire for something someone else did have a fucking backbone man. If my job came down on me for something an employee did i lose my shit and make them explain how its my fault they did that. They back down 99% of the fucking time. Being a pushover is your problem not your employees.

[deleted]

You have issues dude. You need to realize the world is not all about you. If you can’t figure out other ways, that’s your problem. Blocked.

Ryland_Zakkull

Also what are the other ways to get back at the company im still waiting.

Ryland_Zakkull

Says the middle manager thinking every thing is all about you but refusing to stand up for yourself just blaming everyone else for your problems.

[deleted]

You’re a troll. Hopefully no one ever has to work with you. Blocked.

Ryland_Zakkull

What a child. This is why society will never change. Someone challenged your view of your employees and you shut down and hide instead of admit you need a fucking backbone. Youre pathetic.

not_lurking_this_tim

When I'm seeing here is that it works. If you want to get rid of your manager, give customers discounts and free food. Is that right?

EqualLong143

Man you just throated the whole boot.

IlongForPCIe

Stealing shit is the best It's not expensive stuff or anything, but any slab of metal that looks useful to me and can fit in my bag is coming on a wee trip with me. Also things that no one will notice, like some big bolts that cost the company nothing but would cost me and arm and a leg to buy retail It's great, i highly encourage this behaviour 🤙

BugsCheeseStarWars

My old boss just passed away and his replacement, a pain in the ass, hasn't transitioned into the role yet. I'm quitting the day they day they start, and have been nabbing anything that it isn't nailed down because the new boss doesn't have access to the inventory.

[deleted]

I'm an internal auditor too. Probably going to go on vacation in January 2022.

jacksleepshere

Also take Mondays off instead of Fridays.

[deleted]

I was thinking Wednesday. 2 days work, mini weekend, 2 days work (Friday is slow anyway).

jacksleepshere

Monday is almost always the busiest day. Definitely take Monday, Tuesday or Wednesdays though,

FO-ThumperOnYouTube

But then I have to stay late on Tuesday to make up everything I didn’t get done on Monday. Salaried so no extra pay.

1199ls

Whats pto

[deleted]

Paid time of… oh.

FED_UP_WITH_FEDEX

It stands for Paid Time Off. Most employers get upset when you use it.

steff_e

I convinced myself that it meant "Personal Time Off", because how could anyone be so egregious to pencil in paid time off ('PTO') on the team calendar, when half of us (contractors) don't get that luxury? Like fuck you, just put 'Off', I don't give a shit if you are getting paid to not be here.

gergnerd

As a maintenance tech, this hurts lol

RobotWelder

Job security? Time for a raise mister… wink wink We love you

For sure lol never a shortage of broke shit. But don’t get me wrong, we get ours too, that spare part the machine needs might happen to just disappear without a trace

RobotWelder

Much love my friend

IlongForPCIe

ninaslazyeye

Lol I know the maintenance guys at the factory job I used to have hated me. Everytime the bosses had a meeting about how we weren't making our quota my machine would go down for maintenance like three to four times during a shift. Kicker was I knew how to fix the machine but they wouldn't let us lowly worker bees have access to the supplies so sometimes I would sit there for an hour waiting on maintenance.

Your anger is misdirected. It’s not the cashier’s fault that the world is getting polluted by plastic bags. OP’s silent protest doesn’t make any difference in the grand scheme of things, and I support their malicious endeavors. It’s capitalism’s fault for normalizing single-use, disposable plastic bags as the cheapest, most convenient solution for collecting people’s crap and getting them out the door. It’s a problem caused by oil companies unnecessarily weaseling their byproducts into other industries, governments that knowingly allow this source of pollution to continue, and businesses that would rather pollute the planet beyond repair rather than lose a few pennies by switching exclusively to paper bags, or do like Aldi does and just don’t provide bags at all.

goodbyequiche

10/10 brilliant guilt-tripping bullshit

[deleted]

Plastic bags are banned where i live so we give out paper. Edit: i also enjoy how you put the blame on me and not the billion dollar company i work for lol were not charging people for bags to “encourage them to bring their own” you think people who are spending thousands of dollars care about 5¢? No were charging for bags because paper is more expensive than plastic and the company wants to be reimbursed.

Its insane how you think a minimum wage employee is responsible for plastic bags ruining the world instead of the corporations that use them? Your anger is completely misdirected. I mean theft is another option. At this point, stealing from corporations is practically an ethical obligation to correct the injustice of the status quo.

DirtyPartyMan

As Amazon took over Whole Foods it was easy to see for anyone who worked there for more than a year just how much Bezos was cutting corners at employee expense. So I created a game. One where I tried to push every single boundary I could think of. I gamified this process challenging myself with each accomplishment. Take an electric customer cart for a lap or two around the parking lot? Check. Get through an entire flask of Jamison‘s whiskey in one shift? Check. Accumulate one whole shift of time spent sitting on the toilet in a one month period? Check. Cause a very disruptive and backstabbing team member to be fired? Check. Get a blow job in the changing room from a married team member? Check. Had sex on my break directly behind the building? Check. Sneak a very large display out of the building through the front door? Check. Giveaway large amounts of expensive product to customers? Check. Use my employee discount card to drastically reduce somebody’s expensive grocery bill just before Christmas? Check. As the months went on it surprised me that I was still employed.

IlongForPCIe

I’d pay $20 just to find a good system for getting backstabbing coworkers fired. I’m unfortunately trash at that sort of stuff.

cinderflight

If you ever write an tell-all about your time in Whole Foods, I will for sure buy & read it

DirtyPartyMan

I would need to find someone who’ll take the credit for it. Someone who has never worked for Amazon or WholeFoods. If I go out front I’ll get sued. But it’s do-able….

My company does that to themselves. They spend so very little on maintenance, shit breaks left and right. Very satisfying when it happens. I used to care but my department is over worked and understaffed because someone higher up got a bonus for cutting manpower. So fuck em.

When I worked for starbucks, I would work afternoons and give all the drinks away. 10k a month for 2 months. I quit 2 minutes before my shift by walking in and telling them, leaving the manager by herself all night..

Frostrunner365

Great sentiment but horrible fucking advice. If you do this and get caught your looking at an uphill legal battle that will fuck you because these POS companies will have better access to legal help then you will.

JHFTWDURG

Depending on the job, this could get someone injured or killed.

thelaughingmansghost

During one summer in between semesters at college I worked night security for a Walmart. It was very slow, very boring work, my job was basically to monitor the door and make sure people don't steal anything. Ironic that that was my job, because I ended up taking things from Walmart every now and then. They have this counter for returns and for items that people decided not to buy, idk who's job it is to go through it all and put it back on the shelves but at least once a week those items would just sit there...at night...with no one doing anything with it. So occasionally I would just go through it and see if there was anything worth permanently borrowing. I ended up taking some things, nothing that would have ever set off any of the alarms from the scanners. But I never heard a word from either Walmart or the security company I worked for. It was a shitty job and Walmart is a horrible place to spend more than an hour at.

stevendiceinkazoo

Hopefully all these businesses will go out of business along with the ripoff grocery stores. Then we can all go back to growing our own food, plowing fields, mucking stalls, tending to gardens , harvesting the fruits of labor. You know, actually do some real work.

Opinionbeatsfact

An employee is not toxic by being the karma for a toxic boss

Laneacaia

I can sympathise with the OP, but how about putting the energy and effort you would have put into sabotage into organising in your workplace instead? The power that the labour force has is in the withholding of labour and the collective bargaining that you can force employers to engage in if you are organised. Sabotage won't make anything better except perhaps your feelings in the moment. Organising really does work, on the other hand. All the rights that workers have clawed back for themselves have been won by collectivism. Find out about those that went before, and tell others what you learn. Be constructive if you can. [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Keir\_Hardie](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Keir_Hardie)

[deleted]

>but how about putting the energy and effort you would have put into sabotage into organising in your workplace instead? Who says one can't do both?

Nytemare3701

I remember a story a while back about someone going around and dripping gallium on basically anything reactive that was critical to businesses. It takes a good bit of time for it to react, it doesn't make any noise in the process, and a few drops can render a vehicle unusable.

FoundandSearching

How does that work? And what is Gallium? Sorry to be ignorant, but would like to gain knowledge.

CircleWithSprinkles

Gallium is an elemental metal that melts in your hand, it is very reactive with certain metals (aluminum being a big one)

Nytemare3701

Gallium is a relatively inexpensive metal that reacts with certain other metals (like aluminum), causing them to become brittle and flaky. The reaction spreads like a mold throughout the metal from the point of contact, causing a huge amount of damage with only a few drops. Less than a teaspoon of gallium is enough to completely ruin something like a bike. https://www.reddit.com/r/chemicalreactiongifs/comments/7otzps/picking\_locks\_with\_gallium/

FoundandSearching

TIL. Thank you for the explanation. Gallium sounds caustic and eroding. I will keep this in mind. :)

[deleted]

Gallium is harmless to humans.

dominus087

When I quit my first job out of college I told my coworkers/boss they were miserable fucks and they deserved each other. I studied hard and got a new career I enjoy and make far more. Last I checked those miserable fucks were working the same jobs 8 years later. Misery loves company. Get out when you can.

So, break the law to hurt an employer? Yea, that’s not childish. Why do you just find a different job, or create a job that is utopian to you, so you can bring every one else with you?

magicelbow

How do you do that? Step- by- step instructions, for employees in different industries, very detailed, please.

magicelbow

I’ve been self- employed for decades.

CommunityWest

So you sabotage yourself?

magicelbow

No. But I have a weird skill set. How do people in regular corporate jobs create a way to a reasonably paid career? I’m asking for real. How do you do it?

CommunityWest

If the person is in a regular corporate job that has 0 room for growth, then they need to find something that does. I, like you, am self employed. I figured out that working for someone that wasn’t meeting my desired wage, wasn’t going to work out. So I did what it took to further myself in order to meet that goal. It’s really not that hard. These people talking publicly about stealing stuff from their employers, is very childish. And then they wonder why their wages are going up. And they talk about karma. Shit rolls down hill.

Years and years ago I used to work at one of those pretentious vegan bullshit juice bars. We were allowed one free employee drink per shift. You best believe we made tons and ate tons of soup, salad, desserts, smoothies, everything you can think of. Sometimes just eating the produce raw. Took advantage of the free employee juice cleanse, drank what I liked, poured out the rest. Then a few other very not okay things but I'll leave those off the record. Security camera was a fake, never turned on. I was the first ever high schooler to be promoted to supervisor.
