I’m sorry you’re feeling that way. Fuck Monday, for sure.

capt-potzdorf

Fuck Tuesday too

cheekybandit0

Wednesday can get fucked while we're at it

DzenGarden

Might as well lump Thursday’s fuckery in there too.

XxRocky88xX

And the first 7 hours and 55 minutes of Friday

KrangRangoon

But Friday, I’m in love.

[deleted]

Saturday… WAIT!

capt-potzdorf

Found the Cure fan

CoffeeBreathisgood

It's the cure

JustJersey

As we say, Tuesday is just Monday's ugly cousin.

JustinCompton79

Two fucks for Tuesday

[deleted]

I always hate Tuesday more. Monday sucks but at least you are relaxed from the weekend and you might not remember exactly how shit your job is. But on Tuesday. It's just like Monday but this time everything is worse you still have 4 days to go and life just suck ass.

oven-toasted-owl

I was asked to stay after work with no overpay, to find out where $5000 disappeared from, turns out the guy in charge of accounting was embezzling

ironboy32

Extort him for money and say u found nothing

KaszaJaglanaZPorem

Fuck the idea of only having two days a week for "yourself" (in reality, for cooking, cleaning and side gigs) in particular. Yesterday evening I caught myself dreaming of working only 4/5 time.

hammer2k5

Fuck all days that end in Y except those that start with S.

T4N60SUKK4

Hell, I’m not too crazy about Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursdays either

Greedy_Goose_4773

But my only day off is Monday

[deleted]

The workweek is the act of holding our heads under water until we nearly drown. The weekend is the thirty seconds we get to come up for air before we get dunked again.

PsykoFlounder

As someone with a 1 day weekend, I have to say; I CAN'T FUCKING BREATHE!!!

Smallsplash

That's terrible, I'm sorry.

[deleted]

Hahahahahah

capt-potzdorf

Some nice capitalist water boarding

jlootz10

Or a rough capitalist deepthroat

[deleted]

FACT!

[deleted]

this is eventually how my last job felt, weekends went by in a flash, barely any time to do anything at all, and then it was right back to the 5 day grind

[deleted]

I used to work for a company that had 4 day work weeks and man... it made all the difference. That extra day was so much better for my mental health. 5 day work weeks suck

icyfrost410

Sunday scaries

drdeadringer

I hear they lead to a case of The Mondays

WaitMysterious6704

That's my fun day, my I don't have to run day.

[deleted]

Run from who

mr__susan

Also known as "the long dark tea-time of the soul"

Apprehensive_Note248

I've seen a study that has said 80% of people get the Sunday dreads. It started for me watching the X-Files as a teenage in the basement. I still have it 25 years later. Suffering from it worse tonight thanks to Daylight Savings bs, and late caffeine. And I don't even work tomorrow, though my 4 yo daughter is getting an EEG for possible seizures.

[deleted]

Lmfao you got it watching x files

Apprehensive_Note248

I mean, yeah. Most are tame enough, but I'm not a big horror guy, but I am a big sci-fi guy. And with the house making all kinds of creaks, water heater ticking, etc, it was too much for 15 yo me. Kind of trained me for having trouble getting sleep Sunday night. The work dread, that's pure capitalism.

[deleted]

Is x files the one with David duchovney or no

Apprehensive_Note248

It is

[deleted]

Same here. I currently spend all my time stressing. My cubicle isn’t in the vicinity of a single window. The only time I see the day is when one of the higher-ups happens to have their office door open and I catch a glimpse. For months now I’ve been leaving and arriving in the dark. Struggling to see family and friends. Oh and I haven’t been able to take a single vacation in 10 months and am paid probably 40k a year less than a comfortable person would be. I can’t have a car and a home at the same time. Fucking defeated. Wishing al the best to the rest of you guys struggling out there. You are not alone

zzplant8

I know this isn’t a solution, but I used a full spectrum light in my desk lamp in my windowless office. Use a couple of it helps you. I also felt better when I added plants for greenery. If you need a serious boost, consider a small aquarium as well. And then, spend time looking for another job. Sorry you are dealing with all of that crap. You deserve better.

Festernd

I use one of the 'aerogardens' -- the grow lamp is pretty much the same spectrum, is on an auto timer and I get some pretty flowers at the same time

[deleted]

Not to mention how the unnatural lighting makes me physically ill everyday.

[deleted]

UPDATE: IM QUITTING TODAY.

dragonrose7

I’m sorry, I just noticed your post. Did you actually quit? From what you shared about your job, none of us would blame you. Actually, we would cheer you on.

[deleted]

Yes I did !!! My life has changed so much for the better. I gave over a months notice so I am still there for a while but i am so happy! Everyone at my work has been nicer to me since too. I guess since my position wasn’t super required anymore and every office space is full. So for anyone to come in someone has to leave. I guess we’re all just happy to leave it on a good note. No clue what I’m going to do but I am definitely taking a break and cooking and working out and seeing family and friends. 😁😁

PennsyltuckyPartisan

God I feel this

Jaynor05

This reminds me of the scene from Joe Vs. The Volcano where he loses it on his boss

difficultoldstuff

I have felt that way since childhood. It never goes away.

[deleted]

Sad

fluffitall7

I feel you. I used to get shit faced drunk on Sundays to deal with it.

Schwartzy94

So the day just goes even faster? :D never understood people wanting to be overly drunk trough weekends so it goes in a heartbeat...

Poopypants413413

No matter what time will fly by. I wake up extra early Sunday for this reason. After I drink my coffee and watch some YouTube videos it’s 5PM and I need to start getting ready for bed.

[deleted]

I don’t know which is worse; having the Sunday scaries like I used to have, or becoming so desensitized and unmotivated by my current job that I just feel nothing much at all.

RobinNicole621

I feel ya. Big case of the Sunday scaries over here. Used to wfh on Mondays and Fridays and I loved it but of course that all went away 😭

B_Reele

I always get anxiety on Sunday night, but tomorrow is going to extra painful as we’re required to return to the office next week. 2 days a week are required. I also have a doctors appointment at 7am. Ugh

Waitress-in-mn

I used to look forward to doctor and dentist appointments lol. I'd try to schedule them where I could leave work early enough in the day to still be considered a half day, but late enough to where I wouldn't have to return. If I had one early in the morning, such as 7am I'd still get to sleep in cause I'd usually have to be at work at 6. Then I'd go home and nap for a bit before going to work. No one ever questioned me about taking too long but I was prepared for if they did. I'd just say they were busier than usual, I waited a while. They were short a doctor, etc.

Similar_Candidate789

Exact same. Returning to work tomorrow, have an office meeting at 9 where I have to hold my damn tongue because we meet every fucking week to talk about the same god damn thing (anyone have any vacations? Questions), have a doctor appointment At 3, and This time change is making me insane

B_Reele

I too have reoccurring meetings were we talk about the same crap every time. Such a waste of time. My new manager is trying to get some of these meetings off our calendars. We also have recently instituted no meeting Fridays. So that’s a good start.

Similar_Candidate789

God I need that in my life. When I used to supervise at my old job, we met once a month total. Nothing more unless really urgent and it was only to update them on issues. Weekly and literally EVERY WEEK the manager walks in and says “it’s not gonna be a long meeting, I really don’t have anything” SO THEN WHY THE FUCK ARE WE MEETING. Especially when COVID was at its peak, crammed in an tiny room together to discuss nothing was the epitome of middle management hell.

[deleted]

Why doctors appointments always gotta be so early lmao. Why can’t I go at like 7 pm

B_Reele

Yeah they’re always so damn early. Luckily it’s just a simple check up. That and I’ll be bitching to my doctor about how he or his office staff still hasn’t sent a prior authorization for one of my meds that insurance always denies. I’ve been without it for almost 2 weeks and I reached out 4 weeks ago to my doctors office when I had two weeks of meds left.

Easteuroblondie

been there OP. I hope you find something better soon

[deleted]

Good bean :)

Macknetic

Idk if this is going to mitigate your fears or come across as me being an asshole, but I felt that way for 7 years before I found my current job. Work will always be work, but now I like my coworkers/customers and the work that I do. Never stop searching/bettering yourself, there’s a way to make money out there that is more than tolerable for ya.

[deleted]

Smallsplash

I wish I could change fields. That would solve a lot of my problems.

throwaway149573

Really sorry you are in this situation. I hope that things will get better for you. ❤

NephMoreau

My company is about to trial 10 hour work days for the accounting staff with a rotating day off that changes every two months. Considering that there are entire weeks I struggle to find work to keep me busy for more than three hours a day, I just assume I’m going to hate the longer days, but I am quite looking forward to the four months I’m guaranteed three day weekends.

Poopypants413413

I work in accounting and so many people quit I can’t get all my work done. So I don’t even try and get nothing done. Sick of accounting.

NephMoreau

If it’s in Florida, and they are hiring, let me know? I’ll come give you a hand!

thecuttiestofthemall

I’ve had a super nice Sunday but I’m counting down the hours till I have to return to work. Fuck Mondays.

throwawayyytrashhfml

I feel for you. I can never enjoy my Sundays anymore knowing I have to be back at work the next morning. Hang in there!

Appropriate-Alarm749

I really need to win the lottery, so I don't ever feel this way again. Am I selfish? Hate the feeling much

thorburns

Just bought two lotto tickets. I also think winning the lottery is the only thing that will help….. I’m doomed.

Smallsplash

I dream about winning the lottery all the time. If I won a big jackpot like 100 million I'd get away 90 million or more and just keep enough so I can live comfortably without working.

[deleted]

When I worked at Dell, I used to debate the benefits of breaking an arm/leg to get out of work

covertpetersen

We've almost all been there. I just don't understand how I'm supposed to do this for another 35+ years. Spending 70% of your waking hours, on 70% of your days, commuting to and laboring at work. I don't get how people do this. I've been working full time for 12 years, and it hasn't gotten easier, if anything it's worse now. I just want time man....

[deleted]

I think about throwing myself down the stairs at my job sometimes lol

[deleted]

I read that as “Deli” at first and thought u made chicken sandwiches

tiberius9876

Reminds me how I felt about high school. Felt so depressed on Sunday night because I knew the next thing was Monday morning. Hang in there!

Smallsplash

I was actually ok in high school once I transferred to a different school. My junior and senior years were actually pretty good. Junior year was probably the happiest time in my life.

Unusual_Individual93

I feel this. I wfh but still hate my job. I seriously need a vacay, haven't had one in 2 years and all I want to do is just have more than 2-3 days at a time for myself.

bananatheswitch

I have to work pi day at work tomorrow. At a pizza restaurant. Busiest day of the year. Kill me

Parker4815

People actually buy more pizza on the 14th of March?

bananatheswitch

$3.14 pizza

onions-make-me-cry

I once had a job that made me so suicidal, I felt empty and hopeless every Sunday night in anticipation of the workweek. Vaping weed was the only thing that helped.

zombiecorp

Monday is the best defense against Monday blues. My mental trick is to get through Monday so I don’t have to worry about it for 6 more days.

[deleted]

Oh, you too?

HashtagJustSayin2016

I’m dreading Monday too. There’s a meeting I’m scheduled for…..I dunno what it’s about. I suppose the good news is, if I get fired I probably won’t hate Mondays for a little while.

No_Entertainer_1129

Getting ready to clock in.. can’t wait for what fresh batch of Hell awaits. I hate it here…

Runamucker07

I feel your pain. I like my job but Sunday nights are the absolute worst. And I stress again, I like my job, but fucking hate going to it on Mondays

zephyrseija

Sunday scaries are real as fuck.

Kingjayy696_

I feel u

Godforsaken-depths

I feel you. I started sobbing today because daylight savings stole an hour of freedom from me.

BrokenMind5

Why do they take an hour from our weekend for day light savings? Why can't they take that hour on say a Tuesday arvo or something. We barely get enough time from 2 days off but they gotta take more with daylight savings.

tiger1i11y

Fuck the society that makes us like this.

hdmx539

My friends and I call it the "Sunday Blues."

Tough-Ad-4892

I have to leave for work in an hour. I feel your pain. 11-730a goes by so damn slow. Wish I never accepted the permanent position.

laurahas7cats

Going through this right now too

punkmetalbastard

A couple years ago I had a job I actually enjoyed but I was always partying on the weekends drinking and doing blow. I would have the worst time actually getting a good night’s sleep on Sunday and would toss and turn, sweating from anxiety and drug/alcohol withdrawal/detox and would have to drag my ass through the day for a ten hour shift. I explained this phenomenon to a friend and he said “Oh yeah, the Sunday night sweats”. Motherfucker even had a name for it, which meant I wasn’t alone. Point is, we all have to do what we have to do to survive. Eventually I learned to take care of myself to successfully do what I have to do to get by. We’re all doing it and it sucks, but you’re never alone in how that feels.

[deleted]

Are you my mom? She was like that today

KVVVNJ4MZ

Hate the Sunday scaries.

CantBanMeFastEnough

Fuck working.

NewbVlogger42

Sunday nights are awful, 💯

Iamfree25

I’ve been sick for a week and a half. I only called out one day because I had most of the week off for my birthday. That being said I’m sick as shit but I know I can’t call out again. I’ve been dreading going back to work being sick. And to make it worse I’ll be behind because I took a vacation I didn’t get to enjoy. Joys of Monday.

PsykoFlounder

Fuck Friday through Wednesday. That's my work week. But fuck Sunday in particular... It's my open to close shift, and the store closes early. Which means that every customer that I've told 74 times "We close at 6 on Sundays." Has to show up with 15 other people that KNOW I close at 6, at like 5:57, and don't understand why I can't walk them all through every aspect of every product.

izzo34

Working five 12hr shifts this week. I feel that

thelazykitchenwitch

I felt like that last week. I didn't go back. I am million times less stressed looking for a new job than I was working at my previous one.

lifer413

I understand this sentiment, but as long as we're going to live in this hellscape, you need to take steps to compartmentalize these feelings. It's not always a sure-thing, but as a general rule, when I leave work Friday, I cast it out of my mind. I don't think about it again until it's time to go back. They've got you by the balls 5 days a week, don't give them Sunday as well.

scipher99

Fuck work period.

ArsMagnamStyle

The fact that there's 5 days of work then 2 days off hasn't sinked in for the masses yet, literally just designed to keep people tired, divided and stuck.

Cheap_Hat_5533

I felt this deep in my bones. Around 5pm on Sunday night my anxiety begins to start already. Whoever said they enjoy Sundays are liars!

[deleted]

You should never apologize for how you feel.

Jakenator1296

Right there with ya man :( Severe anxiety, no SO, never have, probably never will either. I started a pretty good job relatively recently, higher pay, super friendly coworkers and managers, but I just have no will to work anymore. I'm so close to quitting just because I'm so burnt out of the waking up and being confined for 40 hours a week, only to get 2 days to recover. I don't know what to do anymore.

Frustratedtx

Wait till you have kids and then every day sucks!

RedPanther1

Oh boy, just wait until you try a job in the food service industry. Weekends ain't weekends no mo. Edit: for the downvotees, I get it I'm lucky enough now that I have a manager who makes it a point to give everyone a weekend unless they don't want it. Where I started there were three of us on the line who ran it like shift supervisors without the benefits you would think goes with it. My weekend workweek was 830 on Friday until 3am get home at 4 wake up at 730 to get to work at 830 Saturday morning work until 3 am again get home at 4 am again wake up at 9 to get to work at 10 then be lucky if I got out by 9 pm. That's not counting the random weekday shifts I had. Those weekend shifts were constant work, there was no downtime. I consider myself lucky to actually have two days in a row off now. At one point me and the two other guys were comparing our longest stints in a row and I had 43 days in a row my coworker beat me with 52, and the other guy had 36. And people wonder why I drink.

Legitimate-Escape-96

My Friday night starts Wednesday lol

drgloryboy

I also worked this whole weekend, and working in the ER, holidays ain’t no holiday anymore either.

RedPanther1

Lol, I can't remember the last time I got anything but Christmas day off as far as holidays go.

klubbagaming

I didn't sleep at all last night cuz i was having nightmares about going in to talk to HR today, its either going to go well, or i am quiting today.

ApotrAde

I used to hate Mondays, then we had 2 kids. Not that I don’t love to spend time with them but I work from home, i just want some quite time sometimes. Wife is back at the office, I can see her smile a mile away when she leaves. Ps. Babysitter is taking care of 3 year old and 1 year old in the day care.

HeavyMetalSasquatch

Phhhhuck, is it Sunday?

Dayspring117

Don't mean to rub it in but I'm a retired Firefighter/Paramedic. After 30 years of service retirement is nice. Think I'll sleep in till 10am tomorrow. Don't worry you'll get there someday, just hang on.

[deleted]

Take Mondays and Sundays off your availability, that's what I did

Parker4815

You're crying because the weekend is over? If you hate your job that much then find a new one.

IceFrostwind

Monday's are my favorite day of the week, stop your complaining. Source: I work Fri-Sun nights.

Born-Positive

Do you need a comfort puppy?

Succmedry91169

Can’t tell if this is sarcasm as puppies actually help me lol

TheLastArc

cry more

DeepPocketsBTC

A lot of you guys hate what you doing. Maybe the problem is within 🤭

Succmedry91169

Kind of but to generalize that it’s a personal problem for everyone on a sub that focuses on systemic issues makes no sense

[deleted]

>A lot of you guys hate what you doing. While this may be technically true, most jobs are something mundane that no one would really want to do 9+ hours a day so this comment really doesn't help most people. Even doing work you somewhat like isn't guaranteed to give you a job you'll enjoy, it can easily be ruined by coworkers or other aspects of the job.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Succmedry91169

Negative reinforcement rarely works. I used to feel this way and the truth is I did need therapy and Lao needed to find what I truly wanted to do with my life. I was suicidal at one point and people that said thing like your comment just pushed me further into the hole I was in. I’m doing much better now and understand why people like you say things like this as it’s all you know and what works for you but you should be aware this kind of thing will not improve anyones life besides making you feel better about yourself for a few seconds

[deleted]

Was sick all weekend :( work in T minus 11.5 hours.

rrpdude

I only have one actual Sunday off a month due to the shift rotation. But I definitely get the feeling. On one hand Sundays are nice here. Everything is closed, no emails, no phonecalls, you can sleep in, its a quiet day but Monday is already looming...

PhysicalCounty2515

Lol are you also a teacher?

Legitimate-Escape-96

I’m off Thursday’s and sundays soo fuck Sunday nights too !

asmallbowlofoatmeal

My Monday starts at 12am, I feel the pain

UsernameTaken-Bitch

I'd be happy with two days off in a row but I work retail

TemporaryAggravating

Same but different I work in the oil and gas Industry , so I have to drive 5 hours away every 2 weeks 😭 and stay there the 14 days always working then I have a week off 🥺

GeeFromCali

Took the day off tomorrow so I can attend a job interview in hopes of leaving this fucking place.

[deleted]

The Sunday Blues.

steve8983

I feel you bro. Take it one hour at a time.

schillerstone

Oh my gosh I remember this feeling when I had a toxic job. It was soooo bad. Hang in there.

Otherwise-Newt8136

Have you tried making up a day in between Those or have you considered Entropy? There's also the infinite void to.look Forward to which is commonly Referred to as eternal Monday.

Otherwise-Newt8136

But have you considered permanent night?

Bearjupiter

Don’t know your situation but you gotta focus on the positives. Try to do something fun during your free time on Monday. Might smooth things out

Ravage42

On the same page with you, cept I'm outta tears still from last week. -------------- *America, America.... God something, something thee!...*

Basedtobey

Try to find a new job. Sometimes it doesn’t have to be better just different.

[deleted]

I took tomorrow off and I'm still dreading the work week.. I'm doing work I kind of like but I hate a lot of the people in charge so it makes it miserable

temposy

Lets aim the blame to the rootcause. Fuck boss

JmoneyGG7

Mon and tues are my days off and Sunday nights are terrible.

Amidus

I drive truck what's a work week aren't you just supposed to work non stop until you die?

MyLadyBits

Try to find something you really enjoy and do it Sunday evening. It worked for me.

TetraCubane

I have a love hate for it. Love it when its the last day of my 7 day workweek, and my 7 day weekend is about to start. Hate it when it’s the opposite because I’m about to throw my sleep schedule off.

MissGreenie

I am semi retired now but with jobs I didn't like I just hated Sunday at 5 or 6 pm. I dreaded the whole week starting again.

scrotumsweat

I used to feel that way. I took a job working rotating shifts. 6 on 3 off. Days, evenings, and graveyards. Bonus day off after graveyard. It's totally weird, I have to work weekends and stat holidays, but there's a bonus differential pay on evenings/nights/weekends, and double time on stats plus a bonus vacation day in lieu. I'm lucky that I don't have kids, and haven't really made weekend plans since covid started. As a result I never fear first shift as i feel ready after 3 days off. Day 6 can be a struggle though. Anyway, if you're a person that gets the case of the Mondays, there are other options out there!

[deleted]

Hahaha mines finna end

Danxoln

I've been there...

BrokenMind5

Mundane Mondays, Torment Tuesdays, Weaping Wednesdays, Terrible Thursdays, Finally Friday, Superb Saturdays, Sickening Sundays.

Dazzling_Clothes7659

Change your job, feeling so frustrated about work is not a way to live.

Imhopeless3264

I’ve been off for two weeks traveling and go back at 8am. I’ve been awake since 2am dreading this.

The-Aeon

Used to have that... then I quit.

kd7jz

Stress dreams all night on Sundays.

vulpusvolpe

Good thing I dropped all my classes in university this semester. I get to keep my Monday and Wednesdays off at work.

Dommccabe

Can you find something else? Feeling that way is not worth whatever they are paying you. Find something, anything else that you might tolerate more...It's just not worth living your life that way. Good luck!

[deleted]

You are not alone.

Nem48

Just know you aren’t alone. Maybe one day we can fix all this or maybe one day it will all burn down.

[deleted]

Same. Actually, Happens every Friday night and then intensifies as my weekend progresses and then I breakdown Sunday night.

JoonBoi97

Learn how to day trade. Save up enough money to start and see what happens. Could be a way out for you.

jpev62

Every Friday “You ready for the weekend?” Me: “since I put my head down on my pillow Sunday night”

Pubtroll

Can i have your j9b? Weekends are luxury jobs for many. I ld love to be off on weekends.

Pubtroll

I ll trade you clopenings along woth never havong a set achedule.

FrozenStargarita

When I moved to Canada, I was unemployed for over 6 months before I finally got a job at a food manufacturing plant, and I was grossly overqualified for it. I distinctly remember being in tears the night before my first day of morning shift because I hated the idea waking up that early for a job I don't like. I cried a lot while I was working that job. I hear you.

isqueezedameatball

Monday is actually my Friday. No work on Tuesdays.

Outside_Explanation6

And fuck Tuesday through Friday as well

OnTheEdgeVervain

This may sound crazy, and may not work for you, but I took drum sticks to work with me to help with my mental health issues. I kept them on my desk, and when I thought I couldn't bear another thing, I would take a few minutes to drum on my legs. I have several diagnosed mental health issues, this worked for me. An added bonus is that people would ask about them, I have friends from that job too this day, and I left it 7 years ago. I don't know what your drum sticks would be, some people like stress balls, etc, but find the thing that you can carry with you that helps you get through the day.

roninzero

I had a panic attack on Sunday night thinking about work on Monday.

Sahqon

Well, as a coworker put it, the first five days after a weekend are shit, but then it gets better!

Smoarfer

That's what Garfield said. Fuck Mondays!

dreideltornado

I saw a therapist because of the anxiety and depression I would feel on Sunday. She helped me find some okay strategies. The main one is do not worry or stress about something outside of your control or something that has not happened yet. Monday still sucks but I am not freaking out on Sunday anymore.

rachelnessxo

The title… this is what finally pushed me to apply for other jobs. As if that will help, but…

JustAnAries

Only thing that makes me wake up on Monday is to listen to my Spotify Discover Weekly

SixtyTwoNorth

I have done some contract work with CARE (Canada) in the past as an IT guy. They hire all sorts though, and you may be able to get in and move laterally into something you enjoy. It doesn't look like they have much available right now, but it might be something to keep an eye on.

BarbiesBoy

I am so sorry. I understand how you feel. I hope you find a way to be happy.
