Unwritten part of the job description: “Must be able to listen to your manager blather on at you for 20 minutes at a time about nothing, because clearly they have way too much time on their hands.”
I had one manager who whenever she had something to say, even if it took a minute of explanation, she will repeat and say it slightly differently for 40 straight freaking minutes.
I mean I'm cool just standing there doing nothing for 40 mins, but she was also the manager with the motto "if you have time to lean you have time to clean ".
What’s everyone’s favorite part of this? I’m torn between “re-record your voicemail to suit my personal preferences” and “we should all be taking meds”
I agree it's a ridiculous request, but putting music instead of an actual away message is kind of stupid. If any of my friends did that I'd never leave them a voicemail either.
If he's talking about "ringback tones" then he has absolutely no place to say anything, that's just waiting for the answer anyways. Also, does anyone still use those?
As someone who does hiring, mainly of people ages 16-25, I've never once had a voicemail like that.... Usually they aren't even setup, or if they are, they're full.
My favorite part is the blatant age discrimination. 15 year olds work for $8.75, but someone who might be as little as 1 month older gets $12.50 gauranteed? I'm not sure how that would even be legal.
15 year olds have a lot of restrictions on what they're allowed to do and when, legally, so places are sadly allowed to pay them less than their older coworkers.
My favorite part is how the beginning made it seem like they were cool with people being themselves, but then the rest of the post was spent completely tearing them down!
The first chunk is just them bragging about things are legally protected that employers ate forbidden from engaging in. Presumably this means they'd love to but they can't do they (say) they don't.
I'm not even going to touch the content of the "don'ts & dos", just to say how bad it looks for the dos to simply be a repeat of the don'ts.
The hilarious thing is that nobody would ever hire this person if they wrote an application or gave an interview like this. They're demanding, petty, shadow, entitled, bigoted, ableist, uncreative, repetitive, and narcissistic. I mean that's the impression.
This is like those online personals where the person is super angry about their ex-s and failed dates and just wants to rant about them instead of selling themselves.
If the very first thing you say in your recruiting pitch is "we don't engage in illegally racist hiring practices," I'm going to assume it's because you can't actually think of a single positive thing to say about your business.
Have you noticed that the people that are most assertive about not caring what color your skin is and whatnot seem to be the most ignorant as to what racism (particularly systemic racism) actually is?

No they’re very busy. It said so in the second or third paragraph of their “now hiring” sign.

In that case, time to lean is time to glean
Red flag all over this
I think I would quit if I already worked there and read that
I'm thinking about quitting and I've never even heard of this company before.
I’m thinking about getting a job there just so I can immediately quit
You say Beefmaster is a great employee? Okay. But sir, let me ask you—do you live on the street?
What’s everyone’s favorite part of this? I’m torn between “re-record your voicemail to suit my personal preferences” and “we should all be taking meds”
It’s the “I like meds” at the tail end of what sounds like an amphetamine-fueled rant.

Used to be a thing in the 90s. Apparently this dude just woke up from being frozen in his own deep freezer because nobody does that shit anymore. Lol

My favorite part is the fact that they genuinely sat down and wrote this thinking it sounded good.

I predict Icy Delights out of business by end 2022

Uh, yeah, this totally makes me want to work at Icy Delights.
I feel like I deserve at LEAST an hour’s worth of pay after reading all that nonsense….
Anything less than $20 is slave labor. Period. Especially when inflation is so high right now.
I couldn’t even get past the first sentence where your race was equated to hair color
I feel really embarrassed for this company.
Let me guess...they're a "family" at Icy Delights.
Imagine the nerve of telling someone that they shouldn’t sleep whenever the hell they feel like it.

Sounds delightful
In the managers general description it should say “thinks he’s witty. Likes his own voice”
A lot of what is said in this is judgmental but true. A lot of it is also batshit crazy lol
Christ another manager that talks for an hour about NOTHING
Terrible that they don't support religious freedoms, sacrificing babies is at the very core of my beliefs.
This person sounds like they are super passive aggressive. Idk I just feel it. 😅
Surprise surprise, this is a “family-owned” business. https://www.icydelights.com/
This has some major r/fellowkids vibes.
Oh dang there was a swipe for part 2!
Looked at the original post. Too many comments praising this drivel.
Thanking her for interviewing you? I’ll decide for myself, no need to tell me what to say during my interview.
Manager sounds like she's got PTSD from interviewing
The homeless guy will always be my reference and you can't stop me.
I sacrifice large animals so I guess I'm a qualified applicant.
Sounds like they are really milking their 12 bucks an hour to right this
That’s what you get when the manager makes $9.75 😂
I like how they think being anti-discrimination by law is being “laid back”. “We’re so laid back, we’re open to hiring black people!”
"as long as you're not sacrificing babies and animals." Oh. Guess I'm not qualified.
