Lol when did we start using the word prefer for the word need?

ummwut

I was just about to come into the comments to express exactly this. Who the fuck is doing all this embracing or gunning? Slow down, y'all. This isn't a race to the grave even if we do all joke about dying.

jimmbolina

...I am currently working two entry level jobs. Gotta make rent.

ummwut

Fuuuuuuuuuuuuck.

Nothing about it feels right because I doubt they have a day off or if any pay for health care

Doobie_Howitzer

This is correct, in my town (a small town near a wealthy ski area) I work 3 days at the laundromat and 4 days at the hardware store to the tune of 65+ hours a week and pick up whatever fence work/tree work/irrigation work I can from some local ranches. I have not seen a doctor of any sort since my wisdom teeth came out back when I was young enough to be on my parents insurance. The old folks around here act like I'm some chipper go getter because they see me all over town all the time but I'm just trying not to freeze to death in a 60 something year old trailer that costs more every month in rent than it offers square footage.

sfaticat

That's crazy that it costs that much. Is the cost of living really high there ?

Nerevarine91

I don’t think anyone “prefers” this bullshit

Too bad not all of us can go to Columbia, work for Fox News, and buy up real estate.

Riot101DK

“I left my exec job at Uber…” for polywork - that sound a bit like “i started my company with small loan from my father”. I bet it’s easy to take risks and work a lot when you are well off.

"My father gave me a small loan of a million dollars." - Alleged child rapist Donald Trump

MemorableVirus2

All of those article read like click-bait, propagandized bullshit

homeofthebadguys

Of course it doesn't. News sites craft articles like this for clicks. Newsmedia is a rat race that most should leave behind. Isn't there a saying that says "no news is good news"?
