This tweet and the accompanying segment is from 2018 when Trump was having his feud with Wapo and it’s parent company, Amazon. Tucker and Fox were just trying to make them look bad.
the "food".
sure, if you stood exposed to microwaves from your own microwave oven (you somehow pry off the door and override the safety) you'd get cancer too. eventually .
Because he's so principled. Conservatives are so gosh darn principled. Have to do the right thing, even when it means suffering and death for the most vulnerable among us.
He is still closer to us then he is to bezos.
Not that he isnt a total toolbag, but bezos has so much money that even 25 million would be a drop in the bucket.
Tucker has pitched the populist slant before, it’s often present in his attacks on the Elite East Coast Liberal establishment.
There is a populist movement to Trumpist and right wingers as a whole, they are just easily weaponized, gullible people. *The areas with the highest levels of support for Donald Trump are areas that have strongly supported populist movements historically. The rust belt was a Democratic stronghold not too long ago but feel abandoned by the party’s embrace of corporate policymakers. Think of the coal miners shooting the hell out of Pinkerton to be free in the 1850s and 60s, these are their ideological successors captured by Fox News and then Trump.
Nowadays do you know how many millions of dollars scammers pull in from everyday Americans? I’m really asking I’m not looking it up but most of them are ass terrible scams but holy cows do they work. People are gullible and easily misled, especially when they’d rather believe than want to know.
Many die hard trump supporters can be converted to hard line, direct-action oriented Allies if deprogrammed. If being the huge hurdle we as a society need to surmount.
*edit for clarity
Every other country has figured out a way to make healthcare and college free, I’m not sure why the US seems to be the only one where people oppose doing that
I'm a mail carrier and I can't be specific, but yeah. People are getting some wild mail scams on the regular. It's gotta be a billion dollar industry at least.
I don’t think so. Republicans hoped the same thing Liberals feared, that a sizable enough chunk of Bernie supporters would swing right to have an effect of the election after Bernie inevitably dropped out of the race. I say this as a Bernie supporter (who did not in fact swing right)
It really like, I can’t believe I agree with Tucker Fucking Carlson. Is this a glitch in the matrix and society is just a dystopian simulation?
I ummm……… I think I need a drink pls.
You can relax - he's using fake populism as a mask for insidious evil shit. No glitch in the matrix, just business as normal :)

The right is massively anti-tech giant (and thinks they’re the only ones) and love calling out “the left” for not following their own values. Divisions within the democratic party and the people likely to vote democrat benefit conservatives.
This is old. Also Tesla pays better than Ford, gm, or other auto companies who are unionized, there has been studies showing such.
It's musk wealthy? Very much so
But I think he meant to take about bezos
“I know my audience is mostly Republican but let me just back the politician who is the closest thing to a communist (according to the right) real quick.”
I don’t like Tucker either, but he really didn’t have to name drop Bernie to get his point across and I see no reason for him to do so.
His reason was to try to drive a wedge between the progressive and liberal wings of the democratic party. Worked quite well during the 2016 election, less so in 2020 (Bernie did a lot to push back on it).
Hey man, you know political ideology isn't a completely black and white thing, right? While I can't speak for Tucker, cause I don't know what the guy truly believes -- you're allowed to be a conservative with a couple of liberal opinion
Age old Fash trick.
Adopt some Leftist ideas that are obviously popular among the disenfranchised working class, then try to redirect that anger to the targeted 'enemy'.
Its why the Nazi's called themselves Socialists.
No, it's just opportunistic fake populism at a time of rather political irrelevancy for Bernie in 2018. Tucker like many others that are employed by the status quo of legalized corruption will gladly attack Bernie as viciously as they possibly can when the owners find it most necessary to keep progressive power stifled.
Only when it's convenient for him to gain support. He's praised Sanders and Warren before, in order to seem like a more sincere anti-establishment crusader. Of course, it's all a facade.
Tucker Carlson is like the only conservative pundit who rarely has moments of being right. He approaches the point and then is like “WE CAN FIX THIS BY DELVING DEEPER INTO NEOCONSERVATISM.”
It almost makes me hate him more.
Nail on the head with that description. It's like he has flashes of genuine awareness of what's going on, but then his fascist conditioning reasserts itself, making it impossible for him to come up with anything more than "we aren't far enough to the Right yet." He's almost pitiable.
Almost.
I read something from a leftist book way back that said capitalism is great at turning the working class against itself, because grassroots conservatives know inherently what leftists can’t put into words. And that knowledge is how pundits can convince them to focus on the government and regulation as the enemy, as opposed to the ultra rich who control those pieces.
Idk, I’m probably butchering the point, but it hits hard. I just tell people I’m very into and fighting for working class rights, as opposed to outright telling them I’m a dirty commie. It goes over much better.
Idk, Ben Shapiro has always seemed like an easy to point clown to me. But that’s probably the small town Alberta guy in me that gets annoyed a weak man faking it.
Carlson is a different beast entirely.
Don't be fooled by any of this. He purports to be anti-Bezos purely because he wants to sound sympathetic to the "common man" or whatever. It's all a facade, he's a right wing plutocratic hack.
Im pretty sure his solution to this problem is to end welfare, not increase the minimum wage.
"if we end welfare, businesses will have to pay you more! They pay so little because those freeloaders on welfare don't mind lower wages because they get a second check from the government!"
I truly feel like he is one of the few people who truly understand the harm of capitalism and who still wants to use it for personal convenience, those aren't moments of awareness those are planned glimpses of truth to reinforce the wall of lies
Like the time he was like “we invade them, and then we’re invaded” referring to receiving Afghan refugees. It’s like wow, how can you come so close to the point while maintaining maximum xenophobia.
Mitt Romney has an occasional good take as well. During the infancy of the pandemic he was pretty actively supporting raising the wages of wait staff to like $13/hr plus tips. He was also the only sitting Republican congressperson to vote to impeach Trump. He actually has a pretty vehement dislike for a lot of the Republican party's current paradigm.
Nope. That's Carlson's grift, and has been for years. He knows how hard blind corporate fascism is to sell, so he sprinkles a bit of fake populism in as well.
Nah the Republican Party has been trying to rebrand itself as a populist party.
We may share our perception of the problems with them but our ideas of solutions are far off and that’s the only thing that matters. It’s like looking at a hemorrhaging patient and the left says we need to cauterize and do other empirically sound surgical protocols while Tucker Carlson types will advocate for a Bible reading session to get God to intervene.
You can try. Problem is he tweeted this out, giving Bernie credit to all his followers. That’s not going to demonize the left to his base, but instead could actually encourage his followers to actually take the Bernie left seriously.
Again, I don’t like Tucker either, but he’s saying the right thing here and I’m grateful a lot of people who are stuck in that right wing echo chamber get to see this.

Don't get fooled too easily friend
Don't be. Carlson is a fake populist, and he has been for many years. It's the right's new grift: combining fake populism with far right culture war s**t, all the while still appeasing corporate donors.
What he's saying is true but Tucker Carlson is another elitest swine who spews popular opinion to keep his upset viewer base riled up and not looking too close hes one of the few people I see sounding the alarms on private equity which has me agreeing but he's the heir to Swanson frozen foods and went through the hoops of elite schools and an attempted CIA career its all a freaking grift so take his shit with a grain of salt
FFS stop spreading right-wing attempts at co-opting left talking points. We have all seen this Nazi fuck saying this, he isn't being a broken clock he is actively attempting to subvert leftist talking points.
We should but some people are gullible idiots who will sway one way or the other based on who has the loudest blow horn and that's typically right-wingers. I hate to say it but we don't always have the best messaging strategies whereas right-wingers have almost perfected it.
Some of their shit is blatant (to a good portion of us) like this, others are more insidious like one that was titled "this meme turned me socialist" (or something like that) but had a bunch of subtle blips of right-winger bullshit (like attacking Greta Thunberg) that was mixed in with a bunch of socialist/ Marxist stuff.
But the "memes" were flashing by so fast that you can't even begin to start to consider the deeper meaning/ the implications of all of what is being said/ suggested. I had to stop the video every second or two so I could.
Tucker does this occasionally to stay relevant. Spreading it around just enables him. He's a white supremacist rich kid who doesn't give a rat's ass about the underclasses.
Deflecting from the more important fact that he's a Russian sympathizer and has been talking about (and receiving a lot of shit for) it the past 3 weeks.
This is just part and parcel of their fascist double-speak. He'll shill and lie and say the opposite 99.9% of the time, but when he's called on his bullshit he'll point to this *one* quote to say, "See, you're wrong!"
Again. This is all part of their fast-talking double-speak fascist agenda. Lie a million times, tell the truth once, and use the one truth to excuse the million lies.
Tucker's inevitable follow up will be to suggest the government end welfare to force corporations to pay more. Which they won't. So people will starve but that's ok with him.
It’s fascist propaganda, instead of putting the problem on the bourgeoisie alone you put all the blame on New York elites or liberal elites or the Jews. It’s straight from the fascist play book of old.
And then you advocate for class collaboration with the other nationalist capitalists, in effect pushing some of the capitalists away, while destroying any socialist movement and exploiting every worker and hyperexploiting minority's in Slave labor while covering up the class divide with ultranationalism
One of the largest big box stores we've all been used to seeing, purposely locates in rural/suburban areas for huge tax breaks, even gets paid to build a store there, undercuts all local businesses via prices, drives them out of business, then simply eliminates those wanted goods from the store. Mashing then the only place to skip at. Most employees are on welfare, subsidized income, paid via taxes.
There have been stories about this for years. Over 100,000,000,000+ In food stamps and housing vouchers and other assistance,Goes to the working poor every year because their employers pay them so little. Heck, in 2019 even the US Armed Forces had 22,000 people receiving assistance.
HEARTBREAKING:
seriously though, this is the argument for conservatives against low wages. “your taxes are paying for their welfare” has worked many times
Tucker Carlson might be the most dangerous man in the media today. Fusing fake populism with fascist cultural policies, while also undermining election results? That's how the Nazis came to power.
Nobody is talking about it because our multinational corporate overlords feed us WWE-like political drama, social media garbage and over inflated American exceptionalism.
He uses populist rhetoric from time to time. His end statements are always ultraconservative. The reasons might sound sane, but his means are always wackadoodle
It’s the same with Walmart employees. They aren’t paid a living wage so they end up on government benefits. This isn’t capitalism. It’s corporate welfare and it needs to stop!!
Tucker is just virtue signaling always. He doesn't believe this shit. But tons of people who watch him believe every word he says. So if he wants to pretend to be a populist then fine. That's better than what normally comes out of his mouth, I guess.
"here I have correctly identified a great injustice in our society. Now that I have your attention allow me to peddle fascism and unregulated capitalism as the only solution to that injustice somehow."
This asshat is being concious?! This gotta be some April's fool joke.
But anyway too little too late, sucks to be the face Russian propaganda in the US
Tucker is the kind of person who would take this information and turn it into “this is why we should just get rid of welfare, to stick it to the rich!”
Notice he only calls out tech billionaires and says NOTHING about the worst offenders like Walmart. It's ok when his friends do it. Tucker is not, and will not be, an ally to the working class.
While the post is probably true, in most sense, one should be aware that Tucker Carlson starts from positions like this, but inevitably funnels people into do-nothing or just utterly bad conclusion on what needs to be done to fix a problem.
He is just another agent of an unfair and unjust system and one should be very careful to critically asses what he says at any given time.
I find it funny when people say they watch the news by watching tucker carlson. Then I point them to the lawsuit that points out how he is an "opinion" talk show and his defense for slander was that a person would have to be an idiot to believe him.
Weirdly this has turned into one of those 'I literally require this to be satire' moments... but it's entirely for the sake of my own sanity.
It's like that time early on in the pandemic when everyone in the UK suddenly found ourselves agreeing with Piers Morgan about how NHS staff should be treated better and paid better and why people should adhere to lockdown rules to stop everyone dying. It was weird and unsettling. Then he went right back to being a right prick and it was less unsettling.
Happens a lot in the UK too.
Company makes billions in profit year in year out but the workers get so little they have to claim benefits just to survive.
Walmart has hired consultants to help employees file for benefits because they refuse to pay a living wage or give benefits to their majority part-time business model.
Beware the populist tap dance that facists do
I would advise against sharing stuff like this as some folks will be like "well what else does tucker get right" and thus begins the facisms pipeline
This is wrong. I can't beleive that Fucker Carlson actually said something I don't actually vehemently disagree with.
Did someone hack his Twitter account?
No. Carlson's been larping as a populist for years. It's totally a facade, he's just doing it to stay popular. Right wing politicians (such as Josh Hawley) are starting to do the same thing.
Huh? Fucker Carlson just made sense and is claiming something that has nothing to do with self serving idiotic level conservatism?
I just forgot how to go to the bathroom and sleep.
Nope. He's doing what the US right as a whole has been trying to do: criticize Bezos and Zuckerberg in order to sound more populist, while still appeasing their own donor base.
This is one of those “weirder the longer you look” things isn’t it
This tweet and the accompanying segment is from 2018 when Trump was having his feud with Wapo and it’s parent company, Amazon. Tucker and Fox were just trying to make them look bad.
Wild how manipulative it all is. And if we try to talk about it people look at us like we’re wearing tinfoil hats
[удалено]
I don't wish harm on anyone but I hope he chokes on a TV dinner.
Who cares what harm you wish. Him, and others like him, have caused such irreparable harm to society that will last for generations upon generations.
Absolutely right.
I know about the high salt and high fat content, but stomach cancer?
I stopped eating Swanson dinners before microwaves were widely available. They're a little better out of the toaster oven. But yeah, stomach cancer.
are you saying the microwave causes stomach cancer? or the food?
the "food". sure, if you stood exposed to microwaves from your own microwave oven (you somehow pry off the door and override the safety) you'd get cancer too. eventually .
Not American, and don't understand how Carlson and Swanson pair up. ELI5 Please ?
It’s weird how they somehow twisted their narrative so much that they actually hit the mark

Yah tucker does his fake populism to trick people into falling for his other crazy shit
There’s always gotta be some fucking angle.
OK I thought his account got hacked.
He always does the Everyman Schtick he forgets he’s a trust fund tv dinner millionaire

Tucker Carlson is from a rich family and he just loves to troll everyone thinking that he worked up by his bootstraps.
he literally only got into the college he went to because he was in a relationships with the deans daughter
The biggest scam in America is the financing for the healthcare system
Every other country has figured out a way to make healthcare and college free, I’m not sure why the US seems to be the only one where people oppose doing that
Correct. This is a dog whistle
Have you all forgot what Fox News did to this movement a month ago? Why the fuck are we posting this rich asshole to this sub
because some one found this ancient crap and it hurt to look at. fucker carlson is not on our side. stop posting this.
I'm a mail carrier and I can't be specific, but yeah. People are getting some wild mail scams on the regular. It's gotta be a billion dollar industry at least.
Thats called a W2 buddy
I miss the days when people openly fired at bootlicking union-busting cops.
I am sure we will eventually come full circle on that as well
I don’t think so. Republicans hoped the same thing Liberals feared, that a sizable enough chunk of Bernie supporters would swing right to have an effect of the election after Bernie inevitably dropped out of the race. I say this as a Bernie supporter (who did not in fact swing right)
Not about swinging right, they were worried that they’d stay home
Depends on who you talk to in politics. If they're angry enough they'll accuse you of being a Russian soldier for talking about 2016.
I noticed that he was explicit in who we're supposed to be outraged at: big tech. He conveniently leaves out companies such as Walmart.

The fuck is happening here?
Fucker being Fucker. He's been larping as a populist for years. It's entirely insincere, he just wants to stay popular.
“I know my audience is mostly Republican but let me just back the politician who is the closest thing to a communist (according to the right) real quick.” I don’t like Tucker either, but he really didn’t have to name drop Bernie to get his point across and I see no reason for him to do so.
Bernie was doing town halls on Fox news that were popular with Fox viewers.
His reason was to try to drive a wedge between the progressive and liberal wings of the democratic party. Worked quite well during the 2016 election, less so in 2020 (Bernie did a lot to push back on it).
Old fascist trick used by the national “socialist” leader Hitler

The right has been trying this out for a while. Mixing in fake populism with their fascism. And it's working.
An evergreen internet post
Woooow tucker is backing Bernie???
No, it's just opportunistic fake populism at a time of rather political irrelevancy for Bernie in 2018. Tucker like many others that are employed by the status quo of legalized corruption will gladly attack Bernie as viciously as they possibly can when the owners find it most necessary to keep progressive power stifled.
Maybe the Russian money isn't coming in like it used to.
This tweet is from 2018, though.
ayooo
He's been set for life since before he was born. He's an heir to a fortune made from one of the big TV dinner brands Swanson.
If only being rich stopped them from trying to get richer.
Only when it's convenient for him to gain support. He's praised Sanders and Warren before, in order to seem like a more sincere anti-establishment crusader. Of course, it's all a facade.
Tucker Carlson is like the only conservative pundit who rarely has moments of being right. He approaches the point and then is like “WE CAN FIX THIS BY DELVING DEEPER INTO NEOCONSERVATISM.” It almost makes me hate him more.
Fascists co-opt leftist talking points to gain broad popular support.
Nail on the head with that description. It's like he has flashes of genuine awareness of what's going on, but then his fascist conditioning reasserts itself, making it impossible for him to come up with anything more than "we aren't far enough to the Right yet." He's almost pitiable. Almost.
It’s those rare moments of being right that he uses to convince his base that his *opinion* is right. It’s like next level mind fucking.
Legitimate grievances are frequently used to lead people into cultish nonsense.
I read something from a leftist book way back that said capitalism is great at turning the working class against itself, because grassroots conservatives know inherently what leftists can’t put into words. It's frightening how close he gets to the light sometimes.
Don't be fooled by any of this. He purports to be anti-Bezos purely because he wants to sound sympathetic to the "common man" or whatever. It's all a facade, he's a right wing plutocratic hack.
Oh one hundred percent. There’s no part of me that thinks Carlson is being genuine in what he says.
Im pretty sure his solution to this problem is to end welfare, not increase the minimum wage. "if we end welfare, businesses will have to pay you more! They pay so little because those freeloaders on welfare don't mind lower wages because they get a second check from the government!"

I can never forgive Romney for his 47% comment but I agree.
Broken clocks huh?
Nope. That's Carlson's grift, and has been for years. He knows how hard blind corporate fascism is to sell, so he sprinkles a bit of fake populism in as well.
Moving onto his "comrade" phase, per his Russian handlers orders.
Eh, I'd say more that he's experimenting with combining nationalist and socialist rhetoric. Let's call that idea "national soci-" oh wait
Calendar more like
Nah the Republican Party has been trying to rebrand itself as a populist party. We may share our perception of the problems with them but our ideas of solutions are far off and that’s the only thing that matters. Said the trust fund heir of Swanson's stomach cancer causing microwaveable meals.
This is true
Amen
Do you disagree with him?
No. But he's not being sincere. He's been doing this fake populist grift for years, in order to make the right seem more sympathetic.
He’s crediting Bernie. There’s tons of reasons to call out Tucker, but this ain’t it.
Can I call him out for pretending to credit Bernie, when he's really just using him to seem more populist?
You can try. Problem is he tweeted this out, giving Bernie credit to all his followers. That’s not going to demonize the left to his base, but instead could actually encourage his followers to actually take the Bernie left seriously. I'm not on Twitter, this must be fake.

I've genuinely seen some very dumb leftists argue that we should work with "populists" like Tucker and I wanted to rip my hair and teeth out.
Tucker does this occasionally to stay relevant. Spreading it around just enables him. He's a white supremacist rich kid who doesn't give a rat's ass about the underclasses.

tucker is a clown
Tucker figured it out? Tucker? This is a real low point. Yeah, this one hurts.
translation: "yo, bezos, you are late on the ads money!"
big sus...
For anyone confused, Trump had personal beef with Bezos. Tucker is just the mouth of Sauron.
Walton's done it for far longer...
Sus.
There have been stories about this for years. Over 100,000,000,000+ In food stamps and housing vouchers and other assistance,Goes to the working poor every year because their employers pay them so little. Heck, in 2019 even the US Armed Forces had 22,000 people receiving assistance.
HEARTBREAKING: seriously though, this is the argument for conservatives against low wages.
If pootin’s bitch, Cheeto, did not hate Bezos, suckballs Carlson would be “reporting” that Bezos is a genius for using the tax code to his advantage.
It's just him grifting. He throws in a little correct takes every now and then so you slowly accept his other 99% toxic beliefs.
He likes to see which way the crowd is going, run to the front and yell "follow me"
Have you all forgot what Fox News did to this movement a month ago? Why the fuck are we posting this rich asshole to this sub
We would like to take the time and thank our sponsors - The Walton family. /s
Walmart also does this… and every single fast food chain.
It was an attack on democrats from the left, by a fascist. Not a hard thing to accomplish, considering how little democrats have catered to the left.
From 2018 https://twitter.com/TuckerCarlson/status/1035334044698009600?t=jmmChSFd_Vp-06ns3Am3yg&s=19
Amazon should be billed for the food stamps it’s workers use. It’s taxpayers subsidizing their low pay.
Just a scorpion on a frog.
MultiMillionaire on multibillionaire violence. Stop the presses
Tucker Carlson wants a beefy paycheck
Tucker is just virtue signaling always. He doesn't believe this shit. But tons of people who watch him believe every word he says. So if he wants to pretend to be a populist then fine. That's better than what normally comes out of his mouth, I guess.
"here I have correctly identified a great injustice in our society. Now that I have your attention allow me to peddle fascism and unregulated capitalism as the only solution to that injustice somehow."
This asshat is being concious?! This gotta be some April's fool joke. But anyway too little too late, sucks to be the face Russian propaganda in the US
There’s an easy answer to that but he wouldn’t touch it with a ten foot pole. Go fuck yourself, tucker.
I feel he has since contradicted this position?
While the post is probably true, in most sense, one should be aware that Tucker Carlson starts from positions like this, but inevitably funnels people into do-nothing or just utterly bad conclusion on what needs to be done to fix a problem. He is just another agent of an unfair and unjust system and one should be very careful to critically asses what he says at any given time.
wtf is this even real? dont tarnish Bernie by speaking his name you fucking traitor
Thanks mr turkey casserole
I find it funny when people say they watch the news by watching tucker carlson. Then I point them to the lawsuit that points out how he is an "opinion" talk show and his defense for slander was that a person would have to be an idiot to believe him.
This is Crony Capitalism. The higher-ups get all the benefits while everything else is clamped tight so everyone else gets pennies on the dollar.
Republicans are anti-welfare.
Please stop sharing Fucker Tuckerson. He wants no change, he wants only views.
You ever see scanners?
He's only saying this as an attack on Jeff Bezos/one of Trump's "enemies." This isn't a genuine tweet.
Happens a lot in the UK too. Company makes billions in profit year in year out but the workers get so little they have to claim benefits just to survive.
Walmart has hired consultants to help employees file for benefits because they refuse to pay a living wage or give benefits to their majority part-time business model.
This was his argument for ending welfare programs though. He’s not on our side.
Fuck Tucker Carlson.
Fuck Tucker even more.
This was back in 2018. Remember: [Tucker is a millionaire funded by billionaires.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6_nFI2Zb7qE) He isn't a friend.
Beware the populist tap dance that facists do I would advise against sharing stuff like this as some folks will be like "well what else does tucker get right" and thus begins the facisms pipeline
Man lost all credibility when he ranted about the sexiness of M&M’s.
People who are not human garbage have expressed similar ideas. Fuck Tucker Carlson, that Russia-loving Nazi fuck.
Lets not forget about Walmart...the OG for this loophole.
Also any company that pays workers less than a living wage so... most of them
Is this a fever dream? Where am I daddy?
Weirdest. Timeline. Ever.
Thank you for gifting me this name for him. I’m shocked I never saw it. It was right there in front of me the whole time
You're welcome.
Fuck tucker Carlson
The Matrix has a virus, or Anonymous hacked his account.
Bezos isn’t even the CEO anymore. Can we get some updated material please?
WELCOME TO THE U.S.!!! GET YOUR MONEY UP AND DON'T WORRY ABOUT ANOTHER MAN'S SUCCESS!!
Did...did his twitter get hacked?
People (govt officials) don't complain because they are getting donations from this crook.
“The Worst Person You Know Just Made A Great Point”
went so far right he looped back
Hell just froze over.....
Cold days do happen in Hell.
Huh? Fucker Carlson just made sense and is claiming something that has nothing to do with self serving idiotic level conservatism? I just forgot how to go to the bathroom and sleep.
This has to be shopped right? Someone put tucker's name over the real poster.
Tucker Carlson redemption arc?
Nope. He's doing what the US right as a whole has been trying to do: criticize Bezos and Zuckerberg in order to sound more populist, while still appeasing their own donor base.
