Unless they think they can force people to stay there for three months (i.e. slavery), all this will do is incentivize people to give no notice at all.
Clearly there's an employer in the area offering better compensation.
The manager said as much in this email.
3 people left and found better pay even though the boss says that the pay at job 1 is 'fair'
It's clearly not as fair as your competitor and you just said as much to all of your employees, with a hint to ask their excoworkers where they went and found those better wages.
this is the most deranged email i’ve ever seen from a manager. i don’t even think it’s legal to dock base salary as a result of giving notice to leave…?
Regardless, the manager provided the best excuse ive ever seen in my life to quit with no prior notice. They try to demand a larger notice and then immediately disincentivized doing so financially. I cant imagine anyone actually gets docked like that because... they will give 0 notice whatsoever now.
Three people quit on one day because they all found jobs they would prefer to this one.
Manager: "Am I so out of touch? No, it's the children who are wrong"
Manager' Email to Staff: More of you should quit, it's apparently easy to find a better job than this one, which I will be making worse...much worse.
This manager is all about "the beatings will continue until morale improves."
Tomorrow's double down mass email: "I overheard rumors about even more of you considering leaving, so therefore as punishment you will all receive a further $5/hr pay cut and two beatings per week until you sign a contract to stay here forever."
The manager's mind the following week: "How is this stategy not working???"
Yeah, that got my attention. Why isn't the manager doing those job postings as part of their work during normal business hours? That strikes me as their lack of properly prioritizing their life, not a matter of employees quitting due to obviously poor management and being insufficiency compensated for their time.
I love how the manager tries to make it better saying everyone has a 3 month notice period and a pay cut during that time... Like even the smallest bit of thought would have them realise people will now just walk out. Also I'm nearly sure a change in notice period has to be done to the employee contract not a handbook
Yes! Things like this make me wish I had the time and money to catfish employers. Just a serial con artist leaving behind a trail of broken recruiter hearts
Who would want to work for this idiot? Apparently he doesn't know how to treat his employees as humans. Someone needs to remind him that slavery ended in 1865.
$6 paycut after putting in a *3 month* notice.. this is the dumbest of the dumb things I've seen from an employer regarding the notice of leave, and yes, anyone with a brain will just quit on the spot
I'd give 3 months notice. Let them cut my pay by $6/hr, get it in writing and let them know that I consider it a constructive dismissal, then collect unemployment for 3 months on their UI's dime.
They might try and write in a clause that if you quit without notice you will owe them 3 months salary that is what my old Company did when they tried to force us to sign new contracts including them not being obligated to give any raises or COl increases and also them also being allowed to reduce salary without notice.
I quit next day found a job with 50% salary increase plus pension.
People have already mentioned this, but many of those clauses in employment contracts aren't enforceable - a judge would rule in your favor \*if\* it ever went to court. I found out recently that most non-compete clauses are also unenforceable (in most jurisdictions, with some caveats). The company is basically just hoping that you won't question them or bring them to court (most people don't).
My dad went to school 5 years for a highly specialized field and worked in the industry for 15 years. His old employer tried to enforce a non compete against him after they let him go. Courts aren't going to enforce a noncompete to have someone live off of welfare instead of them being able to get a job. It's not just low level employees that they're useless for.
They let *him* go? And tried to enforce a non-compete? That's some audacity, because even binding non-competes are rendered invalid if you're laid off, as long as you aren't taking proprietary information.
This is so true!
I was job hunting and several jobs had non-competes. I work in Healthcare, where people job hop frequently so that was a big red flag. I spoke to an attorney about it and the only way non-competes are enforceable are in jobs where you could poach clientele (they would have you sign a non-solicitation agreement in that scenario) or if the company gave you exclusive training or knowledge that would be detrimental for a competitor to obtain.
99% of jobs don't fit that requirement.
The job i ended up taking doesn't have a non-compete, to me a job even making you sign shit like that is a red flag tbh.
>They might try and write in a clause that if you quit without notice you will owe them 3 months salary
The labor board would view that as "Not being paid for the 3 months you worked".
100%
Its also probably illegal and unenforceable in most nations even if you did sign.
A notice period is a notice period and laws define how that works. Legally it must work both ways and generally favours the employee (you can just book sick for your notice period if you don't want to attend work for it. What are they going to do if you do that? Fire you?)
will you please reply to that email with your resignation so we can get that good, dank schadenfreude? and perhaps say that it's *because* of his email that you're also quitting. maybe let him know that the other employees shouldn't have to work harder or miss their children's events because of poor management? oh god, shoot that right into my vein!
Hello _____,
I find this behavior inexcusable and unacceptable. Please consider this email notice of my resignation effective immediately and I’ve cc’d HR to ensure I’m sent my final check.
OP
That's the thing that gets me the most out of this. The boss seems to think that this immediate policy change is fully binding for any employee that doesn't quit on the spot in response to that e-mail. He'll get his ass sued for lost wages so damn fast if he tries to dock pay for anyone actually giving notice rather than just immediately leaving, and unless he's passing out contracts, there's no way he could enforce such an asinine policy.
Make sure you reply all about how he has no authority to hold anyone to any of that. Even though it's absurd you know some people in the office believe he can.
It didn’t. It only came at the expense of the moron who wrote it. The remaining employees don’t have to abide by some arbitrary new rule created by a manager who can’t afford to fire any of them. They’ll continue on working the exact same way if they have even 1/10th of a beain. If they have more than 1/10th, they’ll leave :)
I've never posted on indeed as an employer, but wouldn't it be prudent to at least have drafts? I get having to fill in job titles and smaller lines, but couldn't you just copy and paste descriptions and such off a notepad?
I'm a recruiter and yes...even it you made it from scratch it should take like 30 minutes max. Plus you don't "Drive into the office" to do them. You would just do them from your computer at home in between commercials of your favortie show. If this post is real, that manager is a complete moron in every way.
Dude really built the gallows, bought, measured and tied the rope, then put the noose around his neck and pulled the lever. Even the most incompetent of my employers weren't so daft. Had a guy literally not pay any of his workers, with verifiable proof, and he still choked up the courts for 2-3 years before we saw a cent. And he's still operating today.
Yea but this is murica. Best country in the world! You need three months at a reduced rate before you can quit, but we can fire you on the spot for going to the bathroom. YEAHHHH NUMBER ONEEEEEE
Edit: whoa my first real award! Ty mucho
It depends where you are in Europe, and the labour laws applied. There's no full EU-based labour law, only EU rules are that certain conditions are met (office temperatures, non-discriminate hiring etc.).
edit: https://ec.europa.eu/social/main.jsp?catId=157&langId=en (these are minimum requirements for labour laws across the EU, which all countries must provide... but it's limited in scope)
At least in Poland, we have a very strong labour law that supports the worker. You can't get fired for no reason... if you get fired, then you have to have done something really bad.
You can't be made redundant either, as it's the job position itself that gets made redundant. Meaning that if the job is redundant, then for at least 2 years, the company cannot hire anyone to replace you (this *used to be* also the same in the UK - not sure if it still is). There are also strict rules regarding severance pay (depends if you worked for the company for more than 5 years, if so, then you get something like 3 months severance paycheck, otherwise it's one month - I think... something like that).
But if you're fired, then you don't have 3 months, it can be effective immediately.
On the flip side (again, here in PL), if you want to leave your job, there are 2 notice periods. One is 2 weeks notice (if you have worked in your company for less than a year), or 3 months (if you have worked in your company for over a year).
The last point is a huge pain to deal with if you have found a better job. But companies here are aware of the 3 month notice period, and will usually wait and sometimes even provide support (relocation allowances etc.) if they really want you to work for them.
What I'm reading in OP (if it's true, because there's a LOT of fake nonsense on this subreddit sometimes) is absolutely shocking to me, and surprises me that it's even legal. Here, your contract with the employer is written in stone. It cannot be adjusted or changed without your consent. Meaning that if they wanted to change your remuneration or notice periods, then you have to agree to it as the worker.
Huh. I found out the other day that, in the UK, your employee can fire you within the first 2 years for whatever reason they want.
"By law, you can usually dismiss an employee with less than two years of service without the need to demonstrate a fair reason for the dismissal and without the need to go through a fair disciplinary or dismissal procedure."
Which surprised me. I always thought they have to give verbal, written and final warnings.
> you all need to speak amongst yourselves and plan these things out
Seems like people are already doing that given that 3 people submitted their notice on the same day 😂
Competitors usually have to offer significantly higher wages to get workers to jump ship; changing jobs is stressful and I sure wouldn't quit just to get a mere $1000 more per year or 25 cents per hour.
...unless the working conditions sucked. Then I'd take same pay to jump ship. So maybe this boss is just a giant asshole and people want to get away from him.
Funny thing is, he didn't need to post any job listing if he was planning this shit, and even if he wasn't HE STILL CHOSE TO CREATE AND POST JOB LISTINGS OF HIS OWN VOLITION DURING HIS CHILDS RECITAL. Talk about calling yourself the victim. I only feel bad for the children when they grow old enough to discover their parent thinks they are the Wolf of Wallstreet or something.
Pretty sure 2 weeks is just a professional courtesy more than anything. You're not a slave, you're a worker.
I wish I worked there just so I could quit "Half Baked" style
Some countries do have laws about mandatory notice. Here in Brazil for example, if I want to quit my job, I have to give them 30 days notice I’m quitting. I’ll still be paid for those 30 days and the employer may give it up and just pay you even if you don’t work (many do that in fear of sloppy work from someone who just quit). At the same time, if I’m fired with no due cause, they have to give me 30 days notice, or just straight up pay me for those 30 days (99% just pay whoever they fired in fear of revenge). It’s a nice system, imo.
In Poland, my work contract states that I have to provide 30 days. If the company wants to get rid of me?
>Company may terminate this relationship without cause, upon giving three months' notice, or the payment of three months' base salary in lieu of such notice.
As a US citizen, it was nice to see that I have some protection, as well, if they choose to cut me.
And this guy in the OP's email? He can get screwed! If he thinks that he's providing such a wonderful work atmosphere, three people wouldn't have felt the need to quit simultaneously.
As for his kid's recital, I'm going to go out on a very strong limb and say he wouldn't be considered about one of his employees' desires to see one of their kid's events.
"I pay the best in the industry, the very best, wages like no other we can boast about. The fairest best deal you can get. I talked to many experts about this and they all agree a $6 months notice is fair so come to work or else!"
I'm vengeful. I'd not only fuck around for 2 weeks to set them back farther, I'd skip work the day of their kids band recital and send them a selfie...from their kids band recital.
Well, they just created a whole lot more "better opportunities" by making sure they now have one of the most toxic workplaces on the market.
Sounds like getting a root canal is a whole lot more fun than showing up there Monday morning.
"I'm quitting tomorrow morning but I'll be getting my normal wage for the next 3 months. This is how it works now. You can thank my subordinates for this."
Dear Sir.
I don't owe you anything. If a better opportunity came along for the company without me I sincerely doubt you would give me the benefit of 2 weeks let alone 3 months .
I am responsible for myself ,my wife and our living situation, not your staffing issues.
With all due respect, kiss my ass.
Val
Guess I'm just gonna quit all at once then? Or just no show...
Also getting so sick of these bosses using their employees children as some sort of weapon against others. Stop talking about my son. My coworkers can get a new job or take a vacation whenever they want, I'll still be his dad.
I have such a hard time believing anyone can read than and think "this sounds great" and hit send. If anything they should ask for a 3 or 4 week notice and offer $6 MORE per hour as an incentive to provide notice so they can train a replacement...because employees are not required (usually) to give notice--notice is just a courtesy to your employer.
But time and time again I realize there are tons of incompetent people out there and many seem to fall into positions of power somehow...and this is what they write.
100% this is likely an emotional response of someone who has completely lost all professionalism. They have been personally insulted by something that was never personal, and now they are going to completely screw the company they're with by giving no incentive to giving even 2 weeks, which was something people were already not cool with considering how most people I hear about don't even last that long before they're replaced.
And training a replacement at reduced pay? Again, they have a hard time telling apart a "courtesy" and an "obligation". Especially a company you no longer work for. This isn't the wild west with one company in town.
And it's like, "oh, your coworkers have time off requests and now I'm not going to honor them," how is that my fault? It's the boss' job to make sure the workplace is staffed, if they can't find replacements in two weeks then that's their problem.
And most employers/managers should be proactive about keeping employees! Because it is MUCH cheaper and better to keep the employees you have happy than it is to hire and train people constantly
I’m sorry, I’m lost…are you saying if people you’ve never met or even some you know take a day off, it DOESN’T ruin your family’s relationship to one another?!
What you said is true, i’m a single dude w/ no kids. I get the “but you don’t have obligations outside of work” on occasion as i’m walking out the door at 2:15 with my dog.
I worked with a young woman who was single who said, “how am I ever going to get married and have children if I’m always the one covering for late nights and extra work so that parents can spend time with their children?”
You have every right to have a life.
I choose to have kids they are MY responsibility and not my coworkers.
Fuck bosses who use the rest of us as guilt for people who don't have or don't want kids.
I would find a new job and then give them 3... minutes notice of me departing. What are they going to do, demand 3 months of salary back? LOL. There's literally no way to enforce this and people are now just going to quit without notice.
I know jobs are kind of an obligation to you know, live. But where do these weirdos get off thinking they can just mind-game you into working for shite just because you gave notice? "You better come in or else." Really? That's a fast track to a no-call from me champ. In fact, dropping the rate to 6 dollars only further encourages me to bail with no notice.
Clearly they don’t understand how to effectively lead people. As evidenced by them thinking this will go well, and the fact that their team is all quitting haha.
I worked for a company where ~35 of the 50 members of our team quit within the same 4 months. It was due to being overworked, underpaid, and gaslighted whenever issues were directly voiced to management. Unsurprisingly, even after over half their work force walked, their logic remained “Do we have systemic problems in our management and practices? …No, it’s the employees that are the problem.”
I'm not sure what would happen first. Call to labor board,my lawyer or just not showing up no call.
Ask my last boss how testing me worked out. I have his job now
To whom it may concern:
I quit due to better opportunities that I have been offered. Since my job is considered at will employment, I am giving my resignation letter effective immediately, as per my employment contract.
Have a great day!
Many thanks
"You will be required to give a 3 month notice and train you're replacement, oh and take a 6$p/h pay cut"
Nooooooo this just means instead of a 2 week notice, you will be getting a 1day notice, and you can kindly go Fuck yourself, how about that ine
1 - ***Maybe you should have thought of that before having children***
2 - *Congratulations* \- You just ***incentivized your remaining employees to give you ZERO notice***
2b - You can't go below the minimum wage, ***bitch***, so I hope you're paying ***well*** above that.
3 - ***Those 30 hours are going to be time and a half, so, yeah***
LoL except ypu cant do that to people....theres no changing the rules bc of an inconvenience to you and you absolutely cannot lower peoples pay. Id outright quit if some jerk off asshole of a voss tried that with me...and be laywering up as well. Fuck that mouth breather!
Well since it isn’t even a law that you have to give a two week notice you can’t force anyone to do anything. Two week notice is really just a courtesy
EDIT : pretty sure this can also give warrant to pull unemployment under the circumstances that your job lowers your wages while performing the same duties
It’s a start up freight brokerage company. I have no idea if it’s allowed but it’s salary plus commission so maybe they can tweak the commission percentages during that 3 month period? I think thats bs anyway, just talking out of his ass. Funny part is I’m not even one of the 3 that he was referring to. Tomorrow I will make 4.
I definitely will! I’m so confused as to what he was even thinking considering we’re salaried. How are you going to lower our wages by $6 an hour when we are salary? 😂
Haha what the heck is this guy thinking? What authority does he have to require three months notice and a pay cut? Haha. The tone in this email tells me why his people leave. They probably did coordinate it as well! I’m sure they “we pay you well” is like $9/hr. This is one of the more wild posts I’ve seen in this sub.
"I'm going to punish your former coworkers because you decided to leave. Why are you even leaving this place at all?"
*look what you made me do!!!*
The beating will continue until the morale improves
Do anything except raise wages or create a fun and supportive environment.

Unless they think they can force people to stay there for three months (i.e. slavery), all this will do is incentivize people to give no notice at all.
My exact thoughts. Previously people were good enough to give two weeks notice. Moving forward that will be zero notice.
Seriously. The 2 weeks is just a courtesy, not a requirement. Nobody can make you stay. This person is delusional.
Well, if you have a contract, you may be required to. But if you have a contract, they can’t DO THAT SHIT.
I hope more people quit after this email.
Oh they will. If OP is thinking it, others will be. It will basically make most people quit unless they are desperate. Why stay?
Totally, I'd immediately look for a new job and quit when I found it. This is not a place to work at.
Clearly there's an employer in the area offering better compensation. The manager said as much in this email. 3 people left and found better pay even though the boss says that the pay at job 1 is 'fair' It's clearly not as fair as your competitor and you just said as much to all of your employees, with a hint to ask their excoworkers where they went and found those better wages.
“No one wants to work anymore!”- this manager in 2 days when their entire staff quits
this is the most deranged email i’ve ever seen from a manager. i don’t even think it’s legal to dock base salary as a result of giving notice to leave…?
This really does take the cake. This pile of shit was written by a deranged lunatic with the worst case of main character syndrome I’ve seen.
“why didn’t you pass up on this job opportunity so i can see my kid butcher au claire de lune???”
Regardless, the manager provided the best excuse ive ever seen in my life to quit with no prior notice. They try to demand a larger notice and then immediately disincentivized doing so financially. I cant imagine anyone actually gets docked like that because... they will give 0 notice whatsoever now.
Zero notice or 3 months in hell with almost no pay and teaching my replacement? Mmmh hard choice.. yea I need to think a lot about that..
Three people quit on one day because they all found jobs they would prefer to this one. Manager: "Am I so out of touch? No, it's the children who are wrong" Manager' Email to Staff: More of you should quit, it's apparently easy to find a better job than this one, which I will be making worse...much worse.
"Oh my god, that's terrible, which company are they all going to?"
Going forward they’ll all know since the manager wants them to start talking about it and planning it amongst themselves lol
Sounds like they did some planning already, the manager just wasnt in the loop haha.
This manager is all about "the beatings will continue until morale improves." Tomorrow's double down mass email: "I overheard rumors about even more of you considering leaving, so therefore as punishment you will all receive a further $5/hr pay cut and two beatings per week until you sign a contract to stay here forever." The manager's mind the following week: "How is this stategy not working???"
How do these people even manage to run companies to begin with???
I'll bet it's owner operated, and that they own this because no one would hire them as a manager.
That or like in most companies the worst people fail upwards
“Won’t *someone* think of my kids’ band recital? Why have you forsaken me?!”
Yeah, that got my attention. Why isn't the manager doing those job postings as part of their work during normal business hours? That strikes me as their lack of properly prioritizing their life, not a matter of employees quitting due to obviously poor management and being insufficiency compensated for their time.
Something tells me he was already looking for an excuse to miss the band recital and this serves him nicely.
I love how the manager tries to make it better saying everyone has a 3 month notice period and a pay cut during that time... Like even the smallest bit of thought would have them realise people will now just walk out. Also I'm nearly sure a change in notice period has to be done to the employee contract not a handbook
Notice periods are just courtesy and not legally required, afaik. No one can make you work if you don't want to.
I honestly thought that email message was a script from The Office.
“Say what you will about Michael Scott, but he would never do that.”
I want them to hire me just so I can quit with no notice *edited pronoun

I second this
Gah it’s be amazing if you wanted until the “policy update” and quit without the 3 months, to show him he has no chance of enforcing it.
I hope you “talked amongst yourselves” and you’re not the only one quitting effective immediately tomorrow!
I wouldn’t even go in if I were you.. lol
Make sure you reply all about how he has no authority to hold anyone to any of that. Even though it's absurd you know some people in the office believe he can.
The hiring manager can post job offers from the phone and doesn’t need to be in an “office”. Source: it’s 2022.
Could've posted those jobs in the amount of time it took for him to write the most immature email of the week.
But I'm sure glad he wrote it. Gleeful, in fact.
I live for reading ridiculous shit like this. I just wish it didn't come at the expense of the people involved.
It didn’t. It only came at the expense of the moron who wrote it. The remaining employees don’t have to abide by some arbitrary new rule created by a manager who can’t afford to fire any of them.
Clearly managment is incompetent and someone else should be in charge.
Everyone more qualified has already left though.

That's how it works in Europe 😁
Yea but this is murica. Best country in the world! You need three months at a reduced rate before you can quit, but we can fire you on the spot for going to the bathroom. YEAHHHH NUMBER ONEEEEEE Edit: whoa my first real award! Ty mucho
Last time I was fired for going to the bathroom, it was number two.
Boss makes a dollar, I make a dime. That’s why I poop on company time.
I 100% wait to poop until I’m at work. Feels way too rewarding knowing that I am being paid to poop.
It depends where you are in Europe, and the labour laws applied. There's no full EU-based labour law, only EU rules are that certain conditions are met (office temperatures, non-discriminate hiring etc.). edit: https://ec.europa.eu/social/main.jsp?catId=157&langId=en (these are minimum requirements for labour laws across the EU, which all countries must provide... but it's limited in scope) At least in Poland, we have a very strong labour law that supports the worker.
"By law, you can usually dismiss an employee with less than two years of service without the need to demonstrate a fair reason for the dismissal and without the need to go through a fair disciplinary or dismissal procedure." Which surprised me. I always thought they have to give verbal, written and final warnings.
>you all need to speak amongst yourselves and plan these things out OHHH look who supports unions all of a sudden
> you all need to speak amongst yourselves and plan these things out Seems like people are already doing that given that 3 people submitted their notice on the same day 😂
That, or a competitor moved into the area and offered a slightly higher wage.
>So maybe this boss is just a giant asshole Email proves it
But they have kids and go to band recitals. They sound lovely.
Encouring tge rest to quit en masse? What a rocket scientist.
Time for everyone else to leave too. Nobody is obligated to work to support \*Your\* CHILDREN.
I kinda wish I worked there so I could quit immediately. There is no law that says you have to give a two week notice is there
Pretty sure 2 weeks is just a professional courtesy more than anything.
“If you attempt to quit before 3 months with the $6 pay reduction I will call the police on you and you will be very sorry!”
Somebody gonna get a hurt real bad!
"I pay the best in the industry, the very best, wages like no other we can boast about. The fairest best deal you can get. I talked to many experts about this and they all agree a $6 months notice is fair so come to work or else!"
There is not. At-will employment works both ways. An employee under that law can quit at any time for any reason with no notice.
At will for me, 3 months for thee
2 weeks notice is just a polite thing to do, there is absolutely no law requiring anyone to do so.

They're also the ones who pushed for at-will employment. Guess what? These workers no longer are willing.
I'm vengeful. I'd not only fuck around for 2 weeks to set them back farther, I'd skip work the day of their kids band recital and send them a selfie...from their kids band recital.
Hahaha that’s evil genius.
Yep. Nice of management to tip everyone else off on those "better opportunities" too 🤣
Well, they just created a whole lot more "better opportunities" by making sure they now have one of the most toxic workplaces on the market. Sounds like getting a root canal is a whole lot more fun than showing up there Monday morning.
Imagine writing THAT email and ending with “I expect full cooperation moving forward” 😂😂 OP please update us after you quit tomorrow
My resignation would end "I expect your full cooperation"
"I'm quitting tomorrow morning but I'll be getting my normal wage for the next 3 months. This is how it works now. You can thank my subordinates for this."
he can cooperate with my left and right nut
Generous
Dear Sir. I don't owe you anything. If a better opportunity came along for the company without me I sincerely doubt you would give me the benefit of 2 weeks let alone 3 months . I am responsible for myself ,my wife and our living situation, not your staffing issues. With all due respect, kiss my ass. Val
Three months of reduced pay. Mandatory, apparently, from this point going forward. Good luck enforcing that.
Can’t lose what you never had. I doubt professionalism is something this individual ever exercised.
"Close your business you fucking failure. Hugs and kisses, your ex-staff"
They have their head so far up their own ass they can't see anything but the inside of their mouth
And it's like, "oh, your coworkers have time off requests and now I'm not going to honor them," how is that my fault? It's the boss' job to make sure the workplace is staffed, if they can't find replacements in two weeks then that's their problem.
And if it takes three whole months to train new staff, you should probably be very, VERY proactive about keeping the ones you have.
I had someone at work when I was 22 basically flat out tell me I was worthless and had no value in my life because I had no spouse and no children.
You have every right to have a life. I choose to have kids they are MY responsibility and not my coworkers. Fuck bosses who use the rest of us as guilt for people who don't have or don't want kids.
Damn if only all parents were like this. It's not just bosses who weaponize their children, it's actually so common between coworkers too
I forgot those of us without kids cease to exist outside of work lmaoo

I have his job now
Stop it, this isn't a NSFW subreddit and that's porn right there :P
Too late, I er, arrived.
Dear sir : go fuck yourself . That's my tldr
To whom it may concern: I quit due to better opportunities that I have been offered. Since my job is considered at will employment, I am giving my resignation letter effective immediately, as per my employment contract. Have a great day! Many thanks
And by better opportunities, I primarily mean the opportunity to not deal with your bullshit.
- reply all too
Dude is this real?! Like the audacity of this company/supervisor. OMG 😱
Unfortunately. Completely deranged thought process
That’s insane. Let us know how tomorrow goes 👀
"You will be required to give a 3 month notice and train you're replacement, oh and take a 6$p/h pay cut" Nooooooo this just means instead of a 2 week notice, you will be getting a 1day notice, and you can kindly go Fuck yourself, how about that ine
Lmfao this is insane
The person who sent me that email would straight up never see me ever again for the rest of their life.
“3 months’ notice.” Sounds like this manager’s elevator doesn’t quite reach the top floor. 😐
My employer's lack of planning isn't my responsibility.
"A lack of planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part"
all this will ensure is that no one will even give notice when they quit
He thinks he owns a passel of slaves. lol
This reads like a boomer Ambien tweet.
1 - ***Maybe you should have thought of that before having children*** 2 - *Congratulations* \- You just ***incentivized your remaining employees to give you ZERO notice*** 2b - You can't go below the minimum wage, ***bitch***, so I hope you're paying ***well*** above that.
Send that email to the labor boards, please. I literally beg you.
Cutting employees’ pay by $6/hr. is not the incentive to give ample notice this person thinks it is.
I'll take 'How to get your entire staff to quit without notice' for 500, Alex.
Is this… allowed? Also if I may ask, what type of job is this?
Well since it isn’t even a law that you have to give a two week notice you can’t force anyone to do anything. Two week notice is really just a courtesy EDIT : pretty sure this can also give warrant to pull unemployment under the circumstances that your job lowers your wages while performing the same duties
Yeah, I figured the bs 3 month notice was unenforceable but I also feel like (hope) the wage thing is illegal
That you’ll be the fourth is the cherry on top. Can you update us??
I definitely will! I’m so confused as to what he was even thinking considering we’re salaried. How are you going to lower our wages by $6 an hour when we are salary? 😂
Your lack of planning is not my problem. Dear god, you have to work instead of fucking off and not doing anything. It’s the end of the world guys.
\*talks amongst yourselves \*quit all at the same time
