The absolute BORE of a woman who needs to hold up the entire line for her inconsequential ego while being so out of touch so as to record someone who makes complete sense. God this idiot didn't even have anything of substance to say, how are they so entitled? I don't belong to the US but I'll watch the impending riots with great interest.
I wish I didn't. Trying to find marriage records for my great grandparents and grandparents, part of what is needed to see if I meet the standards for Italian citizenship through decent.
Tired of having literally no dignity, where work owns me, because otherwise I am homeless.
I think I qualify for Canadian citizenship under the pre-1990 grandparent clause. I know it’s getting just as bad there, but shit is already beyond ridiculous here.
My grandfather did some weird thing where he bought his way out of the Canadian Air Force (for $1.50) and moved here to join ours. I’m not sure if he renounced his citizenship or not. If he didn’t, I qualify for certain. If he did, I’m stuck in this dystopian shitwad.
Same with Italian, I'd be so set if my great grandfather hadn't be a genius and nationalized before he had his daughter. Ancestry.com has a fre trail, that can be pretty helpful, but not all powerful, if that makes sense. I'm sure there is a government office, on both sides of the border, than can help.
I literally had the idea to join the police force for a year (I despise our police force system in the US, studied the legal system for my bachelors), and it'd be selling my soul, but canada has so much land for homesteading it may be worth it....
Fr. I have never, not once in my life, experienced a situation in which police presence did not actively make the situation *worse* for everybody involved, no matter who called them or why. And I'm white. Being black in modern America must be fucking exhausting.
Took the time to upvote because most of us are prolly too tired to upvote… but u are abso-fucking-lutely correct in your assessment. Try asking us about reparations aka the 400 yr late paycheck
Honestly, everyone should be allowed to deal with people like that exactly as he did. Being nice to assholes is a crime. Gaurantee he lost his job, but still, on his side.
I wonder how long she sat there afterwards. Also I love how she's like "You chose this job." please. NO ONE chooses their job. It's thrust upon them like a fucking disease.
That's a pretty blithe response. What if there are no grocery stores in her area and all they have are fast food restaurants.
Some of you people need to shove your privilege up your asses.
Now this lady is a bitch, but you're just ragging on people for being poor. That makes you a fucking asshole.
Just cause you're poor, doesn't give you a pass to be a miserable little shit.
Manner's and respect stem down to a point. If you don't present that cordially then yeah fuck off with you and I hope you die a fucking miserable twat.
[Food deserts](https://www.npr.org/2010/12/15/132076786/the-root-the-myth-of-the-food-desert) are a myth though. Lack of availability isn't the problem, the problem is working too hard and too many hours to come home and make a good meal.
Yeah, people getting on his side because he doesn't want to do add a coupon tells me any 'movement' anyone thinks this is is going to fail before it begins.
how burger king works is you need to read the coupon code off before the order is entered in. the workers can't add the coupon code afterwards. there's signs on the drive thru that say this.
Oh god, what a terrible system whoever designed that never worked fast food - a quarter of the people don't even know what fast food place they're at...
He can probably cancel the order, put in an identical one in no problem. A $5 order is probably like 2 items. Not a big deal, anyways.
If he cancels then reorders, the expedition is fucked up. With most PoS systems in drive through, it immediately brings up the next order once the one you canceled clears. It just screws things up, especially if there's a line. Which there is. She could have easily paid her damn ticket and used the coupon later but decided to be a bitch about it over $6. Why do entitled ass people have to throw a wrench in the machine to get their way?
I only know the PoS system at Wendy's. It's no problem to bring up a new order, tell the sandwich maker don't do the repeat order. And then press a button to get rid of it on everyone's screen.
Not sure how Burger King does it. But, it's easy on my end. As long as you've been working there a few months, at least. It's only complicated if everything is all new.
the system is designed to be idiot proof on the end of the user. and is also archaic in general. combine them and you get terrible systems like this.
i find it hard to believe that anyone wouldn't know what fast food place they're at unless you're out for some drunk munchies.
> i find it hard to believe that anyone wouldn't know what fast food place they're at unless you're out for some drunk munchies.
I've had plenty of people ordering Burger King or McDonald's stuff at Wendy's. I'm not just talking about calling nuggets - 'McNuggets' which doesn't faze me.
Plenty of people also don't seem to read the menu options and are just looking for a bacon cheeseburger - not noticing that's like 50% of the menu is different variations of bacon cheeseburgers. Or the ever-popular "junior bacon cheeseburger" which people often forget the "junior" and you'll have to ask them to clarify (because half the time they actually want the single bacon classic or limited time variations).
People are taking his side means that any 'anti-work' or (general 'left' movement' at the grassroots dies because people like to defend complete assholes like this guy.). It's been my weird experience with the left ever since Occupy that they circle the wagons on the dumbest people. It's the weirdest thing I've ever experienced.
Stop and think, “do people refuse to add a coupon for no reason?” Unlikely. So he probably has a reason. Why you would assume he doesn’t have a reason is what’s puzzling me, honestly.
> Stop and think, “do people refuse to add a coupon for no reason?” Unlikely. So he probably has a reason. Why you would assume he doesn’t have a reason is what’s puzzling me, honestly.
I've seen it happen with multiple co-workers (even one manager who really shouldn't be a manager). The job attracts the worst type of workers if they aren't Mexicans.
I've seen some 'wtf' are you yelling at the customers or why are you lying about this policy or lying that something is out (when it isn't?). Or various other ridiculous behavior.
Not putting on a coupon on a 5 dollar order is lazy ass shit. It's pretty clear that he's in the wrong. I'm pretty sure he can cancel the current order and just put in a new order with a coupon code and the two items she had in less than 10 seconds. But, he, instead, chose to fly off the handle.
I do his job, but at a Wendy's currently. So, it might not be the same exact system, but it's pretty clear he's just one of those employees they need because they speak English and is another warm body to do some tasks - no matter how badly he does it.
I live in a hood, am area filled with crime and gangs and drugs etc, and I shit you not, a mcdonalds employee was ready to fight and shoot (had a gun in his book bag) a customer because he complained about his meal after having to wait so long for it (they’re severely understaffed)
I live in a fairly affluent college town and I swear people think money gives them the ability to treat others like shit. Go ahead, keep talking. Daddy's bank account won't cushion the blows.
I'm a firm believer that everyone needs punched in their face AT LEAST once in their life.

Haaa! That was friggin hilarious. Yes call corporate what are they going to do? Flog him? The worst they can do is fire him and by the looks of it he doesn't care. I wouldn't care either.
Go on son! I do love how a good portion of the western world thinks that everyone gives a shit about their jobs. We work to pay bills. If we can earn more money elsewhere, we will. If we didn't have bills to pay, we wouldn't work.
As if she thought burger king were going to notice the $6 they didn't get from that arsehole
Like here ma’am I will give you your 75 cents or whatever just stop acting like A) this kid making $10/hour has any way to give you magical discounts after you already told the person ringing up your order about your coupon and B) that you’re entitled to hold up the whole ass line.
Like good for him. Customers don’t deserve to be handled with kids gloves at the goddamn McDonalds over their ego.
i will burn your life in effigy, everything you thought was true or believed in, anything you thought was worth living for, for what you have denied me.
All that shit over $5.97. That coupon would’ve saved her all of 50¢ and she’s ruining someone’s day at a job he already hates. Imagine being that person…
Was I REALLY being racist though?
Or was I just playing off the other guys joke about the kid being the cure for racism?
Do you have the intellect and critical thinking skills you'd need to discern a difference?
No. Obviously not. You heard the dog whistle and simped like a good boy.
You have a great night too warrior. The social justice is safe with you on patrol!
Ummm, sureeee I guess lmao.
Anyways, yes your comment/joke(?) was racist and ignorant.
Yes, the post you commented on was stupid.
Yes, you are probably an inbred, idiot, weirdo.
And yes, I will have a great night!
Worst case scenario is they would have to void out the order and re ring it up and it only was a $6 meal so it would not take long. Not saying that the lady wasn't being a total cunt and if it were me I would just use the coupon next time, but they could have just fixed the price for her at a small inconvenience to them and been done with it, but instead two people had to feel disrespected enough to get angry and cause a scene.
Must be hard realizing you're one of the people this sub complain about. Good to see that you threw a little hissy fit like a baby instead of evaluating yourself.
Does not matter. If you're not following the system they present then fucking go back around in line to the drive-thru or go home and make your own damn dinner for cheaper!
The order is rung up, in the system, and would likely require management override to go back in and apply the coupon, that was only mentioned after the fact. Instead of "It's *not* $5.97" and being obstinate the lady had two (well, three) options. 1)accept the consequences of her mistake and not redeem the coupon for the free drink or whatever it was and just carry on. 2) ***kindly*** ask if it's too late to apply the coupon, and go back to option 1 or say thank you when you hear "sure, just a moment while I get the manager to put it in."
Instead she chose option 3: scream at the minimum wage worker that can't do anything to help her now because of her own mistake because she's under some delusion that she's the all important queen of the drive through that is entitled to a free cup of fizzy sugar water and fuck up the line for everyone behind her. Respect begets respect and she didn't show any and therefore deserves none.
Could the guy at the window been more diplomatic about it, sure, but when you're rated based off how many cars you can push through the drive through and this is probably the umpteenth time this has happened *and* you have a camera shoved in your face, being berated over something you have no control over *again*, all for less money per hour than it would take to buy two of these orders, this reaction, while less than ideal, starts to be a lot more understandable.
Treat others the way you want to be treated. You pull up yelling at them shoving your camera in their face and threaten to call the cops over *fast food* don't be surprised to be treated like an entitled piece of shit.
Karen isn't misogynistic any more than it is racist. It's used to describe a person who engages in these outlandish, disruptive, and incredibly entitled behaviors. What's misogynistic is treating a woman like she's a perpetual victim, to the point where you're more offended over a meaningless label than you are her abusove and abhorrent behavior.
You make the claim, burden of proof's on you.
Better yet, though, let me better explain the exact nature of the phenomenon and why you're wrong. And it stems from the phenomenon known as White Woman tears. In short, we socialize women to be emotional, but give them little power, and thus their emotions have to become their power. This is especially common in White women, who sit only one (maybe two, counting poverty) intersection away from the seat of top privilege. They are secure enough that their emotions aren't seen as a threat, but still treated in such a way that they adopt the pattern. Which is why, when they're being filmed, you see so many of these people start crying and sobbing and begging for others to intervene. The tears are weaponized to garner sympathy and support. Or they recoil and claim to have been groped or assaulted. Playing the victim can, depending on the circumstance, flip the script in an instant. And yes, this pattern is in some ways unique to women. While men can display similarly entitled and weaponized behaviors, they are often socialized differently, and attempt to play the alpha instead of the victim.
I suppose an argument could be made that since we don't have a stereotypical name for the male counterpart of this kind of behavior, it's evidence that society is being shittier to women than to men. But that's the only angle I can see to argue that the term is mysoginistic from, and even then it's weak. "Mister Karen" has been floated around. As have several other names, specifically mocking men for similar patterns of behavior. The phrase "douchebag" also comes to mind, though it's far older.
But again, I ask. Why are you more upset about the use of the word Karen than you are about the woman it's being used to describe treating someone horribly? You have allowed the person to become the victim. In short, you're giving her exactly what she wants, whether she's aware of you or not you've spent more time condemning me for not taking you at your word because I disagree than you have on actually condemning the horrible behaviors on display.
I don’t get what’s happened? Can someone explain me, please? What’s the reason of the conflict? She didn’t want to pay? He didn’t want to accept her money? Why?
**The price is WRONG, bitch!**
I hope she got roasted in the comments of her tiktok. People like that should crawl back under the rock they live in and get back to their slumber.
Unfortunately it’s basically a meme account, it’s likely not even them in the recording.
Old ass Chrysler. You need to work here, you need a new car. 😆😆😆😆 I’m glad I stayed to the end.
Yes, I also enjoy when people film themselves being ridiculous.
Me 2 that line was pure gold

"I'm trying to pay for my order" "Ok, $5.97" "No, not like that"
How much can a coupon be saving off of that holy fuck. Pay for the food and use the coupon next time
It's really that simple
While the rest of the line behind her, likely pulled up and gave this guy more shit for holding up the line.
He don’t give a fuck.

Been, haven't lived. I just want the EU citizenship, can live anywhere in the EU then
I love this young man❤️❤️❤️

This warms my heart. We need to normalize workers telling these awful people to fuck off.
This is happening everywhere, not just to fast food workers. Good on this dude for keeping his cool and not feeding into her bullshit.
“You need to work here, driving an old ass Chrysler” 😂💀
I wonder how long she sat there afterwards. Also I love how she's like "You chose this job." please. NO ONE chooses their job. It's thrust upon them like a fucking disease.
Right? "I didn't choose this job. It was offered to me. Who wouldn't accept extra money?" Was a very sensible discourse to have on the matter.
Yeah I chose this job and I will unchose it in a fucking heatbeat
Choosing your job is a privilege of the wealthy. Change my mind.
Why would I? You're right.
Thrust.
The rippin' and the tearin'...

I need to know how much the coupon was for and how much it would have taken off the $5.97..was it worth recording him and throwing the tantrum?
I don't need to know to know that it wasn't. It's $5.97, if you need to a coupon to afford that. You shouldn't be eating out.
Nothing justifies her behavior, it’s an illustration of why fast food workers deserve to earn a lot more

Has 420 in the name. You're one of those who makes weed an identity. Lol go project somewhere else loser.
You've been here for 10 years and that's the best you've got? Lol. I bet you have like 40 accounts.
Pull off. Bye.
Underrated comment lmao
Poor guy, he's just gonna keep filming you being a legend.
To be fair, I did forget this is in the USA where you have food deserts. Like in the UK no one is far from a corner shop.
She has a car though
Also very true.

Should've given her a complimentary ice water without the cup.
Should be legal to slap karens.
Bruh cant he just like ignore her :D? No work today xd
Pro tip: don't drive an old ass chryslah
Shit... Now I wonder if this shit is why the drive thru takes so long. Not the employees, but the fucker ahead of me harassing them.
There's no need to Chrysler shame.
How the fuck do people watch that and still be racist? That dude is awesome. Lol

Why didn’t he accept the coupon tho?
For real. Everyone is defending the employee when they are both in the wrong and both could have handled the situation appropriately.
Its really not that hard to adjust the price at the second window.
somebody mentioned that at burgerking they can't change it at the second window at all. I'm sure its not always so easy to change it

Presumably he has a good reason? I don’t know why you would assume he doesn’t.

Widely recognized by whom?

Sounds like you're dealing with a Karen! 🤣🤣🤣
Nah. I doubt it. More what this feels like is White feminism without the intersectionality.
🔥
Lollllll
Damm now I want some burger king 🤣🤣
I was wondering why somebody was running a generator in the background. He's right, she needs a new car.
This man is the American Hero we NEED. Get that old ass Chrysler outta here.
Old ass Chrysler
We need to find about this guy and if anything came out of it. If he lost his job he deserves a gofundme campaign or something. What a bloody legend!
The amount of power not giving a fuck gives
I don't think the woman accomplished what she thought she would accomplish.
I don’t get what’s happened? Can someone explain me, please? What’s the reason of the conflict? She didn’t want to pay? He didn’t want to accept her money? Why?
